Chapter 8

It was barely half past two when the Impala purred down the streets causing a few car enthusiasts to look up and enjoy the sleek body of black metal stopping into parking stall. Dean nodded his head in pride as Sam and Christina got out and followed their brother inside the hotel's lobby. Dean glanced at the front desk and looked disappointed when the girl from earlier wasn't there.

"I think you scared her off, bro." Christina said spotting the face as she now was leading her brothers back to their room.

"So what did Mama Oakley spoke to you about?" Sam asked as Christina walked into their kitchenette.

"She told me to be at the mausoleum by eleven thirty tonight," Christina said opening thr fridge and smiled at the bottom shelf filled with water bottles. "She also told me what I need to grab and to put it in this special cloth, be back before two tomorrow morning and that I should go out with Christopher. Water?" She offered to her brothers which both of them took.

"She really said you should go out with Christopher?" Dean asked his eyes narrowing in hunting mode as if Christina just said she was going out with a monster.

"Yeah." Christina said with a blush and smile. "I mean I trust this boy...I mean man now, I guess." she giggled and began to twirl some hair with her finger.

Sam began to laugh making Christina stop to look at him confused. "You look like when you went out with Zach in college. You had the same look on your face and you did the same thing."

Christina frowned. "Don't make fun of me, Sam. It's been a while since I've been on a date. I think I deserve it." She shrugged and sat down on the corner of Sam's bed and let out a dreamy sigh. "Besides it's been five years since I've seen Christopher and he did grow up a bit. Plus I'm old enough to go on dates, right?"

"That would be true if we weren't looking at a case," Dean said taking off his jacket and tossing his boots off. "Plus that was probably true if you didn't have two older brothers."

Christina rolled her eyes and walked into her room slamming the door closed behind her.

"I think you pissed her off." Sam said, muffled through the door.

Christina quickly walked into her bathroom in her room and locked the door behind her. She was already hating the fact, Dean was making her feel like she needed his approval to do anything. Her thoughts did go on about possibly asking her father for permission but something stopped her. She didn't want to go against Dean but they had nine hours to kill before they had to be at the cemetery. She pulled out her phone and looked for John's contact info. She felt strange texting him but she didn't want her brothers to hear her.

"Hey," her text started. "Been called on a case in Louisiana and I ran into an old acquaintance of mine. He was wondering if I can go out with him but Dean said no. I just want to know what you think I should do. Text back please?"

She closed her phone and set it on the counter before she decided to wash her face. Suddenly her body jolted to the left causing her phone to fly off the counter and skitter across the bathroom floor. She forced herself to fall onto the floor and quickly pushed herself into a sitting position. For a few minutes her body trembled with fear as another jolt of her body acting sporadically caused her to grip the counter and let out a low growling groan. The jolt vanished just as quickly as it appeared and her mind forced to focus on her phone which began to let out a jingle from an incoming text message. Her hand shakily reached out and grabbed her phone and flipped it open to see it was from her father.

"Hey, Christina," John's text reply said making the jolts, now just a small pinch, vanish from her thoughts almost completely. "This is kind of like a crossroad kind of decision. But I wasn't there in your life to warrant me to make a choice. But if you feel you want to go, I say go ahead. Just be willing to take the consequence that follow."

Christina stared at the text message then leaned back against the counter. She could hear someone knocking on her bedroom door and decided to slowly stand up and answer it, leaving her cellphone on the marbled counter top.

"Hey Christy," Dean said once she opened her door and looked at him through narrow annoyed eyes. "Sam...He said to let you go on this date. As much as I hate that you're going to be out there and we kind of have a deadline on things I don't want you to think I don't care about your feelings."

"So I can go on a date with Christopher and you can't stop me?"

Dean frowned and nodded. "Just make sure you're home before ten. We'll need your help finding that mausoleum."

Christina laughed and nodded. "I'll make sure I'll be back before ten." She smiled and closed her bedroom door. Picking up her cellphone she dialed Christopher's number.

"Thank you for calling, how can I help you?" Christophe perky voice made Christina smile.

"Need some Sage and Thistle please." Christina said smiling. "Plus I need a date tonight."

"Well I'll be a damned, Christina," Christopher said with a grin. "You really want to go on a date with me?"

"Yeah I do. Since the last time you asked me I was only fifteen."

Christopher laughed over the phone making it crackle slightly. "Oh I forgot that was a reason you said no. I always thought you were old enough."

Christina giggled and looked over her shoulder as she heard her door opening and seeing it close. "Look I got to go. Wanna meet at your store at about seven?"

"Yeah that works for me. See you then."

"Bye." Christina said before hanging up and getting off her bed and headed for her brother's attached room. "Enjoyed eavesdropping?" She asked seeing Dean trying to act like he had just got up from his bed.

"So when are you going on this date?" Sam asked rolling his eyes at Dean's attempt of being innocent.

"Seven." Christina answered already feeling the sporadic jolts start up in her stomach. She fought to show any discomfort but Dean and Sam noticed it almost immediately. "I should go and take a shower. Being in a car with no ac kind of leaves a woman stinky." She said turning to head to her room.

"Or you don't want to talk about you being in pain." Dean pressed making her stop and turn to face him. "What's going on?"

"It's nothing. Just little spasms. I'll be okay." She shrugged wanting to get her clothes off, get into a hot shower and ready for her chance to get away from her overbearing brother. "Besides are you guys supposed to collect those vials of blood?"

"We'll get them." Dean said giving her a harder stare. "What's going on?"

"Nothing?" Christina said defensively. "Body freaks out at weird times. I'm sure a quick shower would help. So don't worry."

Dean and Sam opened their mouths to say something but Christina had already left the room. "She's worse than you." Dean said to Sam before he left the room to grab something to drink from the vending machines he saw a few doors down.

Christina stared at herself in the bathroom mirror after she had taken her shower and changed into cleaner clothes. She didn't want to wear anything super fancy but had found a cute pale yellow shirt and pulled out her other pair of jeans that weren't coated in mystery stains. The pain she had felt earlier did go away as she showered. She brushed her hair and quickly pulled her hair into a French braid before putting on her clothes.

"Hey Christy," Sam called knocking on her door. "You decent? May I come in?"

"Yeah you can. Just putting on my socks and shoes." Christina said feeling nervous about the talk she was going to have with her brother and her date.

Sam walked in and took a seat next to her on the bed. "You sure you want to go tonight?"

"Yeah, why wouldn't I want to?" Christina asked thinking Dean may have made Sam try and talk her out of it. "It's not like when Zach asked me and things went wrong. I'm not looking for a hook up. I thought going on a date would be a good idea. I mean you kept asking me if I was going to date after Zach."

"Yeah, but..." Sam looked a little sheepish. "I just don't feel quite comfortable with Christopher. He feels like he's hiding something."

Christina sighed and looked at Sam with a feeling he wasn't telling her the full truth. "Are you sure Dean didn't tell you to say this so that I wouldn't get mad at you giving the fact we have a more reasonable history?"

"He just worries. It's what he does." Sam said wrapping his arm around her shoulders. "How about if something happens just call me. That way you don't get him to say 'I told you so'."

"Sure." Christina said with a smile. "So if I don't call, tell Dean that." She stood up and grabbed her jacket fixing the dove pin on one of her lapels. "Do you think Dean would drop me off at the shop?"

"I don't mind that." Dean said walking into the room. "Come on. We first need some blood."

The hospital buzzed when Christina walked into the hospital dressed in scrubs she was asked to wear and walked to the nurses station looking she had always been employed there. All six suspects were being observed as they all complained about same pains that were nearly impossible to handle.

"One second miss," a security guard that was stationed outside one of the rooms stopped Christina as she was heading to the room. "May I see some ID?"

Christina lifted her ID and smiled just as the picture. The security only gave it a few seconds before allowing her to enter making her grin as the photo was from four years earlier from a different hospital which made her wonder if the Security guard was new. But it didn't matter as now Christina was in the room with, surprisingly all six of the suspects all unconscious.

She swallowed down her nerves as she walked up to the first suspect and pulled out one of the six needles for the sample of blood she needed. She gently rubbed the skin with an alcohol pad and got the band aid she was going to use ready to place over the wound. Her fingers danced trying to find a vein, something she had picked up by other mentors she had through the years, and carefully slid the tip of the needle in. She slowly pulled out a small amount of blood and carefully slid the needle out putting the band aid on the tiny hole and placed a cap over the needle.

She worked quickly and quietly until she had all six of the victim's blood and slowly left the room with the needles of blood in her pocket. "They're doing great." She said smiling at the guard who gave a small smile before going back to his post letting Christina walk away and out of sight.

She quickly walked out of the hospital wondering why she had to do this and not any of her two brothers. But it wasn't important as she was now outside and heading to the Impala which was parked just outside the exit.

"So you got the blood?" Dean asked as Christina climbed into the back and picked up the shirt she had on before.

"Yeah." She said gently pulling out the needles of blood. "So tell me again, how did you know they were all going to be at the hospital?"

"While I was out getting something to drink I overheard a few people talking. They thought it was disturbing to know the attackers were all in the same hospital."

"Not only that but also in the same room." Christina added sliding her shirt on just as she was taking off the scrubs. "So you still okay with me going on that date with Christopher?"

"Not like I can stop you." Dean grumbled. "Just be careful."

"Well, it's not like you have a choice either as I had texted Dad."

Dean pulled off to the side of the road and spun around. "You texted Dad?"

"Y-Yeah." Christina stammered not sure why her brother was angry at her. "He did say to take your consideration into notice but to also accept consequences that might happen."

"He...he texted you back?" Dean asked starting to fight with his anger.

"Yeah." Christina said. "Look I think I'm understanding that he texted me back and not you for however long you've tried. Maybe it's because I haven't known him long and he's wanting to make up for lost time. But the point is, I'm sorry I went behind your back. But you were being a little more over protective then I liked."

Dean opened his mouth to say something back but instead turned around and flew down the road before slamming his breaks outside the herb shop. "We'll see you later. Have a good date."

Christina wanted to say something but Dean wasn't looking at her. She felt jealousy almost pooling off of Dean's body but Sam looked and gave her a reassuring smile before she left. "I'll text you when I'm done." She said but Dean gave a grunt before pulling away still angry.

"I'm all out of Thistle and Sage." Came a voice behind her. "But I'm thinking sesame seeds and lettuce will do."

Christina smiled and turned to look at Christopher. "I think I'll add meat and tomatoes to it as well." She added making him laugh. "So I take it we're going for burgers?"

"Yep, and it's a place that serves them old school. Best damn burgers in all of Baton Rouge."

"Sounds good. But what about the shop?" Christina asked as they began to walk around the building towards a cherry red '65 mustang.

"Closed down for the night. Nobody showed up for an hour." Christopher smiled as he opened the passenger side door. "Plus, I thought it best to get to know the new you."

Christina blushed as Christopher climbed into the diver's seat. "Well, I'm looking forward into knowing the new you, as well."
