Here's the follow-up to what Chapter Seven left off and how the headquarters turned into a spider-infested area. If you have a fear of spiders, like I do, then try to not imagine them as scary monsters. Enjoy and follow if you're interested in more stories.
Trooper's Guide Through Life: Chapter Eight- "While You Were Gone.."
Pride Trooper's Headquarters, Negotiation Room (One Hour and Thirty Minutes Later)
After taking care of the spider infestation (Due to Jiren mostly taking care of everything), the sixth members of the elite group are in the negotiation room. Kasheral is both mad and confused of what happened to the headquarters, while he was gone getting Top, Jiren, and Dyspo from the ship incident. He's now sitting with the six members, in his serious expression. "Kettle? What happened, while I was gone. Before I went to get the three, I told you to take care of the elite group and the headquarters in my absence." said Kasheral. Kettle makes a nervous expression, trying to explain of what happened. "Uh...General? I was in control for a few minutes, until...the scientist told us that one of the experimental spiders from the lab, escaped, got into the enlargement serum, and...Uh..." said Kettle, as he freezes mid sentence. Cocotte finishes the sentence, by saying that the spider gained sentience and took over the headquarters within one hour. "We tried to stop the threat from expanding to the city, but Kettle was too nervous about what orders to make! I told you that putting him in charge was a bad decision!" said Cocotte. Kasheral needs more information from just the two members, so he goes to the cameras to have a more understanding of the problem. He turns on the cameras, watches the various scenes of the headquarter's floors and areas. Most of them have troopers running away from an army of large spiders and one humanoid female spider. "Let's go back to five hours ago. I need more information on how the hell happened, while I was gone." said Kasheral, as he rewinds the cameras to five hours ago. The six other members either have sweats pouring down on their faces, or have blushes on their cheeks. As he rewinds the cameras, we'll be going back to five hours into the past, for a better perspective on the whole spider infestation problem. Shall we?
*Flashback- (Pride Trooper's Headquarters, Ships Area/Five Hours Ago)
Kasheral: (Answers his communicator) Hello? Top...The ship is what!? Out of gas!?...you want me to come and pick you guys up?...Okay. I'll be here in five hours, since you three are in an asteroid belt. Gotcha! I'll be right here! Out! (Hangs up) Agh. While I'm gone, I have to pick someone to watch over the headquarters for me. But who? (Rubs his chin) (It has to be second close to me, so...I guess the best pick for temporal general would have to be…) (Sees Kettle walk into the area) Kettle!
Kettle: (Sees Kasheral) General!
Kasheral: (Walks up to Kettle) I want you to do something for me. Can you become a temporal general for the headquarters for me? I have to pick up Top, Jiren, and Dyspo from space.
Kettle: What happened to them?
Kasheral: From what I've heard, they got stuck in a middle of space, after losing all of the ship's gas fuel. Now they need back up to get them back. For the time being, I want you to watch the team, while I'm gone. It's the easiest job to get. Got it, Kettle?
Kettle: (Salutes to Kasheral) Okay!
Kasheral: Okay! Be back in five hours! (Runs to a near by ship, starts it up, and flies away)
Kettle: (Sighs, while leaving the area) (Me being the general? This is a good opportunity to be a leader. But why me? I'm not even that strong as Kasheral, and he has the most experience from all of us together. I better make sure nothing bad happens to the team and the headquarters. Nothing is going to happen, while I'm in charge.) (Walks down the hallways)
Forty Minutes Later…
Kettle: (Sees the rest of the team in the middle of the hallways) Hey, guys! I got some good news! (Runs to the team)
Tupper: (Sees Kettle) Kettle!
Cocotte: (Sees Kettle) What seems to be the good news?
Kettle: Kasheral got assigned me to be temporal general for the next five hours. He's off to get the three members that left for a mission.
Zoiray: Hahahahaha! That has to be the worst decision that he has ever made! You suck as a leader! Hahahaha! (Laughs on the floor on his back)
Vuon: He is right, Kettle. (Looks at Kettle) You...suck at managing orders.
Kettle: (Makes a surprising expression) What!? I do not! Name one instance, where my leadership skills was not the best!
Kunshi: I know! Remember the time, where me, you, and Vuon were going a mission on Planet Cotton?
Kettle: (Looks at Kunshi) I remember.
Kunshi: When you gave the orders to attack the monsters that were destroying the cotton props, one of us got bitten in the ass. (Points to Vuon) He had to get five needle shots to the left butt cheek! Haha! It was fun to see him squirm, but it shows that your leaderships skills are trash!
Vuon: (blushes) I told you not to bring that one up! Ugh!
Kettle: I know that attacking the monsters was a bad idea and I should had done something different, but this time...this time is different! I just have to watch the headquarters and you guys! It's the easiest objective for a leader to have. (Closes his eyes, crosses his arms, and nods his head)
Cocotte: Yeah...I would like to see you try.
(Red Alarm rings)
Kettle: An emergency!
Speakers: Attention! There has been a breach in the science lab! All Freshman through junior troopers go into your rooms for safety! Let the elites take care of the situation! Out!
Kunshi: (Makes a cocky expression to Kettle) So, "leader"? What's the plan now!?
Kettle tells the team to go to the lab to check on the situation at hand. Some of them laugh, before leaving the group to the lab. It takes them a few minutes to get to the lab. Once there, they see a lot of scientist running out of the lab in fear. Kettle is able to make out of what's the source of the problem. A figure walks to the team in a slow pace. It comes into the light, showing it's true form. It's a female hybrid of a spider. With it's thorax as it's butt, fangs in it's mouth, venom dripping out of it's mouth, and four thin legs coming out of it's back, it stares at the team with one of the most seductive, yet terrifying expressions. Zoiray and Kunshi fall to the ground from nose bleeds, after looking at the true form of the threat, Cocotte just makes a disgusted face, looking at it, like it was grossed out by it (for which she was). Vuon and Kettle just blush, while Tupper covers his face. "What is that!? Is that the threat!?" said Tupper. Kettle does see a lot of spiders coming from the same spot, where the hybrid was. He tells her to call off the spiders and come with them for some questions. Since the hybrid doesn't know any language, it screeches, calls all of the spiders to attack the team, and starts climbing on a near by wall. The spiders charge at the team, ready to sink their fangs into their skin. "Now what!?" Said Cocotte, as she faces Kettle, who has a nervous expression. "The first thing that we need to do is...RUN!" said Kettle as he runs away from the spiders. Vuon grabs Zoiray and Kunshi from the ground, runs after Kettle, and the rest follow ahead. The spiders fill up the hallways in a black cover. They spread their cobwebs on the walls, floors, and doors of the building. The six run as fast as they can, until Kettle sees a near by door to the negotation room. "Let's go in here!" said Kettle as he opens the door, lets the rest of them in, and closes the door, before the spiders are able to get in. He shuts the door with various items in the room. The other five take breathers, before making angry faces at Kettle. "What the hell, man!? We were almost spider food to that hot, sexy spider bitch!" said Kunshi as he continues to catch his breath. Kettle turns around, counting the members, until he realizes that they're missing one. "Where's Tupper?" said Kettle as he hear some banging on the door. "Hey! Let me in! I'm afraid of spiders! AHHHH!" said Tupper as he's being attacked by spiders from outside of the room. Kettle quickly removes the items away from the doors, opens the door, and doesn't see Tupper or the spiders near the door. He shuts the door, turns to the rest of the team, and tells them the bad news.
Kettle: Tupper just got kidnapped by some spiders.
Kunshi: (Angrily points at Kettle) I told you! Being the leader is hard work and Kasheral should have picked one of us to be the leader.
Kettle: Actually...he wouldn't.
Kunshi: (Looks at Kettle) And why not?
Kettle: (Points at Kunshi) Because you're too easily distracted by a hot, sexy enemy like the spider hybrid; (Points at Vuon) You don't have the balls to make the first step in defending the whole team; (Points at Cocotte) You only care about your own safety; (Points at Zoiray) Same goes for Kunshi! There! I just said it! You all would have been terrible leaders!
Vuon: (eyes widen) Whoa! I can't believe that you would say those about us!
Kettle: Yeah, now shut up! I have to get Tupper back, save the headquarters from those bastards, and take care of the spider bitch! Who's with me!?
Team: I'm in!
Kettle: Now...One of us will have to search for Tupper, one of us will have to take care of the spiders running around the headquarters, and one of us will have to capture that hybrid. Come close. I got a plan!
The rest of the team gets close to their temporal leader for the next plan. Kettle whispers to the team of his new plan to get the headquarters back to normal. After that, they leave the negotiation room and split up. Kettle and Cocotte are going to get the hybrid, Kunshi and Zoiray are going to find Tupper, and Vuon will take care of the spiders. This plan will never fail. Or will it!? Thirty minutes later, Kettle and Cocotte see the hybrid, making more spiders by spitting them out of her mouth. "Gah! That's gross!" said Cocotte as she covers her mouth in disgust. Kettle tells her to create a barrier around them, so that they won't get bitten by the spiders. She hears her, creates a barrier around them, and slowly walks to the hybrid. Meanwhile, Kunshi and Zoiray are looking for Tupper around the same hallway, where the negotiation room is. They see a bunch of cocoons on the walls and on the ceilings. "Oh my god! The spiders are putting the juniors into cocoons!" said Kunshi as he uses his energy threads to remove the cocoons from the walls and ceiling. Once they have all of the cocoons down, they find one big one, squirming and screaming from under all of the cobwebs. "Hello! Is anyone here! HELP!" said the cocoon. Zoiray knows that voice from somewhere. "Tupper! I'm coming, buddy!" said Zoiray as he shots his energy blast at the cocoon, releasing Tupper. He falls on the ground on his face, breathing in and out. "It w-was a horrible experience." said Tupper as he rolls himself off of the floor, shakes in fear, and sees the two members. "Wait! You have a fear of spiders!? Haha! This is hilarious, that I can't stop laughing!" said Kunshi, as he sees a few spiders coming towards them. The other two see this, Tupper runs away, scared of being trapped again, and the other guys follow him. Vuon, on the other hand, is having a bit trouble with the pest control. He uses his Justice Whip to sweep the spiders to a near by corner, but it's not working. They just keep coming out of no where to counter him. "This was a bad idea to put me in controlling the infestation! Curses, Kettle!" said Vuon as the spiders get up on his legs, and begin to wrap him in spider webs. Back to Kettle and Cocotte, they seem to be getting close to the hybrid. Once they have a safe distance, between the barrier that they're in and the hybrid, Kettle knocks on the barrier from the inside to get it's attention.
Kettle: Miss? Or...spider hybrid?
Hybrid: (Looks at Kettle in the barrier) …
Kettle: I want you to just stop the infestation and come with us. There's no need for us to get physical and fight each other. We don't want one of your children to get hurt. Now don't we?
Cocotte: Really, Kettle!? That's your plan!? (Looks at Kettle with an angry expression)
Kettle: (Looks at Cocotte) SHH! Not now! It will work! (Looks at the hybrid) So… what do you say? Do you agree to the statements?
Hybrid: … (nods at Kettle)
Kettle: It took the agreement! Cocotte!? Remove the barrier!
Cocotte: Okay! (Removes the barrier)
Kettle: (Smiles) It's great that you are more smart than we thought that you were. (Holds out his hand) Let's shake on it! (Steps a few steps forwards, until he steps on one of the spiders by accident) Uh...(Looks at the squashed spider under his boot) S-Sorry!
Hybrid: (makes an angry expression, screeches in rage, and points to Kettle and Cocotte)
Cocotte: Good job, leader! Now she's mad! (Sees the spiders coming close to them) Now what!?
Kettle: The only plan that always works, in my opinion...RUN AGAIN! (Runs away from the hybrid)
Cocotte: Oh...the hell with it! (Runs after Kettle) I don't want webs in my hair!
The two run away from the spiders as much as they can, but the spiders are a bit quicker than they are. They soon catch up to them, wrap them in cobwebs, and stick them onto the walls. Kunshi, Zoiray, and Tupper also get kidnapped by the cobwebs and are stuck on the walls near them. Vuon soon later joins them. They stay in their spider cocoons, thinking of what would have happened, if Kettle wasn't in charge of the team for five straight hours! This goes on and on, until Kettle sees four figures coming towards them. Jiren, Dyspo, Top and Kasheral come back from the pick up, seeing them, the hallways, and the headquarters in spider webs. Kasheral soon removes them from their cocoons, tells the guys to take care of the spiders, and angrily stares at Kettle. We fast forward to today's events, after the general is done with the camera feedback.
*Flashback ends
Kasheral: (Looks at the team in disgust) That was a disaster! How come the headquarters got turned into a spider cave, after I left!? (Looks at Kettle) The first rule in an emergency, is to have the general or the strongest member of the elite group to investigate the issue, without the team. You forgot about that one!?
Kettle: (Looks away) I'm sorry! The team was making fun of how I run the group. As a matter of fact,...(Looks at Kasheral with an angry expression) Why did you picked me, instead of someone else!?
Kasheral: Because...you were the closest one to being as strong as I am. I looked over your papers and you were the closest power level to mine, so…
Cocotte: (Angrily stares at Kasheral) that has to be the stupidest excuse I ever heard! Kettle can't run a group properly, you picked him for a stupid reason over power level, and I got webs in my hair, because of you!
Kasheral: It's going to be okay. I just got words from Top that the hybrid is in custody and we will ask her some questions. If and when she'll learn how to understand us. For now...I'm back in charge and you all need to clean up. Now!
Team: Okay! (Leaves the room)
Kasheral: (sighs, while closing his eyes) (All of this is my fault. I should have picked someone else to take care of the back up mission, while I stay at the headquarters. Kettle can't be the blame for this, so I'll take the blame for him. He needs to be understanding of the choices that he makes as a leader. I'll teach him that on another day this week. For now. I have to clean the hallways that the spiders left and make sure that the other troopers are alright.) (Leaves the room)
