A/N: K bros. it's chapter 8. let's go!!! I hope y'all love it I liked writing it!
Jaune was surprised when he heard a knock on his door Thursday night. He was actually in a call with Winter currently, she was actually on his Tv screen currently.
"Hold on a second there's someone at my door." he says looking surprised.
"Of course." She says with a nodd. He gets up and walks over opening his door.
"Hel-"
"Jaune! I need your help! Oh my Gods, I need your help! I asked Ruby out and she said yes which actually makes me really happy, but now I have no Idea what to do, I mean really where do I take her? What do I do! I'm really freaking out and you have to help me! And what should I wear!? I almost called Saph but I didn't want to because her style is absolute garbage. And you were always so good at helping us with dress up so I figured you could help me find something to wear? OH and how much money should I bring, Do I pay does she? Normally the guy would pay BUT WE'RE BOTH GIRLS!? And what about how she makes me feel!? Whenever I'm around her I feel like my legs are about to give out and I might pass out! Oooh what if she looks too cute for me to handle and I die of nervousness. JAUNE YOU HAVE TO HELP ME!!!!!!" Jane shouts, walking past him, then in circles before grabbing her brother and pulling him to herself before shouting the last part in his face.
"Um Jane, Winter is here." he says calmly pointing behind her. Jane looks at the Tv and sees her future sister-in-law lightly laughing politely covering her mouth.
"OH! Hello Winter." Jane says blushing trying to make herself small as possible
"Good evening Jane, it's good to see you again." Winter says with a smile.
"Yeah, it's great to see you too, you look as pretty as ever." Jane says she really did like Winter. At first she had thought she had been rather cold but then one day she and her sisters spied on Jaune and Winter when they were alone flirting and they saw how much Winter seemed to love their brother. So of course they cornered her in Lilly's room and interrogated her for about an hour while Jaune sat outside begging them to let her go. By the end of that day Winter and Jaune's sister had really grown a bond.
"Thank you Jane, you also look pretty, I see why you have a date." she says with a smirk teasing.
"Wow, my little sister has her first date. How cute." Jaune says ruffling Jane's hair.
"Jaune! I just brushed that." she says trying to fix her hair.
Jane, much like Jaune, was rather tall, about 2 inches taller than Pyrrha, only two 3 inches shorter than her big brother. She had semi long blond hair that reached to her shoulder blades when down, but she usually had it up in a ponytail. On the weekends she typically had a baseball cap on with her ponytail though the hole in the back of the cap. She normally wore light armor similar to Jaune, but focuses more on the arms and legs. She wears leggins with Armor plates attached and Boots with metal plating on them. Her Arc family symbol was located on her back across her armor.
"Yet like me you never seem to have it neat." he says continuing to tease her
"Winter! Please control your fiance" Jane pleads trying to get Jaune to stop messing up her hair.
"Jaune, Please sit down." Winter says calmly
"Of course Win." he says walking back to the couch and sitting down
"Thank you Winter."
"You're welcome Jane. now I can leave if you want to talk to your brother."
"No no I love spending time with both of you, but I can totally leave if you want me too, it was rude of me to interrupt your conversation."
"It's fine Jane, We were just doing some wedding planning."
"Yeah, we can always do that later, right Win?"
"Yes we can."
"Please don't go, I never get to see you. And maybe you could help me too." Jane asks Winter
"Are you sure, I can't lie, I'm not very good at the whole romance thing." Winter says
"We could add Saphron to the call for a while." Jaune suggested
"Why, like I said, I don't want her to help with any clothing stuff!" Jane whined
"I don't think Saphron dresses that badly." Winter said putting in her two cents
"You didn't see her during her rebellious phase." Jaune grumbled
"Yeah," Jane grumbled her agreement
"I don't think I want to hear about that." Winter said with a smile.
"You really don't" Jane and Jaune says sharing a look
"But the reason I wanted to involve Sahpron is I still don't know how I attracted Winter as a male, I have no Idea how to attract a woman as well… a woman." he says sheepishly. Jaune had no problem with his sister being a lesbin after all she was still his sister and he loved her no matter who she was attracted to, same with saphron. But when it came to dating advice, he had no clue how he got Winter to love him as a man so how could he give advice to a girl on how to attract another girl. Now if they wanted an anti-attack strategy or dust bomb he was your guy.
"Winter, why did you fall for my brother?" Jane asked the specialist, Winter thought for a moment before she answered
"Well, he is charming, sweet, smart, brave, caring, thoughtful, and dependable. The muscles also didn't hurt." she says with a grin.
"Dang, I have muscles but not like my brother. And it's not really my style to show off my abbs." she grumbles. While she had been occupied Jaune had been adding Saph to the call.
There was a ringing and Jane looked in horror as the call ID showed he was calling Sahpron. She Jumped her brother trying to grab his scroll, Winter just rolled her eyes, unable to do anything. Then Saphron answered.
"Hello Jaune!!!! How's my bi-" she starts before seeing Jane jumping over Jaune trying to get his scroll and Jaune yelling at her to get off.
"I see, about the same as usual I guess." she says then she addresses her soon to be big sister-in-law, (But only technically, Winter and Jaune at 22 and 23 are just barely out aged Spahron and Terra who were only 21.) "Winter! It's so good to see you!" she says happily
"Hello Saphron, how is Adrien?" she asks with a smile
"Oh he is just growing up so fast! But oops, I should be quieter, he's actually sleeping right now." she says
"Saph!?" Jane squeaks finally realising her sister was on the call
"Hello Janey and Jauney" she says greeting her sister and brother
"Hey Saph." Jaune says with a smile
"Hello Saph." Jane says, rolling her eyes.
"Oh Janey don't be so cold to your loving big sister." Saphron says with a playful glare. "Anyways what did you need Jaune? Or did you just call to talk to your wonderful little sister?" she asks with a large smile.
"As a matter of fact, I called you because we need help planning Jane's first date." Jaune explains
"AWWWW MY BABY SISTER IS GOING ON HER FIRST DATE!!!!" She immediately covered her mouth in regret hoping she didn't wake her little boy up. "Yay" she says much more quietly
"Don't tease me." Jane said with a blush
"Aww come on, I'm just trying to be supportive. Soooo who's the lucky guy?" she asks
"It's not." Jaune said with a smirk
"What?"
"It's a girl Saphron." Jane says with a blush. Saphron's eye light up and she squeals as quietly as possible.
"Oh my Gods! I'm so happy at least one of my sisters is like me." She says happily
"Please other than this I'm nothing like you." Jane says.
Winter who was still being quiet looked at Jaune who just shrugged and silently apologised knowing this could go on for a while.
"How are you not like me. Of all our sisters, and Jaune you are the most like me." Saphron says with a playful smile
"I'm sorry that's not true at all, you have horrible taste in books, music, movies, and clothes." Jane attacks. Saphron fakes being hurt and holds her hand to chest.
"That's just hurtful, I'll have you know I was almost just like you when I was your age, Right Jaune?" Jane looks at her brother who just makes a face while he holds his hands up flat and shakes them a little giving no other response.
"See he agrees."
"Saph that doesn't mean he agrees with you, it means he agrees with me!" Jane challenged
"Hmmph, do you want my help or not?" she asked
"I never wanted it in the first place!" Jane yells "Jaune is the one who called you not me.
"You should really hear her out first," Jaune says quietly
"Shut up." Jane says
"I agree," Winter says, finally breaking the silence. "Since neither you nor Jaune seem knowledgeable in the world of romance would it hurt to get another opinion?"
"See! Thank you Winter." Saph says with a grin
"Fine," Jane concedes. "How did you attract Terra?" she asks her to blush returning.
"Well, I'm not too sure on specifics, but lots of cleavage seemed to help." she says with a laugh
"What the hell Saph!?" Jane says with a major blush and Jaune just face palmed, Winter looked uncomfortable too.
"What? I'm not lying. It's true, she always seemed way more attentive when I wore a low cut shirt." she says, continuing.
"Saphron, she is only 17… No... Dad would kill us both if that's the only advice we give her."
"Really Saph, is that the only reason you got Terra?"
"I don't really know, to be perfectly honest she wooed me more than I did her." she says thinking about it.
"Wow you're so helpful." Jane says rubbing the bridge of her nose.
"Well I could tell you how she charmed me." Saphron offered.
"Saph I swear to the Gods if you say cleavage again you're uninvited to my wedding." Jaune threatens.
"Don't worry I wasn't going to say that. But let's be honest it didn't hurt." she says sticking her tongue out playfully.
"Saph." Jane says with a glare
"All right all right. I wasn't planning on saying that but now that I think about it Terra wore some pretty spicy shirts…" Saphron says with smirk on her face.
"Saphron I swear to the Gods." He says with a sigh
"Okay, Okay I'm sorry." she says with a giggle " Well what I was going to say was, Terra honestly won me over with her charms, she was really sweet and always made me feel special." she explains a little more seriously. Winter can relate and she understands how Saphron feels, it was nice having Juane make her feel special.
"That's all?" Jane says with her eyebrow raised
"Yep, that's all. Honestly just be yourself. You're sweet, smart, strong and fun. If this girl doesn't like you for that you have no business dating her." Saphron says with a smile.
"R-really?" Jane says looking hopeful. "But, but what if it doesn't work out, Saph. I really want this to work out."
"Jane, part of dating is understanding it doesn't always work out. Remember Silver?" She says, at the mention of silver both Jaune and Jane made a face, Winter just looked confused. "I really thought it was going to work there. But, obviously that didn't work out so well." she says with a light sigh.
"I guess you're right." Jane says looking crestfallen
"Don't worry Jane, don't go into a date expecting it to not work out. Go on your date and have the best time you possibly can, and if it doesn't go well, that's okay." Jaune says putting his arm around his little sister for comfort.
"I can tell you from experience not all dates work out. But I like to think there is someone out there for all of us. I never thought I would meet my soulmate until I met Jaune." Winter chimes in with a smile. "Even if your date doesn't go well, just be patient and have faith you'll find someone even more wonderful.
"Aww Win, I'm your soulmate?" Jaune says with a chuckle. Earning a blush from Winter and a laugh from Jane and Saphron.
"Of course you are." Winter says, still a little flustered. "Am I not yours?"
"What? Of course you are Win, I was just teasing." Jaune says sounding a little panicked
"I know. I was teasing you too." she replies with a smile.
"Okay love birds let's get back to Jane's date shall we?" Saphron says with a laugh.
"Yes of course." Winter says flustered
"Sorry." Jaune says also flustered
"It's fine guys, We know you're getting married soon." Jane says waving it off.
"It is really cute to see you two interact like this." Saphron agrees "But anyways what are your plan's for the date Janey?"
"Don't call me that. And I was thinking since Ruby really likes weapons I would take her to the weapons show that's happening this saturday." Jane says "But other than that I have absolutely no ideas."
"I heard about that, they were planning to have it during the Vytal festival but scheduling complications made it happen earlier. I was actually thinking of attending myself." Jaune says thoughtfully.
"No way, it would be so embarrassing to see you on our date." Jane says crossing her arms in an x shape.
"Oh come on, I'm allowed to have a life to you know." he says with a huff
"Jaune normally I would agree with you, but Jane is right. It would be uncomfortable to run into you on their date." Saphron says
"Really? Winter don't you agree with me? I'm an adult and I should be able to go to events I want to go to."
"I wouldn't want to see Whitley on any of our dates." Winter says with a shrug.
"Traitor." Jaune mumbles "Okay how about this. You go in the morning and I'll go in the afternoon."
"No way, the morning is when everything is still being set up. I want to take her in the afternoon when everything will be out."
"Fine. I'll go in the evening." Jaune says with a sigh. "It's happening in the central park. So that's pretty close to that really good noodle stand. I would suggest taking her there for lunch, it's really good, cheap, and has huge servings." The girls look at the salivating man.
"What?" he says, noticing their looks.
"It's just you've been here for like a semester and you seem to know this place really well." Jane says
"Hey, I get hungry too." he says indignantly.
"Whatever. So that is noon and lunch covered. What about the evening?" Saphron says
"I have heard there is a relatively popular arcade in Vale. if you like that kind of thing." Winter offers.
"That's perfect!" Jane squeaks.
"There is also the comic book store near there." Jaune says thoughtfully. The girls give him a weird look again
"What!? Am I not allowed to have hobbies?" Jaune says with a huff.
"You have two doctorate and you still read comic books." Saphron says with a shake of her head.
"What's wrong with that!?"
"There for like little kids." Jane says
"Not all of them are. Some are really dark and serious."
"How serious is a book with mostly pictures?" Winter asks
"Fine be haters." Jaune says looking away.
"Oh stop pouting." Jane says with a laugh "I like comics too, so does Ruby. so it was a great idea."
"What about you two?" Jaune asks looking to Saphron and Winter
"Oh no I meant what I said, it's really childish." Saphron says throwing some shade.
"I agree." Winter adds.
"You are both so mean." Jaune says pouting.
"Anyways after the comic book store what do we do then. It will probably be dinner time around then." Jane asks
"I always found our Café dates the most charming." Winter says "Maybe a Café could be fun for you."
"Yeah. I feel Cafés are just really romantic." Saphron agrees.
"I guess I could find a good one." Jane says "Unless" looking to Jaune
"Hey I'm not rich enough to go to Cafés everyday. I don't know any good ones in Vale." Jaune says defensively "It would be different if we were in Atlas. I know all of Winter's favorite Cafés there"
Winter smiles. It made her feel special that Jaune remembered all of favorite Cafés in her home kingdom.
"Fine, I can do that myself. One last thing. What should I wear?" she asks
"I wou-" Saphron starts
"Not you." Jane says "I don't trust you after the rebellious phase incident."
"Oh come on, the hair grew back." Saphron says indignantly
"AFTER LIKE A MONTH!" Jane yells
"I said I was sorry." Saphron says pouting
"Jaune outfit go." She replies ignoring her older sister.
"Um? Well. a black t-shirt would be nice, the one with our family crest on the back would do nicely, then you can wear one of your infinity scarfs for a pop of color. I would suggest the salmon one if you have it. Jeans or a light colored skirt would work well too. And some high tops? Any of your coats would work, except the green one, that would clash with the salmon." he says trying to remember his sister's tastes and clothing options. Jane and Saphron just smiled and Winter looked surprised, and impressed.
"Like I said you have a great sense of style." Jane says hugging her Brother.
"Yeah. practice." Jaune says with a smile.
"Thanks you guys, you've all been so much help." Jane says with a smile.
"It was fun! I'm so excited for you." Saphron says with a smile.
"I hope I helped even a little." Winter says
"You both were great." Jane says with a giggle getting up to leave.
"Jane before you leave. I wanna talk to you quickly." Jaune says looking a little awkward.
"Okay sure but make it quick, curfew is soon." she says looking at the time.
"I'll see you to the door, Saph entertain Winter for a second." He says leading Jane out of his apartment.
"Bye!" Jane says while walking out. Winter and Saphron both say goodnight to the younger girl.
Outside the apartment Jaune shuffles a little.
"Okay what is it you wanted to say?" Jane asks
"Well I just wanted to say one thing. Jane, it's your first date. Don't rush anything."
"What do you mean?" she says, raising her eyebrow.
"Well. um"
"Jaune?"
"Don't… um I mean."
"Just spit it out doofus!" she yells
"FIne. Jane it's your first date… don't have sex." he says looking uncomfortable and lookinig at the ceiling. There was a moment of silence as Jane understood what he said, then her face turned red and she screamed.
"WHAT THE HELL JAUNE!?"
"I'M Sorry! It's just I know dad would kill me if I didn't tell you since he's not here to tell you himself!" Jaune says defending himself as Jane takes wild swings at him.
"Just because I'm going on a date. Doesn't mean i'm gonna go have sex!" She yells
"I know I know!" Jaune says "I Trust you! But like I said I just had to say it for dad!" Jane stops hitting him for a second, her face still flushed.
"I Know. but still you didn't have to be so blunt and awkward." she says
"Yeah, I'm sorry." Jaune says scratching the back of his head.
"Jezz you should know I'm not that stupid. I'm not gonna go have sex on a first date. For God's sake I'm only 17 and Ruby is 15."
"Yeah I know. I just had to make sure you knew." he says with a sigh.
"Well. I do know." she says with a huff. She then quickly hugs her brother."Thanks for all your help. It makes me happy you care so much. You're a pretty cool older brother." she says
"Thanks Jane." Jaune says a smile spreads on his lips as he hugs her back. he then thinks and pulls out his wallet "here. for your date. have fun" he says pulling out 80 lien
"Awsome! your the best!" she squeals hugging him again "but now I do really need to go, later Bro, love ya, tell Saph I love her too. Oh and Winter too. I love her a lot already." she says with a smile before turning and walking away. Jaune couldn't help but puff up a little feeling he did his job as a big brother pretty well.
After walking back into his room he found Winter still chatting with Saphron about wedding plans and such.
"She said she loves you Saph." Jaune says interrupting.
"Awww." Saphron says looking extremely happy
"She said she loves you too, Win." Jaune says with a smile
"I love your family too Jaune." she replies
"Aww Winter… I can't wait till we're sisters in law." she says with a giggle. "Anyway what did you need to tell Jane?"
"To not have sex on the first date." Jaune says sheepishly
"I swear sometimes you're as bad as dad." Saphron says shaking her head
"The talk is never comfortable." WInter says with a slightly judgmental look.
"It's almost worse if it came from your brother." Saphron says
"Mine came from our family's butler." Winter says
"That must have been awkward." Saphron replies
"It was." Winter says with a sigh.
In the background they hear some crying "Oop well seems motherly duty calls." Saphron says with a smile "Bye Jauney. Love ya Winter."
"Yeah yeah, later saph." Jaune says
"Goodnight Saphron." Winter says
Winter and Jaune are left alone now and only stare at each other for a moment.
"What?" Jaune says
"It's nothing. I'm just happy to be joining your family soon. My family was never really like that." Winter says with a sad smile. "Would you look out for my sister too? She's getting to that age to start dating. I would, but she is so far away it's hard to always help her."
"Of course I will. After all she's gonna be my new sister in law isn't she?"
"Yes, I wish it was sooner than later though. I am really excited to marry you."
"Only a few more weeks sweetheart." Jaune says with a loving smile.
"Yeah. speaking of which we should try to wrap up this planning soon."
"Ageed." Jaune says. For the rest of their time together Jaune and Winter plan their wedding and feel happy together.
After his call Jaune went to the underground chamber. He talked with Amber again. He told her of Jane's first date and the upcoming wedding. He also apologised like usual. She never deserved any of this.
"Jaune." he heard a female voice say
"Yes Glynda?" he says looking back at the witch of Vale.
"It's late, are you alright?" She is wearing a shawl over her night clothes.
"Yes I'm fine. I just think it's important to talk to her ya know?" he says sadly
"I know. But you should go to sleep." She says in a comforting tone
"Soon, there are just a few more things I wanted to say." He says
"I understand." Glynda says "If you ever want to talk about all of… this. Please know my door is always open." she says
"Thanks Glynda." Jaune says with a sincere smile. Glynda walks away but as she leaves he hears some conversation and a familiar tapping of a cane.
"Doctor."
"Professor."
"I have good news." Oz says
"What is it?"
"It seems James might have found a way for you to take the powers." he says
"That's great!" Jaune says, standing up with a smile. Now he could keep Pyrrha safe.
"But Jaune, Remember if this doesn't work. Miss Nikos will be approached to take your place."
"I know. That's why it has to work." Jaune says gruffly.
"Are you sure you won't reconsi-" Ozpin starts only to be cut off
"I Said no! I will not let you doom that girl to this fate of always being afraid to get close to anyone. To not be able to trust people because they might try to take her power."
"I understand, but with you as her guardian she won't have t-"
"AND WHAT IF I FAIL AS HER GUARDIAN! I REFUSE TO LET HER DIE AND HAVE IT BE MY FAULT!" Jaune screams "I'm strong… but I'm not invincible."
"I know. I just need to keep this power with us."
"What you need is some understanding. I can't always be with Pyrrha every moment of every day. What would happen if she was attacked?"
"That's why you're training her. So she becomes as powerful as you."
"Didn't you personally train Amber?" Jaune retorts. At that Ozpin freezes up a little "All your training wasn't enough for her. You give me too much credit. Like it is said I'm not invincible, all I could give her is a fighting chance if I train her. But if I take the power I can keep her safe. I can keep her out of all this."
"I do understand. But I can't accept what you say. Not when such destructive power is on the line. Ironwood is coming the week of the Vytal Tournament. We will attempt to give you the power then. But if it doesn't work. Miss Nikos will receive the power of the fall maiden." he then turns and walks away leaving no room for argument.
Jaune turns and places his hand on Amber's capsule.
"Why couldn't Ozpin have made you stronger." he says bitterly as tears of frustration form in his eyes. "I'm sorry. I know it's not your fault. I swear I won't let what happened to you happen to anyone else." he says silently praying for the power transfer to work.
