Outside the Decepticon facility, two Con soldiers stood watch on one of the lower levels. Being closest to the labs, they could hear Sari's screams of pain as Shockwave attempted to access her programming. The guards chuckled to themselves.
"This is the most exciting noise I've heard all day." one said.
"I'm betting ten Shanix she won't make it within this astro-cycle." The second announced.
"I bet fifteen she won't make it by sunset."
"Deal."
The two laughed to each other for a few moments, then the second guard asked of the first: "Why do we even guard this place? I mean, we know that the humans have a little resistance going on, but they'd be absolutely stupid to try and attack this place what with one of Shockwave's resurrected big boys living here."
"Beats me," the second responded, "It does seem kinda pointless when there's no Autobots on Earth to attack."
Suddenly, the two could hear a faint noise in the distance. Looking out, they could see multiple objects approaching the facility at an incredibly fast speed.
"What is that?" the first asked.
The second squinted his eyes: "I don't know."
As they got closer, the guards could see it was multiple vehicles: a sports car, a helicopter, a tank, a truck with a wrecking ball, a yellow car with black racing stripes and a van with speakers on the sides, which were now blasting the rock music the guards heard earlier.
"What the…" the first guard said, when suddenly, the two were blasted from behind by Airbourne, who had cloaked himself as he flew up behind the two. Catching their bodies before thy fell, Airbourne left them on the floor of the walkway, then snuck inside the building, on the search for Sari.
Meanwhile, once the other Commandobots got close enough (close enough being practically at the front gate) they transformed into their robots modes and brought out their guns.
"Alright, boys!" Corvax yelled, fury and determination in his voice: "Commondobots (and Bumblebee), ATTACK!"
With that command, the team charged forward at the gate, guns blazing as the Decepticons in the facility ran out to meet them, only to be blown apart as X-plode fired his cannons. Physicon flew up to a higher watchtower and, after dispatching the Cons there with his knife he looked back to the main fight. Then, pulling out his sniper rifle, he knelt down and began firing into the approaching waves of Decepticons, scoring headshot after headshot. Bumblebee and Corvax were able to find cover, firing from behind it. Beatbox, the music still playing from his shoulder speakers, decided to use more than his sonic cannon.
"Demo team, deploy!" he called out, opening his chest to eject four different cassettes that transformed into Tracker and Four-Arm, but also two others: a white and blue bird called Hawk Eye and a humanoid robot that resembled a heavily armored knight with miniguns for hands called Killstreak.
"Go get em!" Beatbox commanded, and the four rushed forward into the approaching team of Decepticon soldiers. Killstreak immediately lived up to his name, mowing down enemies with his miniguns. Tracker immediately pounced on the first Decepticon and began tearing him apart with his claws and guns, Four-Arm began cutting enemies' feet out from under them as his hands morphed into buzzsaws, and Hawk Eye flew from Decepticon to Decepticon, slicing into them with razor sharp wings.
Suddenly, the defensive turrets on the base of the tower hummed to life and immediately locked onto the Commandobots' signatures, firing their explosive rounds.
"Incoming!" X-plode called out as he ducked behind a section of rubble to avoid the turrets; even Demotak was forced to retreat and hid alongside Corvax. Physicon was forced off of the watchtower as the turrets destroyed it, and ended up alongside Bumblebee.
"Those turrets have us pinned!" Demotak yelled.
"Do you honestly think we don't know that?!" Beatbox shouted back.
"Well, I'm open to ideas!" Corvax replied to the others.
…
"What is it now, Soundwave?" Shockwave asked; he had been rudely interrupted from his hacking of Sari and called to the main control room.
"Autobots discovered at the scanning tower." Soundwave announced.
"Bring up the security footage." Shockwave ordered. Soundwave complied, bringing up the footage on a nearby screen. As Shockwave watched, he could see the Commandobots as they peeked out from their hiding spots to fire into the approaching soldiers.
"So" Shockwave said with a hint of satisfaction, "My little experiments have decided to come home."
"What do you decide our next course of action shall be?" Soundwave asked.
"Pull back the troops and deactivate the turrets" Shockwave replied, "It's time I gave the first of my loyal experimental soldiers a test run."
Soundwave promptly gave the order.
…
"Guys?" Bumblebee said, "Look."
The others peeked out to see the Decepticons had stopped their firing and were retreating back into the tower. The turrets had also ceased firing and now lie dormant.
"Why have they stopped?" Corvax asked.
"Shockwave wouldn't pull back troops unless he had a very good reason to." Physicon argued.
"Oh yeah, like what?" asked Demotak.
…
"Turrets deactivated and the troops have returned to the tower." Soundwave announced. Shockwave nodded his head in satisfaction, then gave the order: "Activate Scorponok."
…
Just then, Tracker sniffed the air and then began growling, the guns on his hindquarters readying.
"What is it, boy?" Beatbox asked.
"New Energon signature detected." Killstreak announced.
"From what?" Corvax asked.
As if on cue, the ground around their feet rumbled as heavy footsteps echoed from the tower entrance.
Beatbox looked over at the entrance and said with worry in his voice: "Uhhhhh, guys?"
The others looked over as well just in time to see a massive green and purple scorpion-like transformer emerge from the entrance, its stinger gleaming in the sunlight.
"That's definitely bad news." Corvax said.
"Scorponok…" Physicon gasped.
"What's the plan?" Beatbox asked.
Corvax thought for a few moments: "Light it up. Keep it busy until one of us sees a weakness."
"That's your best idea?" Bumblebee asked.
"No, but I haven't got a better one."
Bumblebee shrugged: "Fair enough."
"Let's get him!" X-plode yelled, appearing from his hiding placed and firing his cannon at the new foe.
Scorponok looked over to the source of the shots: "What's this? An Autobot who wants to play?" he jeered, "Well, alright then!"
Scorponok charged, bringing his stinger down only fast enough for X-plode to barely get out of the way in time. The other Commandobots decided to join in here, laying their own cover fire as the scorpion moved this way and that, trying to get to each of his opponents.
…
A few miles away from the fight, a small group of aircraft was flying toward the tower. After having landed a while earlier, it didn't take long for them to see the smoke and realize that was their target.
"How much farther?" the red fighter jet known as Firefly asked, "I'm itching to let loose some missiles."
"Not much farther" Skydive replied.
"Guys, look!" Silverbolt announced.
The Aerialbots looked ahead to see Scorponok fighting off the Commandobots and Bumblebee.
"Wait," Skydive stammered, "is that…?"
"Scorponok" Powerglide confirmed.
"I thought we killed him already!" Firefly complained.
"Well, it looks like Shockwave's been playing Frankenbot recently." Silverbolt said.
"So, what's the plan?" Powerglide asked.
"We need to take this fight to Scorponok's level. Firefly, fire a warning missile."
Firefly was only too happy to oblige and let loose a missile, scoring a direct hit on the titan's face.
"What?!" Scorponok exclaimed and looked up to see the Aerialbots approach.
"Time to go big or go home!" Silverbolt announced, "Aerialbots, COMBINE!"
As Scorponok and the Commandobots watched, the Aerialbots flew to the ground and transformed into different body parts, except Powerglide, who turned into a massive gun that was grabbed by a massive robotic hand.
Within a few seconds, the combiner, Superion, stood in front of them. Superion holstered his gun and cracked his knuckles: "Why don't you pick on someone your own size!" he taunted.
"My own size, huh?" Scorponok retorted, and he transformed in to his own robot form.
The Commandobots and Bumblebee knew all too well to stand as far back as possible; a battle of titans was about to go down…
