Wazup y'all!
New chapter and a new character! Please enjoy!
(Sharpshot's perspective)
"Widowmaker," I start, "that's a perfect name."
"Why thank you, Sharpshot." Widowmaker replies.
"That's a long name," Hardshell states, "can I call you Widow?"
"Sure." Widow replies with a chuckle.
Then Shockwave steps forward and says,
"Now there is only one thing left to do."
"What's that?" Widow asks.
"We need to give you your hive mind chip, it will let you connect with the others and it will allow you to become a part of Pestilence." Shockwave continues.
Widow seemed a bit edgy when Shockwave mentioned Pestilence, so she pulled him to the side and finished the conversation in private.
After a few minutes, Shockwave came back and called Symphony to the pods by the core.
He then put the two femmes into the pods and said, "don't worry, this won't hurt a bit."
The same thing he said to us when we were put under in his moonbase.
Then the fumes began to fill up the pod and the two were knocked out almost instantly.
Then there were these skinny metal arms that protruded from the top of the pod and opened up their heads to then put a small chip inside, perfectly in sync with each other.
After the process was complete Shockwave pressed a button on his console and the pods opened up revealing the dazed femmes. I then tested their hive mind chips and said hello by just thinking it. They both looked up at me in surprise trying to figure out how I spoke without opening my mouth. I then tap my cranium plate gesturing to the chip. They start to realize they are now connected. Symphony thinks, 'testing one two three?' I nod in response.
"Ok, that's cool," Symphony says aloud.
"Yeah, it is," Hardshell replies.
"Is it ok if I toy around with this chip a bit? I would like to better understand it." Symphony says to Shockwave.
"Of course." He replies.
"I feel like 22 should have a proper name too," Hardshell says.
"That's the smartest thing you've said all day." Ransack remarks.
"Agreed Hardshell," Shockwave starts, "what is your alt mode, 8u22?"
"An Earth creature called a hornet." 22 says. "I liked it because of the sound it made. Like the faint crackle of machine gunfire."
"I like him already." Ransack remarks.
"Oh wow! Ransack actually can get along with someone?!" Widowmaker exclaimed sarcastically
"Subtle." Ransack replies.
"Does Razerhorn need to get ax to cut tension between you two?" Razorhorn asks.
"Just to change the subject," I start, "Alpha Trion, are there any other Insecticons out there that we need to find?"
"There are many," He starts, "You will not be able to find them all before Megatron comes, however, once you build the hive you will be able to call them to you through the hive mind."
"Then we should continue looking for them while we still have time time time." Kickback states.
"He is right," Shockwave starts, "and now that we know there may be hostiles from your encounter with Overlord, you now have the ability to combine as 7 members."
"Actually I would prefer to stay here as a scientist rather than a fighter." Symphony states.
"I could use some assistance around here." Shockwave remarks, "What of you Widowmaker?"
Widow hesitates for a moment.
"What?" Ransack says mockingly to Widow, "are you scared?"
Then she looks at him enraged and actually slaps him across the face.
"Seriously?" Ransack says as he rubs the area where he was struck, "did you just slap me?"
"I know," Widow replies sarcastically, "weird right?"
"You argue like an old married couple," Shockwave says.
"What?" Ransack asks exhaustedly.
"Nevermind." Shockwave dismisses.
"Is there a reason why you are hesitant to come?" I ask.
"I'm just not the biggest fan of your… Pestilence."
"Why don't you like it it it?" Kickback asked in an innocent child-like voice.
"Two words: Collateral damage," she says
"If you're worried about it accidentally harming you. You should be a part of it, then you won't be harmed by it." Shockwave reasons.
"Well… that and I don't want to share any space with Ransack, even if it's mental space," she said.
Ransack just huffed and thought, 'The feeling is mutual.'
I nudged Ransack to quit it.
"While combined you won't be sharing any mental space with him or the rest of the team. Instead, your minds, thoughts, and feelings mesh to form an entirely new consciousness." Shockwave corrected.
"That's not much better… no that's worse," Widowmaker replied.
"The more you two get along the more stable this team is going to be, the more stable this team is the more successful it will be, the more successful it is the better chance for Cybrton to be saved, the higher chance of Cybertron being saved will offer more and more bots sanctuary. That's what you want isn't it?" Alpha Trion reasoned.
"Really, we just want to be left alone," I start, "but we can't be left alone safely if our planet will be destroyed. We want to save Cybertron for us, helping everyone else in the process is a plus."
"Well by your actions of saving Cybertron you can be left alone if that is truly what you want." Alpha Trion states.
"It is is is." Kickback says.
"Well, your next step to that goal is to find the other Insecticons" The prime directs.
"Yes sir!" Hardshell says jokingly.
We then climb out of the tunnel while Shockwave and Symphony stay behind and fiddle with the consoles.
It seems like Widow likes her new alt mode, even though 8 legs is not something she is used to.
We climb out of the tunnel and start looking for pods with our navigational devices.
There was one pod that was slightly smaller than Ransack that we opened.
Widow had her sniper trained on the pod-like last time while Ransack backed away.
Once the pod opens a small Insecticon crashes to the ground. Kickback lifts him up cautiously in case he may be hostile. To tell the Insecticon we mean no harm I attempt to communicate by clicking and chittering like we did before the hive was destroyed. The Insecticon immediately perked up and responded the same way. I asked him if he could speak and he said he could but preferred not to. I asked why and he said that he was afraid someone from the outside might hear him. I told him that no one was near and he was safe.
"Are you sure?" He asked in a normal voice.
"Yes," I start, "what is your name?"
"Terrormite." He replied.
"Nice to meet you you you." Kickback said happily.
This brought some comfort to him but he still seemed a bit edgy.
"Hello," 22 started, "My name is 8u22. But you can just call me 22, I don't have a proper name yet."
"You are a drone?" Terrormite asked.
"I used to be." 22 responded.
"Wait, don't I know you? From before the war?" Terrormite asked.
"I don't think so…" 22 replied.
"Yes I do, you were overseeing the mite's builds," Terrormite said excitedly.
"Wait, how did you know that?" 22 asked.
"Because I was one of those mites!" He said happily, "We called you Buzz because the numerals in your name looked like the word Buzz!"
"That's right!" 22 said, "I forgot about that."
"It's great to see you old friend." Terrormite chirped.
"So should we start calling you Buzz now?" I ask.
"I like the sound of it," Buzz said.
"Buzz?" Ransack repeated. "That doesn't really sound like an Insecticon name."
"That's not very nice." Widow said in a reprimanding tone.
"He is right," Buzz said. "Buzz doesn't exactly instill fear."
"Shockwave showed me some of the human video games and in one of the war-based ones you could get an achievement called 'Buzzkill for defeating multiple enemies quickly." Hardshell supplied.
"I like it!" Buzzkill said, "I love shooting things!"
"I will admit that is a pretty cool name," Ransack said surprisingly.
"Wow Ransack, giving out compliments!" Widowmaker mocks.
"Of course it's nowhere as cool as my name." Ransack muses.
"Aaaaaaaand there it is," I say.
"You know me so well," Ransack replies sarcastically.
"Even all your flaws and insecurities." Widowmaker snides.
"And you said I was a low life?" Ransack snaps back.
"Yes I did, and I still stand by that fact," Widowmaker replied.
"Do they always fight this much?" Terrormite asked.
"Usually more." Razorhorn huffed with a laugh.
"It's very entertaining," Hardshell remarks.
"I can see that." Buzzkill snickers.
Once we finally get Widowmaker and Ransack to stop bickering, we head out to look for the next pod.
But suddenly there is a loud beeping coming from all of our navigational systems.
"What is it?" Hardshell asked slightly panicked, probably from the last time he heard an alarm.
"It's a distress signal," I say as I pull up the notification.
"From who? Is it from another Insecticon?" Buzzkill asked.
"It's not an Insecticon signal," I reply.
"Then who is it…?" Widowmaker hesitantly asks.
"It's from Alpha Trion."
