(A/n finally on to chapter 8 now that the big reveal is done this chapter is gonna go back and forth between reality and Future Yugi's past some in flash backs other in actual talking so hold on tight and enjoy yourself)
Chapter 8 How we got here
Natsu and Lucy looked at each other sharing the same thought. 'It's just like then... with Future Lucy...' Everyone was staring an adult version of Yugi Muto.
Future Yugi stood a good 10 feet from the group soaking in everyone. His bluntness from earlier dissolved, leaving behind tears as he looked at another version of his friends.
"It's so good to see you all again.."
Yugi himself was heavily conflicted. The familiarity he felt from this person. It was because he was him from another reality, another dimension. The shock resonated through everyone as they were left speechless.
"It was yours! Y-your memories..." The younger Yugi covered his mouth as his Future self nods. "I'm sorry you had to witness such a tragedy..." Future Yugi then noticed the lack of people or presence in the guilds.
"Oh this reality is very different... where's most of the guild members..?" Natsu met the older Yugi's gaze. The fire dragon's slayer nose's could tell his scent. He was real. He wasn't a fake person nor anyone else entirely. He shared the same scent as the Yugi that stood next to Natsu.
"Everyone in the guild went on a cruise ship. Before these guys got here."
In future Yugi's mind that was one difference from his world. He wondered what else is different. He knew according to what the enforcers had said and what he overheard was that Kaiba and Joey of this universe have magic this time around unlike before. 'That's very helpful in our case.' He smiled knowingly.
"Tell me, does a woman by the name of Laci Nesmith exist in this dimension?" Future Yugi's eyes met Lucy's. The blonde looked surprised at the name he mentioned. "Y-yes she's on the cruise ship... why? Do you know of my sisters fate..?"
Future Yugi looked regretful. He had hope that her existence didn't mean much in this reality. It was gonna crush them when they realize what her condition was..
His memory flashed back to after the deaths of everyone they knew in fairy tail and his own friends. Dartz had caught up with him and warned him if he didn't listen to him and help him break the dimension barrier that he would kill the last Fairy tail mage.
He didn't know it was the woman he had crushed on when he first saw her. The day he saw her first walking into the guild along side Natsu Dragneel and her sister Lucy Heartifilla. Back then being so young, she was an older beauty.
His anger flared when he saw what became of the older mage. Cuffed to the wall, Valon's shadow magic physically abused her body, slashes and old wounds all over her body. It took great restraint not to turn to Dartz and blast his entire being all across the dungeon.
Her eyes were both half red half brown showing the existence of something else inside her. From what he learned from her close friends at Fairy tail, she was known as The Dragon Priestess and was inboddied with the World End Dragon. It seemed that Dartz knew this well and was gonna use it to his advantage.
"What the hell do you want from me, Dartz..." He was seething between the teeth in anger.
"You get us through the dimensional barrier and I can guarantee your dear friends safety. Her mental state might be another thing all together. As long as you do what I say she will be fine."
As far as he could tell only Valon and Dartz were the ones keeping Laci captive. For now he would have to play nice.
"Future Yugi." The male who was lost in his own memories looked at who spoke who was Natsu.
"Yes, Natsu-San?" He spoke, he didn't noticed fast enough that Natsu had actually gotten closer to him. He took a step back looking at the Dragon slayer.
"You say Laci exists in the world you were from? From your expression, it doesn't seem that she's dead... is she?" Future Yugi dropped his gaze from the prying pink haired male. Lucy looked just as worried as his gaze glanced over everyone. It seemed that everyone here knew of her except Younger yugi yami joey and Kaiba. The older male looked away from everyone keeping his gaze down as his blonde bangs fell into his eyes as he fisted his gloved hands at his side.
"Yes.. she's the only one alive. However.. I didn't know she was there during the battle.. it's why you two didn't see her in my memories." He looked to Yugi and Yami who looked down.
Both had a different version of the memories. Yugi having it up to his future self vanishing from the battle by Yami. And Yami after the fact with his and his two friends deaths.
"Coming to Fiore was a complete accident on our part." He sighed walking towards a table to sit down leaving his robes and hoodie behind in the pile on the floor.
"Instead of how you ended up here, Kaiba was actually along for the ride when the Transporter exploded sucking us in and dropping us in Fiore. Making our way to Fairy Tail... the Guild was alive with so many faces so many people and so much energy." He smirks as the group slowly edge towards the table and sit or stand nearby.
"Kaiba got hit in the face with a flying mug. Nearly broke his nose." He chuckles slightly, he could feel the memories surround him as he spoke everyone interested in what this Yugi experienced. What his life had been before the deaths.
"Show your face! Who threw that!?" Kaiba roared in outage as he held his almost bloody nose. A brunette drinking from a barrel on top of the table laughed hysterically.
"Man you took that head on! What a hit!" She laughs. "That's a real man!!" Someone shouted as soon a fight broke out, mugs flying everywhere as the 4 males duck under a table in horror.
"Sheesh these guys are nuts!!" Joey stated as a red head entered the guild. "What's going on in here!?" The room came to a screeching halt as everyone stopped what they were doing.
Yami looked impressed by the raw strength that the red head showed in making everyone stop what they were doing. The 4 climbed out from under the table.
"Thank god that's over..." Yugi sighed.
"CanI help you..?" A short old man shorter than yugi approached the 4.
"Damn this place has everything... just a bunch of freaks of Natures here ain't ya?" Joey quipped which made the 3 boys jump on him to shut him up to not offend the older male.
"Hahahaha! You could say that!" The 3 boys pale but relaxed when they heard the old man laugh at Joeys comment.
"I'm Master Makarov. What are you 4 strangers doing here?" The old man spoke up as he got on the table to be more eye level with the taller bunch.
"Uh..can you tell us where this place is? We're kinda lost...?" Yugi ruffled his hair embarrassed.
Just then a loud voice entered the building. "Great to be home!!!" "Aye!"
Yami was the first to look over at the 3 and a odd flying cat. Yugi noticed the group as did Kaiba and Joey.
"Natsu keep it down. Your too loud this morning..." The blonde muttered her body heavy from exhaustion as she collapsed at the bar counter where a white haired beauty was serving. The brunette who hadn't moved noticed the group.
She blinked in surprise at the unusualness of them "strangers or visitors?" She walked over Yugi couldn't stop staring at the tall tanned brunette. Yami was confused by her deep tan skintone. It made him think she was Egyptian and so far they were anywhere but Egypt.
"Hello! I'm Laci Nesmith." She waved. Yugi turned pink looking at her before speaking. "Y-yugi Muto"
"Seto Kaiba." The tall brunette behind yugi spoke as Joey practically leaped at the girl smirking and putting on the moves. "Joey Wheeler and might I say you have to be the most fantastic thing here."
Laci sweats but ignored his comment as she looked at Yami. "Have a name?" Her smile was infectious making the nervous males actually relax more. "Yami. Just Yami." She grins.
"Nice to meet you fellas. Sorry about the ruckus."
He remembered meeting her fondly. While her younger sister Lucy was a knockout and very popular, Laci who had only been around the guild half a year at the time was very outgoing and shy at times.
She'd be eager to do things but to never initiate the actions. That would've been Natsu's place who was always full of energy and raring to go at any moment.
And it seemed that this universe's version of the two mages were no different.
"Ahh so you met my sister and Master first." Lucy inquired as he was explaining his memories. The 4 duelist were impressed about what this place would've been like had the whole guild not gone on vacation for a week.
"Sounds like the same Laci we know and love." Nastu said cheekily smirking. Happy climbed onto the pink hair male's head.
Future Yugi smiled. In his reality of Fiore he got close to Team Natsu which was Lucy Laci Natsu Gray and Erza. He was a little disappointed that the red haired beauty and the famous dark haired stripper. He was curious about one thing.
"Does Gray-San have his.. clothing habit here as well?" He said it subtly in case it wasn't a thing here. Natsu laughed. "Yes that ice queen strips like no tomorrow!!" That made the 4 duelist's jaw dropped.
"Ehhhhh!?!?" Both Kaiba and Yami look appalled while Joey fell out of his seat on the bench laughing his ass off while Yugi slammed his face into the table his face as red as cherries.
"hahahahaha! What kind of freak show is this place supposed to be!? Hahaha!" He rolled on the floor laughing tears in his eyes.
His laughter made everyone start laughing. Future Yugi looked at the now laughing and giggling bunch of mages and duelist, even Yami and Kaiba started laughing at the complete craziness.
He sighed smiling. It warmed his heart seeing his friends, tho not his true friends sit laughing and enjoying life like he used to.
Yami looking serious as always looked at his older version's counterpart. "You said Dartz forced you into breaking the dimensional barrier."
He nods brushing his thick hair away. "You've seen my magic first hand. I've had 6 years to make it effective in both fighting situations and escape. It's why I'm able to break the Dimensional barriers or pass through them. Light magic makes up any world even if it's not govern by magic. As long as it exists, openings for me to use and manipulate are possible. Dartz must've figured this out after seeing me escape Him so many times. It's the same with Shadow magic..." He looks at Yami, he knew from his Yami, who possessed Shadow magic that he was sure his universal counter part would use it.
Yami sighed closing his eyes before looking at the long haired male. "Yes, me and Yugi both have Light and Shadow magic.."
He nods continueing. "Everything I remember from the last 6 years. It's been one hell ride after the other. Your probably thinking, 6 years? Is that how long the fight lasted? Hell no. 6 years between our arrival in Fiore, to the actual battle, to the deaths, not me being forced to help those scum bags in order to keep alive the last remaining Fairy tail mage from that dimension. Bad news is, There's no home for me." The duelist gasps hard.
the 4 males looked horrified and stricken by his words. "What do you mean.. there's no home for you?! Your world before Fiore!?" Kaiba shoulder slamming his fist on the table startling both Wendy and Lucy.
The older male doesn't look at them as he spoke. "When we disappeared... we couldn't come back. The transporter was completely destroyed in the explosion. In the time we were gone.. things got out of control, by the same men who invaded your dimension now. In my world.. in my universe they destroyed the entire world, captured ever living beings soul and used them to bring the Leviathan dragon to life..." his eyes were filled with anguish and despair.
"They used the power of the dragon to break into.. your world in my dimension." He gestured to the mages.
"From then havoc was rearing its ugly head. It took them a year to break into your world after destroying mine.. it took... 3 years of fighting before everyone was gone.. before Yami sent me away into the Shadows." He clenched his fists on the table then shaking furiously as tears formed in the Future mans eyes.
Yami trying not to cry himself gripped the males clenched fists tightly. "It was out of your control.. you are not responsible for what happened to them... They are. And we aren't gonna stop until they're defeated and gone."
That made a memory flash in his head of a conversation he had with Laci.
"I know we'll make it out of this. Together, we aren't gonna stop until they're defeated and avenge our friends! Do what you can Yugi.. I'll be their chip for now. Cause I know you'll get us both out of this mess..."
He grit his teeth hard. Tears spring in his eyes. "Protect.. the future!!" He looks at his younger self who was taken aback by the intensity of his older self.
"You must protect the future! If they aren't stopped many more versions of this world will suffer! They won't stop.. Help me in stopping them, and saving Laci!" He pleaded as his tears hit the table under neath his face.
Natsu looked to Lucy who had unshed tears in her eyes. Yugi, Joey and Wendy all were about to cry at Future Yugi's plea and words. His anguish spoke volumes and they all could feel it. Natsu reached for the older male's gloved hand and grips it tight.
"We shall protect the future! Our future!!" Gajeel got to his feet banging on the table. "Stopping these kinds of villains is what Fairy tail does best!" Sting and Rogue jumped up with fevor and eagerness. "Sabertooth will assist in defeating these assholes!" Rogue nodded at Stings words his fist clenched tight.
Wendy looked at the younger Yugi and pumped her fist. "To protect our future.. and theirs!" She raised her fist to the duelist boys. Yugi smiled and gave her a fist bump back. "Together!!"
As this is said among the group the sky outside the windows of the guild were breaking sunrise.

In the back of the dungeon a half healed half injured 31 year old was taking deep breathes to hold herself together. She could feel the rage from the World End Dragon just beneath her skin.
He was angry just as she was to be locked up and restrained for all these years. She grits her teeth and yanks on the chains holding her to the wall. "Come on.. Dragon that's the best you have.." She pants slightly.
'I don't enjoy being trapped as much as you do. If I were out there these bastards would've been dead years ago!' She caves after her hands get sore and raw. Every day she's trying to yank the chains from the wall, she gave up trying to get the cuffs off of her which zapped her magic heavily.
Not even the magic the Dragon could provid could shatter the reinforced version of magic sealing cuffs.
She didn't think it was even possible for there to be a reinforced version. But here they were on her wrist connected to chains which connected to the cell wall.
She remembered just a day ago that Yugi visited her, she hated that her last friend in the world was forced to do things for these awful people who took everything from them, including her best friend and only sister.
Her rage sparked again as she took deep heavy steaming breaths to keep from going berserk in the small cell. It did no good with Valon's shadow monsters lurking around to beat her back down out of it.
Her memories flashed back to a day ago when Yugi emerged from a Light magic portal in front of her cell. '"Yugi!!" She cried out tears erupting as she saw her friend approach her cell door gripping it tightly in his fingerless gloves hands. "Don't worry, Laci.. They're here now in this world. My dimensional counter part and his friends are here now in Fiore.."
She runs to the cell door the best she could being restrained. She only got half way between the wall and the door. Yugi smiled reaching his skinny but toned arm through the bars to touch her face, the first contact between the two since her being captured.
Her tears were heavy as she looked at him wanting to touch his hand with her own. "Yugi..." Her tears ran over his hand as he strokes her cheek through the bars smiling sadly as his own tears try to fall free.
"Not much longer.. We'll both be free Laci.. with me aiding them we'll get rid of these bastards and get you out.." A sound banged outside the dungeon block which made Yugi retract. He put one finger over his lips gesturing for her to not say a word about him as he vanished in another portal of light. She was left feel hopeful saddened and lonely.
"Yugi, I believe in you.." She whispered as the door at the opposite end opened up and banged shut. Rafael walked to her cell door and looked at her smirking. "Here's your food brat." He unlocked the cell and placed a tray within reach for the girl and locked the cell back.
"Your friend should be more careful in what he does. Breaking out the brats wasn't a good choice." Her brown eyes met his steel grey eyes which were set in a glare.
"I know nothing of him saving two brats anyway. I've been too weak to even keep my eyes open lately, you walking bulldozer..." She spat half annoyed with him interrogating her.
He scoffs, but does nothing as he turned his back to her and walk out of the dungeon the metal door slamming shut. She pulled the tray to her and started eating slowly. She was never sure when those bastards would try to kill her poison her or use her. She didn't want to try and starve either because that means she'd die faster.
She needed to keep herself strong enough to break the chains then hopefully get out of the cell. After finishing the meal she got to her feet braced her feet into the hard ground and started pulling on the chains. She heard a creak as the chains started to give way. "Come on..!" One hard jerk and the first chain popped out of the wall.
"Yes! Got one! Strength don't fail me now!" She wraps the chain around her arm for more grip as she tugs and pulls the other chain out. After 6 years of jerking on the used chains they were finally worn out enough for her to yank them out of the wall.
3 more jerks on the chain and bam it clanked to the floor. Her arms were finally free from the wall. "Yes finally.." she could finally touch the bars. She approached them and looked around.
"Can't do much here.. oh shit!" She heard a commotion behind the door as the three males walk in.
"What do I owe the pleasure you savages?" Laci said retorically. The males noticed that her chains were free from the wall. "Cocky little lizard finally getting your arms free." Valon sneered as the shadows got bigger behind him as the slowly entered the cell. Laci glared heavily at the males especially Valon.
"Picking on a woman. You have no shame...!" She backed away slightly intimidated by the shadows but her glare showed her spunk and spirit. "Why should we have shame? For a Dragon Priestess you suck at being a protector when you get caught all the time." Alister rebutted her remark.
Alister and Rafael had only found out that Dartz and Valon were keeping Laci captive, having found out her dirty little secret of being the vessel of a powerful dragon. She let out a slight hiss in annoyance. The shadows jumped on top of her, even tho it was literally nothing it felt heavy as she tried to push back the creature.
Valon laughs as the creature rips into her clothes and skin. "Aghhh!!" She felt sharp talons on her thighs and claws gripping her arms. "Let go! Let go of me!" She growled in anger her eyes half turning red from the World End Dragon. Even without his magic flowing through her the rage the two shared was in sync.
"Good good save that rage..." She didn't see Dartz walk in to the cell as he touched her face.
Her body felt hotter as her blood rushed to her head. "Aghhhh!!!" She cried out. Dartz chuckles menacingly. "I've been saving this just to use on you, Dragon Priestess. It was a tricky find but I finally found a way to use your rage against you." While her mouth was open he forced her to drink a black oozy potion, which she gagged on as it went down her throat.
He pulled his hand away from her head as she went limp on the ground, the shadow creature dissipating. "Think your plans gonna succeed?" Alister laughs. Dartz gripped the bottle in his hands. He smashed it on the ground the label was the only thing left on it. It read "Rage enhancer."
"With this stuff in her system she'll be so fueled by blind rage who cares who she attacks." Rafael snickers as the 4 men left the dungeon as the potion started to work its magic on the unconscious woman.
