"Mitras has become a warzone. The yeagerist has declared war on the monarchy." Nikoli said.
"WHAT." Mr braus says. "Why."
"There are rumours that queen has fed poisoned soup to him as she was scared that eren would steal the throne from her."
"Nonsense."
"I don't know." He says as he looks inside. He sees Falco and gabi. "Those two came from Marley right."
"Yes."
"Protect them, some in the faction are rounding up mareleyans. I will tell you if anything happens."
"Ok, Nikoli."
Nikoli left as he turns to his family.
"What will happen to us?," Falco says with fear on his face.
"Nothing boy." He put his hand over the boy's shoulder, comforting him, "You are safe here."
Historia sits on her bed crying as she reads Eren's letter. Gunshots and bomb blast are heard outside. Some buildings even caught fire. on the ground dozens of dead bodies are present.
"Your majesty." joel comes in.
Historia looks at him, as she sees a gunshot wound on his shoulder.
"You are bleeding," Historia says.
"It's nothing," joel says. "Damn, these yeagerists are nuts. Why did anyone even allow them to enter."
"What is happening."
"We have driven those bastards out from the capital, but they are rioting everywhere. Especially at singhashina. Also, they successfully desecrated the capital"
"My daughter."
"She is safe. I have send reinforcement there."
"Thank you, Joel."
"It is is my duty." he salutes.
"Call an emergency meeting, quick.."
She is interrupted as a soldier arrive.
"Your majesty, singhashina has fallen."
"WHAT," Joel says.
"They-they has taken over the city, their leader, Uriel Gustav has crowned himself as supreme leader of eldia. They swore not to stop until they overthrow you. People are supporting him."
"Nonsense, after Floch's death they are nothing but an armed mob. We should take every garrison soldier and attack singhashina."
"No, attacking singhashina, Eren's home will only cause more bloodshed, they will get support from the whole country." historia says as she grabs Eren's letter. "This is the proof that I am innocent."
"His suicide note?" joel says.
"No, it is his letter to me and people of paradis." She says. "Ask the press to print it."
"Ok, your majesty," joel says as he takes the note.
"There is another thing." The soldier says.
"What," joel says.
"They stole sir's body while retreating."
"WHAT, NO NO." historia says as she starts to cry again.
"Let's go. I will ask them to print it on the front page," joel says as he and the soldier leaves.
"Why, why captain, why you left me at this worst time. Why leave paradis at this chaos."
In the morning in singhashina, Gustav and his men stand in Eren's 'now renovated' home, with eren's body on a bed.
"Why, you gave freedom to us and you could not even enjoy it." He says with tears.
"Supreme leader." One of the soldiers came in.
"What happened." He says as the soldier gives him a newspaper.
"The front page."
Gustav reads it as he tears the newspaper.
"NONSENSE! the government is lying."
"But people trust in government."
"Are you sure?" He says as he comes out of the house, with a large group surrounding it.
"People of singhashina. You read the newspaper right."
"YES!" they say.
"Do you believe in it? The lies of that queen."
"NO."
"Even if the whole nation is against us, will singhashina, the hometown of our saviour will devote their hearts."
"YES. YES."
"Not, only people of singhashina." Gustav turns to his right as an armed mob arrive. a man walks forward. "we are from all corners of maria. we support you, the queen will answer for her crimes."
"THAT'S THE SPIRIT.," Gustav says as he raises his fist. "so repeat after me, DEVOTE YOUR HEARTS."
"DEVOTE YOUR HEARTS, DEVOTE YOUR HEARTS" the crowd chant in unison.
Following days were chaotic, yeagerist started a full-scale war against the government. people of the rose region became the worst victims of war as they got in the crossfire. Finally, once yeagerist were outgunned, the government besieged singhashina, demanding them to surrender. After a year of the war, they finally give in. Gustav and other leaders were jailed for life. They buried eren at his home converting it into a tomb.
It was the time of winter, ever since the war, known as eldian civil war started both Falco and gabi remain hidden inside their home. The terrorism, done by yeagerist, murders of some marleyian pows, and the continuous gunshots and bomb blasts scared them, even though they themselves fought wars before.
Both kids were inside their room as they were for a year. Gabi was reading a book as she tried to be familiar with paradisian script, while Falco was looking outside through the cracks as their windows were covered with planks.
"Is something happening outside?," Gabi says.
"No, everything is clear," Falco says.
Gabi looks down as she opens the drawer and picks the newspaper 'times of paradis' printed by yeagerist.
'Gabi Braun and Falco grice, two marleyan warrior candidates, the enemy of paradis, if anyone brings their heads, they will be awarded 5000 silver coins.
Note- Gabi Braun is the cousin of Reiner Braun, the armoured titan, the devil of Marley, traitor of eldian blood, the archenemy of our saviour. If anyone brings her alive for trial, they will be awarded 5000 more.'
She was always terrified reading this, fearing anyone would attack their home to kill them or worse take her alive for the money.
They eventually stop talking to anyone except braus family. They even locked themselves inside whenever someone came.
"Gabi, stop reading this," Falco said as he snatched the paper from her.
She didn't resist as he threw it on the bed. She looked at his face as she saw the horizontal scar he got when a bullet managed to pierce the window and brushed against his right cheek.
The siege of draper was the worst time in their life as yeagerist used ODM gear to drop bombs from the sky while the government used anti-personal gear with thunder spears to hunt them. Every day was hell for them like it was when librieo was attacked. Even worse was that they used unethical means, she could not even think off. Finally, they were defeated by the government after three weeks.
She watched as Falco lay down on the bed, she sits next to him.
"Are you okay?" gabi asked.
"I can't sleep for some time. So much has happened in less than a year. We lost udo and Zofia, librieo is raided, colt died, the world is destroyed, mom, dad died. And when I thought everything will be fine, Mr Yeager died and hell broke..."
She stops listening as soon as she heard his name.
"Stop saying his name, that devil is the cause of our suffering while living he turned the world into hell, and even after death he gifted us this hell." She says as her eyes suddenly fall on the red scarf. "what did miss Mikasa even saw in him? I don't know."
"They were childhood friends, and don't judge the dead." He sighs as he says, "when this will end. I-I can't take it anymore. I don't think we will ever be able to live normally."
"We have survived a worse situation than this, we will survive this," she says.
He suddenly sits up as he says," but I don't want to survive, I want to live. I want to live freely." he holds gabi's hand while he nearly cried, "I want to spend my life with you, without being trapped in this room, under the fear that someone will kill me, for that stupid bounty."
"Falco.."
Suddenly they hear Mr braus calling them. They both came down during which Falco cover the lower part of his face with the scarf to hide the scar.
"Ben, Mia I have good news." He says.
Both of them ignore Mr braus calling them by their alias.
"The war is over, we won. the bounty over your head is removed."
"Really." They both asked.
"Yes. Well in next month Nicolo has invited us for reopening of his restaurant. What do you think?"
"Yes, we will go. It would be good to go out." Gabi says.
"Well, now that everything is going normal, you both should go outside and play with kaya and others."
"But, what if.."
"Mia." He sighs. "Is it good to live in fear? You are children, yet you suffered so much, you deserve all happiness right."
"Yes."
"So, go and play outside."
"Okay, Mr braus." Falco says smiling as they both go out.
They find kaya and others as she says, "You two finally came out."
"Yes, what are you playing?" gabi ask.
"We are playing catch."
"Okay, gabi you will catch others," Falco says.
"What! Fine I will catch you all." She says as they all start to play.
He stands on the deck of the ship with the help of a walking stick, sipping tea while looking at the endless waves and the morning sun.
"Good morning, captain." He turns to see a long blonde woman standing behind.
"Tch, I am no longer a captain. Stop calling me one." He looks forward again as the woman joins him. "My real plan was to just rot and die there, and meet my comrades in heaven, hell or whatever." he sips his tea again. "When I made that radio message, I just did that to ease my boredom. You really came to save me."
He turns to her, "Why?"
"Well, first of all, you are the only island eldian left in the outside world who can help us reaching paradis. As for the second, who does not want to have 'humanity's strongest soldier' on their side." she smiles.
"Humanity's strongest soldier." he chuckles sipping his tea. " Is there even humans left?"
"More than you think."
"Ya, in that 'Paradise'."
"Actually, excluding paradis."
He looks at her in disbelief "Really?"
"Yes, Hizuru isn't trampled much, some Marleyians survived the rumbling by their boats, also people in 'Great Mountains' seemingly survived."
"What the hell are these 'Great Mountains.'" He says thinking who were lucky enough.
"I will tell you, just follow me."
He goes down with her with some hope reviving in him.
