Chapter VII. First Love Memories 💞
Iruma, Ryūko, Isabelle, and Lavande were in an awkward situation, where Ameri Azazel, the Student Council President, was squishing Iruma's cheeks and is flustered over something. Isabelle, Lavande, and Ryūko were collecting the cleaning tools up as they watched the situation.
Shortly a minute after, Ameri calmed down telling herself: 'Calm down. Just calm down, Ameri! I must do what's necessary. If anyone learns that there are two humans and a half-blood in the Netherworld, it'll be chaos! I'll just tell my dad, the head of the Demon Security Police, and have them sent to a proper facility! But knowing that my dad is friends with Isabelle's mom, it's likely for him to let her go! Anyway, as Student Council President, I have to consider anything that disturbs the peace of this school a crime!'
'She seems incredibly mad that I bumped into her...' Thought Iruma before saying aloud, "Hey, um, I'm sorry for-"
He wanted to remove her hands from his cheeks, but she grabbed ahold of his wrists.
'He almost got the jump on me!' Thought Ameri, 'Good thing I can read his body language... It's just like that scene in the forbidden texts!'
By the by, Ameri can't read human language. She just has intense visceral reactions to the pictures.
'He, his sister, and Isabelle are dangerous! I won't miss a single move they make!'
'No doubt about it. She is mad!' Inwardly yelled Iruma. He looked over to his sister, housemate, knight, all three of which were nodding in agreement over something. It was time to apologize!
"I didn't mean to bump into you! Honest! I'm sorry." Apologised Iruma.
"We, too, apologize!" Bowed Ryūko, Isabelle, and Lavande as Iruma bowed, but also making Ameri copy his movements. They all shared the same thought.
'Now what?'
'I instinctively copied his movements, but what do I do from here?' Thought Ameri. 'Is he holding my hands to make me fall in love with him?! And are Isabelle and Ryūko trying to make me their companions by doing the same thing? Why is Lavande even with them anyway?'
'I don't understand. Why is she bowing?' Asked Iruma mentally as the three females stood up again.
The manga which was tucked inside of Ameri's vest slipped out and fell to the floor. Ameri gasped and was about to pick it up, but Iruma was faster.
"Oh, that's nothing."
Iruma took a peek into the book, followed by Ryūko, Isabelle, and Lavande.
"Wha?! No way. This takes me back!" Exclaimed Iruma, "Yeah, it's First Love Memories! I love this series! It's one of my favorites. As a matter of fact... Hey, sis, remember when we were working as assistants on this manga?"
"How will this be long forgotten if we weren't assisting over such a graphic book?" Wondered Ryūko poetically. "Ah! How nostalgic! To think we never find this in here!"
"I remember that, too." Isabelle said. "My old friend has a complete collection of these. He even let me borrow some for me to read."
Ameri and Lavande were left confused.
'First Love Memories?' Thought Ameri. 'I have no idea what they're talking about, but they know these texts!'
Ameri: "So you three really are..."
Iruma: "The scene where they confess their feelings under the cherry blossom tree is fantastic!"
Ryūko: "Indeed, it brought those two lovebirds, Rin and Kakeru, so much closer together! I cannot ease the aching romance!"
Isabelle: "Not to mention their friends being totes supportive of their budding relationship. Now that's a faithful friendship I'd like to see."
Ameri: "Are you saying you three can actually read that book?"
Iruma: "Of course, we can. But I'm really surprised, I never would've expected to find it here. We're in the Netherworld, after all."
Isabelle: "This is the Netherworld, you dummy!"
Ryūko: "Excuse us, he meant..."
Isabelle and the twins were taken aback when they saw Ameri's big, sparkling eyes. Lavande was taking a read into the book and smiled at the texts. How was that possible for a demon like her? Well, it's because she has an interest in human world culture that she even studied several human world languages, besides English and Japanese.

"So you're seriously saying you can read it?!" Asked Ameri with surprise.
"Yes, We can." Replied Ryūko.
"Then, tell me. What does this say?" Asked the redhead referring to one of the panels.
"I-I'm the transfer student, Kakeru Aozora." Translated Ryūko.
"And this?!" Asked Ameri turning a page.
"Ba-dump, ba-dump." Said Iruma.
"And this?!" Asked Ameri.
"It said "Squee, squee", Lady Azazel." Replied Lavande, which shocked the other four.
"Y-You can read human language, too?! Are you even a demon?!" Asked Ameri.
"Nay, I study human language, following my interest in their culture." Replied the knight in purple armor.
'I thought I was the only one who can understand human language.' Thought Isabelle.
"Right, you three are coming with me!" Said Ameri to Ryūko, Isabelle, and Iruma. She dragged them away, Lavande just followed being a guard for the trio.
Iruma was in full panic mode thinking: 'O-O-O-Oh, no! We're dead! She must've figured out we're humans! What is she gonna do?! Is she gonna eat us?!'
Turned out, nothing bad happened. Ameri dragged Isabelle and the Suzuki twins (Lavande obviously followed them) to a random room, offered then tea and sweets, and shoved the manga into Iruma's hands and she sat in an armchair. Lavande just stayed next to the door while she was on her phone, talking to her parents or right-hand woman.
Iruma: "Um, is this..."
Ameri: "Now, begin, please."
Iruma: "Eh?"
Ameri: "I-I want you to read it out loud."
Iruma: "Read it out loud? You want us to read it to you?"
Ameri: "Yes, that's right!"
"She wants us to translate the book as demons do not understand human languages." Whispered Ryūko to Iruma.
"But if we read this, she'll figure out we're human for sure." Whispered Iruma.
'I-It's just for validation! I have to confirm those two are humans and Isabelle a part-human!' Said Ameri to herself, 'It's not like I'm actually interested in the content in these books!'
She then told them to hurry up and read.
"I'll handle the narration while you two go for the dialogue." Isabelle suggested.
"Oh, no! I'm going to be late! I gotta go!" Translated Ryūko with their best voice acting.
"My name is Rin Hoshino. I'm 16 years old. I'm currently running late for school!" Isabelle provided the narration.
'I see. So that's what the panel said.' Thought Ameri. "Continue."
"Right. I can't believe I'm late for the first day of the new semester!" Iruma continued.
Sometime after, they reached the page where Kakeru asked Rin to show him around town.
"If it's okay, could you show me around town?" Translated Iruma.
"Ba-dump! Is he asking me out on a date?" Translated Ryūko.
"Wait. What's this 'date' you speak of?" Asked Ameri.
"Oh, a date is a social engagement or occasion where a boy and girl go on an outing together." Explained Ryūko.
Later on, the rival character was introduced and Ameri stood up from her armchair and points her index finger on the panel.
"What does that mean?! Are you saying she wasn't cheering on Rin and Kakeru's relationship?!" Asked Ameri, getting into the manga. "Is this woman a demon?!"
"Not exactly... In certain stories like this, there will be love rivalries." Replied Isabelle.
"Should I keep going?" Asked Iruma as Ameri sat back down.
The time went past the five as the reading continued. Ryūko was letting her former voice actress side out and she was having as much fun reading the manga to Ameri as Iruma. Once Isabelle and the twins ended the first volume, they realized that it was already dark out and their call history was packed with missed calls from Sullivan. Lavande standing idle to escort Isabelle, Ryūko, and Iruma to the exit, Ameri took the trio's phones and inserted her contact number in them, she did the same with Lavande's phone.
"I entered my number in your contacts list. Come at once when I summon you!" Said Ameri. "Don't tell anyone, and come alone! Understand."
"Yes, ma'am." Said Ryūko and Isabelle as Iruma stammered the same thing.
"As a knight and their guard, I shall do the same, Lady Azazel." Replied Lavande bowing.
"Until then." Ameri turned around.
"Pardon me but may I ask for your name?" Asked Ryūko.
"Ameri."
The four finally were able to get out of the school and Lavande is just being Isabelle and the twins' guard to look out for dangerous individuals on the way.
"What even was that? Still..." Iruma then remembered how much attention Ameri was paying to him and Ryūko as she even smiled. "That was actually sorta fun, right, Sis?"
"Yes. It was pleasurable." Replied Ryūko with a smile as Isabelle nodded in agreement.
Once they reached the mansion, Lavande bowed to them.
"I shall await for you both tomorrow, Sir Iruma, Lady Ryūko, and Lady Isa." Said Lavande. "If another day to read those texts, then I once more shall be your guard. Farewell."
And with that, she took flight with her newly recovered wings into the night sky.
Meanwhile, Ameri was staring at the over 200 volumes of the same manga on the shelves and thought.
'They understood the forbidden texts... There is no doubt now. Those twins are most definitely... humans. And Isabelle... she is a half-blood. I must take the proper precautions. Yes, as the school's Student Council President...' She looked down to the first volume of First Love Memories in her hand before saying something aloud. 'As Student Council President... I need to be more careful about this! It's too soon to jump to conclusions! At least, until we're finished reading First Love Memories!'
Ryūko, Isabelle, and Iruma were almost ready for bed, but their hellphones started vibrating with notifications which were text messages from Asmodeus Alice. They both received the same messages.
Asmodeus Alice:
It appears the Student Council is looking for you two regarding those trees.
And the Student Council President wishes to speak with you two, Miss Isa included.
"The Student Council President? Are we gonna get in trouble now?" Asked Iruma.
Iruma has no idea that the Student Council President also happens to be Ameri. Ryūko and Isabelle already knew that Ameri is the Student Council President, judging by how much the former interacts with the Student Council committee and the latter learning about Ameri from her father at a young age. Should they tell Iruma? Maybe not... best for him to find out soon enough.
On another day of school, Opera handed Ryūko, Isabelle, and Iruma their bags.
"Your bags." Said Opera handing them over.
"Thank you, Opera." Said Ryūko.
"And by the way, Opera, you don't need to bring out the carriage today! Seriously!" Said Iruma.
Opera gave a "Fine" in approval before they were about to leave. The cat butler stopped them as he wanted to them ask something in regards to returning to the human world.
"Ryūko, ma'am. Iruma, sir. If I may ask you, do you have any desire to return to the human world?" Asked Opera.
"Huh? Huh?! Well..." Mumbled Iruma.
"So you do want to go back?" Asked Opera again.
"I mean, obviously, we love to go..." Iruma stopped as he and Ryūko had a moment to think twice before answering the question, comparing their lives in the human world and the Netherworld.
Iruma and Ryūko's Lives In The Human World
Their irresponsible parents sold them off to a demon for money. They spent most of their time in the wild, eating edible plants and wearing shabby clothes. Plus, the teens they interacted with were never real friends at all.

Their grandfather was spoiling the two, buying them whatever they want. They stay in a mansion, have the opportunity to wear proper clothing, and eat the best food every day. The best part, their demon friends are real friends who love to spend time with them, anytime, anywhere.
'So they want to go to the human realm? But what will they do with their parents if they go back?' Isabelle thought to herself as she looked at her housemates worriedly. 'And what will happen to me if they're not around?'
She then compared her current life with the twins and what would her life be like without them.
Isabelle's Life Without Iruma And Ryūko
Isabelle's life would be bleak and depressing as she would have a hard time interacting with demons and/or humans besides the ones in her family. She would endure endless prejudice all her life and forget her dream goal to become an ambassador between humans and demons since she would see nothing good about doing a job like that.
Isabelle's Life With Iruma And Ryūko
Isabelle's life turned out the way it is now, full of color and joy. She has no problem interacting with demons and, in the future, humans her age. No one has bigoted her, which gave her the chance to finally be herself and stick to her goal of becoming an ambassador between humans and demons.
Would Ryūko and Iruma give up their wonderful lives of the Netherworld and return to the human world, where they were forced into work and all the bad things have happened to them? They were left to question this and Iruma was left unsure about this since Ryūko promised to be with Iruma both physically and emotionally. While the boy still wouldn't consider, Ryūko was glad for the exchange being in the Netherworld, escaping all the former tragic occurrences. But she will return to the human world if Iruma chooses to. As for Isabelle, she wouldn't exchange the twins for anything, as ever since she met them, her life took a turn for the better. But if they plan on returning to the human realm, she will tag along.
"It's like this, you see. Should you decide that you wish to return, then you need to only graduate with a high rank, thus reopening the door to the human world." Said Opera. "At least, that's what I've heard about it."
He then leaned closer to the twins, "It's important that you two excel. If you're going to stay here, you need to strengthen your resolve. The chair-demon is bringing the carriage around as we speak."
This caused Isabelle to open her wings and fly and Iruma to take Ryūko's hand as he made a run for school.
"Off we go!" Said Iruma as Ryūko gave Opera a wave.
The two ran and ran with Isabelle flying over them until they saw Asmodeus and Clara in front. Lavande was flying above the sky until she landed at the same spot.
"I apologize for my tardiness." Apologized Lavande noticing that she was a little late.
"Ah, you are never too late, milady." Said Asmodeus grasping on her hands, "Being their guard I heard. As expected of a lady knight, such as you."
He raised her right hand to his chin level and bestowed a kiss on it, making Lavande blush. The twins halted their running when they reached the spot, with Isabelle landing beside them.
"Are you playing tag first thing in the morning?" Asked Clara.
"Why did he kiss her hand in front of us?" Isabelle whispered to Ryūko who replied, "If only I had my camera to capture that romantic moment."
Those two girls shipped those two demons, they go well together. "Always training yourselves and refusing to fly so you can be ready for any give situation..." Noted Asmodeus. "Splendid, Miss Ryūko and Master Iruma! And I might say, Miss Isa, you're finally flying, stupendously."
"Only because I had to!" Replied Isabelle.
At school, the day went on, lesson after lesson until it was lunch period.
"Yay, lunchtime! And also..." Clara then clung herself on top of Sabnock, who was dozing of in class. "The top of Sabnock Mountain! Ryūko-kins! Iruma-chi! Issy-kins! Why don't you play, too?! Sabro climbing!"
"No, we're good." Said Iruma.
"My hearty rival! Dost thou not possess resolve enough to conquer the peak known as Sabro?" Asked Sabnock while Clara covers his eyes with her hands.
'You sure you're okay with this?' Thought Iruma. "Can I prep first? Why not ask Ryūko? You said she's your other rival, after all."
"I see." Said Sabnock before turning to Ryūko, still with Clara covering his eyes, asking the same question.
"How can I even be conquering the mountain known as Sabnock Sabro if Valac is already on you?" Question Ryūko.
Clara then got off as Iruma placed his chin on the wooden desk as he thought: 'Go back to the human world, huh? Sis and I have gotten so used to going with the flow in the Netherworld, that we never even thought about it.'
Ryūko was staring and thinking about where to conquer Sabnock as part of the game. She jumped from the desk, but before landing, Sabnock picked up her waist and placed her on his shoulder.
"Hey! Sabnock, wasn't I going to conquer the mountain?" Asked Ryūko blushing a little.
"You were until I thought thou shalt have a view over here." Laughed Sabnock.
Ryūko laughed a little with him as she even blushed harder.
'Wow. Sabnock is interesting.' Thought Ryūko. 'Iruma and I have encountered many interesting demons before, but maybe... just maybe... I might have fallen for a demon like him. But it's too soon to determine my love interest! I need to think more carefully before considering that!'
In the Student Council Office, Ameri was going to send a text to Ryūko, Iruma, Isabelle, and Lavande. She was typing a message on her hellphone for this.
"I'll be waiting for you in the common room. Send. Perhaps it's rude of me to just keep sending messages to them again and again." said Ameri. "I should try one of the human customs. Come to think of it, I do seem to recall a scene from First Love Memories where a person was summoned, as well."
She emitted feminine sparkles and typed: "Dear Ryūko, Iruma, Isabelle, and Lavande. I'll be waiting for you in the common room after school. Ameri."
Her face turned scarlet from embarrassment and she deleted that message.
"I have no idea why, but this is so embarrassing!" Said Ameri to herself.
While Isabelle, Ryūko, and Iruma were eating lunch, Acheron, Eiko, and Darris were watching them from a safe distance.
'Just look at them, eating lunch together.' Thought Acheron.
'Iruma has such a healthy appetite.' Thought Eiko.
'Ryūko isn't eating as much as her brother and it's like she's careful about how much she eats!' Thought Darris.
The twins remembered Opera's words about graduating with a high rank to go to the human world.
'Us? Getting a high rank, even though we're not demons?' Thought Iruma. 'I guess that could happen, but ranking high would just make us stand out more.'
Asmodeus walked up to them asking: "Iruma, sir, if I may, I would like to offer the remainder of my luncheon meal as well?"
Clara came into the conversation with two loaves of bread and stuffed one of them in Iruma's mouth whereas Ryūko caught it with her bare hand.
"Eat up, Iruma-kins and Ryūko-kins!" Said Clara. "Down the hatch!"
Ryūko used her webbing to preserve the bread, if she brings it for lunch another day, or if she needs a snack. Lavande also walked up to the group, waiting for them to be summoned by Ameri again.
"Master Iruma, is something weighing on your mind right now?" Asked Asmodeus being concerned. "If there's anything I can do for you, please don't hesita-"
Iruma's hellphone, along with Ryūko's black and metallic framed hellphone, Lavande's pale purple and silver-lined hellphone, and Isabelle's white and blue-framed hellphone beeped.
"Excuse me... Um, thanks for the lunch." Said Iruma as he checked his phone and headed off. "We're going to head out for a bit."
Ryūko, Isabelle, and Lavande followed Iruma, but Asmodeus and Clara wanted to follow up.
"I shall go with you!" Said Asmodeus.
"Yeah. Me too! Me too!" Exclaimed Clara.
"We apologize. This is something us four must deal with personally." Said Ryūko before she walked with Iruma, Isabelle, and Lavande.
Asmodeus and Clara had their jaws dropped and Sabnock approached behind them. He took a bite from the drumstick he was holding.
"Such restless rivals." Said Sabnock.
Then, Asmodeus was kneeling on the ground with his face down while Clara looked angry with her cheeks puffed up.
"What's up?" Asked Sabnock.
"Something's wrong!" Shouted Asmodeus.
"Yeah, wrong!" Complained Clara.
"Huh?" Sabnock asked again.
"For the past few days, they've been wandering off on their own and they won't tell us anything!" Said Asmodeus, "Where could they be going?! The stress and all this is keeping me up at night!"
"I wanna play with Ryūko-kins, Iruma-kins, Issy-kins, and Lave-Lave!" Added Clara.
"Then why don't you just follow them!" Suggested Sabnock.
"I could never do something so intrusiv-"
"Good idea! Ready, set, go!"
"Clara, no!"
Clara went ahead to sneak up on Ryūko, Isabelle, Iruma, and Lavande. Asmodeus then followed up.
"If you're going, I'm coming with you."
"Aw, feeling lonely, Azz-Azz?"
"No! It just that thought of you going by yourself invokes serious concern in me!"
"I knew it! Azz-Azz is so lonely! He misses Lave-Lave!"
"Didn't you hear a word I said?! And stop using Miss Félin to tease me!"
In The Student Council Office
The Student Council was having their regular meeting in regards to disciplinary butlers and budget.
"If we're agreed, looks like it will be declining the request from the disciplinary butlers."
"Do you think we're still in good standing, having the same budget as we did last year, President? Any thoughts?"
Ameri was absent-minded and didn't listen to the question. She was out of her thoughts when she was called again.
"Ah, yes. That's fine. We're done. Dismissed." Declared Ameri before walking off.
"Uh, President, where are you going?" Asked one of the committee members.
"To make my rounds." Replied Ameri before smiling. "It's a date."
"Did you say 'date'?"
Everyone else in the room was confused before Ameri spoke up: "Th-That's the term for an extra special patrol of the school! Don't follow me!"
She hurriedly left the office.
"President!"
"What did I just say?!"
Clara was calling out Ryūko, Iruma, Isabelle, and Lavande's names from place to place around the school. She was not being sneaky, at all. Asmodeus put a stop to her loud callings and asked her down.
"Would you stop that?! Tailing, that means if you follow someone, you do it quietly, or you'd blow your cover." Explained Asmodeus.
"You mean like a wife trying to prove her husband is cheating?!" Asked Clara. She couldn't think of any better example.
"Why is that your go-to example? Anyway..."
Three male students came about and spotted Clara.
"Hey, it's that weirdo." Said one of them.
"Is she gonna go all freaky again?" Asked another before they took their leave.
"You draw too much attention to yourself." Said Asmodeus, making Clara shocked. "If you keep acting like this, then we can't tail them."
"You're the last person I want to hear that from!" Said an angry Clara.
And then, Asmodeus' fangirls came gushing over him.
"Oh, Asmodeus! You're so gorgeous when you're so bossy!"
"Burn me to ash!"
"No, don't let him burn you. I'll do the burning with my steady and passionate gaze."
After the awkwardness, the fire demon cleared his throat saying: "Let's just go already!"
"Go to play?" Asked Clara with her hands up.
"No, you fool! To tail them, of course!" Said Asmodeus. "But first, we have to go to Come-Come's store and buy detection-warding glasses."
And so, they went to the school store and bought two pairs of detection-warding glasses that looked sort of weird and flashy.
"Are these really all you have?!"
"Yup."
Allow me to explain. Detection-Warding Glasses are magical items that make the wearer harder to detect. It doesn't matter how much you may stand out, the instant you put these on not a single person will notice your existence.
"You don't have any other styles at all?!"
"Nope."
"I want these ones! Gimme, gimme!"
Asmodeus and Clara roamed around the school until they hid behind a corner where Isabelle, Iruma, Ryūko, and Lavande were in front of the common room door and Ameri came by panting, probably from running to the location.
"Are you alright?" Asked Ryūko, "You're out of breath."
"Need some water?" Asked Isabelle.
"Worry not." Reassured Ameri. "Did you wait long?"
"Nay, we have only arrived." Said Lavande.
"Wonderful!" Exclaimed Ameri, "You're timing was perfect! I'll be counting on you three today!"
"Then I shall be the guard once more." Added Lavande, keeping her ambition.
Asmodeus and Clara were overhearing and witnessing the conversation.
"Did you see that?!" Asked Asmodeus.
"It's not fair!" Said Clara.
"This situation is the most grave!" Added Asmodeus. "You get that, right?!"
"No fair!" Repeated Clara, "She's being so selfish! I wanna play too! *Hiss*"
"Get a hold of yourselves! Don't you realize who that is? That's the Student Council President!" Said Asmodeus. "I am relieved that Miss Félin wasn't going out with another male demon, but still."
"Yeah, well she's being unfair!" Exclaimed Clara. "I'm gonna go play, too!"
The green-haired demon girl was about to charge in, but Asmodeus held her back.
"You clearly have no idea how severe the situation is!" Said Asmodeus. "Since Miss Ryūko, Miss Isa, and Master Iruma obviously want to reign over this school, they are the biggest obstacle in their way. It's clear that the Student Council currently rules over everything here!"
"Those look good on you!"
"Would you listen?! Don't you see?! They're trying to get the Student Council in their clutches so they can one day gain control over them! And Miss Félin is protecting them in case of an attack!"
"Wha...?"
"I knew they had to be plotting something but to think this plan was overtaking the Council! And they don't want any harm to befall us, so they've been doing this on their own..."
"Off to play!"
He restrained Clara's further movements before she could wander off.
"I can't just stay here! I need to observe Miss Ryūko, Master Iruma, Miss Isabelle, and Miss Félin's bravery in closer detail!"
With Ameri, Isabelle, Iruma, Ryūko, and Lavande
Ryūko gave Iruma the fifth volume. Lavande just stood at the door again, standing like a royal guard.
"Okay, ready to begin?" Began Iruma, "We'll be starting with Volume 5, since that's where we left off."
"Indeed!" Exclaimed Ameri with her horn-like hair tufts moved in excitement.
"Wait long?" Re-enacted Ryūko.
"Not at all. Just got here." Translated Iruma.
Note: In all manga translation scenes, Ryūko's lines are in Bold. Iruma's lines are in Italic. Isabelle's line are Underlined.
"So, where should we go?"
"Fly safe."
"You're so kind, Kakeru."
"Do you have a dream, Rin?"
"Yes. There was one I was pursuing for a really long time. But it finally came true."
"Oh?"
"My current dream is to use my strength to do all I can to protect the one I love. So my dream right now is to be a beautiful bride."
"Ba-dump."
As Lavande just listened to the translations, the last text of Rin somehow melted her heart.
'Use the strength to protect the one I love?' Thought Lavande touching her heart. 'I never want to toy with another one's feelings, as it is equivalent to lying and betraying to that certain someone. But, who do I fancy?'
"So, dreams..." Ameri was writing something on her notebook, "Ah, referring ambitions!"
"Well, sure, I guess..." Replied Iruma.
"Dreams are either equivalent to something you see or think of while sleeping or an aspiration to aim for." Said Isabelle.
"So now, she'll destroy anyone who gets in her way and throw them aside like garbage!" Exclaimed Ameri.
"Surely you jest, Ameri." Said Ryūko, "Rin won't be tearing or throwing away anything or anyone."
"So there won't be throwing?" Asked Ameri, "That's disappointing?"
"Oh, yeah, dreams." Iruma asked Ameri: "Ameri... If I could ask, do you have any dreams for the future?"
"Dreams? You're asking me?" The redhead looked down at her Student Council armband. "I am very proud to be a demon, through and through. And my desire is for the other demons to be just as proud. That's why... I want to inspire the minds of the students here and make this a house of learning that any demon would long to attend. That is my ambition. I'll be helping with my father's work after I graduate, but it's clear what I must do before then."
"Wanting others to have pride in being demons, improving the nature of students here, and make this place a school that any demon would want to attend? What an honorable ambition of yours, Ameri!" Complimented Ryūko.
"Very honorable, indeed." Added Lavande, "If you are to ask of my dreams, that can be answered if you know the Félin bloodline. My father, Sombre Félin, too, was a knight. He possessed the power to manipulate the shadows and is an infamous man of armor. But, in my bloodline, only the males were longing to become knights. Females knights have neither existed in Demon History nor my bloodline, I was the only child of my family, too. Tis' the reason why... I want to change the minds of other demons, that even female demons take pride in accomplishing what male demons can be. A female demon knight I am."
"What an awe-struck ambition, Lavande!" Said Isabelle, "You're changing the minds of misogynists who discriminate female demons in whatever they do that male demons do!"
"Although, I am interested in working in a bakery or as a florist, too." Said a flustered Ameri, "Why, do you have any ambitions to speak of?"
"I do." Said Isabelle before she faltered. "But it's better for me not to say it right now. But I will tell you this: I want to bring the dawn of a new age of peace and prosperity throughout the Netherworld and beyond."
"Huh? Do I have any? Let me think on that. Honestly, I'm pretty satisfied just having fun with all the people I met around here." Said Iruma.
"Surely you heard during the entrance ceremony, that I want to achieve the best of my years in Babylus as a student." Said Ryūko, remembering her speech during the entrance ceremony.
"Your sister and housemate have the right points of their ambitions, but you, Iruma, that's only an idea." Said Ameri, unsatisfied with Iruma's answer, "I asked you what your ambitions are. Ideas and ambitions are different. What I want to know is what you want to grasp for yourself. Your desire. So, I'll ask you again, Iruma, and tell me the truth. What is your dream?"
"A dream? Me?"
Asmodeus and Clara were secretly standing outside the common room window, seeing the whole conversation, but not able to hear anything.
"Now can I charge in now?" Asked Clara.
"Absolutely not!" Said Asmodeus.
~Interval~
Iruma: "Off we go!"
Opera: "Have a lovely day."
Right after the three left, Sullivan came with the carriage.
"Sorry I'm late!" Said Sullivan, "Wait, where are the kids?"
"They actually headed off to school already." Said Opera.
"What?! I must find them!" Exclaimed Sullivan. He then started to chase after Isabelle, Ryūko, and Iruma.
"Come back, Iruma, Ryūko, and Isabelle! Don't be shy! Let Grandpa/Lord Sullivan give you a ride!" Shouted Sullivan.
"Seriously, Lord Sullivan, you need to stop doing that!" Said Isabelle.
They might've actually stood out less if they'd just gotten on the carriage.
