Dash sat in a secluded part of the park. It was surrounded by trees but the clearing had an open enough view of the night sky to do some stargazing. Him and Kwan had just been watching the stars together. There was supposed to be a meteor shower today. But it was getting late and Kwan had to head home.

The stars twinkled at Dash. He should probably start heading home too but it was a nice night out tonight. There wasn't a single cloud in the sky.

A little ways away, Dash could make out the sound of voices. He turned his head towards the trail and off in the distance he could see the Fentons. Talking to Phantom? They looked like they were asking him questions, but with every response they gave him they got madder and madder. Soon they were pulling out their weapons and firing at him. Phantom flew in Dash's direction but didn't see when Mr. Fenton pulled out a weapon Dash had never seen before.

"Wait! Phantom-" Dash shouted but it was too late.

Phantom was hit and he flew through the treetops and hit the ground.

Dash ran over as quickly as he could. He searched in the shadows of the trees until he saw a soft glow and found Phantom, his eyes closed and a hand clutching his stomach.

"Hey Phantom?" Dash asked. "Are you okay? Do you need me to-"

Dash was cut off when a bright white ring appeared around Phantom's waist. As the rings separated, a mounting horror began to fill every fiber of his being.

In Phantom's place lay Danny Fenton, a green stain bleeding it's way through where Phantom had been shot.

"Shit, shit, shit." Dash whispered. He could hear the Fenton's getting closer and closer and he didn't have much time to think about anything else except getting Danny out of there right now.

Gently scooping the other boy up and into his arms, Dash started jogging and then running in the direction of his house. Slowly, he could no longer hear the footsteps of the Fenton's following behind him and he slowed down when he came to the corner of his street.

He walked up to his front door and carefully held Danny in one arm as he fished out his keys from his pocket and unlocked the front door.

Stepping inside, he closed the door behind him. It was dark in the living room. His parents were usually asleep by now and he thanked the heavens that they were early birds. He wouldn't know how to explain this to them.

Dash softly made his way up the stairs and into his room. He gently laid Danny down on his bed and headed back down the hallway to grab the first aid kit from the bathroom.

How is this even possible? Fenton's not dead. How could he be Phantom? How does that even work?

Dash walked back into his room and shut the door behind him. He stood and looked at Fenton.

Why did Fenton stick out his neck to help people anyways? A lot of them are people at school who treat him like shit, why would he want to help them? Dash included?

Dash walked over to the bed and sat down on the edge of it. He opened the first aid kit and pulled out a roll of gauze. He pulled Danny up and rolled up his shirt enough for Dash to start rolling the gauze around his stomach.

He bullied his hero. All those times that Dash has punched and beat up Fenton and he could've had injuries like this. He's seen the kind of hits that Phantom has taken before, a lot of them look like they hit harder than this one. And he just put up with everything Dash did. But why?

Finished with the gauze, Dash laid Danny back down and threw a blanket over him. Rolling his desk chair over, Dash sat down heavily in it and stared at the other boy.

What was going to happen now?
