Chapter 8

The crew was just packing up the last of the food when Alina and Patty walked in, the General, Jesper and the healer walked out of the farmhouse leaving Nina, Mathias and Alina. Nina nodded at Mathias, "Alina can we please talk"

That spooked Alina but she nodded her head and sat down, Mathias sat and started to talk, "Alina when I got out of Jail I was so angry at Nina, Fjedran women are .."

"What shy and know how to behave themselves and wait for their man to come home??" Alina said angrily, "my whole life I have been fighting to survive ..."

Mathias grabbed at Alina hand and she dropped her head, "I'm in love with Nina, (Alina looked up at him) they told me they had seen 2 Grishan women and I told them to go and get them. I didn't realise it was you and Nina until too late, I heard your friend saying you had stopped eating to help keep more coin for my release. Again a Grisha women has saved me and I realised further that we are wrong you are not monsters not evil. I'm so sorry Alina that you were hurt and I'm sorry your children were targeted to"

Alina had tears down her face as he was speaking when he finished she spoke up, "Mathias I hope you realise after the life I have lived, become Grisha and almost losing my life and that of my children. I want Fjedran's to pay I want them to stop hurting my people I want them to lose this war."

"I understand that you want your revenge I'm willing to help but there are innocent people..."

"I don't want to hurt innocents but those who take grisha need to learn or died" Alina replied

"Good then I'm am you soilder for the war to come"

Alina nodded her head and smiled Mathias stood up and help Alina up so the could leave the horrors of the farmhouse.

Both of them and Mathias nodded at the General and walked to Nina.

Aleksander looked at Alina and asked, "are you okay?" when he saw her tears.

She didn't step into his embrace she stayed back and looked at him and replied, "I don't fully know your plan for this war. But I think we both have different tactics to end this war, you fight for Grisha only, I want this war to end where know matter who you are, you can be free from oppression. I don't want innocents slaughter."

"I told you Alina for a very long time my goal has been to look after Grisha to stop the torture and death. But seeing Mathias protect one of our own and then you here, you are right we all need to come to agreement to make a better world."

Alina walked up to Aleksander and hugged him, "Alina we will be better and make this world safe for all our children" he told her.

She moved slightly "how many children do you want out of me?"

Aleksander kissed her hard, "I love you Alina so as many as you can give me. I want to be a proper family"

Alina was still unsure within herself up until recently she was inlove with Mal and wanted a life with him, she also felt a connection straight away with Aleksander when they first met. However Mal told her that he loved her but still looked at other women and Aleksander had not told her things then used her powers and then she thought he was dead. Even thou she carried Aleksander children she needed to see Mal to decide who she should be with.

Aleksander didn't tell her but he could read her mind, he knew that she was confused about her feeling and she had lost trust in him. He wanted her, he wanted to be a family so he vowed he would show her that he loved her but also step back when they met up with the tracker and not get jealous or protective like he did last time. So when the other called saying they were ready he took her hand and lead her to the cart.

The ride was long and Alina, Aleksander, Mathias , Nina and Patty were in the back. Jesper and the other healer were in the front guiding the horse and 2 guards in front of them. Alina was quiet whilst the other talked, Nina kept giving the General the look about Alina staring out into space. But the General shook his head to say leave her alone.

When they were halfway to the city Alina looked up at the General, "I need to pee" she said quietly.

"Jesper can we stop" the General asked

"Yes we can sir" Jesper replied and slowly stopped the horses.

When the cart stopped Alina slide off the back and started to walk into the trees.

Nina looked at the General then followed Nina off the cart, "hey wait up" She spoke chasing after Alina.

They both walked to a spot where nobody could watch them and they relieved themselves. Nina as she was waiting for Alina asked, "Are you okay?"

Alina walked up to Nina with her arms over her chest, "I don't know?"

Nina looked around, "please talk to me Alina I can see your upset and that's not good for the babies"

Alina shook her head as to clear her mind, "how well did you know the General?"

"Alina he and I were good friends before I decided to leave, I was his heartrender before Ivan. Alina he had Zoya (I knew about that Alina replied) but as soon as they were done he would basically throw her out. She would come to him, he never ask her to come and he never even looked at her or any other women. Alina his heart beats faster when he looks at you"

Alina looked around, "are you sure it's not about the babies?"

"Alina??"

"he could have any girl or is he hoping that he can use me to ??"

Nina cuddle Alina to stop her thought when they separated, "Alina you told me that he was the only person that called you beautiful, the way he looks at you he is inlove with you. And he told me last night what he did to you, I could see he regrets what he did and he said seeing Mathias and I he wants that for our world where we can choose our soul mate with out prejudice"

"Oh" Alina replied.

"There is more isn't there?" Nina asked

"Mal" Alina replied

"Well my opinion on what I have seen over the at 5 weeks is that he doesn't want a strong women, he wants a women that will wait at home pop children out and won't say anything when he comes home smelling of other women. But that is my opinion, you need to tell Mal about the pregnancy and what you want to achieve in life and see if he stands by you or walks away"

Nina turned and started to walk bac to the cart, Alina agreed she needed to speak to Mal to decide who she wanted to be with ...
