I woke up in the morning and started to get ready for school. Something definitely seemed like it was off, but I couldn't tell what exactly. I was still upset with the fact that Stefan and Damon chose to trap Katherine in the tomb as opposed to killing her. I just didn't see the benefit of keeping her alive and I had a feeling that it would come back to bite us. Maybe it was something that I could vent my frustration to Jamie about. I hadn't talked to her since last night. I put on a white tee shirt and a plaid shirt with a pair of jean shorts because it was getting warmer.

I knew that I did not want to talk to Tyler about what happened. Part of me just didn't want to be around him now that I knew he was a werewolf. I don't know what it was. So my main goal was too avoid him. I hoped that I would be able to do such a thing. Maybe I was just coming to terms again with the fact that we would never be together. I went to get Anna before the two of us headed to school together.

Once we got to school, I couldn't help but notice that Elena was walking toward us.

"Hey, Anna, just because Jenna is still on painkillers, it's probably not a good idea for Jamie to stay over." She said.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"Yeah, Jamie didn't stay over at the boarding house." Anna confirmed.

"Well her bed hadn't been slept in and Mrs. Lockwood said that her car was still in the driveway." Elena responded. "Where could she be?"

"Well I've got a bad feeling about this." I declared. "We need to talk to Bonnie now."

It led to us going to Ric's classroom. I had a feeling that wherever Jamie was, she was not there of her own free will. I didn't know why someone would kidnap her, but it definitely wasn't for benign reasons.

"So how is this supposed to work?" Elena asked. There was a map and a pair of scissors.

"Well since you and Jamie are cousins, I use your blood to figure out her location." Bonnie explained.

"Let's do it then." Elena declared before Bonnie cut her with the scissors. I looked away as I felt the hunger growing before I looked at the map, which showed that she in North Carolina somewhere.

"Can you get a better location than that?" Anna asked.

"No." Bonnie declared.

"Well maybe we can map the coordinates." Elena proposed. "When are we leaving?"

"Elena, you're not coming with us." I declared. "Anna and I will save her."

"I can't just stay here." Elena pointed out. It was a little bit annoying.

"Do you remember what happened at the farmhouse?" I questioned as Anna blushed a little. "I promise that we will bring her back, but you're going to have to trust me on this.

The other reason that I wanted to go besides saving Jamie was that it gave me a good excuse to avoid Tyler. Anna and I headed out to my car. I hoped that I would be able to do this, but I had a feeling that having Anna around me would be a big plus. On top of that, I knew that she wanted to save Jamie as much as I did. I was questioning a little why I was eager to put myself in danger, considering that Jamie and I had only been friends for about a month, but I was pretty sure it was simply because it was the right thing for me to do.

"So, do you have any idea who might have taken her?" I asked.

"To be honest, I'm surprised that they took Jamie and not Elena." She remarked.

"What do you mean?" I questioned.

"I mean Elena is Katherine's doppelganger. She's the one who's supposed to be the one that everyone wants." Anna declared.

"You know I don't know as much about vampires as you, so I kind of need you to tell me what exactly is going on? Who would want Elena?" I replied.

Part of me wondered if there was some kind of book I could read to study all of this supernatural history that I never thought to learn, but there was also the fact that a lot of the legends were just not true and I would have to find a one hundred percent reliable source. Would that book about the Petrov family history be able to tell me anything? I at least knew enough about Slavic naming conventions to know that was the correct way to do it and it was only females with an a on the end of their names.

"Alright, you know about the curse? The legends say that it can be broken by sacrificing the doppelganger. I don't know who Katherine was running from because the only person that she ever told was my mother, but she always had us never stay in one place for very long. I know that I never should be naïve enough to trust her. Emily warned me about her. I would think that whoever was after her might go after Elena if she found out about her because Elena's sacrifice would actually be able to break the curse." Anna explained.

"Do you think it's possible that whoever kidnapped Jamie mistook her for Elena?" I responded.

"It could be possible, but I really don't think that the two of them look similar enough to make that mistake." Anna remarked. It was possible that she was giving the kidnappers a little too much credit, considering the idiots that she had worked with. "I think for whatever reason Jamie was the target."

It was at that time, that a lightbulb went off above my head. Yes, it was just a theory, but I had to at least say it out loud.

"What if this has to do with why Katherine had Jamie turned into a girl?" I proposed. "Maybe she knew something that we didn't and that was the reason for it?"

"I mean it's possible. When it comes to Katherine, I don't think that you can really count out anything." She admitted. "So there is something that I need to talk to you about. I know I always teased about having feelings for Elena and maybe this is just me being paranoid, but do you have feelings for Jamie?"

I couldn't help but be surprised by that question. I mean yes, I was attracted to girls, but I had never really thought of Jamie as more than a friend. At least I didn't think that I did. Granted I had to admit that I felt different around her than I had ever felt around anyone else, but that was likely due to the fact that she was the only other person that I knew who was like me.

"No." I declared. I was pretty sure that it was true. No, I knew it was true…probably.

"Okay." She declared. "I just get so nervous about how close the two of you are."

"We're just friends." I pointed out.

It was at that time that I got a call from Elena saying that she had found an exact location of the place that Jamie was being held. It was off a county road and apparently the only thing in the vicinity was an old abandoned house. It was at least good for distracting me from what Anna had said. It wasn't possible. There was no way that I had feelings for Jamie.

"You know maybe it would be good idea if we ate before we go into battle, especially since we don't know what we're up against." She opined.

"I didn't bring any blood with me. Did you?" I asked.

"No, which I think we should get some when we stop for gas." She declared.

We would need to stop for gas. Part of the problem with old cars like mine was that they really didn't get good gas mileage. Back then, gas was nowhere near as expensive as it is now. I remembered being able to fill up my car for under 5 dollars and sometimes I would get free gas just because I was an attractive woman. I decided to pull off on the exit, knowing we didn't have a lot of time to get gas and eat.

Fortunately, the people were not on vervain . I still didn't like having to bite people, but it was kind of a life or death situation. I probably would kill someone for Jamie, especially since I had been ready to do it to Vanessa. All I could think about was that I really hoped that she was okay. I knew that I didn't want to be late and I also knew that I would do whatever it took in order to save her.

"So we're almost there." Anna told me about an hour after we got back on the road. "You're going to need to turn at the next right."

"I got it." I declared as I turned. The road was definitely bumpy and remote. It was a place to keep someone for sure. When we got to the house, we found that there were multiple cars there. We would have to be stealthy in order to rescue her successfully. We opened the door, which was louder than I expected.

"Who else is here?" A male voice asked. I managed to hear one heartbeat.

"I don't know." A British woman answered. Anna and I hid in the shadows as they walked towards us. I saw Jamie with a long-haired man in a suit and a woman with short brown hair. The man seemed to be the more threatening of the two. I rushed over and grabbed Jamie, who was still in her masquerade dress, knowing we would still have to get past him. I wished that we had enough time for her to tell me who he was, but we definitely didn't

"Attention, to whom it may concern, if you think you can beat me, you can't." He said with a chuckle. He seemed to be very confident. "Return the girl to me and I may just let you live."

That was when I had an idea. I handed Jamie a vervain grenade and let go of her. She stepped out into his view.

"Please don't hurt them. They're my friends. They were only trying to save me. I will do whatever you want." She declared.

At that moment, the vampire sped in front of her.

"What game are you playing?" He asked. She just pulled the pin of the grenade and threw in the vampire's face.

At that moment, the two of us came out. I didn't know who the guy was, but I knew I couldn't let him take Jamie. While I typically would give people the benefit of the doubt, I knew I couldn't and I staked him against the bannister. We then noticed the other woman was gone.

"Leave her. We need to go now." Anna told me as she rushed out the door. It seemed kind of odd considering that we had won, but I didn't question her and we left. I also realized that we should probably wait until we got back to talk about it.

Once we got back home, it was pretty late. The first thing that happened upon returning to the Gilbert house was Elena giving her sister a tight hug.

As she was preparing to go to bed, I went to her room to check up on her. I had managed to grab something important and I knew that she wanted it back and it was probably also something should have back as soon as possible.

"I didn't know that you started sleeping like that." I told her as I noticed she was in her underwear.

"It might just be for tonight. I'm really tired after everything and I don't really want to put on anything else." She admitted. "What are you doing here?"

"I thought you might want this back." I told her as I held out her bracelet.

"Thank you." She declared. "You know even before Bonnie sent me that message, I just knew that you would be the one to save me."

That was when did something unexpected. She kissed me. She kissed and I started to kiss back. No. I pulled away. I couldn't do that to Anna. It was then that I realized that the bracelet was still in my hand and I knew what I had to do. I knew it would only be a temporary solution.

"I wasn't here tonight. Your bracelet didn't come off." I declared as my eyes dilated as I also started to cry. "I can't be selfish, not if it will hurt my friend, but I also can't change how you feel. Whatever you feel for me, you're going to repress it. You have a good thing with Anna and you can't let it go."

I then put the bracelet on her wrist and quickly exited.

When I got back to the boarding house, I couldn't help but notice that the woman with short hair was there, I really was not in the mood to see her.

"Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you." I declared.

"Other than the fact that you wouldn't be able to, I have something important to tell you." She remarked. I could kill her if I was angry enough. "Elijah may be dead, but there is still a greater evil out there."

"I really don't know what you're talking about. Who do you think will come after Jamie?" I asked her.

"The most powerful vampire of all time: Klaus." She declared.

So the first thing is that Brandy might actually have feelings for Jamie and Jamie has feelings for her. I'm also surprised that I managed to write his this whole chapter without having either Stefan or Damon show up. And the ring works on Jamie even though she's a doppelganger because she can be compelled. Please don't forget to review.
