Chapter 5: Calm before storm

Mono is facing down the table due to the exhaustion after the classes.

Suddenly, his cheek is pinched by someone so painfully that he shouts:

"Ow!" - Mono looks to see the person pinching and sees Six.

"Wakie wakie, sleeping bag." - Six says.

"OMG! Six! Let me sleep."

"What's wrong, Mono?"

"It's just that I couldn't even understand a single thing. I haven't read any books ever before." - Mono says as he faces down the table again, looks at Six, and says - "How about you, Six?"

"I could understand some but not all. Luckily, I read some books when I was in the Maw."

"Lucky for you." - Mono says - "So why do you come to wake me up?"

"It's time for lunch and the Izuku group wants to invite us to come."

Mono looks outside the class and sees Izuku waiting, says:

"Ok. Let's go!"

Mono grabs Six's hand and comes out.

On the way to the cafeteria

Mono and Six are having a conversation with the Izuku group.

"Wow! So you rescued Six from a giant hunter!" - Deku says while writing intensely.

"No. It's just that we were small."- Mono says.

"Why are you so small compared to the Hunter?" - Uraraka asks.

"I think it's either child in our world are very tiny or the adults are very massive. And I don't know the reason."

Deku writes that down quickly and asks:

"So what does he look li... "- Deku says but is interrupted by All Might, who suddenly appears in the intersection surprising Mono and Six.

"Hello Young Midoriya!"

"Hi All Might." - Deku answers.

"Do you want to have lunch with me?" - All Might says.

"Puffffff. He looks like a JK (Schoolgirl)." - Uraraka tries not to laugh.

"I have to go now." - Deku says.

"See you later." - Ilda says.

"See you." - Deku replies.

After Deku goes with All Might, Mono asks:

"Who was that?"

"Oh! He used to be the Number 1 Hero, named All Might." Ilda answers.

"Really? But what do you mean by 'used to'?"

"After defeating an arch-villain, he no longer can use his quirk for long anymore." - Ilda explains.

In the cafeteria

Mono is very surprised by how much food the cafeteria has, so is Six.

"Wow! So much food! Can we get as much as we want?" - Mono asks.

"Yes, you can. Lunch Rush can cook delicious meal very quickly." - Ilda answers.

Mono gets as much food as he is allowed since he is very hungry. However, Six gets even more.

The group sits at a table after getting their meal.

"Itadakimasu!" - Ilda and Uraraka both says.

"What did you say?" - Mono asks.

"Oh! It's our tradition. We say that before eating to appreciate the meal." - Ochako explains.

"Oh. Then 'Itadakimasu'!" - Mono and Six both say and start eating.

They both take a bite and...

"Wow! This is so good!" Mono says and takes another spoon - "I haven't eaten anything as tasty as this before."

"Yeah! It's surely very delicious." Ilda says.

"Six!" - Uraraka calls for Six, who is eating very quickly - "I remember that you met Mono when you're 9. Then where had you been before that?"

Six stops eating to think the answer for a bit.

"Before I met Mono, I had been captured to the Nest."

"Wait. You didn't tell me about that place." - Mono says as he has just finished eating.

"You never ask me..." - Six is saying when Monoma suddenly interrupts

"HI CLASS A. I heard that your class has two new students. Are they these two, a paper bag boy and a raincoat girl?"

"HAHAHA... They look so weird to m..." Monoma says but is chopped and grabbed by Kendo, a girl with a giant hand.

"Monoma! Stop humiliating them." - Kendo says - "I'm sorry for his manner. Luckily, I got him more quickly this time."

"It's fine." - Ilda says - "We get used to it now."

"Kendo! Let me out!" - Monoma says while struggling to escape hopelessly and being taken away.

"Who was that?" - Mono asks in confusion.

"It's Class B students. And the boy trying to humiliate you is Monoma. He's a bit overreacted." - Uraraka answers.

"Oh. I see."

"OK. Shall we go now?" - Ilda says.

"OK!" - The others agree.

On the way to the class, the group reunites with Deku, who goes with an angry Bakugo.

"Oh. Hello Deku" - Uraraka greets.

"Hi!" - Deku says - "So how was the meal, Mono and Six?"

"Honestly, It was much better than I thought." - Mono says as he sees Six's hand bleeding - "Six! Are you fine?"

Mono quickly gets a bandage from his coat to lessen the bleed.

"What happened?" - Mono asks but only receives silence.

Mono decides not to ask Six anymore.

"Ok. That's done for now." - Mono says after finishing aiding Six.

"Are you okay, Six?" - Uraraka says in worry.

"I'm fine. It's ok now." - Six answers not to make everyone worried - "Let's go to the class!"

The group then continues going to the class when they suddenly meet Aizawa on the way.

"Six. Mono." - Aizawa calls for them.

"Yes, sensei?" Mono says after getting closer to Aizawa.

"Next weekend, you two will go to Kyushu with me to design your hero costume."

"Next week?" - Mono says - "But we have just started learning today."

"The Principal orders us to do" - Aizawa says, which makes Mono ask no more questions. On the other hand, both Mono and Six think about the appearance of the Principal, a cute hamster.

"What's a hero costume, Izuku?" - Mono asks making Deku excited.

"Oh! It's the costume that you will wear when working as a hero in public." - Deku explains - "I wonder how your costume looks like."

"I won't even think about it if Aizawa-sensei doesn't tell me."

The bell suddenly rings making the group rush.

And the lessons begin again.

The next Saturday, 6 AM

Mono and Six are taking a metro to Kyushu with Aizawa.

"Wow!" - Mono is surprised by how fast the metro is and how beautiful the scene is.

"Yeah!" - Six says - "I have never gone on anything like this before."

"I have taken one before but the ride wasn't very comfortable," Mono says as he remembers the time he released the brake of a train to escape from Thin Man. The train then crashed and hurt him badly.

Exiting the station, Mono and Six are amazed by the skyscrapers and the busy street.

"So where are we going now?" - Six asks Aizawa, who then points at one of the highest skyscrapers.

"We will go there to measure your body size for the suit." - Aizawa says -

"Have you decided on your hero costume?"

"Yes, we have." - Mono and Six answers.

"Here's some money. You can spend for shopping on the way." - Aizawa says as he gives Mono and Six a bit of money.

Mono and Six have fun buying things. Mono tries every hat in the hat shop, which annoys the manager. He could have bought all the hats if he had had enough money.

There is a moment when Mono offers Six a candy stick while eating one. Then, Six suddenly jumps to get that one making Mono blush reddish.

When they arrive at the company building, they see an enormous entrance.

"Wow!" Mono is amazed again.

"This is the UA's private company." - Aizawa says - "But this is classified information so you two need to keep secret."

"Ok, sensei!" - Mono and Six agree.

3 hours later

"Phew..." - Mono sighs after being checked intensely.

"What is your suit look like, Six?"

"Secret!" - Six says and smiles, which makes Mono blushed.

Suddenly, there is a minor quake. Mono can see a building being cut in half and the crowd starts running away from there.

"What happened?" - Mono asks and looks at Aizawa, who is analyzing the situation.

"Mono! Get Six with the crowd! I will help the Heroes." - Aizawa says and then jumps on the street lamps like a ninja.

"Let's go, Six!" - Mono says as he grabs Six to go with the crowd.

Little did Mono know, he underestimates the chaos. He has almost lost Six multiple times.

Mono thinks about using his teleportation power to escape the crowd and decides to do it without considering the risk.

"Six! Close your eyes!" - Mono shouts so Six can hear him.

After Six closes her eyes, Mono also closes his and focuses.

Suddenly, the crowd is lessened. Mono opens his eyes and sees him and Six in an empty street.

"Where are we?" - Six asks.

"I don't know..." - Mono says as he sees debris falling on Six - "SIX!" - and pushes her away. His foot is stuck in the debris.

"Mono! Are you fine?" - Six says worriedly when suddenly a loud crashing sound appears and dust covers the street.

After the dust fades, they see a heavily injured man with some fire on him and a big black monster.

"Boring." - The monster says - "Is there anyone stronger?"

Oh no! The Nomu has arrived. What would Mono and Six do in this situation? Coming in the next chapter.
