Bakugo Katsuki was having a fucking awful day that kept getting worse. He needed this test to start already so he could crush someone before he exploded.

He was one of the last people on the bus, having woken up late from the hours spent training in the night. Kirishima had saved him a seat, as usual, but for some awkward fucking reason the Floaty Stalker Uraraka was sitting next to Mina on the bus. What the fuck? And to make matters worse, his heartbeat tripled in speed when he saw her there. And then he fucking BLUSHED! Whenever he saw floaty bitch, he just knew that the frog wasn't far behind. Who the fuck was he? Some Jack Alligator looking ass simp, thirsting after a damn frog?! Sure enough, Asui was sitting across the aisle beside stupid, FUCKING DEKU! DAMN IT!

Kirishima looked a bit green when he noticed the expression on Bakugo's face. He insisted that Bakugo sit on the inside seat near the bus window, whispering, "Just stay calm, okay? Do you hear me? Bakugo ignore Midoriya and please, for the love of Red Riot, ignore Tsu-"

"HEY FUCKING DEKU LISTEN UP," Katsuki roared. "YOU TOO, HALF-AND-HALF! BRING EVERYTHING YOU GOT. I'M STILL GOING TO CRUSH BOTH OF YOU, Y'HEAR ME?!"

In his head, he added Asui to that list. She would see. She would fucking see that he wouldn't fail a test. What was he an extra?! Hell no!

"HELL NO!" He screamed out loud, to a bus full of puzzled classmates, who had already gone back to their own private conversations.

Kirishima pulled him down into his seat and sent an apologetic smile to everyone else on the bus. "Did you not hear me? Calm down, Katsuki!"

"Look at him," Bakugo growled, his eyes blazing in anger, shifting around Kirishima to glare daggers at a trembling, sweating Deku. "Fucking showing her his stupid hero book. Didn't I destroy that? Floaty bitch!"

"Bakugo, don't call women that," Mina chastised him, shaking her fuzzy pink head at him. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Kirishima blush. At least he wasn't the only simp in this friendship. NOT THAT HE WAS A FUCKING SIMP AND HE WAS ABOUT A SECOND AWAY FROM MURDERING WHATEVER TRAITOROUS PART OF HIS FUCKING MIND BROUGHT THAT TO MIND BECAUSE Fuck NO!

"FLOATY BITCH!" Bakugo screamed again, raging at the world. "Why are you sitting here and not next to your boyfriends, FOUR EYES AND DEKU!"

Ochako-chan turned about three shades past red and ended up looking a bit purple in the face. She covered her face and began to float, squealing, "Kacchan! D-don't say things like that."

"DON'T CALL ME THAT!" Bakugo hollered, a vein throbbing on his forehead. They were attracting attention and Eraserhead Sensei was sending him a threatening glare. SO WHAT! He would MURDER HIM TOO!

"Then don't call me weird names when you know my name is Uraraka!" the Floaty weirdo sent back.

"Yea, Kacchan, you've been in a terrible mood ever since the weekend. What's with you?" Kaminari asked from a few rows behind them.

"DIE!" Katsuki screamed to him, before returning his attention to Uraraka. It was her fault that damn frog was so close, he knew it. It was her fault he had to sit here, sweating enough Nitroglycerin to rival an Atomic Bomb with his heart pounding faster than All Might's top speed. He'd be okay if Tsuyu (ASUI!) was farther away, he knew it.

The bus erupted into chaos with him engaging in a dual screaming match against Floaty bitch and Dumbass with Mina and Kirishima reprimanding him loudly in his ear and Toru placing bets on how long it would take him to blow up the bus. Then Four Eyes ran across the bus and began loudly commanding everyone to settle down, which didn't fucking work at all. Mostly, it pissed him off more.

Suddenly, the bus driver began threatening to pull over and class-B, who sat farther back on the bus, decided to join into the drama with the freaky kid launching into a weird Anti-class A Manifesto and Big Hands stretching across the bus to stop him. Several others were laughing raucously, EVEN THOUGH IT WASN'T FUNNY, and a few more were cowering under their seats, WHICH WAS APPROPRIATE BECAUSE HE WAS ABOUT TO FUCKING MURDER EVERYONE AND-

"Bakugo-chan," came a quiet, croaky voice to his left. "Please don't insult my friend, it isn't very nice, kero. We have an important exam, everyone, and we have to represent UA well."

His heart skipped a beat at her voice. He fell silent immediately and searched her expressionless face, for some sign, anything really, about what she was thinking. Everyone fell silent as well, shocked at his compliance. Well, fuck them! He wasn't complying! He just needed a second to fucking think! Stupid bastards watching him examine her, wondering why he hadn't reacted yet.

Why hadn't he reacted? Because he didn't really want to yell at her right now. There was something seriously wrong with that. Fuck it all.

"WHO SAID I WAS NICE," Bakugo forced himself to say before leaping over Kirishima and relocating to the open seat behind the driver at the front of the bus. He plopped down into the seat and reminded himself to breathe."I'M TIRED OF YOU STUPID LOSERS. EVERYONE SHUT UP, I'M GOING TO SLEEP!"

At least he was far away from Deku, Frog face, and the stupidly invasive Ochako. He just wanted this day to be over so he could shove his results into Tsuyu's face and force her to acknowledge him again. No, and force himself to get over her, he corrected. He was doing this to beat her, he reminded himself. He needed to win against her.

He crossed his arms across his chest, sent a glare to the extras surrounding him, and fell into a light, restless sleep.

The students from Shiketsu High were impressive. Especially Inasa. Tsuyu couldn't believe there was someone who had gotten in on recommendations before Yaomomo and Todoroki-kun. He must be so powerful!

She would have to stay away from people like him. Tsuyu didn't know whether she had what it took to pass the exam, but she knew she couldn't compare to super quirks like his. She was, after all, just a frog.

She was also grateful for the students from Ketsubutsu High, but mostly for their hilarious Sensei, Ms. Joke. After the loud noise and stress from the bus, it felt really good to loosen up with a good, hearty laugh. Soon enough, it was time to head to the locker rooms and change into their hero costumes.

Tsuyu was putting the finishing touches on her costume, adjusting her goggles on her head, and sat down on the bench to slide into her boots. Ochako was sitting next to her, asking her thoughts about the interaction on the bus with Bakugo. She wanted to know if Tsuyu thought he was flirting. Tsuyu didn't want to think about Ochako's interaction with Bakugou on the bus.

What had gotten into her recently? She tried not to be upset with her friend, but it seemed unkind to flirt with Bakugo so openly when she knew, or at least suspected, that Tsuyu had a crush on him. How would she feel if Tsuyu did the same with her precious Deku?

It didn't make sense. Ochako was practically in love with Deku. Why was she pursuing Katsuki?

"I don't know," Tsuyu said again. "I really don't want to talk about Bakugo-chan right now."

"Please!" Ochako whined. "You're my friend. Who else am I going to talk about it with?"

"Ochako-chan, what about Deku?" Tsuyu asked, more than a bit curious.

"What about him? Ochako asked, cutting her eyes sharply at Tsuyu. "We're best friends, but he hasn't ever shown me he likes me back. It's getting really hard to watch him from so far away and yet feel so close. I just want someone who'll give me a reaction. Is there anything wrong with that?"

Yes," Tsuyu told her honestly. "There is. Katsuki is more than just some reaction for you to play with. He has feelings. Yes, those feelings usually come out as anger, but it won't be nice to play with them while you wait for Deku to notice."

"You think I'm doing this to make Deku jealous?" Ochako-chan said, her voice rising in anger. "I'm not! I like Bakugo-chan for who he is and there isn't anything wrong with that. Anyway, you've answered my question. You said his feelings usually come out in anger and we had a fight in front of the whole bus. It was just me and him."

"And Kaminari and Kirishima and anyone else who was ticking Bakugo off," Tsuyu added, dryly. Sometimes she thought Ochako lived in a different reality. That wasn't what happened! Was it?

"Don't be jealous," Ochako reprimanded. "Just because he likes me and he didn't like you. That isn't my problem. Deku blushes around every single girl and I can't tell if I'm special. With Bakugo, he makes me feel special. I was the only girl he fought at the Sports Festival, and afterward, he defended me in front of everyone as a worthy opponent. We have a spark, Tsu, admit it."

"Would your answer change if I told you it worked?" Tsuyu asked, frowning. "Because I think Deku actually was jealous."

Ochako-chan had opened her mouth to retort but snapped it shut once she heard Tsuyu's confession. Her eyes softened for a second, then suddenly hardened. She glared at Tsuyu.

"N-no," Ochako stuttered. "This isn't about Deku. It just isn't, okay? It's about me and Katsuki. We have really good chemistry."

"Then you wouldn't mind if I went after Midoriya-chan?" Tsuyu asked, feeling angry. She hadn't ever felt truly angry at Ochako before and it was a new feeling. "It would mean nothing to you?"

"Of course," Ochako spat at her. "Nothing at all. We're just friends. Have Iida too while you're at it. But don't worry, I know you're bluffing."

"How?" Tsuyu asked, angry.

"Because you're too good of a friend to me to try and hurt me like that on purpose," Ochako said, looping her arm through Tsuyu's and dragging her from the changing room. "Now come on. If we take any longer, we'll miss the instructions. It's time to do this. Let's represent UA, okay?! Plus?"

Tsuyu felt the anger drain out of her. Right. She was a good friend, wasn't she? Being a good friend had never felt like such a burden before.

"Ultra," Tsuyu grumbled, allowing herself to be pulled. Unsurprisingly, they were standing pretty close behind Bakugo-chan for the instructions. Tsuyu mentally hyped herself up, because she had begun to feel as dispirited and tired as the man telling them the rules and she watched Ochako lean forward to whisper something into Bakugo's ear. He turned to whisper something back. Tsuyu couldn't see the expression on his face. Did he like Ochako? Maybe he did.

She turned slightly away from the pair and found herself brushing suddenly against Deku, who blushed and stumbled back a few steps. He smiled nervously and refocused his attention on the man speaking, his face serious and driven once more.

And maybe Ochako was right and Deku wasn't jealous at all. Perhaps the only person suffering was her. Tsuyu tried to remind herself that this is what she wanted because it was what her friend wanted. Friends supported one another. Always.

She forced a smile on her face and managed a response to whatever Ochako was getting excited about. The test, most likely.

"1,540 contestants and only 100 can pass?" Ochako gasped. "That's less than 10 percent. Our class alone would have to be a fifth of that. Can we really stand those odds!"

"I'm starting to feel nervous," Jirou said, nodding her head.

Class 1-A listened with determination as he explained the rules of the free-for-all. Everyone would have three targets and six balls. If all three are hit, you would be eliminated, but you had to eliminate two contestants in order to pass. Simple rules, but there was nothing easy about the task they were going to face soon.

Tsuyu felt all of her worries and drama settle in the background of her brain as she switched into battle mode. The stadium unfolded around them displaying a massive arena of different terrains. Deku already had a strategy. That was good. She had already thought about it and surmised the same thing. It would be better for everyone if they stayed together in a group.

"This ain't some fucking class picnic," Bakugo growled, already blasting away.

"Get back here, you dummy," Kirishima yelled, following his friend.

"Wait up!" cried Kaminari trailing after the two.

That was for the best too, Tsuyu thought. It would help her focus to have him far away from her. Next, Todoroki left and suddenly the time was nearly up. The seventeen remaining members of class 1-A sped off in the direction of some rocky terrain as the time winded down.

"4...3...2...1"

The buzzer sounded as the announcer screamed, "START!"

Quite suddenly there was too much happening at once and Tsuyu tried to remember what Deku had been trying to tell everyone from his position at the front of the group. It would be a battle of schools...stay near the quirks you know well...everyone knows our quirks.

There were nails flying at them from one direction, an overwhelming number of balls flying through the air with deadly accuracy, and the earth beginning to rumble beneath their feet. Deku launched himself into the air only milliseconds after she had registered the sudden turn of events.

"SMASH!" he hollered, sending the balls of away in a great gust of wind that knocked away the flying obstacles, cracked the earth, and sent their opponents toppling.

Beside her, Yaomomo quickly produced shields and tugged Tsuyu roughly behind one. She had narrowly avoided a ball hitting her target.

It was time for Class 1-A to battle again. And It wasn't just a battle of schools...it was a battle against UA!
