It was about time, they would strike the fatal blow against Vale. His Queen put him under Cinder's command, Cinder told him to do as he wished.
He shall not disappoint.
It was far to crazy to believe; Maidens, Fairy Tales, Magic. All real.
She shouldn't be as shocked as she is. I mean, her arms literally caught fire yesterday out of nowhere. The flames weren't even stopped by submerging them in water for crying out loud. It was horrendous to think that she had some crazy power.
She wasn't even including the fact that her Uncle knew about such a thing and was apparently part of some secret group led by Beacon's headmaster.
It was all to confusing, she couldn't even tell her team about it. All she could say was that her semblance seemed to evolve (like they would buy such an excuse).
All she could do was wait for tomorrow, then they would start training her in these new powers.
He starred at the screen, the most recent battle in the Vital Festival had gone swimmingly for Emerald and Mercury. They were getting closer and closer to the hour which would spark the embers for Cinder's blazing inferno.
He was currently camped out at a forest just some distance from the city of Vale. It would have been nice if not for the presence of a certain Rat. Said Rat was currently checking his body for any sign of battle damage. So he had to surpress any feeling of disgust at the man for the time being.
Adam was also watching the screen with, what he can assume to be, a dangerous glint in his eyes. The Faunus had scrunched his face in hatred when he saw team Rwby's first match and his eyes were glaring holes into the poor TV during their second match. Grievous could only sigh; Adam was a brilliant man, but he was obsessive with one single girl.
It was an eerie reminding of just how far the ghost would go to hamper his efforts.
If he could just break Adam out of his obsession then maybe he wouldn't be such a harsh reminder of his own passenger.
The Festival was going amazing, even with her arms going up in flames once more. Her team was going to the final round, they just had to waited for nightfall. As she walked through the Festival grounds she saw a heartwarming sight; Ren and Nora were out with the rest of her team.
It had been so long since she had seen the other half of their sister team. It almost seemed as though they had left Beacon entirely, yet they didn't.
Tonight was going to be a night to remember for sure.
He hated how much he was going to have to remember tonight. The ghost had started up once more. Its nagging voice was like a thousand small needles piercing into his psyche.
The moment it saw his friends. They were all doing well, or as well as they could be. Miss Nikos seemed to have grown far more reclusive since the last time they had clashed. Ren and Nora were a far different story though.
If the online articles were to be believed then the pair had taken to shadowing highly skilled hunters rather than more training at Beacon.
All it meant to him was that the voice was chattering up a storm that he could not ignore for his life.
The voice exists in his head, not like it can just think quietly.
That's besides the point, we're almost starting the final round of the Tournament.
As much as she would hesitate to admit it, it was fun fighting Mercury. The boy posed a real challenge to her, his kicks countering her punches at numerous points throughout the fight. It was hard fought on both ends, then the buzzer sounded.
The boy had run out of aura.
What a disappointing way to end the fight.
His approached her to shake her hand, she held out her own.
Then she felt sick. She felt as though something was trying to worm it's way into her head.
It was only for a second but she just stuck with her gut.
And her gut said something was wrong.
Grievous just watched as an explosion of fire consumed Yang's left arm. The buzzer had just recently sounded and the two were walking to shake hands. The voice seemed to be trying to be positive, but it knew what was coming soon.
Of course he didn't expect the shells in Ember Celica's left gauntlet to combust into flames.
The entire audience was also in shock.
Could it have been sabotage ?
Had something gone wrong with the loading mechanism ?
Was Yang trying to fake a sabotage ?
It was hard to call but it wasn't long before medical personnel were on scene. The announcers (Port and Oobleck) were calling for everyone to remain calm and that they would sort it out later.
He just watched as Yang was escorted out by medical personnel while Mercury followed close behind.
It wasn't supposed to go like this. The effect could still be felt but it was not supposed to go like this. She was supposed to break his leg with a punch, not have her arm combust into flames.
Well, it seems the power of the Maiden's only grew more interesting every moment he observed them.
She was close to tearing her hair out.
Emerald could only watch as Cinder fumed over an error in her plans. Grievous had informed them that he had sent them another Maiden in Beacon. With how close they had been to striking they were assured in the fact that she couldn't grow fast enough to stand in there way.
They were half right.
She definitely wasn't strong enough to stop them, but she was getting in their way none the less.
She just hoped that this error would be remedied by their next course of action.
Grievous stood alongside Adam as they watched the screen. Some Huntress from Beacon was in the midst of a duel with Penny. The whole battle was quite intense with swords and laser flying all around.
The one of Penny's wire wrapped around her body.
And severed her from shoulder to thigh.
That was the signal they were waiting for. It was time to load up and cause chaos. The many squads of White Fang loaded themselves into Bullheads while Grievous entered a personal one.
They were going to the Festival grounds and city to wreck havoc.
He was going right for Beacon itself.
It was chaos.
The moment Penny was cut in half the world went crazy.
A mysterious voice started on the speakers. Ranting on about the incapablities of Hunters, while blaming Atlas and Ozpin for many issues that Vale had been pressed with.
The White Fang began landing with armed troops and heavy weapons.
And worst of all...
Pyrrha was missing.
The world had lost itself less than half an hour ago, and all Ruby could do was watch as it began burning.
Now, I know this chapte was shorter than usual. I wanted to split the Battle of Beacon into two chapters. This was the precursor before it all started going down. See you all next chapter.
