(Autobot Base)
"Hey, Blue. Can you pass me the beaker?"
"Sure, Leo."
Blue Jacket passed the beaker to Leo. Ever since the Battle in Space, the Decepticons haven't planned anything... yet. Now, the blue autobot was helping his human companion with his science project.
"Thanks." Leo said. "Now, to pour the water in with the magnesium sulfate." He poured the water inside the beaker, which already had the magnesium sulfate inside. He then grabbed a straw and stirred it for a few minutes.
"Still can't believe you're actually making these crystals you were telling me about." Blue Jacket said in amazement. "S.R. would shout in excitement if she saw this."
"Yeah". Leo said, "I just want to make sure that I don't fail this science project... Like last year."
"What happened last year?" Blue asked.
"Uh..." Leo was about to say, until an explosion happened. There was some smoke, so they had to fan it out with their hands so they wouldn't inhale it.
"Decepticons! We're under attack!" Ratchet said, as he and Optimus Prime went to where the explosion came from but saw no decepticons, only Raf and Bumblebee working on a miniature volcano.
"It's no attack, Ratchet," Raf said, coughing from the gas from his volcano. "It's my volcano." He added when suddenly it dissolved a little, "Or was."
The field medic then looked at Blue Jacket and Leo working with a growing crystals kit.
"Um, what's up, Ratchet?" Leo greeted him. "Just doing these growing Crystals." Blue Jacket only gulped as Ratchet turned around to see Miko and Bulkhead working on their project.
"Hold still, Bulkhead," Miko said, with bulkhead holding a display of the Planet's of Earth Solar System, sitting on the ground, "Jupiter needs its red spot." she places the tip of a paintbrush into a can filled with orange paint, she takes it out of the paint can and the paint from the brush quickly drops onto the floor, "Whoopsie!"
"What... in the Allspark... is going on in here?!" Ratchet asked.
"We're working on our projects, Ratchet." Leo answered.
"Our projects are due tomorrow." Jack said.
"Maybe it needs one of these doohickeys," Arcee said, as she picked up a motorcycle part.
"You're a motorcycle, Arcee," Jack said, "Shouldn't you know how to build a motorcycle engine?"
"You're a human, Jack. Can you build a small intestine?" She countered.
"Well, you can't work on these projects here," Ratchet said, "You're...making a mess."
"But the science fair's a big part of our grade," Raf said.
"Very big part of our grade." Leo added.
"Yeah," Miko agreed, "If Bulkhead doesn't help me finish this model of our solar system…"
"Oh?" Ratchet said, interrupting the Japanese exchange student, "And what does Bulkhead know of your solar system, or Bumblebee of your volcanoes, or Blue Jacket of your growing crystals, or…"
"Arcee of our motorcycles?" Jack asked the medic, while Arcee looked at the teenager.
"Precisely!" He replied "We're not earthlings. And they're not scientists."
"But the autobots are their guardians, Ratchet," Optimus said, "would it hurt to learn more of Earth by helping our young friends with their schoolwork?"
"Well, maybe our young friends should try learning more about Cybertron." The medic said, before walking away.
"What's his problem?" Leo asked.
"Let's just say that he misses his home… Like we do." Blue said. "He's still trying to adjust it."
"But you guys stayed on Earth for three years."
"True… But Cybertron was our home… Until Megatron had to destroy it, thanks to his conquest of power." Blue said. "Autobot or decepticon, it was our home for each and every one of us."
"Wow… I-I'm sorry."
"Don't be," The bot said. "It's not your fault that our planet's not alive anymore. Besides, I'm just happy that we can stay on Earth. It's a second home to every member of Team Prime… Well, every member except for Ratchet."
Both laughed as they continued to work on the project.
"By the way, are you a warrior?" Leo asked.
"Technically, I am a warrior, but I was a scout when I joined the old team, The Delta Team." Blue said.
"Why be on the scout level, if you're a warrior?" Leo asked.
"Well, I chose to be a scout in the team."
"But, I saw you in action a few times. You got some skill and speed."
"Thanks. Even Optimus was surprised when I chose to be a scout on the Delta Team."
"Did Prime promote you?"
"Well, yes and no." Blue said. "He said he could, since he has the Matrix of Leadership, but because I'm already a warrior in Team Prime, but a scout in the Delta Team, he told me that Arcee can decide when to promote me or not."
While they continued to talk about Cybertron and work on the project, the computer started beeping, gaining everyone's attention.
"Exposed energon, and it's on the move," Ratchet said.
"And since we ain't moving it, guess who must be," Bulkhead said.
"Decepticons." Arcee said.
"Without Megatron?" Miko and Leo both asked.
"Unfortunately, Megatron's legacy will live on as others rise to take his place." Optimus said. "Autobots, you have projects to complete. Ratchet, I may require aid."
Ratchet looks at Raf's volcano, "Science fair is a big part of their grade. Perhaps I'm better suited to remain here and advise."
"Very well," Optimus said, and looked towards his scout, "Bumblebee, let us see about this energon in transit.
Bumblebee nodded and looked at his brother. "Want to come, Blue Jacket?" Bee asked/buzzed.
"Sure, bro." Blue Jacket said, before looking at Leo. "Good luck without me."
"Um, okay?" Leo said, looking confused. He then saw Ratchet turning on the Ground-Bridge.
"Blue Jacket, Bumblebee, roll out." Optimus said, as he and the two twins walked through the portal, disappearing in the process.
"Now, let's see your project, Raf." The medic said, walking towards the pre-teen's project.
"Um, sure." Raf said.
While Ratchet was working on Raf's project, Leo saw this, along with Jack and Miko. He then had an idea.
"If Ratchet does the work for us, we might get a good grade on our projects." Leo suggested, whispering.
"The same way I was thinking, Leo." Miko whispered back with a smile on her face.
"Mom might get off my back once she finds out that I got an B or above on my project." Jack added.
(The Desert Canyon)
The Ground Bridge portal opened, with Bumblebee stepping out of it, followed by Blue Jacket and Optimus Prime.
"See any energon, Bee?" Blue asked.
Bumblebee buzzed in reply.
"No, it does not." Optimus said, before walking away, "Hold your positions and await my command."
"Yes sir, Prime." Blue said, then turned around to see his brother. "Where should we go?"
Bumblebee pointed at the rocks. "Let's hide behind these rocks." Bee beeped.
"Okay, Bee." Blue said, following his brother and hiding behind the rocks with him. He looked closely where Optimus was walking at. "Wait! That's Starscream and Soundwave!" Blue exclaimed. Bee saw this as well. "But, who's the green seeker?" Blue asked.
"I don't know." Bee beeped.
"It has been awhile, Skyquake." The twins heard Optimus say as he walked towards the decepticons.
"Skyquake?" Blue asked. He looked at his brother, who also had a questioned look on his face.
The Decepticon, known as Skyquake, pushes Starscream aside and looks at Prime. "Optimus Prime. I haven't seen you since the Battle of Technar. Megatron ordered me to annihilate you."
"That was a long time ago," Optimus said, approaching the recently awakened Decepticon.
"That may be, Prime, but my orders still stand," Skyquake said, unknowingly that Blue Jacket and Bumblebee were listening to their conversation.
"Is this ancient war still worth fighting, when so many comrades have been lost and worlds destroyed?" Optimus asked. He then turned to Starscream, "If you want to be a true leader, Starscream, then stray from Megatron's path and lead the Decepticons toward peace."
"I would be willing to consider a truce…" Starscream said, "If you would be willing to bow before me, Optimus Prime."
"Again?!" Skyquake angrily asked, "Bow to this!" He then attacked the decepticon leader with his shoulder, causing him to be thrown towards a rock wall. Starscream transformed as soon as he got up and flew away.
"Skyquake, this is a new era in another world," Optimus said, "Side with the Autobots, and help me end this conflict forever."
"I will never side with a Prime!" Was Skyquake's answer before charging right at him, slamming him at a wall and then grabbing and throwing him.
"Optimus!" Bee shouted. Before he could go out there, Blue grabbed him.
"Optimus said to wait for his next orders, Bee." Blue reminded him.
"But he needs our help." Bee argued.
They watched as Optimus activated his blaster and shot Skyquake at his chest. However, Skyquake dodged as Optimus fired his blaster again and took out his own blaster, a machine gun, he fired the gun at Optimus's chest causing him to skid backwards.
Blue Jacket saw this. "Alright, scrap his orders!" Blue said. "Come on, Bee!" Blue got out behind his hiding spot, along with his brother. They started running toward different directions.
"Blue Jacket, Bumblebee, no!" Optimus said, trying to warn them.
The two autobots jumped, activated their blasters and shot at Skyquake in the back. Skyquake felt this, he turned around, shooting his gun at bumblebee, who was jumping from rock wall to rock wall and tried to attack him with his fists and Skyquake threw him towards a wall, while Blue Jacket hid behind a rock, Stealthily. Meanwhile, Optimus approached Skyquake and moved his gun towards the sky, Bumblebee got up and tried to tackle him, only for Skyquake to throw him across the ground.
Blue Jacket drove towards the seeker warrior and kicked his face twice. "How about you pick on someone your own size?" Blue said, about to punch his face. However, Skyquake grabbed his fist before he could.
"I was… Before you interfere." The decepticon sneered. He then threw him towards the wall as well.
Blue Jacket got back up and regrouped with Prime and Bee. "Any ideas?" he asked.
"He's not transforming." Bee said.
"Skyquake has not yet acquired a vehicle mode," he explained.
Skyquake rushes towards them, holding his gun.
"Fall back!" Optimus ordered and the three autobots transformed into their alternate modes, reversed and made a U-turn before accelerating away, causing dust to fly into the air.
"So time has made you a coward, Prime?!" Skyquake said and began shooting.
(Autobot Base)
Ratchet was 'helping' Raf with his volcano by turning it metallic volcano, and welding the metal with one of his tools that he has equipped inside his arms, "Let's see. "Where is it?" He asked trying to find one of his other tools
"Um… what is it?" Raf asked Ratchet.
"You'll find out," Ratchet told him before continuing to weld the metal together.
"But, Ratchet, shouldn't I be doing the work?" Raf asked him walking toward the volcano and touched it.
"Eh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't touch!" Ratchet said as he saw Raf touch the volcano, "Just watch and learn." He then continued to weld the metal to gather.
"So, we're just gonna go help Jack and Miko finish their…" Bulkhead starts as he was getting bored of watching Ratchet do all the work..
"Without my supervision?!" Ratchet asked Bulkhead, "You want them to be right, don't you?" Bulkhead and Arcee then looked at each other for a second before turning back to Ratchet, "Then watch... a master... at work!" He then went back to welding the metal together.
Jack, Leo, and Miko watched this play out from above "Control freak!" Miko noted before looking at Jack and Leo.
"This might have been a bad idea." Leo said, now realizing that the medic might cause more harm than good.
(Two Hours Later)
The field medic finished with Jack's, Miko's, and Raf's projects. This gave them a shock, especially Leo, who was now worried about his project. Ratchet was working on it in another area of the base, and he saw him do it. How he used the Energon, energon coloring, and the magnesium sulfate, mixed them together, and used a fast-programmer machine to speed up the process.
"Um, R-Ratchet?" Leo stuttered. "Are you sure this is going to bring up my grade?"
"Oh, it'll do MORE than just 'bring up your grade'." The field medic claimed, smiling of his work.
The 15 year old gulped a bit. "O-okay." He stuttered, walking back to his friends. "I don't think any of us are going to pass," he admitted, seeing them nod their heads at him. He then looked at the two-wheeler. "Hey, 'Cee, can I ask you something?" Leo asks.
"Sure, Leo." Arcee said. "What is it?"
They walked to another part of the base.
"It's about Bumblebee's brother. Was he blue all the time?" he asks in the nicest way possible.
The two-wheeler smiled, remembering Blue Jacket back then. "Well, he wasn't yellow, but he wasn't blue either," Arcee explained. "Back on Cybertron, his body armor used to be orange, until something happened to him on one of our missions. On one mission, The Delta Team went to one of the Decepticons' new factories. We discovered that they were trying to create some new type of energon. Whatever kind of energon they were trying to create, we had to shut it down. However, the decepticons pinned us down and separated us. Luckily, he got out of their grasp and tried to rescue us, until he got shot and fell into the energon chemical container."
"Wow…. Did he die?" Leo asked.
"That's the silly part." Arcee remarked. "When we were about to be done for, he came out of the blue chemical energon and shot the decepticons, freed us and then we destroyed their facility. After that, we saw him in his new paint job. We have called him 'Blue Jacket' since then."
"Whoa, cool." the fifteen year old exclaimed, hearing the whole backstory. "What was his old name when his body armor was orange?" he asked.
The two-wheeler giggled before answering his question. "The bots used to call him 'Orangebug'. He definitely didn't like that name when he was an orange bot back on Cybertron."
Leo giggled a bit. "Wow... just wow." Leo said.
After talking to the two-wheeler, he saw Jack, Miko, and Raf carrying their projects inside Bulkhead's vehicle mode. 'Well, better get my project from Ratchet.' he said to himself.
Once Leo got his project, Ratchet said to him to don't reveal it, until it's his turn in the human school classroom tomorrow.
(The Desert Canyon)
The autobots split up when Skyquake started chasing them when they felled back. The decepticon was now chasing Bumblebee and Blue Jacket.
"Take a left turn." Bee buzzed.
"Got it." Blue said, turning and following his brother, with Skyquake catching up to them.
"Take a hard right."
The two scouts kept doing twists and turns, but the decepticon still kept on chasing after them.
"We're not losing him." Blue reminded his brother
"I'm not trying to." Bee stated. "Left again."
They took the last left... Which led to an dead end. When they transformed and turned around, they see Skyquake walking towards them.
"It will be a shame to crush you two bugs, but it is my duty," Skyquake said.
Suddenly, Optimus showed up in his vehicle mode, transformed, and punched the decepticon's face, sending him into a wall. He then looks at his two scouts.
"Excellent strategy, Bumblebee," Optimus told Bumblebee before turning to Blue Jacket. "Good job following his lead, Blue Jacket."
The scouts nodded at their leader before the three autobots surrounded Skyquake, who got up and tried to punch Prime. Luckily, Prime dodged the attack and looked directly at the decepticon.
"Skyquake, stay down," Optimus said before punching him, causing some Damage to his face, as he fell to the ground, Optimus, Bumblebee and Blue Jacket surrounded him as Fowler flew above them and they noticed him.
"Is that Leo's dad?" Blue Jacket asked, noticing Fowler's jet.
"Fowler?" Optimus said as Skyquake leaned up and started to scan Fowler's VTOL jet. "Agent Fowler, Fall back!" Optimus said as he touched his comlink.
However, it was already too late as the decepticon successfully scanned the whole jet. He then stood up, pushed the 'bots out of the way, jumped into the air and transformed into one! The agent was surprised when the decepticon flew next to him. Skyquake then flew right back into the canyon and started shooting at the Autobots. The autobots ran from the bullets from the machine gun and transformed into their alternate modes, Skyquake soon opened up a hatched where two missiles were as he tracked Bumblebee and Blue Jacket.
However, Fowler attacked him, giving the autobots some time to get away and think of a plan to stop Skyquake.
"I got an idea, guys." Bee buzzed.
"What's the plan?" the blue bot asked.
Before the yellow scout could explain, Skyquake came back and started shooting at them again. Optimus then transformed after he got hit and saw the two scouts going towards a ramp that still lead to the canyon.
Bumblebee and Blue Jacket evaded Skyquake's bullets as he accelerated toward a natural formed ramp and transformed as they reached the top of a cliff, saw Skyquake approach the other side of the cliff. They then ran toward the other side of the cliff, jumped down and jumped onto Skyquake's wings, Bumblebee on the left and Blue Jacket on the right. The decepticon tries to knock the scouts off of him by rubbing them against a rock wall on each sides, but this was unsuccessful as Bumblebee and Blue Jacket stayed on top of him and flew upwards.
"Whoa!" Blue Jacket exclaimed, holding on with his brother for his life. He then contacts Optimus. "Optimus, we need backup!"
"Don't worry, Blue Jacket." Optimus said, contacting him through the com-link, "Agent Fowler is on his way now."
The green decepticon then tried to get the scouts off of him once more, but they still kept on. The duo fully got on top top of Skyquake and they began punching him.
"Skyquake, this hurts us, more than it hurts you!" The blue bot said sadly as he and his brother punched through him and ripped the wires out of him as well. However, due to this, Skyquake began to fall down, with the two bots with him. Luckily, Fowler was right next to them in his jet.
"Thanks, Fowler!" Blue shouted.
Bee buzzed a "Thank You" as well.
"Any time, fellas." Fowler said as he looked what was coming to them next, "Ground floor's coming fast."
Soon, Bumblebee and Blue Jacket jumped off from Skyquake to Fowler's jet. Next, they watched as the green decepticon fell to his doom, crashing back into the canyon... destroyed.
"Happy landings, 'Con." Fowler smirked before looking at the blue scout. "How's Leo doing with his project, Blue?"
"Um... It'll blow your mind off, Fowler. See you later."
The scouts jumped off of Fowler's jet, landed on the cliff, and headed their way to Optimus. The Prime walked towards the deceased decepticon, who had little life left before closing his optics. He was now with the AllSpark.
"W-we're sorry, Optimus... We had no choice." the blue scout sadly explained to Prime as he and his brother walked up to him.
"I understand, Blue Jacket." Optimus stated before putting his battle mask off. "Had Skyquake chosen to stray from his master's path, we might not be burying him today."
The three bots started burying Skyquake with some rocks, while they were being unknowingly watched by Soundwave, who was on another cliff.
(The Next Day)
In the Autobot Base, Blue Jacket got out of the machine after Ratchet finished doing repairs on him. He then walked to Prime. "Thanks, Optimus and Ratchet." the scout said to them as they nodded to him. Bumblebee then walked inside the machine to get repaired.
"Blue Jacket" Optimus said, "You did well fighting against Skyquake and following Bumblebee's lead."
"Aww, just doing my best for the autobot cause." Blue said, "Sorry that Bee and I had to offline him, though."
"It's okay, Blue Jacket." Optimus said, forgiving him and knowing that they had no choice on that day. "We may be at war, but I don't condone of ending our enemies... Unless if we have no choice. I'm just glad that you weren't filled with anger and revenge."
Blue Jacket smiled, happy that Optimus understood what happen. He and Optimus then watched bumblebee's repairs getting fixed up by Ratchet.
"Bumblebee, putting yourself and your brother at risk was perhaps not the wisest of strategies, but both of you performed admirably," Optimus said.
"Thanks you, Optimus." Bee beeped in reply once he got out of the machine. Just then, they heard noises from the hallway that led to their base, and saw Bulkhead and Arcee, along with the four human children. The filed medic was really happy to see them.
"Aha-Ha-Ha! There you are," Ratchet said walking away from the repair bay towards the children as Raf, Leo, and Miko exited Bulkhead and Jack hopped off Arcee before the two autobots transformed and stood behind them. "Well? How were my, Uh, our projects received?"
"Well..." Raf started.
"We failed." Jacked stated.
"Big time." Miko added.
"Yep." Leo agreed.
"Well on our planet, you would have been awarded the highest honors," Ratchet stated.
"Really, dude?!" Leo asked. "Our projects was worse than Vince... And he didn't even do the project!" he stated.
"At least you got a D- on your project, Leo." Miko said. "The rest of us got F's." She then shows Optimus, Blue Jacket, Bumblebee, and Ratchet a picture of Leo's project: Three fully grown, but huge Energon-Crystals with each different color. The left crystal was pink., the middle one was yellow, and the right one was orange.
"Wow..." Blue Jacket was amazed. "One question, why did you get a D-?"
"Well, the teacher wanted it to be a normal size for people to hold with their hands. Also, when I said 'energon' as the name of these crystals, he laughed. Some of the kids laughed too, even Vince and Melissa." Leo answered.
The medic then walked away, still mad about how this turned out. Bee then beeped a few reply's.
"Indeed, Bumblebee. Our humans would have been wise to stray from Ratchet's path."
"I agree," Blue Jacket stated.
While the kids were talking to the 'bots, Ratchet was still being himself. However, he looked at a small teal energon cube, given by one of his best students. He smiled a bit, remembering her go-going and happy personality back when he was a science teacher before the war broke out. He knew that every bot in Team Prime missed Cybertron... But, like the rest, he had to adapt, before he turns to rust. He only hoped that once Cybertron somehow gets revived, he'll see his student again.
And that was chapter 8! Looks like Bee and B.J. did a Bro-Combo on Skyquake! (I do feel bad for him, though). Arcee also tells Leo about what happen to Blue Jacket back on Cybertron on one of the Delta Team's missions. Hope you guys like Leo's project that the field medic did. He also misses someone. The credit goes to Nitro zeus. For the initial nickname, S.R., that belongs to Autobot092924. Before you guys get mad, I did not take any credit from her. She gave me permission to only mention S.R. (indirectly) one time.
I want to thank everyone for reading this chapter. I also want to give a big thanks to Autobot02924 and Nitro zeus. Go check them out. They have the best stories that you guys won't regret reading!
Next chapter, Blue Jacket will go to the Arctic with Optimus and Arcee, while Leo will stay at base to help his friend face-off some scraplets! See you on the next chapter!
Read, Review, and God Bless you all!
