AN: This is me filling in for our keeper. The pairing is Rose/Lily Luna in a platonic setting

"How exactly do you do that?" Rose asked as she stared at her cousin Lily.

"Do what?" Lily asked, not opening her eyes or moving an inch.

"Do that!" Rose said gesturing at Lily who was sitting on the ground with her legs held in the air to fold behind her back. Lily just looked at Rose and smirked.

"Practice," she said, before flexing her legs. "Years and years of practice." She unfolded herself. "But I think that isn't the issue that you want to talk about really, is it?"

"Well, no," Rose admitted as she sat down beside Lily. "It's...complicated."

"You want to figure out how you're going to tell Scorpius that you're head over heels in love with him," Lily said and Rose turned red.

"You know?" she squeaked and Lily rolled her eyes.

"Of course I do. EVERYONE knows. Even Albus knows and he's the most oblivious person that I know. The only person who doesn't is Scorpius."

Rose turned even redder and Lily laughed.

"It's just...well he's my best friend and we've known one another for so long and I don't want to make things weird and-"

"Rose, it's actually painful watching you two dance around one another," Lily said, rolling her eyes. "He likes you, but he's afraid of saying so. And you like him. It's not that hard."

"I'm sure that it's easy for you!" Rose retorted with a hint of annoyance. "You haven't been friends with Nott since first year! And she isn't your best friend!"

Lily rolled her eyes.

"That should make it easier for you, not harder," she said with a hint of exasperation. "The family has had time to get used to Scorpius. They know him and they like him. They thought Hera was taking advantage of me, that as a Slytherin she couldn't be trusted." She rolled her eyes again. "Even though Albus is a snake, they worry about her."

"It's not like you haven't had bad experiences in the past with Slytherins," Rose pointed out and Lily winced.

"I know," Lily said, before changing her leg positions into yet another awkward pose. Rose just stared.

"Just how are you able to do that?" she asked again and Lily rolled her eyes.

"You're getting distracted," Lily said in a slightly exasperated tone. "Scorpius is the one that you're here to talk about." She winked at Rose. "I know that Hera likes how flexible I am."

"Ewww...I really don't want to know."

"She especially loves how I can put my tongue in-"

"I JUST WANT TO KNOW HOW YOU WERE ABLE TO TELL HERA THAT YOU LIKED HER LIKE THAT!" Rose practically shouted and Lily laughed. Rose blushed and continued. "I just..."

Lily sighed.

"Just because I've had a few boyfriends and girlfriends, doesn't mean that I'm some kind of expert," Lily said, rolling her eyes. "I ended up in a relationship with-" She winced. "Well you know."

"Lily, you're the most experienced person I know," Rose practically whined. "You talk to the people you like. You've told them that you like them a lot more than me!"

"That's because you've always been in love with Scorpius," Lily said dryly. Rose turned red and spluttered. Lily smirked.

"I have not!" she protested and Lily just looked at her. " I haven't!"

"Do I really have to remind you about Megan Abbot?" Lily asked and Rose turned even redder.

"That's because they were terrible for one another!" Rose protested. Lily rolled her eyes and snorted in disbelief.

"Then there was your friend Sarah Spencer," Lily said, almost nonchalantly.

"That's because I knew that they weren't compatible!"

"You didn't even like that muggle girl he had a summer romance with."

"It's a terrible idea for two people to have a summer fling!" Rose said. "They're just setting themselves up for a broken heart!"

"They were terrible for your jealousy," Lily said, rolling her eyes. She shook her head and looked Rose in the eye. "Look Rose, just tell him. Ask him out to Hogsmeade or something."

"I can't do that!" Rose practically screeched, drawing looks from several of their cousins busy playing exploding Snap. Lily rolled her eyes and tied herself into a knot.

"I don't see why not," she said in a matter of fact tone. "It's a simple question. And it's not like Scorpius is going to say no."

"Li-lyyyyyyyy..."

"That's how Hera asked me out," Lily said nonchalantly and Rose sighed.

"I can't do that! she protested. "I'm not like you and Hera!"

"If you were, it wouldn't be so painful to watch," Lily said with a snicker. Rose glared at her cousin.

"It's not a joke!" she huffed and Lily rolled her eyes.

"I wish it was. We would actually be sure that we'd actually get a punchline eventually."

Rose glared at her cousin and Lily rolled her eyes once more. She was doing a lot of that lately. Was it entirely healthy to do so? It didn't matter. Nor did she care really. Everyone in the Weasley/Potter clan, heck, everyone at Hogwarts was aware of the little dance between Rose and Scorpius. It was almost embarassing really. (Albus had talked about locking the two of them together in a broom cupboard until they admitted their feelings. Lily had nixed the idea by pointing out that Rose and Scorpius were more than capable of getting out on their own and they did not want to deal with an angry Rose. And even if it had somehow managed to work, the two dorks would almost certainly starve to death before it happened.)

"Well...we could manage to get the two of you locked into a broom cupboard-"

"Lily!" Rose protested, her face turning red. "I can't do that!"

"No, that's true," Lily said with a thoughtful look on her face. "The two of you would probably starve to death before anything actually happened."

"I'm not that bad!" Rose protested and Lily just gave her a look.

"Do I really need to answer that?" she asked and Rose glared even harder.

"Look, I just need to figure out a way to tell him," Rose said in a slightly exasperated tone. "Albus has already said that he has no interest in lost causes-"

"Smart Albus"

"And I don't even know how to talk about this with mum and dad," She continued. Lily chuckled at the look on Uncle Ron's face if she had. Apparently he was not exactly a textbook example by his own admission. Nor was Aunt Hermione. Not to mention the awkwardness that would inevitably rise from that particular conversation.

There were some things that were best left alone.

"Look, Rose," Lily paused and took a deep breath. "Scorpius loves you. Everyone except you can see that. You love Scorpius. Everyone except Scorpius can see that. Just walk up to him and tell him. Or write him a letter. Or use the telephone. Or write it across the sky with your broom. Or...well anything really."

"Well...um..."

"Or you can walk up to him and tell him that you want to snog him senseless. That works."

Rose let out a squeal, before promptly running away. Lily laughed. Maybe Albus's idea of locking them both in a broom cupboard might be worth considering after all...
