Chapter 8:
I managed to not only get the fossils cleaned, not only get 3 different parts of Compso to become an unstoppable force, not only ranked up to Rank 4, but I also managed to get Nevada to laugh her ass off when I told her about what happened while she was gone.
"HAH! I finally got past your poker face!" I smirked at her when she laughed. But after all that was done, my hunger was way too much to handle. I then went back to the hotel at 5 PM so I could get a good meal. I got myself a plate with three hot dogs, applesauce on the side, and some cheese and crackers. I then proceeded to eat my food until I was full, which took a good 20 minutes... and when the sun had finally gone down at 7, Duna then tapped on my window and I opened it up to greet her.
"Hey there, Dunie," I smiled, her tilting her head at that.
"Dunie?..." she asked.
"It's a nickname that I thought up, now that I'm gonna be in a romantic relationship with you," I smiled, Duna blushing as she then simply motioned me out of the room and down the ladder into the back of the building. "So what's the lesson gonna be about tonight?" I asked as Duna then smiled at me.
"Tonight is going to be a bit more dangerous, so I'm going to warp the both of us to an area with few humans," Duna said, her then using her warping device to have us travel to none other than Mount Lavaflow... but just outside of the base of the mountain. "I'm going to need to ask you to think about fury tonight. Think about the most anger-inducing experiences you've had and let it flow into your Zino form," Duna said, me sweating both at the hot temperatures as well as her telling me that.
"Weren't you the one who said not to get too angry? Or I'd go into a rampage?" I asked in concern.
"That's why I warped us further away... and why I have two Dinomatons on standby. If you get out of control, I'll order them to attack you... but just to make sure nothing bad happens with your critical hits, I want you to remove your glasses for this instance," she said, me nodding as I simply took them off of my face and put them in my backpack. "Now get furious. I want to see what happens when your inner fire boils at a thousand degrees," Duna said, me immediately thinking back to my world... the one thing that made me more mad than anything else.
I was going to my graduation practice with the other students, my senior year of high school. The school was very strict about dress code and they hated outbursts during practice of any kind. I was in line and marching with the other students to the podium, it being the third practice for the day. Then, when no teachers were looking, the meanest bitch in the world, Kathy Munster, bit down directly on my neck! I screamed out loud and started to cry hysterically, since the bite had made me start to bleed! But the teachers didn't care, mainly because Kathy was the principal's daughter. Because I screamed out loud at being bitten, I was forced to stay back another whole year! And only by my parents getting the media and police involved did they revoke their decision!
"RRRGHH... KATHY MUNSTER! YOU'RE DEAD MEAT!" I shouted furiously as I then felt myself transform into Zino, me seething in anger as I saw that everything looked blurry without my glasses. But I felt in control, yet powered-up. Almost as if I could crush anything if I wanted to!
"How do you feel, Zina?" Duna asked, me growling as I saw a nearby boulder and decided to demonstrate my power.
"I FEEL GGGRRREAAAAAGHHH!" I growled like a dumb muscle-man as I proceeded to slash at the boulder with immense power with my strikes! And when I was finished, the boulder was sliced into multiple fragments in clean, perfect slices. "GRRAAAGH! I HATE KATHY, BUT I LOVE THIS POWARRRGH!" I roared with a crazy laugh as Duna then sent out a Dinomaton and I smiled.
"Can you calm down, or do I need to have to calm you down myself?" Duna asked as I then breathed in and out and simply thought of good thoughts instead... doggies and kitties, adorable little snakes, Rosie being sweet and cute, Pauleen being sweet and cute... Duna being sweet, yet mysterious. I sighed after I was finished and suddenly felt very drained. I laid down on the ground and simply laughed half-heartedly.
"Take note... Dunie... rage mode... drains me..." I panted as Duna picked me up with a small smile.
"Interesting... normally a Dinaurian can't control themselves when in full rage mode unless they've had decades of practice, yet you were able to do so in one try... let's get you back to the hotel," Duna said as I wrapped my arms around her. Duna then warped us back to the hotel room and I simply looked at her with a smile.
"Um... can you... put my glasses... on the nightstand?..." I asked her, Duna going into my backpack and getting my glasses and putting them gently on the side of the bed on the dresser as I smiled. "And... can you sleep... with me?..." I asked, Duna smiling and blushing.
"Yes, I can," she said as she then laid me in the bed before then getting in on the other side. And afterwards, she pulled the covers over both of us and she actually spooned with me. I giggled and blushed before finally heading off into dream land.
Only when I went to sleep this time, I actually saw something... that shocked me. I saw... me, in my own world, but from the point of view of another person. It was when I was going to turn on the game... I saw a taser in the hand of the person and heard a voice.
"This is what you get for ruining my mom's reputation, bitch!" said the voice of none other than KATHY MUNSTER! She then did something that shocked me. She actually tasered the DS and I saw something shocking... from her point of view, I saw that... I wasn't the only one to be warped to the world of Fossil Fighters! I was shocked to see that Kathy had been warped to a place that I was very shocked at. She was warped directly to the hotel I was currently staying in! AND SHE WAS IN THE DORM RIGHT NEXT DOOR! And she actually looked extremely confused before then screaming at the top of her lungs when she saw her appearance.
I gasped awake from my dream after seeing that happen, me looking at Duna and seeing she was up, but only because of my gasp. I then simply got my clothes changed and got to the door in a snap.
"H-Hey! Where are you going?!" Duna asked as she was forced to turn into her human disguise as I went to the room next to mine and started to knock on the door repeatedly. I knew she was in there because the sign said 'do not disturb' and that there was a tenant in there!
"Ugh... would you keep it down out there? I'm trying to get my beauty sleep," the voice of my childhood bully said on the other side of the door. I then decided to get loud.
"YOU'D BETTER COME OUT OF THERE RIGHT NOW, KATHY MUNSTER! I'VE GOT A NEW SET OF CHOMPERS SO I CAN MAKE YOU HELD BACK A YEAR!" I shouted, me feeling myself begin to turn, but I calmed down after a few deep breaths. And when I said that, the door then opened and I was finally face-to...mask with Kathy. And it happened to be a mask of a regular fossil fighter chick, too.
"What the fuck do you want, bitch? And moreover, what are you doing in this hellhole with me?" Kathy asked me with her usual snobby attitude as I then seethed, but I had to stay calm.
"Don't try to pin this all on me, Kathy. You were the one who used the taser on the DS. That was what caused both of us to be sent to this place. But what I don't get is why you, miss prim-and-popular pretty-face is wearing a mask to hide her true looks," I said, Kathy growling at me... but it wasn't a human growl. It was a... Vivosaur growl?
"Come in. Alone. Then I'll show you what the hell happened to me," she said angrily, me looking at Duna and her nodding.
"I'll wait outside for you," she said as I then went inside of Kathy's room and she then locked the door and closed the balcony curtains. After that, she then took her mask off... and I was surprised big time at what was underneath. Her head and neck were in the shape of a Shanshan, but her blonde hair stayed the same.
"THIS! This is why I wear that mask! It happened the moment I arrived in this world! Why am I like this?! What did I ever do to deserve this?!" Kathy asked with anger as I then simply pointed both my thumbs at myself.
"Why not ask me, the one whose life you tried to ruin from 3rd grade all the way to graduation? Remember the bite you gave me during practice? How you were little miss perfect until my parents fought back against your cruelty?!" I asked, her frowning at that.
"Of course I do. It caused my mom to step down as principal and get the job of lunch lady instead. So I guess we can call this tomato, tomatahto," she said, me frowning at that.
"I guess so. You tried to ruin my life, karma hits you like a bitch. You try to taser me in my own house, you get warped to this world with a dinosaur face," I said, her frowning at me as she then growled again.
"And with it comes even shinier chompers that I could eat your head off with. Now why would you want to make me mad again, bitch?" Kathy asked angrily as I simply frowned at her.
"You wouldn't want to harm me. I've stopped a couple criminals and I'm famous for being able to turn into a Zino, which can stand up to 29 feet tall. I'd trounce you in a fight no problem if I got the chance. Then we'd see who the shortcake is," I growled, her frowning at me and simply throwing a newspaper at me. It showed a picture of me on it and how I'd defeated the BB Bandits both in the Digadigamid and the Rivet Ravine.
"I know you would. You've gotten tougher since I saw you four years ago, I won't deny that..." she said as she then showed me something else... she had a Fossil Fighters license as well, but hers was Rank 3, one level below mine.
"I'm competing as my own self to try and make a change, since I can't see my mom ever again. What rank are you?" she asked as she then put the mask on again.
"My rank? 4," I said, her frowning at that.
"I would've been rank 4 yesterday, but I chose to search for copies of fossil rocks I already owned so I could get enough donation points for every Compso part. I managed to get a Rank 9 Compso in exchange for missing my rank-up battle," she said, me smiling at that.
"Well, strategy is key, and getting a strong Compso is definitely a good strategy," I said as I then simply looked at my watch and saw that it was time for breakfast. "So... you wanna get some breakfast?" I asked, her shaking her head no.
"I eat alone. Obvious reasons," she said, me nodding at her decision as I then left her and looked at her one more time before closing the door.
"Would you like my friend here to talk to you for a bit? She's kind of an expert at this kind of thing," I said, Kathy looking at Duna before then looking at me.
"Fine, I'll allow it," she said, me looking at Duna and whispering the situation to her.
"She's half-dinosaur like I am... but she's vastly different," I said, Duna nodding.
"I think I know what it is, then," she said as she then went inside of Kathy's room and I proceeded to get some breakfast in my system. Some hotel scrambled eggs would be just the fuel I needed to go to the underwater world of Bottoms-up Bay.
