Chapter 8

Weeks went by and so did work. Fall was in the air and it was getting cooler, but not cold yet. SVU was swamped with case after case. Amanda bounced back and forth between partners and she was learning a lot. She had been paired with Olivia and Fin at the same time, She spent a couple of days with Munch. Her and Nick were still learning ropes. Even Captain Cragen went undercover to help with a case. She had been punished but mostly for her temper and mouth. Olivia only dealt with her when they got home and she hadn't been spanked yet.

Amanda and Fin were in the park, undercover. They were trying to catch a perp who was touching women, when they came across some young kid on drugs having a bad trip. "Fin, why are we at the psych hospital. He's not crazy, he's on drugs." Fin looked at her, "Oh really! You're 22 how would you know the difference?" Amanda frowned, "I've seen a lot, believe me I know." Fin put his arm around her, "Hey Amanda, we all come from something." Supposedly when they left him at the hospital, he claimed to witness a rape.

So when Fin and Amanda reported to court as the arresting officers and told the judge that they hadn't heard anything, the judge looked at Amanda, "Were you there?" Amanda responded with a snotty attitude, "No." She smirked at her, "Then don't speculate..." the judge said, glancing at the paper, officer. You're not even a detective, so be quiet and let your partner answer." Amanda rolled her eyes, but this was a judge and she wasn't going to get away with that. The young kid was turned over to them.

The squad discussed that they had no choice but to look into it. Amanda said, "I think he's lying, he just doesn't want to get it in trouble." She was already pissed with the judge and Olivia spoke up, "Why would he lie? This is a first offense. He's looking at a slap on the wrist. She's right. Fin and Amanda, it's all yours." Amanda rolled her eyes for the second time today. Olivia saw it, but she would deal with it later. Fin, Amanda, Nick, and Munch all went out on the call.

Cragen called Olivia in his office. "Yeah Cap?" He had a smug look on his face, "You better get your girl under control." Olivia didn't understand, "Amanda was a smart mouth and rolled her eyes at the judge. She's good Liv and smart, but she's got to learn to take feedback. She can be so much better. I'm looking to promote her already, but I need her to hold it together. She pulls that again, you will be pulling her out of jail for contempt."

When everyone got back, they did have a case and it was up to them to solve it. Cragen and Olivia listened, "Liv and Amanda I want you two to take the lead. Fin and Nick they will give you directions. Munch you'll be with me." Olivia told Amanda to grab the files, they had work to do this weekend. "Liv it's the weekend and we're off. I want to have fun." Olivia looked around, "Well, we have serious things to talk about and your fun will be limited anyway." Amanda knew what meant, she tried to think about what she did.

Amanda was stacking all the files together. Olivia could see her attitude every time she made the stack bigger. Then they both heard a familiar voice, "Liv!" They both turned to see Brian Cassidy standing there. Olivia heard Amanda, "Oh great! Now this asshole is here." Brian was talking to Liv. He had a case that SVU transferred. After he was done, he turned to Amanda. "I'm sorry for what I said. I was wrong." Amanda rolled her eyes, "Whatever."

Olivia was just making general conversation all the way home. When they walked in, Amanda listened. She had been in trouble before so she knew the deal. "I'm going to make dinner. I want you to take a shower and go directly to that corner and think about everything you did today." Amanda did what she was told. When Olivia's tone changed she knew she was serious. When she was done, she stopped to ask Olivia, "What did I do wrong." Olivia turned around, "That's what the corner is for, I want you to figure it out. Oh and by the way. It's bad. I'm tired of these little punishments, it's time to talk spankings now." Amanda's eyes got big, "Yes ma'am."

Amanda was in the corner and started thinking. She smelled dinner, "Yuck salmon, something else to get me in trouble." Amanda shook head, "Think Amanda. Go through your day. Had a good morning. I ate my breakfast. Went to court with Fin. The kid said he saw a rape. That bitch of judge. Oh my gosh!" Olivia was watching her and listening, she always talked her way through something out loud in the corner. Olivia thought it was the cutest thing. "Oh you figured out part of it, come and eat."

Amanda sat down and kept thinking. When she looked up, Olivia was looking at her, "Do you know yet?" Amanda hung her head, "I was rude to the judge, but Liv she was rude to me first." Olivia shook her head, "I don't care what she was, she is someone in authority. Who called the Captain. She could have thrown your butt in jail. And Amanda Rollins, the day I have to pick you up like that, you won't be sitting comfortably for a while. Eat now!"

Amanda ate, she didn't even care that she didn't like salmon. "Oh but what about me? Was I rude to you or you just didn't like hearing the truth? You rolled your eyes at me too." When Olivia said it, Amanda remembered it. "I'm sorry." Olivia kept going, "Then we have Brian. I know he said a shitty thing, but he tried to apologize." When they finished she told Amanda to clean the kitchen and meet her in the bedroom. Amanda walked slowly, she was just like a kid. "Yes Liv?" Olivia called her over, "Sit down. I want to talk to you." Amanda sat down beside her, "You want to tell me what this is about?" Amanda knew, but said, "No." Olivia narrowed her eyes, "So you know, you just don't want to say." Amanda just shrugged.

Olivia tried to reason with her, "I tell you what, if you tell me, I won't spank you." Amanda was being stubborn, "I'm not telling you anything!" Olivia shrugged, "Fine! Have it your way." Olivia quickly pulled Amanda over her lap, pulled down her pajama bottoms, and panties. Amanda couldn't believe what was happening. She didn't fight her like Olivia expected her to. Olivia brought her hand down swift and hard 5 times. "That was for being disrespectful to the judge and it will not happen again." Silent tears fell down her face and even though she didn't make a sound Olivia felt them on her leg. She hit her 5 more times, this time she could hear the whimpering. "I'm sorry Liv. Please I won't do it again."

Olivia pulled up her clothes and covered her red behind. Then stood her up and Amanda cried. I mean the flood gates opened wide. Olivia stood up, seeing that tough exterior peeling away. "I'm sorry! Do you still want me here?" Olivia listened to her stretch it out sniffling and heaving. Olivia thought she was going to make herself sick. "Come on and lay with me." Olivia held Amanda and explained why she shouldn't act like that. "Baby, I wish you would talk to me and tell why. And of course I still want you here." Amanda continued sniffling, "Are you mad at me?" Olivia, rub her back, "No, the punishment is over, shhhhh." Olivia knew she needed big time reassurance and placed a soft kiss on her lips. Amanda fell asleep in her arms. Olivia moved her over and covered her up. She looked relaxed, but Olivia wondered why she wasn't always relaxed.

Olivia's phone rang, "Hey Fin! What's up?" Fin was her friend, but he was Amanda's too. "Liv, I talked to the Captain this afternoon about that judge. He told me she called about Amanda's inappropriate behavior." Olivia listened and she remembered Amanda saying she was rude to her. "Liv, I know Amanda has to learn to control her emotions, but she's young and rolling her eyes at the judge was out of line." Fin told Liv that the judge did provoke and embarrass her. Olivia didn't like that, "She said that to her?" Olivia didn't like it at all. "Yeah, I also think the kid's drug use got in her head before it all got started." Olivia knew then, because Amanda had told her the stuff she went through growing up. "Thanks Fin, I've got it from here." She looked at a sleeping Amanda and held her all night.
