Chapter 8: The Movie Goes On
The next morning, the gang was getting ready for their scene as Scooby himself was holding onto a script with his nails filed and his face getting applied with soft makeup before Scooby then raised his glasses upwards before laughing.
"Hollywood.", Scooby spoke.
"In this scene, you not only discovered the grave of Morgan Moonscar, but also an important clue that leads to a big discovery.", Beau spoke.
"Okay.", Googie responded.
"So, that's how all that started?", Moon asked.
"Yeah. Surprised?", Googie responded just before a sort of engine revving sound was heard nearby.
"What was that?", Lena puzzled before the sound grew louder as the source got closer with said source turning out to be a sort of Monster Truck in the same colors as the Mystery Machine as it drove around the others and stopped.
"Eh, it's cool. But it's not as good as the original Mystery Machine.", Fred commented.
"Okay. What is this?", Rowena asked.
"Well, that would be my ride.", the driver inside spoke before opening the front door and then jumping off.
"Fred, gang, meet Seaver. He's our stuntman.", Alan introduced.
"Howdy.", Seaver greeted.
"Yeah. Not only does he do some stunts for the movie, but while doing so with vehicles required, he makes sure they're up to snuff for the big parts of the movie.", Beau explained.
"So, you're actually a stuntman?", Rowena puzzled.
"Yep. I've been driving it back and forth over the island since we came in on that ferry yesterday.", Seaver responded.
"Imagine that.", Rowena sighed before Gunther spoke up while leaning behind the side of the mansion.
"Hey, Rowena. You got a moment?", Gunther asked.
"Uh…, yeah. Sure.", Rowena responded with a blush before he and Gunther went somewhere behind the mansion.
"Okay. While those two have some time alone, we should have just enough time for our next scene.", Beau spoke.
"And what's that?", Scrappy asked.
"You'll see.", Beau assured before it then showed him speaking to the camera via headset microphone with Shaggy and Willow present with him.
"And action.", Beau spoke.
"I'm…hungry.", Scooby spoke.
"Okay, what? The line is actually, 'I'm scared'. Now, try that again.", Beau spoke as Scooby blinked his eyes and then nodded.
"I'm…hungry.", Scooby only repeated.
"Oh, we have so much work to do.", Beau sighed as Willow giggled before Shaggy then whispered into Beau's ear.
"Oh, yeah. That'll do it. Ahem. Scooby, I regret to inform you that there is no more food here.", Beau spoke.
"I'm…scared!", Scooby whimpered.
"There we go. That's more like it.", Beau grinned as Shaggy gave two thumbs up.
"Also, sorry we had to scare you like that.", Beau apologized.
Meanwhile, Rowena and Gunther went behind the side of the mansion.
"Is that spot good?", Rowena asked.
"Yeah, I think it'll do.", Gunther responded.
"So, is there a reason you brought us here?", Rowena asked.
"Actually, yeah. Well, you see, it's only been a day since we first met and I…kinda already have a thing with you.", Gunther responded.
"R…Really?", Rowena asked with a blush.
"Yeah. And if I'm being honest, it's not just how your eyes glisten in the sunlight or how your red hair looks. It's the way you keep your cool.", Gunther responded.
"You sure?", Rowena asked.
"Well, yeah. In fact, you're just about the coolest girl I know.", Gunther replied, making Rowena's blush darken.
"I... I don't know what to say. No one's ever really said anything like that to me before. Thank you.", Rowena spoke before quickly kissing Gunther, taking him by surprise.
After a few seconds, Rowena moved Gunther back.
"Whoa, that was...", Gunther began.
"Fun? Crazy? Wild?", Rowena asked.
"Yeah. All those things.", Gunther responded before overhearing a certain bump from the wall next to them, much to their puzzlement.
"Medic!", Alan shouted.
"Well, at least we kissed before that happened.", Rowena responded.
"Yeah, let's get back inside.", Gunther suggested.
Later, all the gang were present with Beau and Alan in front of them.
"Okay. Now, in this scene, Lena shows everyone to their own rooms sometime before dinner. All you need to do is go to the rooms designated to you as Lena brings you there. Okay?", Beau asked before the gang agreed, overlapping each other.
"Okay. Now, let's get started. Places, everyone.", Beau spoke, not knowing that Simon was there on the upper floor, reaching out for the chandelier with his claws, one of which gave a gentle slice, causing the rope to come apart with the chandelier lowering itself as Beau walked to a spot underneath it.
"And action!", Beau spoke before the scene started.
"Let me show y'all to your rooms.", Lena offered before noticing the chandelier about to fall on top of Beau with a gasp.
"Mr. Neville, look out!", Lena shouted as she then leapt up toward Beau, not knowing that her ears became cat ears, her nose became a cat nose, and her nails grew into claws while her cat tail grew, before she managed to get Beau away from the chandelier much to the surprise of all.
"Are you okay, Mr. Neville?", Lena asked, not knowing that Simon was watching in disgust before taking his leave.
"Yeah. But what happened?", Beau asked.
"It looks like someone deliberately cut the rope. But why? And is that…cat hair?", Velma asked as she pulled out a strand of said cat hair from where the rope was cut.
"Probably from one of those werecats we saw earlier.", Lena guessed as she stood up and morphed back to normal.
"This could be it. One of the unsolved capers! It's happening! I have to go!", Velma shouted as she ran upstairs.
"Should we be worried about this?", Rowena asked.
"Yeah, I don't think Velma's okay.", Daphne agreed.
"We've got big problems, Daphne. It looks like we have another mystery on our hands.", Fred spoke.
Later, at nightfall with the harvest moon rising, Velma was making preparations for solving the case, especially cleaning her glasses before she slid down the bannister.
"Velma! Velma, are you okay?", Daphne asked.
"I'm better than okay. I'm finally gonna get to the bottom of the 'Zombie Island' mystery! There's no way those werecats that attacked are real. This defies the laws of science.", Velma responded.
"But they were, Velma. We were there.", Daphne responded.
"Maybe. But this time, there has to be something else. Something rational. And now that they're making a move, this is my chance to find out what is really going on or my name isn't Velma Garbo.", Velma spoke in determination.
"Not since I became a movie star.", Velma responded before heading out.
"Velma!", Daphne shouted before the door shut behind her.
"'Garbo'?", Daphne puzzled.
Meanwhile, Velma ventured out into the forest, looking for accurate answers.
"I know you're out there. Come on, kitty, kitty, kitty.", Velma dared.
"You shouldn't be here.", Simon growled, causing Velma to gasp and turn to see not only the source of the voice, but also the other two werecats, both of which are feminine, along with several other cats meowing as their eyes glowed in the bushes, urging Velma to turn around and run as fast as she can.
A/N: And it looks like the werecats are about to make their move on Mystery, Inc. Uh-oh. Looks like we'll have to find out what'll happen next week.
