"YO, KIRISHIMA! WHAT'S WRONG, DUDE?" Denki asked his friend who remained rooted where he stood looking over the chicken wire fence on one of UA High's rooftops.
On the rooftop of the building across from where he, Denki, Sero and Mina chose to eat lunch today, he happened to catch Midoriya and Bakugo having lunch together. Well, Midoriya brought Bakugo a wrapped lunch and Midoriya was just sitting beside him keeping him company.
Kirishima couldn't understand why his chest felt tight and his fists wanted to harden and punch something to a damn pulp. So what if those two were hanging out in secret? They're secretly together, aren't they? What does he care?
So what if Katsuki demanded he kiss him the other night? He needed to practice so that he won't fuck up royally when making out with his damn boyfriend, didn't he?
Now he can practice what he learned from that stupid experiment with Midoriya.
Dammit! He snapped and tore his eyes from the couple on the opposite rooftop. He turned his back on them and joined Denki and the others. They were heading back to their classroom to start their afternoon class. Today was a full day of theory classes; no practical classes, which was a bummer because he really wanted to smash shit up.
"You okay, man?" Denki frowned, worried about his friend's up-and-down mood this past few days.
"Yeah," he grunted. "I'm cool," he added and reached for the door before it closed and held it open.
"You sure?" The blond with black lightning-shaped streak on his hair didn't sound convinced. "You've been acting off this past few days," he pointed out.
"Was I?" Kirishima feigned innocence. "I thought I was being my usual, normal self," he chuckled.
"Denki's right," Mina piped in. She was a few steps ahead down the stairs of the two. "What happened?"
"Nothing," he denied.
"Liar," Mina accussed.
"I swear!" He insisted. "I just got stuff on my mind, that's all," he shrugged.
"Stuff like what?" Mina wouldn't drop the subject off, especially now that they were on it. It seems like his friends were just waiting for an opening to ask him, and when they found that opening they seized it and pounced on him.
"Stuff like what should I do after graduation." He wasn't really lying. He had been thinking about what he wanted to do after he graduate.
Everybody assumed they'd sign up with an agency and continue doing hero work, but not everybody wanted to continue in that line of work, especially those whose quirks aren't that strong to fight off a hoard of villains.
"An agency's gonna snatch you up right outta high school," Sero said without an ounce of doubt.
"Shouldn't you be saying that about yourself?" Kirishima made a face at his friend's way of thinking.
"Don't worry, I'm cheering myself on too," Sero chuckled.
The foursome continued their conversation all the way back to the classroom. Kirishima just half listened to what they were saying while his mind kept drifting back to that scene on the rooftop between Bakugo and Midoriya.
Something about it rubbed him the wrong way and he can't freaking explain what it was!
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Hi! Sorry for the delay on updating this chapter, and also for the short chapter. RL got busy, plus I struggled a bit on finishing this chapter. I'm hoping to get the next chapter posted before the end of this week *fingers crossed*. Thanks for sticking around and reading this first attempt of mine writing an MHA/BNHA fanfic. Lemme know what you think so far in the comments!
