"I just want to talk," Shawn kept repeating. Yet he kept the gun pressed into Simon's neck. When he wasn't repeating that phrase, he was giving him directions. He had led him into a wooded area of the island.

"I would believe that if you didn't have a gun pressed into the back of my neck," Simon shouted.

"You've proven to be a flight risk," Shawn growled. Simon tried to hide his fear. He didn't learn this until it was too late, but Shawn was a gang leader. He was in it in high school, but Simon thought they were just Shawn's friends. It was Leah who originally assumed he was in a gang, but Simon shrugged it off. By that point, Shawn had already told him that he "loved him," and Simon didn't want to let it go. "Stop here."

Simon stopped the car. His trembling was now a bit more obvious. He kept his grip on the stirring wheel. They were in the middle of nowhere. They had left the real road about half an hour ago. It would take a while before someone thought to check here. That thought horrified him. Shawn could probably do whatever he had planned and not get caught.

"You may move your hands to turn off the car," Shawn ordered. Simon turned off the car, keeping an eye on Shawn. He sighed in relief the moment he could no longer feel the gun. "You smell like someone else. Did you let someone else touch you?"

"So what if I did," Simon snapped. "Also, you can't smell crap on me. Why do you care? We broke up months ago."

"Because you still belong to me," Shawn said.

"No, I don't," Simon snapped. Simon was surprised with his new confidence. Just under a year ago, he would just nod to everything he said. Now, he had escaped him. He can escape him again.

"I bet it was that harlot I saw you with at the cafe," Shawn accused.

"His name is Bram," Simon shouted angrily.

"If I can't have you, no one can," Shawn declared. Simon then saw that the door was still unlocked. Shawn had forgotten to put a safety lock on the car. Simon opened the door and made a run for it. "Get back here!"

Simon just kept running. He couldn't remember the direction he entered the woods from. He figured if he kept running, he would eventually find civilization. If he could get past the endless trees.

Bang! Bang!
