Chapter 7 - Accident
It's been a week now since they came back to Forks and also a week since Edward deserted school. The group of friends were in the parking lot, discussing the situation.
« Ugh, really where is the love in this? That's an obsession. », Arthur complains, looking across the school's parking, at Isabella Swan who was waiting for the Cullens.
« He's supposed to be back today. », Ares informs them.
« Her panties will get back to place then. », Jessica comments, making her friends laugh.
The Cullens arrive and with them, the man of the book.
« Allons-y. », Isaac says taking his bag and walking to the school's front door.
In Biology II, while seated behind both leads of the twilight story, Arin and her sister Angela made it their mission to be reporters of their exchange.
Isabella gives herself a pep talk in her head before she confidently -well tries to- walk up to her seat, dropping her books down, ready to address him. Turning her head to speak, she was startled when she realised he was already looking at her. Behind them Arin chuckled.
« Hello. », Edward says to his blood singer. « I didn't have a chance to introduce myself last week. My name is Edward Cullen. »
« Oh my mushrooms, what year is it because if I recall, we're not in the 90s! », Arin comments staring at Edward's head but she quickly turns to her sister instead when Edward frowns and glances behind him.
« You're Bella. », he continues, thinking he was just too paranoid. But that was without knowing the girls. « I'm Angela. », again he throws them a glance and she adds quickly: « The angel in the fairy game is me, not you Rin! », she also fake scolds her sister while the latter looks ready to die of laughter.
Bella, who was in her own world too shocked at Edward's voice, didn't see the exchange happening. Finally coming back to the present she clears her throat and says only stuttering words: « I- y-yes. », to say she felt like an idiot and the two behind her didn't hold back into telling her.
« Oh my mushrooms, she's already swooning! », Arin exclaims as quietly as possible but loud enough for Edward and Bella to hear. Both turn behind glancing at the two girls only realising that they're looking at a cellphone. Shaking their heads, they turn back in front and when he is about to talk, he's cut off by the teacher.
« Onion root tip cells! That's what's on your slides. Separate and label them into the phases of mitosis. The first partners to get it right, win... the golden onion! », Mr Molina excitedly says to his students only earning lifeless looks. « Come on people, on with it! »
« Ladies first. », Edward says and Angela although she's older, she couldn't help but say: « Edwardo is such a gentleman…uh the telenovelas are getting our standards so high. », purposely using a Mexican accent and making a pause that caused both Edward and Bella to turn around but again, they saw her scrolling through the phone and her sister, doing the assignment.
Bella grabs the microscope defensively and snaps the first slide in, adjusting the lens. She's curt as she addresses him.
« You've been gone. »
« Out of town. For personal reasons.
« Oh no, they've taken a deadly turn. What they said is lethal for an agonising cat , killing him on spot. », Arin comments glaring at both their heads. Once again Edward frowned, glancing over his shoulder, he focused on both their heads trying to read their minds but he couldn't. Surprised, he widened his eyes, about to do it again but Bella interrupted him.
« H-hey it's Prophase. »
« May I look? », he asks her and she looks at him oddly before sliding the microscope. « Prophase. »
« Like I said. », Bella sasses.
« Was it that boring when you watched it? Because now I totally understand the fact that your cat broke your computer. », Angela comments, sighing out of boredom. Arin snickered and wrote down what they found. « You know we could just copy? I'm lazy suddenly. », she adds talking about Bella's and Edward's answers.
« Enjoying the rain? », Edward resumed their conversations.
« Seriously? You're asking me about the weather? », Bella asks in disbelief and Arin adds, making Bella turn to her: « Trust me I was surprised myself. »
« Thankfully, Isaac arrived and punched the guy. », she continues, acting like she was gossiping with her sister while writing down the answers.
Edward sighed in frustration and anger, turning to glare at both girls who realised and asked simultaneously, aching their eyebrows: « You got an eye problem? »
He shook his head and turned around. Bella having seen the exchange, she didn't find anything weird only thinking that the girls were too engrossed in their tv show and probably didn't want to be at school. So she answered his previous question. « No. I don't like the cold. Or the wet. Or the grey. Or parkas. Or turtle necks. »
« I feel like from one handshake, Isadora will want to be married? », Angela comments, making Bella blush even though she thought they were not talking about her, but the names were closed.
« « Uh Uh…one kiss from Edwardo and she's pregnant! », Arin ads again fake crying and Angela adds. « Insane..this telenovela! », they snicker secretly scrolling on Angela's phone, away from Mr. Molina's eyes.

When the last ringing bell echoes.
The boys had an AP chemistry class all together. Somehow, Emmett Cullen was in their class and they roped him in whatever they were going to do. They made a prank, the classical foam prank. Making it explode all over in the classroom and it even got on the teacher, resulting in them to have detention, staying at school for 2 more hours.
« Are you serious? A detention? », Rosalie angrily mutters at her boyfriend when she and the rest of their siblings meet him outside by their cars.
« It wasn't on purpose, we accidentally mixed the chemicals. », the culprit attempts to lie, but of course they saw through him like a transparent door. « How do you even accidentally mix hydrogen peroxide with soap and catalyst? And where did you get the soap? », Alice asks him with a smirk, already knowing he's in deep problems with their adoptive parents.
Edward read his mind, finding out that the boys named, Joshua, Ares, Eric and Jason had planned it all. « Really, the humans? », he questions out loud, making Rosalie grunt before she swatted him on the back of his head.
« What are you doing Emmett? We're supposed to stay low, Edward is already doing enough. », she says angrily, crossing her arms and looking across the parking lot at the said boy's blood singer, who was already gazing at them, or Mose so at Edward. The others do the same thing, though Alice and Jasper's attention are directed to a group of people.
« Seriously you guys are stupid! », Angela complains, hands on her hips, looking at the boys like a mother would.
« No, boys are stupid! », Jessica adds, her arms crossed and giving a deadly glare at her boy-friends.
« For real, only girls can actually be serious and get things done », this time it was Arin who complained, throwing her hands in the air.
« It was an accident, we accidentally mixed the wrong chemicals. », Joshua explains, not knowing that he used the same excuse Emmett used. The said vampire, having heard, smirks while looking at his girlfriend who only huffs and continues to look at the group, somewhat entertained. Though, she'll never say it aloud.
The girls continued to scold the boys for a minute before Arin remembered she had something to give to the girl whose name is an animal. And so she started to walk towards Bella and Angela, having seen it and knowing what she was going to do, ran up to catch her, both marching towards Bella who was ogling Edward.
Arriving in front of her, Angela tapped the girl's shoulder, waiting until she took off her headphones. « Hi, I'm Angela and this is my sister Arin. You're Bella right? »
Bella, surprised at first, stumbled with her words and did the thing that always put off Arin in her OG world: blinking her eyes a lot. « Uh- y-yeah that's-that's me. W-what do you want? »
Looking into her bag, Arin took the book and gave it to her. « I saw that you forgot your book back in Biology. »
« We just wanted to-. », Angela started only the cut off by screams and the sound of a high pitched screech, that quickly grew louder. All three girls turn their attention to an approaching van skidding on the ice, careening out of control, heading directly to them.
On the other side of the parking lot, the rest of the Weber siblings and their friends scream Arin's and Angela's names. They started running and Ares who got the super speed as a power knew it was too dangerous for him to use it in front of so many people. He could only hope his twin used her powers in time.
At the same time, Edward had a look of terror on his face torn between his need to protect his blood singer and his family' secret. But looking at Bella's face, he knew he made his choice. However, he seemed to have not been the only one in trouble, because Jasper who had been silent since then, had been going through an inner battle and now, looking at the source of his problem, he too knew he took his decision and there was no going back.
The van, coming at super speed because of the ice in the parking lot, was about to hit Bella's truck, with the three girls standing in between. Although Arin wasn't a fan of Bella, it didn't mean she had to die.
So thinking fast, she moved in front of her sister and Bella, her hand extended in front of her. She knew they didn't have much time so, at 4 seconds from hitting them, she focused on the air, making it thicker . At 3 seconds, she was making it strong enough to be a shield that would slow the van down. 2 seconds from hitting them, her heart beating fast and the clouds moving together, signalling she was losing control. At 1 second, she pushed both girls down, extending her other hand in front of her. At 0 second, she threw a wave of wind that pushed the van back, glass shattering, at the same time she was knocked down by some unknown force, next to her sister.
The parking lot fell in silence and the sound you could hear were the heavy breaths of people. Isabella Swan was surprised, because in front of her was Edward Cullen, her comrade who she didn't know how, made it in front of her at an unknown speed. He was looking down at her with a worried look, before he looked up, staring at his brother, making him frown. 'What is he doing here?'
Indeed, Jasper was more surprised than his brother and the two girls he just protected, but he knew he didn't regret it, as an expert in feelings, he was rather relieved he came in time. Though, looking back at the van that was stopped before he could do it, he frowned, looking down at the petite girl, he checked her, looking for injuries and found out she had scratches on her hands and face. He growled at the sight, not from hunger but from anger. Arin looked into Jasper's eyes and felt something churning inside of her, before she could question it, she heard her brothers and friends next to them. So she stood up, helping her sister up.
« Ella you're okay? », she asks her older sister, who was as shook as her. They've gone through dangerous situations already but she was prepared for them, while this one was like a fallen tree on a road, so Angela felt lightheaded, before she passed out the moment Isaac reached them, falling into his arms.
« Arin, Angie! ». their siblings and friends yell, checking over them.
