Mark has to save his family. He has to, he will whatever it takes, he will do anything.
Chapter 8
"You will go to hell. YOU HUMANS!" The thunder roars, the ground starts shaking. The lightning is striking everywhere. Mark breaks his chains, and he lifts his arms up. He brings them down, smashing the ground under him. The lightning travels from underground right when he hits, making its way around the area. The people are getting shock. Mark slams the ground again, the lightning flows again, but this time the ground starts opening. The humans start running away, trying to get away from the ground but its moving to fast. Some people start falling through the ground. He slams it again, the thunder roars, the ground shakes. "DAMN YOU!" Mark flies to each person, slicing them in half. He roars as he kills everyone in his way. He picks up rocks and throws at the people who are already gettign away. He throws them hard, making them fall, the rock goes right through them.
"Mark, You have to stop!"
"No, they deserve to DIE!"
"My power, it's getting strong, you won't be able to control it"
"I did it once, I can do again" Mark spreads his wings, he swings them to form wind. He flaps his wings, the people start yelling as they were blown away. Mark is looking at everyone who were kneeling down to him. He gasps, how dare they, first they are threatening to kill them, they wanted to kill his family. NOW! They want MERCY! Mark throws lightning bolts at those who are kneeling. He flies in front of Steph, she is bleeding everywhere. How dare they HURT HER! Mark roars, the power of thunder, lightening, and now fire is building around him. Wrath gasps, Fire, he can control Fire now. Mark can also control Earth. He made the ground shake, he can control the weather. Mark built his own power, with Wrath, now it is Mark's power. Mark starts throwing fire out of his hand, burning the whole place down. The flames are spreading really fast, burning everyone, everything. He stares at them, he smirks.
"MARK!" He turns around to see Steph. "Let's go! Let's get out of here!"
"I'm not going anywhere, not until every single human is dead"
"Mark, please, this isn't you, please," Mark turns to his family. He flies to them. He unties them. He brings Roman down first, then Alexa. He then brings Steph down. She tries to stand but falls. She hugs him tight. "You are here to help people. This is not the way."
Mark doesn't say anything. He is just staring at the flames, listening to their cries. He starts laughing "Steph, they tried to kill you. They didn't even listen to you guys, they just went to kill YOU!"
"They were scared. They didn't understand what was going on. They don't know what they were thinking"
"They CHOSE to throw rocks at you, To yell at you! Even though you are humans"
"Mark please..." She kisses him. "It's alright, we are alright now. Please, I love you. Come back to me" Mark eyes begins to tear up. He starts forming back to human. He starts crying, what has he done. Every one here are now dead. He shakes his head.
"Steph...I'm sorry" He cries. She hugs him tighter.
"It's okay, It's okay. You didn't mean to" she whispers. Mark keeps shaking, he killed, he just killed all those innocent, scared, people. He leans back to see Steph. She just caress his face. As she hugs him, her wounds begins to heal. "Help Alexa and Roman. They are hurt"
Mark nods. He runs to Alexa and heals her. Roman gets healed right after her. Mark shakes his head in anger.
"How did you get captured, or even get here?"
"We don't know." Roman says "We were just at grandpa's place, and then out of nowhere we are here"
"I don't remember anything before that though" Alexa says
"I was about to go look for you, but then it all went black. And then we wake up to be tied up" she says
"Well, I'm glad you are okay" Mark says. "I'm sorry, for what y'all saw, I promise I won't do it again"
"Don't worry. It's okay" Alexa and Roman says.
"There they are!" yells one soldier.
"We have to get out of here" Steph says. Mark stands up to transform to a demon. He is now taller, bigger, his wings are huge. He feels so much power now. Is this Wrath true power? Or is it his own? He kneels so that his family can get on. He starts flying. He wonders where to go to. "Let's head to my father's. He has a lot of explaining to do" She says. Mark dashes towards Vince's house. He sees the house and lands in front of it. Steph gets down gently along with his kids. She starts running inside. Mark is standing outside, he can hear the yells, the cries, he can hear everything. The gunshots, the bombs, the tanks. He transform back to human, he runs after his family. "What the HELL!" she yells. Mark runs to hold her back. She is about to attack him.
"I'm sorry Steph. I was trying to help Mark, honest"
"You were toturing him, You were punching him, kicking him!"
"I had to. So the people will know that I can control him!"
"You were doing more than that. I know you hate him, But I never thought you will go this low" she yells "I can't believe YOU!"
Mark hugs her, telling her that's its alright. Vince probably did the right thing. Mark isn't really sure if Vince did, he is still wondering.
She calms down "Can we stay for a few days?"
"Of course" Vince nods
Mark is looking out the window. He is still wondering how his family got into this. They didn't tell anyone who Mark is? They didn't say anything. Also, how did the people know that they are his family. He has so many questions, like how can he stop this, what can he do to make this better. He cell rings, how? How did he get signal. He answers it. "Hello" He hears nothing but yelling, it is Lita, she is screaming. "Please HELP!" Mark tries to calm at least enough to tell him where she is at. "Lita...tell me where you are at? Where are YOU!" He yells. She tells him next to the police station. He is about to say something but he hears some yelling. He transforms, dashes to where he can hear the scream. Mark lands to see Lita holding her kids back. Dean and Seth, they are crying, yelling to their dad. Mark eyes widen! Glen? He turns around to see Glen, fighting to not tranform to a demon. Mark stares in horror, no not his brother, it can't be.
"Get-get them, out of here!" yells Glen. He is in pain, falls to his knees. "Please Mark, get them out of HERE!"
Mark wants to help him, he can help him. "Glen, fight! Don't let it control you!"
"I-I can't! It hurts! please take them away! PLEASE! Before...before I-I hurt them"
"NO. Don't give up! Fight Glen, You have to!" Mark yells.
"I'm sorry. Kids, I love you so much! I'm always been proud of you boys. I'm so glad I get to spend this much time with y'all. Now, You must live on, go on with your lives, don't hold back. Lita, I love you so much! I want you to be happy. Keep living for me"
"DAD!NO! Please. You can't!" yells Seth
"NO! Dad. Don't leave us! You promise!" yells Dean
"Glen, NO! I need you. I still need YOU!" yells Lita
"GLEN STOP! You can win this!" Mark yells
"Brother, I love you. And boys, take care of your mom for me" He smiles.
"NOO! WAIT!" Mark runs to his brother.
Glen keeps smiling, tears flowing down gently. He gives a nod to them. As he is staring at them, his life flashes. "Dad, look at this!" yells Dean "Dad...I did it!" yells Seth "I love you Glen" Lita says. Glen watches his boys running around the field, with Lita by his side. Mark and Glen are sitting down, taking care of the kids, while their wives are out. Glen is hugging Mark tight "Love you bro" Glen says. He then sees a white light.
"GLEN BROTHER!" Mark reaches for his hand. Glen closes his eyes as fire burts around him. The fire is strong, it send Mark flying back by the wind. Glen is a demon, he is stomping around the place. He is burning everything in his way. He yells as he throws fire everywhere. "NO!" Mark doesn't know what to do. He doesn't want to hurt his little brother. He doesn't want to kill him! He knows that Glen is now longer there, that is just a demon. He shakes his head, he has to. He is about to stop him but sees missle going down, right where they are at. Mark stops his attack, he turns around to sweep up Glen's family. He flies as fast as he can, to get away from the shot. Glen throws fire towards the missle, making it explode. Glen is no where to be seen. He is gone, the fire is gone. Mark lands in front of Vince's house. He sets the family down. Lita hugs both of the kids. Mark is staring at the floor. "NO NO NO NO!" Mark starts slamming the ground. Steph runs outside to see what is going on, and she sees Lita.
"What happen?" she ask
Mark starts crying. He keeps yelling out. She hugs him tight, telling him it's okay. She comforts him, telling him everything is alright. She notices that Glen isn't with them. She looks at Mark. He shakes his head, "I couldn't save him."
"What happen Mark?" she ask
"Glen, He...He-he. He turn to a demon" Mark cries "And they-they, killed him!"
Mark turns to humn, he hugs Steph tight.
"WHY! WHY! him! He was a good man, he was the best. He was my brother!" Steph is soothing him, rubbing his back. She cries with him, Glen was a good man. He didn't deserve this. His family, they didn't deserve this. She kisses Mark temple.
Mark is laying on the couch, with his head on Steph's lap. She is caresing his head. Mark fell asleep, he is a little relax. Steph looks up to see Lita, hugging her kids tight, she is still crying. She still doesn't believe that he is gone. She can't accept that, but right now, she has to be strong. She needs to be strong for the and Alexa are sitting at the other side of their parents. Steph wonders how Glen, how he turn to a demon. There was a loud bang, making Mark jump. "GLEN!" He yells. Steph hugs him, telling him everything is okay. He takes a deep breath. He shakes his head, the whole scene is still playing in his head. Mark nods, telling Steph that he is okay. Mark sees Glen's family, they are cuddle up, just staring into nowhere. They are hurting, Mark wants to take that pain away, he should've save Glen. He was right there, why didn't he save him! Why couldn't he!? Mark gets up to kneel in front of Lita.
"I'm sorry. I couldn't save him"
She shakes her head, trying to get the strenght to talk "It-its not your fault."
"I should have fought harder, use my healing...I"
"Mark. It's okay." She says.
He sighs in defeat. "I know you need time but I need to know what Glen was doing before he turn"
She whips her tears away. "He...um..He was grabbing papers. He said he really need to talk to you. He said that he found out who was behind that voice"
Mark eyes widen "So that's why..."
"Yes, He said you need to read it. He really needed to warn you"
"He, knew who it was. They turn him, so he can't tell anybody" Mark whispers "Lita, do you have the papers"
"I do" she says "Right before, his eye caught on fire. He felt so much pain. He ran to me and gave me these papers. He said to give them to you, when I feel like I'm safe. To give them to you when no one is around. To be around those you trust"
"You can give them to me now" Mark says
Lita nods.
"Did he tell you anything else? Or did you see someone he was talking to before he turn?"
"No, he was inside the station. He came running out to me. He is already turning" she cries again.
"Right. How did Glen find out who the voice was? Those papers, can save this world" Mark says.
"I have them, right here" She hands them the papers. Mark takes them. He hesitates to look at them. He is afraid of what he might read. Steph places a hand on his shoulder. She kisses his cheek.
"You need to read them. We have to stop this madness" she says.
Mark nods. He sits down with Steph and Lita at his sides. The kids are sitting in front of him. He didn't read it out loud. He gets angry, suspence is crawling up. Mark gets to the last part. He did notices what was writen. Glen has been to all of the crimes scenes each night. Glen was there at the track meet. He was by Mark's side the whole time. Glen look into everyone that was there. He track tire tracks, finger prints. It all lead to two men. Mark can't believe what he is reading. They all jump when someone walks it slamming the front door. Flair along with Charlotte walk in. He stops as he stares at Mark.
"What's going on?" he ask
"Nothing" Mark says. "Where have you been?"
"I've been locked up in my house. Away from these demons, and voilence!" Ric says. Charlotte walks by to sit next to Alexa and the boys. Mark nods.
"So you don't know what is happening out there?" Mark says
"Nope. Nothing" Flair smiles and he walks to meet with Vince. As he took a step Vince comes into the room. He freezes when he sees everyone there. He swallows.
"Mark? What you got there?' ask Vince
"Oh, Glen reports" Mark says
Steph notices something strange is happening. There is this feeling, its becoming uncomfortable. Mark feels it too. After what he just read. He is not going to say anything.
"About the demon fights" Vince ask "Like that time at the buffet when you were eating with Steph?"
Mark heart stops. He can't believe this. How did Vince know, When Vince called him he ask where was he at, there a strong demon heading his way. Mark needs to be careful, but he has to expose them. Glen reports says that Vince and Ric were the ones that play the audio.
"Yes. He...um. He just ask me to read them, a minute ago" Mark says.
"A minute ago? I thought he turn to a demon and was killed a while back" Ric says. He reacts to what he just said. Vince eyes widen, he glares at Ric. "I mean..."
"Mark...Glen is gone. How did you get those papers?" Vince ask
"How-how-" Mark blood begins to boil, "How did you know that Glen got killed! How did you know he turn to a DEMON!"
Ric swallows, "Well, I was there. I saw everything!"
"I thought you said that you were locked up! AWAY from THIS!" Mark gets angry. He turns to Charlotte "Tell me the truth!"
She gasp "I don't know. He locked me up. He told to never go out! After that I was alone!"
Mark can feel his powers building up. "So, locked away uhh? How did you know that Glen turn to a demon Vince!?"
"I assume, because his family is here" he says.
"Don't lie to me!" Mark yells. "You did this! You turn everyone to a demon!"
Vince didn't say anything. Ric is shaking now.
"You killed Glen, so that these papers, reports won't come to me! You were trying to hide the truth!" Mark yells
"I thought you said that you burn the papers!" Ric yells
"I guess, they were the wrong ones" Vince says.
"DAD! Is it true?" Steph whispers
Vince shakes his head "Well, We got caught"
Mark eyes widen, something in him snap. "Why? I thought you wanted to save the world?"
"I never did Mark. I wanted to rule it. I thought if I get ride of the weak ones, I'll reign over the strong. I wanted to kill you Mark. Once you get your powers, I will snatch them away and kill YOU!"
"How could YOU!" Steph yells. "HOW COULD YOU!"
"The chant...how did you do it?" Mark ask
"I got help. I have powers too Mark" Vince smiles. He looks at Flair "So does he. I got powers from the powerful one name Ares. But he said that there is someone stronger than him. His name is Wrath, but he told me about another, but I forgot his name. You have his power. Once you get use to it. I will take Wrath power and rule this world."
"So many people are dying. There will be no one left to rule!" Mark yells
"Oh yes. With both powers, I can revive who ever I want" Vince smiles. "It's all according to plan!"
Steph shakes her head. "I can't believe it! WHY!?"
"Steph, You deserve a better man. When I heard that you were dating him, then marry him. I got so mad. I wanted to kill MARK!" Vince says "I tried everything until Ares appear in front of me. He said he can get rid of Mark, If I help him. But I took control over him. So now, I can kill you!"
"You are not hurting him!" yells Steph. Roman and Alexa stand up to gaurd Mark. Vince laughs. Mark shakes his head.
"You can't stop me" Vince nods to Ric, they both start turning to demons. The lightning strikes them, sending everyone flying out of the house. They all land hard, scratching themselves, hurting. Mark rolls over to stand up on his knees. He sees both Ric and Vince smiling. They are huge, Flair has four wings, lava swirling around him, flames on top of his head. Vince has four wings too, but he has four arms, two tails, has two horns on his head, his teeth sharp. He has fire, rocks, lightning, ice, wind forming around Vince. "I have taken over so many demon's powers." Mark can see a crown around Vince's head. "Right now...you will fight Flair and Hunter, You remember Hunter right?" Mark gets punch by Hunter. He sees that Hunter, is the gorilla demon. The one that attack Steph. She gasps, Vince wanted her to marry a demon like Hunter. Mark stands up fast he glares at Vince.
"DAMN YOU!" Mark starts transforming "YOU TRAITORS!" Mark punches Hunter hard across the face.
It all came together. Mark has to fight now, he has to stop them both to save the world. He will do it for his family, for Glen, for everyone. He will fight his best. To protect everyone.
