Here's chapter 8 of TBL. I know it's been a while but I hope you guys will accept this and please be patient with me. Thanks for the support guys!
Yugi stretched to the early morning alarm. He shut it off quickly before he got up and got dressed. He was determined to go see his grandpa today and Atem promised to take him. He smiled as he finished getting ready and ran out of his room.
Running down the hall he didn't see the servant coming and ran full force into them knocking them down.
"Shit I'm so sorry." Yugi said helping them pick up the towels. He froze when he saw the dagger hidden in one of the towels. Wait this servant was heading towards Atem and Yami's room. He picked it up and hid it behind him. "here you go." He handed a towel to them. He quickly made his escape and ran to a guard.
"Yugi?" the guard he'd known as Titan looked at him.
Yugi felt tears falling. "There's someone trying to kill Atem and Yami! I took one dagger from him but he might have more!"
"Stay here. Tami stay with him! Call for back up!" Titan ran off to their room.
"Come Yugi." She took him.
Yugi sniffled as she took the dagger from him. She took him to the kitchen where she knew there was plenty of people to keep him safe. "Yugi what did he look like?"
"I-I don't…he…I can't remember. It was so quick. Please are they gonna be ok?" Yugi sniffled.
"They will be fine. Titan will handle it." She pulled out a phone and called for back up to their room.
Yugi stared down at the counter he sat at. He couldn't stand the idea of them being hurt. Just the thought made him sick. He hasn't told them yet.
"Here Yugi. Drink this." The cook brought him mug of hot tea.
Yugi nodded his thanks and sipped it. Peppermint. Calming. He smiled slightly.
"Yes. He's right here. He's safe. Yes sir." She hung up.
Yugi looked at her. He needed to know what was going on. We're they ok? We're they hurt? Did he need to get Isis? "Well?"
"They are on their way." She said.
"They're ok?" Yugi asked.
"We are." Atem said as they walked.
Yugi jumped off his chair and ran to them. He jumped and Yami easily caught him in his arms. Yami chuckled as he kissed his head.
"Aw did you worry about us?" Yami asked.
Yugi just hugged him tightly as he let tears fall. He sniffled and glanced over at Atem who was smiling softly.
"It's ok. We're ok. Thanks to you." Yami assured him.
Yugi looked up at him. "What happened to the one who tried to.." he trailed off.
"He is going to be tried for treason." Atem said.
"I-If he's found guilty?" Yugi asked. Atem and Yami glanced at each other but remained silent. He looked between them. "Well?"
"Yugi the penalty for treason is death." Yami said softly.
"What?" Yugi backed a step away. "No."
"Yugi let's talk about this later." Atem said. "Your grandfather is waiting and I promised to take you."
Yugi huffed. "We are not done with this." He said before walking past them.
"Yugi!" Solomon hugged him when the door opened.
Yugi laughed as he hugged back. "Hi grandpa. Come in boys." Solomon said.
Atem followed Yugi in. Solomon sat them in the kitchen as he went for drinks. Yugi sighed happily and leaned on Atem.
Atem chuckled and put an arm around him. "Feel good to be home?"
"Atem I've come to think of the palace as home. Don't put other ideas in my head." Yugi said looking up at him.
"The palace is home to you now?" Atem asked.
Yugi nodded. "It took a while but it is now."
"I love you." Atem said smiling.
Yugi gulped and looked down.
"It's ok Yugi." Atem kissed his head. "I'll wait for you."
"Thank you." Yugi said kissing his cheek. "I'm gonna run up to my room. I had left a ton of stuff behind when I moved and there's a few things I want to get. I'll be right back." He ran upstairs.
Entering his room was harder than he'd thought it would be but he knew he could do it. Grabbing a left over duffel bag he put some clothes in before moving to his desk. He looked down at an old picture he had sitting there. It was him sitting on the couch with his mom and dad while he held brand new baby Heba. He smiled sadly before putting it in his bag. He grabbed a book series he decided to re-read and then a small brown box. He set it in the bag and zipped it up before going downstairs with it.
"Yami stayed behind to handle a meeting. I know full we'll he can handle it. Besides he needs to own up to what he did to Arashi." Atem explained to Solomon as Yugi walked in. He gently set the bag down before going over to sit with Atem again. "If it weren't for this one I may not be here right now."
Yugi blushed. "I just let the guards know."
"Who came and stopped him before he could kill us." Atem said. He kissed Yugi's forehead.
Yugi smiled. "I am glad you two are ok."
Solomon smiled. "I am glad you all are getting along. I was worried about you Yugi."
"Oh they still drive me crazy sometimes. The constant hovering takes time to get used to." Yugi explained.
"We do not hover." Atem attempted to pout
Yugi laughed out loud. "Atem don't pout. You can't pull it off like me."
"And why is that?" Atem asked slightly offended.
"Because I am the cute one." Yugi smirked impishly.
"Oh yeah?" Atem started tickling him.
Yugi laughed and squirmed. "Stop! Stop!" he laughed.
Atem smiled and hugged him close as he stopped. Yugi panted but snuggled close. This was it. This was what he wanted. With Atem and Yami. He couldn't imagine life without them.
"We need to go see Yami." Yugi up suddenly.
"Huh? Why?" Atem asked.
"Just trust me on this. We have to go. Now." Yugi said. "Grandpa I'm sorry But I gotta see Yami. I'll be back as soon as I can."
Solomon smiled. "I understand my boy."
Yugi smiled before he grabbed his bag and they left. Yugi smiled as they started their walk home.
"Are you going to tell me what this is about?" Atem asked confused.
"Not till we have Yami with us too." Yugi said as he skipped. He had his bag strapped over his shoulder to keep it close.
"You are in a very cheery mood." Atem stopped Yugi by suddenly being in front of him. "Who are you and what have you done with my human?"
Yugi chuckled. "Atem I'm not always angry." He moved around the vampire.
"Oh no. Just 98% of the time." Atem rolled his eyes jokingly.
"Oh ha ha." Yugi rolled his eyes back. "To be fair most of my anger was a reaction to your anger."
"Ok subject change." Atem said quickly feeling embarrassed.
Yugi laughed as he walked. He pulled out his phone and messaged Yami. 'Almost home! I wanna talk to you and Atem!'
Yami responded relatively quickly. 'I thought you were visiting your grandfather. And I have a meeting to run Yugi.'
'Pleeeeeeaaase?' Yugi texted back.
'You are pouting aren't you?' Yami texted him.
Atem glanced at his phone as it chimed. "Yugi why is Yami asking about your pouty face?"
Yugi feigned innocence. "I have no idea."
Aem narrowed his eyes at the smaller one. "Bullshit."
Yugi laughed softly as they came to the front doors of the palace. He smiled as he walked in and went right to the conference room. He burst in to find the room filled with vampires. He froze.
"Uh hi." He lifted his hand. They all chuckled as Yami glared at Yugi slightly.
"Yugi sit." Yami pointed to his very large chair. Yugi gulped as he blushed. He went over and sat down. Atem followed him in and shut the door. Yami gave Yugi a stern look. "What do you say?"
Yugi looked down. "I'm sorry for interrupting."
Atem chuckled. "Yami be nice."
"He interrupted a meeting." Yami said.
"To see you. So be nice." Atem said coming to stand next to his mate. He kissed him.
Yami sighed. "Alright. Yugi."
Yugi looked up at him. "Yeah?" he asked cutely.
Yami grumbled to himself before speaking. "We are almost done so just wait patiently ok?"
The human smiled and nodded causing the vampires to laugh again.
"Your human is quite cute and really plays that to his will." One vampire said.
"Yes, Mahad, he does." Atem chuckled. "Now how about you fill me in on this meeting?"
Yugi pouted and dazed off. This was boring. He hated sitting still. Swinging his legs back and forth he looked around the room. It was also decorated in the ancient Egyptian style. These two definitely loved their heritage. There were papyrus paintings hung up and he had no doubt they were the real originals. How Atem and Yami managed to keep them this long was astonishing. Tapestries hung across the ceiling as well giving it some color. He looked down at the chair he sat on. He would bet his entire inheritance that these chairs were originals from their past as well. He loved the look of them. Though he couldn't imagine the pain a human would be in sitting on them all day. They were hard!
"Yugi." Yami snapped his fingers in front of his face.
Yugi blinked and looked up at him. "Huh?"
"Admiring our chairs." Atem chuckled. "Like them?"
Yugi nodded. "But they hurt to sit on after a while."
Yami laughed. "For a human yes."
Yugi pouted. "Hey humans are totally weak."
"Yes we know. After all the power you hold is strong." Yami said.
Atem picked Yugi up and sat on his chair then put Yugi on his lap. "Are the chairs the only thing you like?"
"Oh no. This whole room is beautiful. I love it." Yugi said. "How much of it is original?"
"Almost all of it." Atem said. "A few of the tapestries are remade due to damage."
Yugi nodded. "I love it all."
"So what did you insist on breaking into a meeting to talk about?" Yami asked sitting in his chair.
Yugi blushed instantly and looked down. Why did he have sudden nerves in his stomach. He was so certain he could do this. After nearly losing them this morning he knew he needed to come clean. It was time to tell them.
"This morning terrified me." Yugi admitted. "I can't imagine living without you. Either of you."
"We can't live without you either Yugi." Atem said softly.
"I need to…" Yugi sighed. "I need to tell you something."
"Are you ok?" Atem asked.
"I will be once I admit this." Yugi said. He took a deep breath. "Ok here it goes." He looked between them. "I love you. Both of you."
Atem and Yami's eyes widened. "Yugi." Yami said quietly.
"I have loved you for a while now but just couldn't bring myself to say it. But I knew this morning that I needed to say it. Before I chanced losing you two again. I needed you two to know how I feel." Yugi said.
Yami smiled and kissed him deeply. "We love you too."
Atem kissed him back. "And we always will."
Yugi snuggled close to Atem. "Thank you."
"For what?" Atem asked.
"For giving me the time I needed to figure that out on my own." Yugi smiled up at him.
"It's about time! We're gonna be late!" Malik yelled.
"Sorry. Yami kind of held me up." Yugi said blushing.
Ryou grimaced. "Not an image I needed in my head."
"Not that!" Yugi yelled at him. "Get your mind out of the gutter!"
"Then why are you blushing?" Malik asked smirking.
"I…well we…"He trailed off as the memory replayed in his head.
'Yami I gotta go.' Yugi groaned. 'I'm gonna be late.'
'Don't worry they'll wait.' Yami said kissing him again. He moved a hand under Yugi's shirt.
Yugi moaned slightly before putting his own hand on Yami's wrist trying to stop him. 'Yami I'm serious.'
'I'm sorry. I just love your body so much.' Yami smiled. He pulled off Yugi's shirt and kissed up his back to his shoulder. He kissed Yugi's neck. Yugi moaned and leaned his head back. Yami smirked he rubbed his hands up Yugi's center towards his chest.
'Y-Yami.' Yugi groaned. 'Not…fair.'
'Who plays fair? You don't with that cute little pout of yours.' Yami argued. He ran his fingers through Yugi's hair making him moan more audibly. 'So good.' He laid Yugi down and started to kiss down Yugi's chest going lower. He was just pulling Yugi's pants down when…
'What's going on here?' Atem voice broke through their fun.
'Want to join?' Yami asked.
'No. Yugi needs to leave. You need to behave yourself.' Atem pulled him off.
The effect wore off Yugi as he blinked and sat up. He blushed deeply. 'Yami you play dirty.'
'Dirty is fun.' Yami smirked.
'Out.' Atem shoved him out. 'Yugi get dressed again. Your friends are waiting.'
Yugi nodded and got dressed before leaving.
"Yugi I really don't want to know what is going through your head right now. But we need to go. Jou was expecting us 10 minutes ago." Ryou rolled his eyes and began pulling him to the doors.
Yugi laughed before looking back to see his vampires stand on the grand stairs. He waved to them smiling before he left with Malik and Ryou. His life really was shaping up.
Ok normally I'd make it longer but I love that ending for this chapter so it's done there. Hope you guys enjoyed it!
