Vampire University
Chapter 8
Since they were paying cash they didn't need a mortgage and didn't need a credit check. While Patrick found letting Alexis do all the signing a bit strange instead of the mother he didn't say anything about it.
Kate and Alexis, however, got a taste of the paperwork to purchase something. Transfer of title and things neither of them had ever heard of. This was when they found out the cost of other things like taxes. Over 29k in taxes that took them a little over 400k to purchase the boat.
Now they had to pay for insurance, power, monthly slip charges, food, and anything else that came up like gas. All with no actual income. Just what was left of their original one million.
"Here are the keys. Welcome to your new home." He shook both of their hands and watched them leave. He was happy the inspector had given them a name of someone to teach them how to sail their own boat.

With keys in hand they had a day as volunteers at the blood bank. They arrived and stayed outside away from everyone while Alexis pulled aside her top and bra strap where no one could see them. "Drink and make it fast."
Kate really hated to do this but she had little choice. She wasn't going to last the day and perhaps not even do her job. She felt Alexis flinch when she bit her and was careful to only take what she needed.
"Let's go and find out what they want us to do." Alexis put herself back together and went around the building and inside.
They soon learned that once a week they got a delivery of empty bags, tubing, IV needles, syringes, food, and orange juice, amongst other items and it was their job to unbox it all and store it all in its proper place.
Since they didn't know where that was they had someone to show them. Back there were also the refrigerators to store the blood. So after each donation someone would come into the back room where they were, make sure the bag was tagged properly, and stored in the correct refrigerator for each blood type.

Kate and Alexis went to their hotel room, checked out, and traveled to what was now their new home. Once there Kate took her blood bag that Alexis had snatched when no one was looking just before leaving and put it into the refrigerator. That one blood bag should last her for at least 2 weeks. They only volunteered once a week so Kate should be fine so long as every 2 weeks they could snatch one blood bag and not get caught.
Alexis joined her as she met her in the kitchen. "Well, we're home." Alexis said with a smile. "Grab your backpack and let's see where our clothing storage goes."
"We need to do laundry tomorrow, that or go shopping for more clothes. …Please." Kate wanted some form of normalcy.
"It's too late today but I'm hungry so time to find a restaurant," Alexis said.

A & B Lobster House looked like a good choice and it was close.
Filet Mignon, potato gratin, and asparagus. Kate sat there and watched Alexis cut up her steak and moan with nearly every bite. "Are you having an orgasm?" Kate teased her.
"Not just yet, but I'll let you know when I do." Alexis grinned at her and kept eating.
"I officially like this place. There's another restaurant over there. Ooo, a tiki bar," Alexis said. "Whatever that is."
"So there's something you don't know?" Kate questioned her.
"Dad didn't tell me everything. I'm only 18 years old, Mom." Alexis glared at her. "Let's go home, our new home. And you better not snore." Alexis pointed at her.
"Me? What about you? And I'm a princess and princesses do not snore," Kate told her yet again.

Alexis was lounging inside with the TV, trying to find something to watch. They had cable TV after all. "At least we have a TV."
"Does it play classic music?" Kate sat down and actually snuggled in next to Alexis and looked at the TV.
"NO! It's a TV, not a radio, and the bathroom's too far for me to hurl," Alexis razzed her and this time she got punched in the arm for her tease.
"This is going to be so much fun," Kate commented and took hold of Alexis's arm. "Are you sure it doesn't have a radio?" Kate grinned at her.

While they both knew it because Alexis had packed Kate's backpack for her to keep her from putting stupid stuff in it, they both found themselves wearing panties and a sleep shirt to bed.
"Left or right, Mother dear?" Alexis let her go first.
"Um, left." Kate selected a side since somehow that was the side she always slept on but she didn't understand why.
"Good." Alexis crawled into the bed on the right side and slipped under the covers. "Night, Mom."
Kate crawled and slid under the covers. "Night, Daughter. And if you snore I'll kick you."
Alexis opened her mouth to get back at her but she didn't have a snappy remark so she crossed her arms across her chest and sulked instead.

"What are we doing out here, boss?" Lanie was with Castle again and they were just barely off University property.
"Those Dragomis made it to the outside wall without anyone knowing about it. Then they managed to kill the cameras in the library without anyone seeing how they did that. So how did they do those two things? Answer me that.
"We all assume that they're stupid animals that couldn't even tie their own shoelaces, if they wore shoes," Rick began. "But what if at least one or more of them weren't?"
"Just when I was starting to like you again. You take me to all these seriously romantic locations," Lanie teased him. "Assume you're right for a moment. That would mean at least one of them's in charge and teaching them how to do this.
"So they cover their tracks to get this far or they didn't travel in a straight line. If you were a Dragomis where would you hide and teach all the others?" Lanie asked him.
"Somewhere I could hide and yet close enough to attack us. But all there are are trees and low rolling hills." Rick was frustrated. "We need a drone! Let's go." He was ready to go back and get a drone for each of them. "And infrared. They got here somehow. Maybe they left a trail we can't see."
"Okay, I like you again." Lanie walked with him back to the car.

A couple of hours later and they were both back and this time they had more toys.
"BOSS!" Lanie yelled. That had Rick setting his drone into an automatic grid search and joined her. "Take a look at this." Lanie thought she had found something.
"Virginia has caves?" That was a shock to Rick. He'd lived there all his life but hadn't really thought about caves till now. "It looks more like a gash in the ground." He was thinking a cave was more like a mining cave. It went into the side of a mountain. This one clearly did not.
"And if you suggest we search it I'm going to go back to hating you," Lanie warned him and listened to him chuckle.
"If – and maybe it's a big if – but what if they're in there? That could be home to them and no, we're not going down there. I only look stupid but that doesn't mean I am stupid," Rick told her and ignored the grin on her face. "The big question is what do we do about it?"
They both knew neither of their drones could stay out here and watch indefinitely. They could set up a surveillance cameras but that would allow the two spies in the Security Tower learn that they'd found something.
"Blow it up," Lanie suggested and watched him turn to look at her. "It would take them a while to dig out. And give us time to work on our spies."
"That's why I like you, Lanie. If it's worth doing it's worth overdoing. It still means we're going to have to get pretty close to set them," Rick mentioned.
"Satchel charges. How's your throwing arm?" Lanie asked him.
"The drawback is that this is going to draw attention from the humans. They're going to come out here and look. If this doesn't work like we want it to, we just added to their numbers. Not to mention having someone come out to the University to speak to us about it. To try and find out what we know," Rick cautioned. "If they spot our car they're going to know we were in the area."
"That's why you're the boss," Lanie remarked.
"Let's go, we need to plan this out. Maybe a dirt bike instead of a car. How's your riding skill?" Rick questioned her.
"Do I get to jump something and I don't mean that kind of jump." Lanie cut him off at the pass.
"I would never dream of asking such a question. But now that you've brought it up..." Rick grinned at her.
"I think I hate you again," Lanie grumbled and recalled her drone since they had a plan for this cave. "You think it has a backdoor somewhere?"
"If at least one of them is as smart as we think it is, you better believe it. And until we find it we can't blow this side just yet." It also meant coming back out here to keep searching.
\0/ V-V \0/
Alexis woke up and found herself on her side. Not overly unusual save for the fact there was someone in her bed this time. Kate, she saw, may have started out on her back, actually both of them had, but right now she was on her stomach and still appeared to be sleeping.
"At least you didn't snore," Alexis murmured.
"Princesses don't snore," Kate told her which let Alexis know that she was awake.
"Well, I need a shower," Alexis announced and crawled out of bed. The only way onto the bed and back out of it was to crawl over the foot of the bed. The side was all boat. "And I promise not to use up all the hot water, Princess."
"I think I prefer Mom to Princess." Kate adjusted how she was lying there and waited for her turn in the shower.
\0/ V-V \0/
They were both clean and dressed. "What do we do on our first day?" Kate was curious since they had a number of options.
"First thing? Grocery shopping. Second, we clean the boat like we were told. He didn't think the man that owned it was doing his job so we need to do it better," Alexis said since she'd been thinking about it while Kate showered.
"In swimsuits, no doubt." Kate wasn't going to get soaking wet any other way.
"Then we need to call this ladies' man so he can teach us how to run and sail this boat and if he gets handsy I'll break him in two," Alexis promised.
Kate wanted to say something but she wasn't really her mother. They were just playing at it no matter how much fun it might be. She suspected that Alexis was alone. Yes, she had her father but he wasn't the man in her life.
"You get to carry the groceries." Alexis was betting a bike ride was going to be needed.
\0/ V-V \0/
Even though the pantry had been full when they had toured the boat, the previous owner hadn't left them much of anything. Alexis had searched the kitchen just to be sure and had found nearly nothing. She was wondering if he ate out all the time. She had no intention of doing that no matter how tasty it might be.
\0/ V-V \0/
Kate had gone everywhere Alexis had. They needed to be joined at the hip. Alexis was her only protection and while no one should know where they were, they simply couldn't take that risk.
"Here, hold my groceries." Kate was already in her seat and ready to go home so she got to hold what Alexis had bought.
Once home Alexis put her groceries away while Kate was in the bedroom putting on her swimsuit in preparation for cleaning the boat. She was done and waiting while Alexis changed.
"Why do I get the brush?" Alexis asked her as Kate picked up the hose to plug into the water.
"Because you're younger and have more muscles than I do. Plus I'm your mother and I said so." Kate grinned at her and went to plug in the hose so she could get the boat wet.
"Oh that certainly clears it up…Mother." Suddenly Alexis wondered why she had a mother. First her dad ordered her around and now her mother was doing the same.
"FINE, but you still have a swimming lesson and we still have a pool." Alexis got back at her and was satisfied when she moaned.
\0/ V-V \0/
It turned out washing the boat wasn't all that hard. They simply got wet doing it, hence the bikinis. They also noticed that they both had the attention of anyone in the marina. It wasn't everyday that two lovely women wearing bikinis were out washing their boat.
"There, nice and clean." Alexis stood there holding her brush and looked it over; she was proud of herself. "So what else do we clean?" Alexis questioned Kate. "And all you have to do is hang up your suit since you're wearing it tomorrow during your swimming lesson."
"Maybe I should just drown myself," Kate muttered, not really meaning it.
"And deny Dad the opportunity to tie you to the bed and do evil things to your body?" Alexis asked and glared at her.
"Good point. Fine. I'll learn to swim." Kate caved in since she really did want to get back and figure out how to be with Castle.
Alexis smiled sweetly. "I thought that would get you."
\0/ V-V \0/
Now just calling anyone meant finding a phone and paying to use it. Getting the guy, Fred Anderson, out here meant they had to wait almost 2 entire weeks for him to teach them how to sail their boat.
"Just think, Mom, you'll know how to swim when he throws you overboard when our boom swings around and knocks you off." Alexis grinned at her.
"And I'll take a nice long walk so you two can be alone," Kate retaliated. Kate saw the look she gave her. Now while she had avoided this topic she couldn't keep doing that.
"Alexis, I'm not really your mother so you can tell me. Have you been with any man at all?" Kate inquired. "Don't look at me like that. Why do you think I want your father to kiss me? Why I want him to tie me to the bed?"
"I've spent all my time training. I don't have time for that," Alexis told her, not that she really wanted to talk about it. Suddenly she found herself in Kate's arms.
"This first time hurts, I'll admit, but after that it gets a lot better. A whole lot better. You don't want to be that woman. Men can be really nice. You just have to find the right one," Kate told her.
"And a ladies' man is the right one?" Alexis snapped.
"Well no, not him obviously. But men have something that can make a woman out of you. You don't have to be PWd if you don't want to. You like being in control so be in control with him," Kate suggested.
"PW?" Alexis hadn't heard that term before.
Kate rolled her eyes. "Prick whipped. Meaning you'll do anything to get your hands on his manhood."
"Oh, well I'm not doing that." There was no way she was doing that.
"So do the opposite. Tie him to the bed and do evil things to his body. Listening to him beg you to let him climax could be just what you want to hear and do. Be in charge, be on top, and tease him till he's begging you. That he'll literally do anything so long as you stop teasing him. Just find the right man. Someone that interests you," Kate urged her.
"I'll think about it." Alexis had no idea when she would think about it but she might eventually.
"So what type of man interests you? Tall, handsome obviously, funny maybe? I know you like muscles, lots of muscles." Kate saw the look Alexis gave her. "Definitely muscles. I'll keep my eyes open for a handsome man with muscles that you can tie to the bed."
"Thanks." Alexis didn't mean thanks, she meant the opposite. Her life currently revolved around keeping Kate alive and she didn't have time to find a man with muscles or not, let alone tie him to the bed.
"I don't think our bed will allow that actually." It had storage under it so no real legs to attach anything to.
"There's a nice big hotel right over there." Kate pointed at it and laughed at the look Alexis gave her.

Rick had the data he was after and knew he was going to have to figure out how this stuff got into this University so he could intercept it.
Lysergic acid diethylamide, Heroin hydrochloride, Eszopiclone. He had never heard of such a thing. One was a hallucinogenic, one was a derivative of morphine, while the other was a sedative.
"It will make the recipient very lethargic, unable to understand what's happening, and the other is very addictive. They'll want it and eventually do anything they can to get more of it. Where did you get this?" Rick was told and questioned.
"Thanks. I'll handle it. We did not talk about this," Rick told him and got confirmation that he was never there.
\0/ V-V \0/
"So are we looking for the back door today?" Lanie inquired. They had two drones to play with.
Rick shook his head. "Not today. I have another job for you. I need you to track and verify everything that's shipped into the University. That substance you found that Davidson's using is really bad stuff. Part hallucinogenic, part sedative, and part highly addictive.
"We need to figure out where he's getting it from. So that's your job. I'm still trying to figure out how the two in Security are signaling out of the University. I'd bet money that they sent a signal for that one attack by the Dragomis. But what did they hope to achieve by such a small attack? Kate's quarters aren't even anywhere near the library. And why leave it to them to attack her? Something's going on and I need to figure out what that something is."
"Fear comes to mind," Lanie mentioned. "Those things scare me let alone the students."
Rick considered that. "Could it be that simple? If so there'll be another one soon. One that actually succeeds in doing just that. Striking fear throughout the University in preparation for something bigger.
"Just find how this stuff gets in here. Or where and how he mixes it and applies it to the restraints. If this takes time, so be it. Something tells me they have a long game in mind." Rick was thinking they were willing to let it take months.
