Inhibition

One thing you could say with certainty is that she lacked inhibition.

Was it nature or nurture, Hogan wondered in the all too brief moments of calm and reflection he had when she was around. What was she like before the world fell apart?

Life could not have been easy for her before Hitler, before the pact, after the revolution. Was she always scheming; finding ways to get the better of her compatriots, her adversaries?

Or was she like most caught up in this maelstrom? Living for the moment. Actions based on pure survival, on ridding the world of evil.
