Parseltongue
"Come here Mr Potter." Snape said when he caught the child squinting.
"Yes sir." He went over to the man.
"Can you see the board?" He asked.
"Not really." He admitted.
"When was the last time you had your eyes checked?"
"Aunt Petunia managed to get them checked about four years ago. She couldn't get the lenses though. Uncle Vernon would have noticed."
"I see. The instructions are on page six."
"Thank you."
"At some point I want you to go back to the hospital general scan doesn't work on eyesight. You will need an optical healer."
"Okay."
"I don't want you doing the potion until you have your new glasses. I want you to bookmark the page and I will test you later. For now observe."
"Yes sir."
Severus watched the boy go back to his area. He also watched as one of the first year Slytherin's, Blaise Zabini, walked over to Harry. He helped him find the page and bookmark it. He also helped him to properly put away his ingredients. He then pulled Harry over to his work area and explained what he was doing. Severus smiled and walked over to them.
"Ten points to Slytherin for helping out a fellow student."
"Thank you professor." Blaise said.
The professor nodded and went back to observing his students. He noticed how nervous Longbottom was and the jealous looks Granger was giving. He made a mental note to keep an eye on the two. For Longbottom he would encourage one of the older, calmer students to help him. Granger he was worried would retaliate and he wanted to be close by to stop her.
Severus was very proud of his snakes. No one would deny that. Zabini continued to talk Harry through the potion and how to prepare the ingredients. Gryffindors watched in confusion. They had heard the stories and wondered why the snake was helping a lion. Only one didn't accept it.
By the end of class Slytherin gained one hundred and fifteen points. For once Gryffindor didn't lose any. The snakes, mostly Zabini, gained the Gryffindors's respect as well as Harry gained a new friend. Zabini promised to help him in the future.
"Thank you." Harry said quietly.
"It wasn't a problem."
"If you are sure."
"I am. If you need any help, ask me." He said.
"I will. Thank you."
"You're welcome." They went to their next class.
(Headmaster's Office)
"Severus? Why are you here?" The elderly wizard asked.
"Potter." He was about to say more but was cut off by Albus.
"Now see here. Mr P-" Severus cut him off.
"I'm not picking on him." He said in irritation.
"Oh." That shut him up.
"I just wanted to let you know that his glasses aren't helping him much and that I told him to go see Poppy."
"Thank you."
"Of course."
"Is he doing okay?" He asked in concern.
"Yes. First year Slytherin, Blaise Zabini, helped him."
"Really?" He was surprised and pleased to hear that.
"Yes."
"That's good."
"Indeed it is."
"I'll inform the other teachers."
"Good."
"Thank you again Severus and sorry for assuming you were picking on the boy."
"You're welcome and I do understand. Just remember I know what it's like to be abused."
"I know." He felt guilty everytime he remembered he failed Severus.
"I shall take my leave now."
"Of course."
(With Harry)
Ron had helped Harry as much as he could during History of Magic. Now they were on their way to Charms class. The problem was a girl named Granger. She had started walking with them. She seemed to believe the books about Harry and she wasn't very sensitive to other people's feelings. She was also very pushy and very nosy.
"Leave him alone!" Ron snapped.
"Excuse me?!" She glared at him.
"I said leave him alone!"
"Is there a problem here?" Professor Flitwick asked.
"No." Hermione quickly said.
"Yes." Ron said.
"Mr Potter?" He looked at the nervous child.
"She kept asking me how I managed to def-" Granger cut him off.
"LIAR!" She yelled.
"No he isn't." This came from their fellow Gryffindor and dormmate, Dean Thomas.
"Mr Thomas?" Flitwick looked at him.
"She asked Harry that. He told her he didn't remember and she called him a liar. She told him she had read all about him and knew that he remembered that night." Dean said.
"Liar!" She yelled again.
"He asked who you-know-who was and warned him against lying since it was in three books about him. She asked if he thought she was an idiot when he told her he really didn't know and that he never talked to a reporter a day in his life." The dark haired teen continued as if Granger wasn't yelling and causing a scene.
"ALL LIES!"
"No they aren't. You asked him what it was like to be free of annoying parents." Seamus piped in.
"I DID NOT!" She yelled and glared at him.
"Y-you did. You yelled a-at him f-for associating with a s-slimy, evil Slytherin." Neville spoke up. "You w-were angry that Zabini, a first y-year Slytherin, helped him during p-potions class."
"Mr Weasley?" Flitwick looked at the taller male but got two responses.
"Yes sir?" Both Ron and Percy asked.
"I meant Percy Weasley." He blushed a little.
"Oh." Ron shrugged.
"Yes sir?" Percy smiled a little.
"I want you ro escort these boys to the headmaster." He said.
"Yes sir." He nodded.
"Thank you. Come with me Miss Granger."
"Yes sir."
The five boys followed Percy as he left them to the headmaster's office. The redhead had heard what happened and was about to intervene when the Charms professor got their first. He was really proud of his baby brother. He stood up for Harry. He was certainly growing up nicely.
"Lemon drop." He said when they came to the gargoyle protecting the headmaster's office.
Harry jumped as the gargoyle moved and revealed stairs. Percy narrowed his eyes at that when he noticed. He didn't say anything as he smiled calmly at the raven haired child. He could see why Fred and George asked him to keep an eye on him.
"Are you all ready?" He asked.
They nodded their heads. Percy smiled again and began walking up the stairs. The boys followed like little ducklings. When they reached the door the prefect knocked on the door.
"Come in."
Percy opened the door and they walked inside. The headmaster was a little concerned when he saw Percy bring the five boys in.
"Good afternoon Mr Weasley. Is something wrong?"
"Yes there is." The older redhead explained the situation to him.
"I see. You said professor Flitwick would be bringing Miss Granger and professor Mcgonagall?"
"Yes sir." He nodded.
"Good. Please sit." Additional chairs appeared.
"Yes sir." They all sat down.
A couple minutes later the door opened once more. Flitwick, Mcgonagall, and Granger entered the room. They sat down and the charms professor began talking.
"I heard a commotion outside my classroom. I found Mr Weasley, the youngest one, standing protectively in front of Harry. He was glaring at her. I asked what was going on and when they told me I had Percy Weasley bring the boys here."
"I heard from the boys. Miss Granger would you like to tell me what happened?" He asked the girl.
"All I did was ask some questions and Ronald overreacted." She lied.
Ron and Dean scoffed while Seamus snorted. Harry didn't say a word and neither did Neville. Neville was shaking his head though.
"That's not what I was told. You asked some pretty insensitive and inappropriate questions. May I ask what was so wrong with a Slytherin helping Mr Potter?"
"He's a Slytherin." She answered bluntly.
"And?"
"It's wrong!" She yelled.
"Why?" He asked.
"All the books I read say that Slytherins and Gryffindors hate each other because Gryffindors are good and Slytherins are evil." She said much to the adults' shock.
"Well miss Granger I am speechless."
"Why?" She asked.
"Professor Snape was once Slytherin and he's not evil." Although not many students believed that.
"He was?!"
"He was."
"Why are you letting that man teach children?" She demanded.
"Enough." He glared.
Never in all his years as a teacher and then as a headmaster had he ever been treated with this type of disrespect. Not even when the dark lord was a student did he disrespect him that way.
"Professor Snape isn't evil just because he was a Slytherin. Being a Slytherin doesn't make one evil. Forty seven Gryffindors joined the dark lord. Twenty five Hufflepuffs and Thirty four Ravenclaws joined him. Only Twenty Slytherins joined his forces." He informed her.
"What?" She looked at him in shock.
"Now I have heard enough. You have a week's worth of detentions with professor Mcgonagall. You will also have to turn in an essay on bullying and why it is wrong and an essay on why books can be biased and wrong."
"What? That's not fair!"
"You'll find that it is."
"My parents-"
"Will be told."
"Bu-"
"Arguing won't change my mind. Go to your next class."
"Yes sir."
"As for you boys I reward fifty points for protecting another student. Mr Weasley please escort them to their class."
"Yes sir."
They left after that. Mcgonagall followed behind just in case. She didn't trust Granger. Flitwick looked at the headmaster.
"I need to get back to class." He said.
"I know. Could you alert the other teachers. I need them to keep an eye out for these books. I thought I managed to get all these books down. Looks like there are more authors to sue."
"Of course." He nodded.
"Thank you. Now I must go inform the Grangers of her behavior."
"Good luck."
"Thank you."
