"Jay come on we gotta get up. We said we'd be at your parents at 10." hailey had just walked out of the bathroom after showering to find Jay still laying in bed.
"Hailey it's 7:30 on a saturday morning" jay complained but still sat up in bed. He knew he had promised his mom to be there by 10, but he was seriously regretting the choice.," are the girls up yet?"
"Nope, last time I checked the monitor both of them were passed out hard." she laughed, as she dried her hair with the towel.
"Why do I have to be up if they don't?" he groaned, falling back onto their bed.
"Because they can't get ready themselves so it's easier if we get ready while they sleep. Now chop chop let's go." she clapped her hands, while walking out of the bathroom to drag him out of bed.
"We need to be walking out of this house by 8:30 so we can stop and get some breakfast before heading out or we're going to have two very grumpy girls on our hands."
"I know I know I'm getting up" he finally caved, walking over to his and haileys dressers to grab his clothes for the day.
"Good because if I just heard correctly one of our little monsters has risen." Hailey hurried out of the room to soothe the cries coming from the baby monitor.
When hailey did not return after a while he checked Veronica's room expecting to find her dressing roni but he didn't. All he saw was roni sprawled out on her bed, he couldn't stop himself from laughing as he walked out. As he made his way down the hall to the next room he heard giggling.
Once he investigated further he found Hailey standing in front of the toddler bed that was also in the room with Vivian laying down in front of her with her pajamas half off.
"What's going on here" Jay pushed the door slightly making his way over to the bed putting his hand on haileys back.
"Jay watch this i swear it's the most adorable thing ever.'' Hailey leaned over just slightly before lightly blowing on vivians face, making the small girl giggle like he's never seen before.
Hailey looked over her shoulder beaming back at Jay who did the same thing right back. He reached around Hailey to tickle her belly, only making her laugh harder. His smile only widened watching her flip over to her stomach.
"Ok we gotta go or were gonna be late. Can you go get Roni up and when I'm done here i'll get her clothes out of the dryer." Hailey asked, taking Viv's pajamas off all the way.

"Does she have her shoes?" Hailey called from the front door, making sure to double check they had everything before.
"They aren't on her feet but they are in the car" Jay made sure to double check before telling Hailey they were. He could tell she was really stressed over Vivian meeting his parents, and rightfully so. It had taken a while for her to warm up to them and their intelligence family.
"Alright we can just stop at a gas station and get them like chips or something" hailey hopped into the passenger seat switching on her heated seat.
"Veronica Renee halstead stop pulling your hair ties out." Hailey scolded her. She didn't like playing bad cop with her, but she had been pulling at her hair all morning and it had been driving her crazy.
"Hey it's ok just let her be, it's not a big deal." Jay reached over the center console and rested his hand on her thigh while moving his thumb back and forth.
"Sorry im just worried about her" hailey tipped her head back against the headrest.

"Jay just pull over please." Hailey all but begged over the loud crying from both girls.
It had all started when veronica had decided that she wanted vivs chips. When veronica took her chips vivian had gotten her hand stuck in veronicas hair which made her cry particularly loudly. Which in turn made vivian cry because she was startled.
"Ok just let me find a spot." jay had to admit it was starting to give him a headache
Once Jay pulled his truck over, Hailey jumped out of the truck and quickly hopped in the open seat in between the two girls. She reached in the diaper bag and grabbed vivs pacifier and the baby wipes. She gave Viv the pacifier and cleaned both of their hands off.
"Oh random question i just thought of." Hailey looked up from the carseat to make sure he was even listening to her before continuing," is your parents house still somewhat baby proofed?"
"From what I remember seeing during thanksgiving I believe it still is. You know, morgans pretty young still."
hailey smiled picturing her tiny niece with her strawberry blond hair and deep dimples that sat on her rosy freckled cheeks. Morgan was born about a year after veronica was.
"Alright are we ready to get back on the road now girls. We gotta go nana and papa."
"Go to papa's house!" roni suddenly whipped her head around acting like she didnt know where she was going despite her parents reminding them the whole week.
"Yes princess were going to papa's house." jay was finally able to pull off of the side of the road hoping the remaining five minutes of this trip would be peaceful

"Can you grab viv then come back out for presents?" the short five minutes left had turned into a half hour after a car crash on one of the roads. In that period of time both of the girls had managed to fall asleep.
'Yeah, do i need to bring anything else in?" jay asked while carefully unbuckling roni knowing she was not a pleasant person to wake up, one of the only bad things she had gotten from hailey.
"No, we can grab our suitcases and diaper bags later. Oh wait actually you might have to grab the pack and play. Viv is definitely too young to sleep on those bunk beds, and even if she was there wouldn't be any room, but other than that that's all we need right now."
"You want me to put her on the couch in the grandkids room?" jay questioned as he walked towards his parents front door where he could already here the other two halstead kids laughing with some christmas music in the background
"Well judging by the noise coming from the living room I say the bedroom where it's not as loud. We all know how she is when she wakes up from her naps." Hailey followed close behind with Viv burying her head into haileys curled locks.
"Hey look who finally decided to show up" will got up from the ground where he was watching his kids play to get the door for the small family
"William patrick halstead i swear to god if you don't lower your voice you're dealing with both of them." Hailey warned will when both girls started to wake slightly from the volume of will voice.
Will put his hands up in defence as Hailey stepped inside out of the cold. Jay and hailey quickly walked down the hall to the room that jay's dad had built for the grandkids. They laid both girls down on the bed before carefully taking their coats off not trying to wake them.
"Ok im gonna go grab our stuff and bring it to the guest room down stairs. Are they both gonna sleep in our room?"jay was walking out to the car to grab presents and their remaining luggage.
"Yeah, i'm gonna go see where your parents are"
