Here it is, hopefully, you guys like it! Also, thanks for all the favorites, follows, and reviews! I am glad to see you guys are still reading even with the long gap! I really appreciate it.

Also, I messed up Hisashi's name in the previous chapter, so I fixed that. I don't know if there was an update or not, but if there was, sorry about that.

To the comments!

Darkpaladin89- If he does become a hero, he won't be a musical one. I just wanted to make my characters a little more developed. I don't want them to be one-dimensional. They are more than heroes and need hobbies, etc. I like the idea though!

TehStorm- I want to get to UA so badly man you can't even imagine. I have so many cool ideas, but I want to set a really good background to the story, so it isn't one of those crappy stories. Hopefully, you are still here when I get there.

Omnipotent X- Yea, sorry for the overdue chapter, life and all. He will be, it just takes time. He will still be Izuku but more confident, friends, etc.

To the story!

"Hisashi?!"

Inko said with a note of surprise and excitement as she said her husband's name out loud. Hisashi rarely called due to the drastic time-zone difference between Japan and the United States, and usually only wrote letters to the family every month or so due to his busy schedule at work, so it was quite a surprise to hear from him today.

"Is that Dad?" Tadashi asked nonplused as he continued to eat his food.

"Dad!", Izuku shouted, nearly knocking his food off the table with the sudden movement of the four-year-old hearing his father's name.

Both of the Midoriya brothers had different responses to the exclamation of their father's name. Izuku with unbridled excitement, and Tadashi with questioning trepidation. For Tadashi, his father brought up a multitude of emotions, both good and bad. Tadashi could count the times he had seen his father in person on one hand, and each time he visited or called felt more like a doctor's check-up than an actual fatherly visit. Maybe his visits felt like that because of his father's close attachment/obsession to his job, which his visits usually revolved around, and because of this Tadashi could never really see Hisashi as a truly fatherly figure. But even with that belief, Tadashi could never blame his father for that mindset since Hisashi was the sole reason he and the rest of his family lived as comfortably as they did. While the safety and comfortability didn't truly replace the father figure that was lacking in Tadashi's life, the sacrifice his father made for their family slightly made up for the fact that the family rarely saw Hisashi.

For Izuku on the other hand, his father was just as important to him as All Might and the other hero's he saw on T.V. The reasoning behind this was because of their father's job. Hisashi worked for a science company that focused on enhancing and supporting heroes. Although the company focused primarily on American hero's, which made it hard for Izuku to see most of what his father and the rest of his company did. Some of their equipment would eventually make its way to Japan, which allowed Izuku to see the valuable work that Hisashi does for the heroes, thus earning favorability from his youngest son.

Getting over her initial shock, and the slight outbursts from her two sons, Inko returned her attention to the phone call with her husband, as they both conversed with each other.

"Honey, is it okay for you to be calling? Isn't it," Inko quickly looks to their clock hanging in the dining room that was saying 7:00 pm. "It's 4 am Hisashi, you should still be in bed!"

"Don't worry about me Inko, I had a long night at the labs, and I actually just got home. I haven't called in a while and I thought that I could call you guys before I went to bed, and before you ask, I have the day off so I can and will be sleeping in."

Inko let out a small sigh in relief hearing that, "Well I don't want to keep you up too long, I'll only ask a few questions before I hand the phone to the boys. How is the job, are you working on your personal project still?"

"Sadly, I am. Work keeps giving me more and more tasks, and with the added workload I can never find enough time in the day to work on it. I feel like I've gotten so close to finally solving the issues involved with the stuff, but only time will tell right?"

Both Tadashi and Izuku listened in on the conversation, both slightly interested in what their father had to say. When Inko brought up the question about Hisashi's personal project, Izuku became excited, while Tadashi merely rolled his eyes.

For over 7 years, Hisashi has been working on a project that should, in theory, be able to give a hero a large boost to their quirk for a short time. While it was a promising idea, the length at which Hisashi had been working on the drug, and the side effects that were still prevalent in the mixture caused little support for Hisashi. So, Hisashi was forced to work on the serum on his own time, and as he previously said to Inko, Hisashi's personal time was at an all-time low.

So, the commentary about the project was a common talking point when their father was around, thus causing the reactions from the Midoriya boys.

"Well, I am glad that work is keeping you busy, but I am sorry to hear that your project is on the back burner, but hopefully you will find some time in the future. Everything here is pretty good, there isn't a lot new with me, just taking care of the boys and the house. Mutsuki took me to a nice café across town a few days ago, it was really good, we will have to go when you visit next. The boys probably have the most news for you so I will let them tell you." As Inko gets ready to call Izuku over, Hisashi speaks up.

"Do you mind if I talk to Tadashi first? We didn't talk for that long last time I called, and I always feel a bit guilty since I am never there for him."

"Sure, I don't mind, hopefully, Tadashi doesn't either, give me a second," Inko looks towards Tadashi, "Tadashi, your father wants to speak with you."

"Fine, but if he talks about work I'm giving it straight to Izuku," Tadashi says as he gets up from the table and walks towards the phone and his mother. Inko gives her son a stern look at his comment before giving the phone to her son and going back to the table with Izuku.

Tadashi brings the phone to his face, "Hey dad."

"Hey Tadashi, how are you doing? I heard you and Izuku have a lot to tell me!"

Tadashi could hear the bubbling curiosity in his father's voice at the concept of something new happening. "Well, I started playing the piano at school. Ms. Koda, my music teacher says I am really good for someone my age, but I think I am alright. I'll be playing in an upcoming assembly with some of my other classmates so I think it's going to be fun, my friend Nejire will be there, so I am really excited and nervous."

"You are playing the piano! And you finally made a friend! That's amazing! I am so happy for you Tadashi! I will ask your mother if she can record the performance so I can hear you play. Maybe I'll ask her to send me a photo of you and your friend as well." Hisashi said, happiness and excitement oozing out of every word he said.

Tadashi let out a small smile at the words of his father, feeling pleased that his father was happy for him. "I'll ask mom to bring her camera so that we can send you some pictures and videos from the performance.

"That's good, that's good. I don't think anything else could top that news, but how's your quirk doing? Are you getting better at it?"

And instantly Tadashi's smile turned into a frown at his father's words. "It's fine dad, it's pretty much the same as when I talked to you last."

"Are you sure about that? Are you feeling fatigued from overusing it, feeling any source of weakness, any concerns at all?" Hisashi said, and a slight sound of a pencil writing on a piece of paper could be heard in the background as Hisashi continued to question Tadashi on his quirk.

Tadashi barely paid attention as his father continued overanalyzing everything he answered, even though everything was practically the same since he asked the same questions last time they talked. Just before his dad could ask even more questions about his quirk and how he felt, Tadashi used his quirk on the phone and moved the phone over to Izuku, tired of the scientific side of his father already. More questions could be heard as the phone floated towards Izuku, but since it wasn't his probably anymore, Tadashi walked back to the table and once again began to slowly eat his food.

Izuku looked between the phone and Tadashi, all the while Hisashi was continuing to sprout out question after question about Tadashi's quirk.

Tadashi gave Izuku a small gesture with his hand, as if he was saying, 'go on, he won't bite, much.'

After a few heavy breathes, Izuku gaining the small amount of courage he needed to try and interrupt his father's pestering.

With a somewhat less than normal volume of voice, Izuku spoke into the phone, "Dad? It's me Izuku."

"What about a weight limit have you hit that yet? Are you relying too much on your quirk?" No response.

"Dad!" Again Izuku tried to gain his father's attention, this time with a bit louder tone, but his father continued with the questions.

"Have you been getting a lot of headaches, nose bleeds, what about-"

"DAD!" Izuku practically shouted in the phone's receiver, stopping not only his father's rambling but also his mother and brother who hadn't expect the loud outburst from the four-year-old.

"Izuku?" Hisashi said, with a bit of surprise lacing his voice. "When did you get on the phone, I thought I was talking to Tadashi?"

"I-I-I've been on the phone with you for the p-p-past few moments. I t-tried to get your attention before, but you weren't listening, so I um, decided to raise my voice… I-I-I'm really sorry!" As Izuku talked, his face began to turn redder and redder as his embarrassment of not only shouting at his dad but also interrupting him mid-sentence.

"I d-d-didn't mean to! I just c-c-couldn't think of anything else to do! I'm sorry dad!" Nervousness was now beginning to settle in as Hisashi had still yet to say anything to Izuku.

"D-d-dad, are you still the-"

Before Izuku could finish his sentence a loud laugh could be heard from the other end of the phone. "I never thought you, Izuku, would have to shout at me, your brother, definitely but you, never." Hisashi continued to laugh, all the while Izuku grew more and more embarrassed at his father's words.

"Don't feel bad Izuku, sometimes I need someone to shout at me, especially when it comes to worrying about you and Tadashi! Ask your mother, she sometimes needed to give me a small bump on the head to get my attention! But let's forget about that, so tell me, how is my youngest son doing, hmm?"

Izuku's embarrassment and nervousness slowly vanished as he started to converse more with his father. "Well, I've been watching a lot of heroes on the computer, especially All Might! Umm, Kaachan got his quirk a couple of months ago and it is really cool! We haven't been hanging out as much as we use to, but mom was able to make a play date for us next weekend at Tadashi's school, so I am excited about that!"

"That's amazing Izuku, I am happy for you! I've looked into All Might a few times too! Believe it or not, I actually got to talk with David Shield a few times when he and our company collaborated on a new support item. Although I was never able to talk to All Might himself, hearing the stories from David Shield made me think I was standing right next to the hero! Mr. Shield is probably a bigger fan than you are Izuku!

With that comment, Hisashi let out a loud laugh, remembering those select conversations that Mr. Shield wouldn't stop talking about All Might, very similar to Izuku.

"But aside from that, you said something about Bakugo's quirk but what about yours?! I know you weren't showing any signs when I called a few months ago, but some signs should have shown up by now right, you are turning four in a few weeks so some signs should have shown up by now?"

Hisashi began to go back into scientist mode as he started to slightly mumble to himself.

"It can't be a mutation quirk since you still look the same from when I saw you last, and because neither of our families has any mutation quirks… It is most likely an emitter type because of his mother or transformation because of mine… With the way Tadashi turned out, I believe that Izuku should be around the same level or higher in strength, but that all depends on the type of quirk…"

Hisashi continued to babble to himself on the concept, while Izuku remained silent. If Hisashi could see his son, he would have seen the grief appear at the mention of his quirk, or lack of to be precise.

Although Inko and Tadashi could not hear the conversation between Izuku and Hisashi, they did see the transition and could only guess at the topic at hand.

Still oblivious to his son, Hisashi continued to mutter to himself, "It also doesn't always have to be related to the quirk, Tadashi is-",

"I don't have a quirk." Izuku interrupted hollowly, almost barely audible to everyone listening, but the tone of hurt in Izuku's words instantly got Hiahsi's attention.

"W-w-what did you say Izuku? D-did you just say you don't have a quirk?" Surprise, along with disbelief could be heard in Hisashi's question as Izuku once again answered his dad.

"I-I am q-q-quirkless dad. W-w-we went to the doctors two months ago and he told all of us I am quirkless… I-I-I'm s-s-so s-sorry dad!" At this point, Izuku was in tears, with Inko rising from the table and hugging her son as he continued to cry and confess to his father on the phone. At this point, Tadashi had stopped eating and silently started glaring at the phone, hoping his father could feel his frustration through the phone.

Izuku was trying desperately to talk to his father through his sobbing but the other end of the phone remained silent as if the realization of Izuku being quirkless had left Hisashi speechless.

"I-I-I'm s-s-so s-sorry dad! I-I-It's a-all my f-f-fault! I'll k-k-keep trying!" Although talking through the sobs, these words could be heard by both Tadashi and Inko who both showed expressions of distress at the comments Izuku was making.

After a few minutes of Izuku continuing to sob into the phone as he said sorry, Inko had had enough and quickly grabbed the phone from Izuku as she began to shout Hisashi's name into the receiver, all the while Izuku tried desperately to grab the phone from his mother's hand as he practically screamed sorry, over, and over again. It had gotten to the point that Tadashi had rushed over to the duo and was forced to physically hold Izuku down with his quirk and his body as Izuku hysterically tried to reach for the phone, occasionally breaking free physically from Tadashi and his quirk, but never enough to break both.

Izuku was an utter mess as he tried, and failed to reach his father, both with his hands as they were constrained by Tadashi, and through his voice, as the phone receiver remained silent at his hysterical pleas. Only one thought was present in the mind of Izuku Midoriya, 'I need to apologize! It is all my fault! I am so sorry dad!' Over and over did these thoughts go through his head that nothing else mattered to Izuku but to try and get a hold of his dad so he can once again apologize for his quirklessness.

Before even more damaging thoughts could plague the mind of Izuku, a voice broke through the noise of the Midoriya family, stopping the shouting, screaming, and sobbing.

"Inko, I've got to go back to work, something very urgent has come up, I'll try and call soon and apologize to Izuku, bye!"

And just like that, Hisashi once again became silent, but this time, with the added sound of the dial tone coming from the end call.

All that could be heard now, was the dial tone and the labored breathing of Izuku as all three of the Midoriya's had different responses to Hisashi's dropped call.

Inko, who slowly slid down the wall with the phone in her hand was in utter disbelief, not knowing how to salvage anything that just happened between her son and Hisashi.

Izuku, still confined to Tadashi and his quirk, breathed heavily, trying, and failing to get his breath back from what had just happened, starred lifelessly at where the phone had been before, unable to look away from where the phone had been previously.

And Tadashi, who was hugging/holding Izuku down, had utter hate in his eyes as he viewed the outcome of the call, his eyes going back and forth to his mother, Izuku, and finally the phone. 'Not only have you hurt the family by never being here but now you have hurt the family immensely by trying and failing to be here. With this, you have finally cemented my feelings of disappointment in you dad, you were never a father, and I think you've finally lost the only other person that could have thought that. Congratulations Hisashi, you've lost both of your sons.' And with that thought, Tadashi slowly moved himself and the unmoving Izuku to his mother, and with a small sob from their mother, they made a small group hug, with the silent Izuku in the middle as soft crying could be seen and heard from Tadashi and Inko.

Hisashi, on the other side of the call…

"T-That's impossible, that can't be!" Hisashi was almost breathless at his son's confession, the sound of Izuku crying being completely ignored as he sat there in shock.

"But how, how did he become quirkless!" Hisashi once again began to mutter to himself about Izuku's lack of quirk as he now completely ignored the phone and the person on it as he began to pace back and forth in his office.

"What went wrong?! Why is Izuku different?! What went wrong?!" At each question, Hisashi's voice got louder and louder, becoming an almost roar at the last question, fire slightly coming out of the sides of his mouth as he became more emotional.

After a few minutes of Hisashi's small but loud breakdown, a loud voice could be heard throughout the office. After a few seconds to calm down, Hisashi followed the voice to his hand and when he looked down at the slightly damaged phone he realized the voice was Inko shouting his name. At this realization, he quickly put the phone back to his face.

"Inko, I've got to go back to work, something very urgent has come up, I'll try and call soon and apologize to Izuku, bye!" and with a sudden click, Hisashi ended the call and started packing up his things to get back to work, sleep all but forgotten as he once again began to mutter. As he began to leave his small apartment, one word could be audible in his babbling before he shut his door to get back to the lab,

"H-20-B"

Well there it is, I told you I would get another chapter this month, and while it is cutting it short, I fucking did it!

I was probably being a bit on the nose in this chapter, but hopefully, it wasn't too in your face. I liked how it came out and it gave away enough for you guys to speculate!

If anyone thinks they know what I am trying to do, feel free to comment, message, or do whatever.

I don't have any ideas to run by you guys, but maybe the next chapter.

See you guy's next time!
