Smut warning* (Although I forgot to warn in the last chapter)

At seven, Pepper brought in the outfit Tony instructed, and left it at the end of the bed. As she was leaving, the doctor came up and knocked loudly on the door.

Emily bolted awake and clutched at her chest. Once she caught her breath she stood and walked up to the door and opened it. "Yes?"

"I was told to discuss the prisoners MRI results with you?" He asked, clearly not happy about treating Loki.

She sighed inwardly and stepped just outside of the door, making sure he could see her through the window if he woke. "Please don't call him that," Emily said as she crossed her arms. "What are the results?"

"The wound itself is healing well enough, but the damage extends down to his knee. I will be ordering PT starting tomorrow, and depending on his progress, a second surgery might be necessary." He explained matter of factly.

Emily nodded. "When should he try standing and walking?"

"He needs to start moving around more now, but his leg will not support him. I will have a good brace and walker ordered and fitted by tomorrow morning." He answered..

"I'll see if he wants to try and sit up on his own tonight. Thanks for letting me know, and I will do my best to help him." She looked through the window of the door to see he was still asleep. "He still has a catheter. I assume that can be removed tomorrow morning."

"No, it can be removed once he can get to the bathroom consistently. I would suggest you have him make the walk a few times when he doesn't need to go. If he can handle it, the catheter will be removed." He looked over Loki's chart real quick. "Any other questions?"

"I've told Mr. Stark, but he's having recurring headaches," Emily stated. "It only happens when he thinks of certain things and I believe it's due to his memory being altered. Are we doing anything for that yet?"

"That is not my specialty, so you will need to talk to Stark about finding someone who is. What makes you think his memory was altered, verses simply not remembering the trauma?" He asked curiously.

"Me and Mr. Stark looked at his brain scans," Emily answered. "The trauma shows a lot of scar tissue."

"That could just mean he suffered old injuries. Have you asked him about other head injuries?" He asked, starting to show some interest in the case.

She shook her head. "No, I haven't. But every time he tries to remember what happened to him his head hurts. I also mentioned the invasion and he had no clue about it. So I tried to show him what happened in Germany. The response was almost instant as soon as he started watching it and doubled over in pain."

"I am on my way to deliver my reports to Stark right now and I will suggest a colleague of mine that might be able to help with the memory issues." He promised Emily, then set the chart down and walked away.

Emily sighed, then walked back in the room and grabbed the outfit. "Tony has nice taste," she said with a smile, then walked into the bathroom to change.

Loki woke and stayed quiet. He had heard the bathroom door close, so he patiently waited for Emily to come back into the room.

When she returned she wore a black camisole and tight jeans. Emily walked across the room and retrieved her knee length sweater and pulled it on. "Hey sleepy head, how do you feel?"

He glanced at her from head to toe, then shrugged. "Sore and hungry. I still want to go home..."

"I know you do, and we're working towards that. Do you want me to order you something?" She asked. "I'm going to visit Tony for a few hours but I'm not staying the night."

"Why do you have to go see him again? It was a disaster last time." Loki fussed. "Yes, get food."

Emily quickly ordered Chinese for Loki, using her phone. "It wasn't a disaster, and I'm not staying long. I've already told him several times that I'm coming back here tonight, I'm not leaving you alone at night."

"It was a disaster. Don't you remember how they all came in here and tried to make me black out?" He reminded her.

"That will not happen this time Loki. You had a panic attack in your sleep while I was gone, that's why I'm not staying long," she explained.

"How long are you staying? What time will you be back?" He asked her with a tone of doubt. "Are you certain they will not come in again?"

A knock sounded at the door, signaling Loki's food. Emily quickly retrieved it and made him a plate. "Only a few hours. They should not bother you Loki." I need to find something to keep his mind busy."

"This isn't enough food for a few hours." Loki told her, frustrated by her leaving again.

"I got two large containers of noodles and rice. This is plenty, I assure you," Emily answered softly as she placed a full plate on his table, then put the boxes beside them.

"You clearly know nothing of my eating habits." Loki rolled his eyes. "I will try to make it last."

She smiled at him and rubbed his arm. "I'll be back Loki, I promise." Emily ignored the urge to kiss his cheek, then grinned before she turned and left his room.

Tony was already in his penthouse, on the phone when Emily came up. He was growing more frustrated with the conversation and motioned for her to have a seat while he paced back and forth in the living room.

Emily furrowed her brow as she sat on the couch. 'What's wrong?' She mouthed.

Tony held up a finger, then finally ended the call. "Just having trouble with getting a specialist here in a timely manner." He said, then brought over beers for each of them and sat with her on the couch.

"I'm worried about him Tony," Emily said, then took a drink of her beer. "He's so scared but he doesn't think I see it."

"I don't think he has anything to be scared of. Just the fact that he survived this attack shows how indestructible he is." Tony said off hand.

Emily grimaced. "But look how badly he has been injured," she countered.

"He got on the wrong side of something very powerful." Tony agreed. "I have been sent some feedback on his brain scans though."

She turned sideways on the couch, her beer resting in her hand. "What did they say?"

"After a lot of nonsense talk, they are suggesting some sort of advanced mind control. They think it is what triggers the pain in his head." He answered and laid his hand on her thigh.

"God, that's awful." Emily grasped her hand in his, then took a sip of her beer. "No wonder he's so scared."

"We don't know the source of the control yet, but... as much as I hate to admit it, someone else may have been behind his attack." Tony grudgingly stated.

Emily caressed his hand before she leaned over and put her beer on the coffee table. "He doesn't remember any of it," she said softly, "It's like it doesn't exist for him."

Tony nodded and moved his hand higher up her thigh. "Whatever is doing it clearly doesn't want him to remember. It also makes me wonder if this person-creature has access to his thoughts and knows everything we are doing."

She scooted closer to him so he could embrace her. "I've never thought of it that way."

"Until the mind control was confirmed, neither had I. We can't figure out a way to test it though." He admitted, then moved his hand to rub her through the fabric of her jeans.

Emily gasped. "Changing subjects?" She asked softly, meeting his eyes.

"No, not at all. These are serious issues we need to figure out. Why, are you having issues focusing?" He asked teasingly.

She shook her head, although she bit her bottom lip, trying not to react to him. "They're very serious. I don't want you to experiment on him like a lab rat, you know. He's a person."

"We will have to experiment on him to an extent. These are forces outside of our understanding." He pointed out, then shifted to unbutton and unzip her jeans.

"Tony... you need to make sure both Thor and Loki know what you're doing." She lifted her hips, trying to help him in his endeavor.

"Thor will be helping us with this, he's already agreed." He explained and pulled her jeans down as far as he could when she lifted her hips. "I don't care what Loki knows."

"I'll tell Loki myself," she assured. Emily couldn't take it any longer as she kicked off her shoes, then her jeans, before she quickly moved to straddle his lap and kiss him deeply.

Tony returned her kiss, moaning softly. His arousal already growing in anticipation. "We have reason to believe that whatever is controlling his mind is also what planned the ambush." He managed to say as he held on tight to her hips.

Emily smiled down at him as she ran her hands through his hair. "We'll figure it all out." She leaned down to kiss him again, deciding to grind against him.

Tony's reply came as a loud moan against her lips. He moved his hips with hers. "I love your eager to please attitude."

She chuckled as she slightly pulled on his hair. "From what I'm feeling against my crotch, I can tell."

"Get my pants off and you can feel me better." Tony smirked.

"What if I wanted you to take charge?" She asked boldly.

"I like it better when you are in charge and I have a way of getting what I want." He pointed out.

Emily raised an eyebrow at him. "Really now? I could tease you, then leave you needy and wanting. What would you do then?"

"You know I could have any number of girls here in minutes to finish the job. I don't want them though, I want you." He answered, and sincerely meant that he wanted her.

Her eyes softened as she caressed the side of his face. "You want me?"

"Yes, and right now, I want you to screw me." He told her. "Also, our dinner reservations are for seven tomorrow." He added, so she would know he was keeping his promise.

Emily kissed him deeply, while her hands roamed beneath his shirt. "I'm excited," she murmured.

"So am I, but you can already feel that." Tony smirked and moved his lips to her neck. He roughly sucked on her soft skin to leave a visible hickey.

She gasped and dug her nails into his sides while she ground against him. "Tony... I need you."

"Then take me." He muttered as he slid his hands under her top to remove it.

Emily unbuttoned his jeans and did her best to help him out of them. Then she helped him remove his shirt and met him with a longing kiss afterward.

Tony tossed his clothes aside, then pulled off his underwear and discarded them, leaving him bare. "Where do you want me?"

She stood and slowly peeled off her camisole, leaving her bare chested. "On top of me," she purred.

"You really don't get the point of you screwing me." He chuckled, then helped her lay down on the couch.

"Oh, I do," she laughed as she wiggled out of her jeans and underwear. "But it doesn't hurt for a guy to be on top... I can get my hands on that ass that way."

"I do like the sound of that." He agreed, then climbed on top of her. Quickly positioning himself, he buried himself in her warmth with a moan.

Emily cried out at the sudden intrusion, but wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist. "God... a little warning next time," she whispered, then kissed him while digging her heels into his back, making him stay deep within her.

He kissed her deeply and thrust his hips hard into her, burying himself to the hilt each time. "The huge erection wasn't enough warning?"

She moaned and arched her back into his chest. "Ye-es," she sighed.

"Not sure... of the problem then." Tony grunted and maintained his rough, fast pace.

Emily felt her toes curl due to his fast pace. "Ugh, Tony... don't stop..." She moved her hands to rest tightly on his hips, wanting to feel every impact of his thrusts.

"Didn't... plan... to..." Tony said, grunting with each fast thrust.

Her hands travelled to rest on his ass, feeling his muscles tense with every movement. She leaned up to kiss him deeply, able to delve her tongue into his mouth because of his panting.

He eagerly explored her mouth, taking in her sweet taste. With another hard thrust, he grunted against her lips and poured his seed into her.

Feeling Tony shudder with his climax, caused her own. She moaned into his mouth while her body shook with release and pleasure. Emily slowly pulled away gasping for air as she kept her eyes closed. "Holy... I don't think I could describe that."

"You don't need to, just make up for it by staying the night." He told her, though already knowing her answer.

A look of guilt filled Emily's face. "Tony, I would love to, but I promised Loki I would be back." She leaned up and kissed him sweetly. "If he was in a room on this floor instead of ten floors down, then I would think about it. But he needs me."

"Why in the hell would I move him to my personal floor?" Tony asked in disbelief.

Emily quickly covered his mouth with her hand. "That's not what I meant. Not exactly anyway. He's going to need therapy soon and a hospital room is no place for it. He needs a condo of his own so he can recover in a home environment."

Tony simply looked at her for a moment, then removed her hand. "No. The hospital is adequate for him. Lots of people recover in the hospital." He said firmly.

She sighed. "Would you want to recover from a near death injury in a stuffy room with four white walls?" she asked softly.

"If you recall, I recovered from a near death injury in a primitive cave... and I turned out great." He replied, somewhat sarcastically.

"Tony... I don't mean to upset you." She ran her hands up his back and wrapped her arms around his neck. "It's just a suggestion. He can't stay in that room forever, especially if he's the victim."

"Fine, I will have things made up a little nicer for him." He agreed, not wanting to upset Emily.

"Thank you Tony," she said softly, then leaned up to kiss him slowly, her hands going into his hair.

He pulled her into a deeper kiss and held her close. "Once he stops throwing tantrums, we can discuss a condo." He said, wanting to sound reasonable but figuring Loki would never stop throwing fits.

She nodded, then nuzzled into his neck. "I will let him know." Emily placed gentle kisses along his neck, feeling cuddly, happy that he hadn't immediately decided to do something else once they'd finished.

"Does this mean you'll stay the night then?" He asked with a hopeful tone.

"The last time I stayed, he had a panic attack in his sleep and was terrified by the nurses. I can't Tony." She looked up at him and met his chocolate eyes.

"Dammit, what does he want in order for you to stay?" He asked, letting his frustration show.

"He wants me to be with him," she said honestly. "I think I've become a bit of a security blanket to him."

"Then we just need to break him of that need. I know it sounds cruel, but he needs to grow up." Tony said, trying to sound concerned, but actually sounding like they were discussing a child.

Emily laid her head back on the couch. "He's not two years old Tony. He's been through something very traumatic and cannot even remember what happened to him. I worry about him."

Tony sighed and knew he wouldn't win. "The current treatment debate is whether or not we should make him remember."

"I don't know if that would be wise. We need to speak with Thor and Loki both," she replied. Emily caressed the side of his face, then pecked his lips. "You're not mad at me are you?" she whispered.

He returned her kiss. "No, I'm not mad at you." He assured her. "There is a medical team assessing the risk right now, to see if we should force the memories or not."

Emily nodded. "Hopefully we can have another whole night together soon."

"I hope so. This screw and leave feels so impersonal." Tony said truthfully.

"I wish it could be different," she replied honestly, then kissed him sweetly. "But this right here, cuddling with you, helps."

He kissed her deeply, then held her close. "It would still be nice to not be rushed."

"I'll talk to him about it tomorrow. Maybe Thor could stay with him overnight?" She suggested.

"He hasn't been staying that long when he's here. He is acting as the middleman between us and Asgard. I will mention it though." Tony promised.

Emily kissed him once more and ran her hand through his hair. "I know you don't want to, but you need to let me up."

"I know you can't stay the night, but do you really need to leave this soon?" Tony asked, wanting her to at least stay longer.

"No, I can stay a while longer," she said softly. "Want me to fix us some food? Your kitchen is stocked isn't it?"

"My kitchen is always stocked and a snack sounds good." Tony agreed, then finally let her up.

She grabbed Tony's shirt and pulled it over her head when she stood before she padded barefoot into the kitchen. "What are you in the mood for?" She asked.

"I'm in the mood for you to take that shirt off to make food."

Emily rolled her eyes as she opened the fridge and peered inside. "Tony, what do you want to eat?" she asked. "I could do grilled cheese maybe?"

"Sorry, I can't hear you through that shirt, maybe try taking it off?" Tony smirked. "Grilled cheese would be a good start."

"You are incorrigible," she said with a laugh as she grabbed cheese and butter from the fridge, then closed it with her hip. Emily placed the items on the counter then began searching the cabinets for a skillet.

"Left hand side, on the bottom." Tony told her, knowing where the skillets were. "I don't know why you won't let me enjoy the beautiful sight that is your naked body." He added sincerely.

She got out a skillet and placed it on the stove before she found the drawer with the silverware and pulled out a spatula. "It's not that I won't let you, as it's the fact that I don't want to get popped by butter or cheese from the skillet," she said as she opened the tub of butter and scooped some out and into the skillet.

"This is where we compromise. Wear an apron. Your front is covered and I can enjoy your back." He suggested.

"This shirt isn't that long," she said with a giggle as she found a loaf of bread and put a couple of sandwiches together and placed one in the skillet. "How many do you want?" she asked.

"Two would be good after that workout." He smirked. "Do you think we have time to go again before you need to go?"

She raised an eyebrow at him as she put another sandwich together, then flipped the one that sat in the skillet. "Already?" she asked playfully.

"If you aren't up to it, that's fine." Tony teased her.

Emily searched for a plate, then placed the first finished grilled cheese on it. "You are insatiable aren't you?" she teased back.

"What can I say, I just can't get enough of you." He replied with a grin.

"You're sweet," she cooed as she put a new sandwich in the skillet after she added some butter. "I'm always eager to see you too."

"I really need to get it so you can stay the night." He sighed, then got up and walked into the kitchen nude, carrying their forgotten beers that had been on the coffee table.

Emily watched him, unable to not look over his well defined body. "You know what that would take. I don't want to make you uncomfortable."

"We can talk about it while you go down on me." Tony said casually, curious as to her reaction.

"Tony ho-... I'm cooking food for us," she countered, quickly correcting herself as she flipped the sandwich, then put it on the skillet to make room for the final one.

"Obviously I meant after we have our snack." Tony chuckled, watching her every move.

She smirked at him over her shoulder, then turned back round so she could finish cooking. "I guess that depends on how you feel then. But like you said earlier, I don't want to do anything, then have to leave right after."

"You don't have to leave. He can't tell time, just tell him you were only gone for an hour." He said, knowing how Loki could overreact.

"He's not dumb Tony. He knows time passes." Emily added the last sandwich to the stack, then turned off the heat and put the spatula in the sink before she returned the butter to the fridge.

"You need to learn how to lie better." Tony countered. "I will teach you when we go back to his room."

She turned to face him and held out the plate for him. "We?" she questioned. "Why would you want to see him?"

"So I can show you how to lie about the time. It's easier than you think." Tony answered as he took his plate.

She sighed, then perched herself on the counter. "I'm not lying to him Tony. It's been done to him enough from what I've gathered."

Tony rolled his eyes. "It's just a little white lie. No harm done." He insisted.

"You act like such a kid," she said with a giggle, then took a sip of the beer he'd given her.

"I am still a kid in some aspects." He joked. "I just hate that he's being such a cock block."

"Tony," she chastised. "Everything is fine and we'll make it work." Emily put her beer down beside her, then hopped from the counter and walked up to him. "It's not every day that someone can say they're with Tony Stark after all," she added as she ran one hand up his bare chest.

He ran his hands down her sides then kissed her deeply. "I told you that you were special."

She smiled at him. "You're special to have me then."

"Yes I am." He grinned and led her over to the couch.

Emily let him lead her back to the couch and promptly sat beside him before she grabbed her own sandwich from the plate and took a bite. "You can try all you want, but you're not getting your way tonight."

"Technically, I already did have my way." He smirked. "You know the terms for discussing his housing." He reminded her.

She rolled her eyes and took another bite of her grilled cheese. "What good will that do me?" she asked.

"Have you not been arguing for a better room for Loki?" He asked curiously, and slightly confused.

"Yes... but who's to say that you'd actually do it. I know you don't like him," she retorted after she finished chewing another bite of her food.

"I can be an ass, but I'm not a liar and you know that." He countered.

Emily finished her grilled cheese, then curled up against his side. "I know you're not. You have never lied to me anyway," she said softly.

"So why don't you trust me now?" He asked curiously and picked up one of his sandwiches.

"I never said I didn't," she commented, "I just know he's not your favorite person and I don't want to force you to do something just because I ask you to."

"In my world, it's called a business negotiation." He told her.

"You know what I mean Tony," Emily responded as she trailed her hand across his bare leg while he ate.

"I know, but I am always willing to negotiate if it's worth my while." He said truthfully.

She nodded as she continued to run her hand along his free arm, making sure to trail her fingers all the way down to his hand, then up to his shoulder. "I don't know how much longer I will stay," she mentioned as she looked up at the clock on the entertainment center. "It's almost ten thirty."

"Even Cinderella had until midnight." He said dryly. "You can always check on him with the monitors."

Emily shrugged. "I've never thought of doing that. He's always in a mood when I return back to the room though, or has thought something bad happened to him again."

"With the monitors, you can make sure nothing bad has happened." He assured her.

She nodded. "Could you bring them up for me?" she asked. "I'd feel better checking on him."

"Jarvis, you know what to do." Tony said and the monitors came on, showing Loki's room in which he was peacefully sleeping at the moment.

Emily smiled once she saw that he was content and peaceful. "That's a relief off my shoulders. It looks like he got his belly full of the Chinese food I left for him."

Tony looked at the monitors and frowned. "Funny. I thought he would eat more given his weight."

"Rice and noodles expand. It looks like he ate almost two cartons. That's a lot."

"He weighs over four hundred pounds, and I don't know where he puts it all." Tony admitted.

Emily's eyes widened. "That's insane. I figured he was maybe two hundred and fifty, maybe a bit more, but that weight should make him obese. Asgard's gravity must work differently than it does here."

"Based on what testing we have done, his bone structure is far denser than ours." Tony explained.

"I kinda figured that. I assume Thor would be the same way," she replied, then turned to watch him place his now empty plate on the coffee table before he sat back on the couch.

"He is not as dense as Loki. Thor volunteered for some testing at my request." He replied.

"I wonder why that is... I mean, they are related, so it seems a bit strange." Her eyes went back to the monitor to see Loki twitch in his sleep, then turn his head to the side.

"I don't know, but I plan to ask Thor about it when he returns. There is so much that doesn't make sense." He said, watching the monitors as well. "His vitals are rising, this could be the start of a nightmare..."

Emily quickly stood and began pulling on her underwear, then struggled to put on her jeans. "I need to be down there if it is. I will not let him suffer."

"You should wait and see for sure and the nurses can sedate him if needed." Tony fussed.

Emily shook her head. "I don't want them to sedate him. I can do it myself if I need to, but I need to be there for him." She finally slipped on her sandals, then looked up at Tony. "I'm sorry Tony, but he's my charge. I need to take care of him just like I take care of you."

Tony finally gave in and nodded. "Still on for tomorrow night?"

"Of course Tony." She leaned down and quickly pecked his lips. "I'll see you again soon." Emily straightened the shirt she wore and secretly smiled at the fact that she was running off in one of Tony's shirts, before she hurriedly left his large condo.

Loki had started to toss and turn, mumbling incoherently in his sleep. Several nurses had gathered right outside his door, trying to decide what to do.

Emily rushed out of the elevator at a breakneck speed and turned down the hall to reach his room. "Move!" she called ahead, so the nurses would get out of her way to let her get inside. "I need to get to him."

The nurses jumped out of the way, leaving the door open for Emily. Loki's nightmare was reaching its height as she entered the room.

She stood at the foot of his bed, her chest heaving from running. "Loki?" she called, hoping to get his attention without touching him.

Loki jumped up. The movement pulled his injury and made him grab his side. "What happened?" He asked, breathless and in tears.

"Shh, shh," she held her hands out in front of her as she moved to his bedside and helped him lay back down. "It was a nightmare, that's all. You're safe."

Loki laid down with her help. "Thank you for being here to help this time." He said sincerely, seeing that no one else was in the room.

She smiled down at him and wiped his damp hair from his face. "I'll always help you if I am able to," she said sincerely.

"I don't remember the nightmare... it's just a blur and I don't like it." He sighed, starting to relax.

"Most nightmares are like that," she soothed. Emily sat on the edge of his bed, then leaned across him to gently check his side. "You didn't hurt yourself worse, that's a good thing."

He nodded. "I didn't mean to hurt myself last time." He said truthfully.

"I know," she said, then sat back up. "Things happen, it's okay."

"I'm still tired... is it still sleep time?" He asked and yawned.

Emily mirrored his yawn, then nodded. "It is. Go back to sleep, I'll be here when you wake up."

"Will you lay with me? Not in a weird way, just so I don't feel alone?" He asked her softly.

She bit her lip and pondered the thought for a few moments. "Are you able to scoot over?" She asked quietly.

Loki slowly managed to scoot over just enough for her to lay with him. "Is that enough?"

She slowly laid beside him and stretched out her legs. Emily ended up with her head directly next to his as she smiled over at him. "Are you okay?" She whispered.

"Yeah, just sore." He answered softly. He didn't make any move to touch her anymore than they were already.

"Jarvis, lights please," Emily said softly.

"Yes Miss Porter," the AI replied, in the same tone before the lights were extinguished.
