Here we are at Chapter 8. After this one, it'll be another hiatus until volume 9 comes out (I always hate the long waits in between volumes). I do not own RWBY. They belong to Roosterteeth. I only own my OCs. Here's chapter 8. Enjoy.
Chapter 8: For Every Life
...Music begins...
The city of Mantle flashes in between its normal state and another with the city in flames. Khazhak and Ruby look on in worry before turning to see their friends behind them.
RWBY: The Storm of KEPL Volume 8
...We said goodbye to all the things we loved...
Khazhak is seen, with an image of him in his old outfit standing in front of his burning home on his person, followed by Edom with an image of his old look standing on a rooftop appearing on his scythe blade, then Porphyrius with an image of his old look sitting by a campfire appearing on his backpack, and then Lloyd with an image of his old self standing on a snowy cliffside appearing on his person.
...Gave up our lives just to find that it was not enough...
Ironwood looks up, an image of Atlas showing on his suit, followed by the badge of the Ace Ops showing the four remaining members, followed by Qrow and Robyn.
...We leapt in faith, left our solitude, our carefree peace...
Khazhak, Voshkie'ahk, and Kamir'ahk appear in a circle, with their dragon partners standing behind them respectively. Khazhak glares at Kamir'ahk, who smirks back, while Voshkie'ahk just looks sad.
...What we thought would change the world was just a childish dream...
Oscar holds his head as Salem looms over him, followed by Jaune holding his sword while Ren and Nora glance sadly at one another before a blizzard blows by.
...We failed to stop our own demise. The tragic end's before our eyes...
Weiss and Edom stand together, while Winter and Onyx lower their heads behind them, followed by Willow and Whitley.
...Hope has no place here...
Salem sends her army of Grimm in on a chess board, while Ironwood stands alone as his side falls apart.
...Maybe the path that leads our way home will finally clear...
Watts and Pietro are working on their computers while Penny stands in between them, looking sad, followed by Lloyd holding his face as his parents and Azula stand behind him.
...Maybe the end we tried to avoid is already here...
Lloyd looks back as they disappear, only for Porphyrius, Yang, Oscar, Ren, and Jaune to stand with him, while Nora stands with Khazhak, Ruby, and the others. They all look ahead as an army of Grimm charges at them from two sides.
...Some roses will never bloom...
Lloyd runs forth and slices through one Grimm with his claws, followed by Porphyrius punching one into the air with his gauntlets, Edom flying in on a skull phantom and slicing through a Manticore, and then Khazhak unsheathing his blade to rip through several Grimm with his lightning.
...Some dreams will rot on the vine. Some lives will end much too soon...
Cinder walks by their frozen forms, walking by Neo and Emerald, before she turns around to find her Grimm arm caught by Kamir'ahk's dragon arm, who smirks back.
...Some evil will never ever die...
Flames erupt as Mercury, Tyrian, Hazel, and Salem appear in them before the lamp of knowledge and the staff of creation appear in her eyes and then the green mists appear.
...Some wars will not end in peace...
Khazhak and Ruby open their eyes as the flash image of a burning Mantle beneath Atlas appears before going back to normal.
...Some heroes choose the wrong side...
Their friends appear right with them, but then the ground breaks and Teams KEPL and RWBY fall into the darkness below.
...Sometimes it's worth it all to risk the fall and fight for every life...
Khazhak looks up at the Staff of Creation and tries to reach for it as Grimm arms appear around him. Flashes of the Hound, Penny's red eyes are seen before all their weapons fall, leaving only Khazhak's sword and Ruby's scythe as they are imbedded in the ground. The shattered moon appears behind them as rose petals and lightning bolts fly past the weapons.
...Music ends...
And that's the chapter. Now time for a hiatus on this one. This story was only for the openings of the show with my OC characters anyway, so not one of my major stories. Until then, please Read and Review.
