THE WISE WOLF CHAPTER 8:

Adi POV:

I made it through the week. None of the guys mentioned the dyslexia thing. They just left it alone which I was glad for. Today was Saturday, and we were having a bonfire tonight. Quil joined the pack on earlier in the week. He thought it was cool and liked having his friends back. Since he has so much control already, Sam is letting him be in the house.

I walked out to the kitchen and saw Leah sitting there. This is the first time I've seen her since the funeral. I got my normal breakfast. Jacob and Sam were on patrol, so they were not here yet.

"Oh, hey your the little anorexia and dyslexic freak aren't you?" She said with a mean tone.

The guys growled but I held my hand up to them to tell them to knock it off. "Outside." I told her.

"Why should I? I don't have to listen to you. I saw those scars on your back how did you get those. Another messed up accident. I bet Sam screwed you both up." She snarled.

I was not going to get mad. Her father just died. My brother broke up with her for her cousin. She is alone in the pack being the only girl. I took a deep breath. "I do not care if you want to say whatever you want about me. Trust me, no matter what you say, I've heard worse. However, you are not going to yell at me inside the house. Therefore, we are going outside so you and me can talk." I told her and added to the boys, "alone"

"You can't make me." She said.

Actually I could. I'm pretty sure I could alpha command them if I wanted to, but I wont. Instead I grabbed her arm and dragged her out the door. Being a demigod, I am as strong as her if not stronger due to my shape shifter genes mixed in.

We walked outside and sat down near the woods. "Talk" I told her.

"Why?" She asked.

"Because I know your not ok. I don't blame you for not being, and I'm one of the few people you can talk to about everything that doesn't share their mind with the pack." I reasoned.

"Fine" She said. "My Sam broke up with me and started dating my cousin who was my best friend and like a sister a day later. I turn into a dog. The first female ever. Therefore I'm a freak. I killed my father. He had a heart attack because I shifted. I have no friends. Rumors around the reservation say I'm sleeping with all of the pack. The whole rez basically thinks I'm a whore. I'm way to freaking tall. I had to cut my hair. I have to listen to my ex. I have to be in my ex's mind. I'm pretty sure the guys hate me, but I don't blame them. And finally, I was going to go to college next year, but I can't even leave the rez to do so." She stated, slightly shaking."

"Ok." I started. "I don't blame you. I'm not going to tell you it doesn't suck because it does."

"How would you know?" she snarled.

"I understand hating things out of your control and wishing to be normal." I told her. "I think it sucks that Sam imprinted on Emily and had to break up with you. I understand its hard being in Sam's head, but I don't think you can really blame my brother. I'm not saying you should really blame Emily either though."

"Why?"

"Sam was a new wolf. He had no one to help him. Imprinting for him was more confusing as he did not have someone with experience to explain it to him, so he had to figure it out himself. Also, a wolf has to be what their imprint wants. Sam did not quite understand everything."

"So it was Emily's fault?"

"Not exactly, but more hers than Sam's. I'm not saying you have to like Sam. I don't expect you to, but maybe just give him less of a hard time. I know it hurts seeing him with her, but when he is not acting like an ass, don't start stuff with him." I told her.

To my surprise, she said, "I'll try."

"Ok, that's the best I can ask of you. The next thing on your list was about being the only female. One, the spirits chose you for a reason, you are strong. Next, if Seth shifted, and you had to choose whether you wanted to shift or not, what would you choose?"

"To shift, I don't want Seth to be alone." She said.

I just nodded. "I think you can only be mad at the Cullens for moving here, but there is nothing you can change now." I took a deep breath and put my hand on your shoulder. "Your dad Leah. Harry's death was not your fault. I understand you feel like you caused it, but it was out of your control. I promise you he is in a good place now though."

"I shifted though. That caused his death." She stated.

"Did you choose to shift then? Did you have control?"

"I got mad though. It caused the shift." She argued.

"You know before you guys shift, you snap at the smallest things. Your anger pre shift is not really something you can control. Ok?"

She nodded.

"No one blames you either. Everyone understands it was not your fault."

"Ok." she said.

"Ok...um I guess rez rumors is next. Honestly, I don't know what to say to that, but the people that matter like your mom and brother know the truth. You know Embry was and is still sometimes grounded because his mom does not know where he is."

"I guess that's true, but it still sucks to have people stare and whisper about me." She said.

"Yeah, nothing I can say to help that one, so I guess moving on. Honestly, you look like you could be a model. I know you don't like your hair, but its not that bad. On the bright side, at least Sam let you keep it to your chin. Imagine if you had to cut it like the boys."

She had a small smile. "Ok, I guess it could be worse, but that does not mean its great. I still can't go to college or anything."

"True, you can't go to college, but what about taking a few online classes. I might end up doing that. I have not decided yet."

"I did not think of that. I guess I can look into it." She smiled.

"See, you just have to find the solutions and bright side. I mean, you have awesome senses now, and you are faster than all of the guys, which we both know they hate."

She smiled "Thank you."

"Of course. Come talk to me whenever rather than tearing everyone apart. The guys only have an issue with you because you are mean to everyone. When they are being dicks, tell them, but when they are being good, leave them alone. Its easier that way."

"Ok, I'll work on it."

"Thank you" I told her.

"Come on, we can go back inside and show the boys I did not kill you. Luckily you went far enough away wear they could not hear us at the volume we were talking."

I smiled at her and went back inside.

"Hey you didn't kill each other!" Jared exclaimed surprisingly.

"Of course not, Leah's fun." I told them.

"Sure she is." Paul muttered.

"Paul" I glared at him and he went back to eating.

Adi's POV:

"Stupid leech! Keeps jumping sides!" I heard one of the guys come in and yell.

"What happened?" I ask.

"We chased the redhead. The Cullens were too. She kept jumping sides. The big one almost crossed, so Paul jumped for her. Now the leech got away and Paul can't shift back because he is too mad." Jacob said to me.

"Ok." I said. I walked out the doors towards the woods where Paul was. Time to fix one of the problems. If the guys knew I was going after him they would be mad, so they probably still have an idea, but no one is telling me not to. I found a grey wolf pacing back and forward near the house.

"Hey Paul" I said softly. He looked towards me. "Its ok. I know you're mad. You did good tonight. Protected our land."

'Haha at least someone thinks I did the right thing' Paul thought.

"You need to shift back. There is food inside."

'Want food. Still mad though.' Paul thought and continued pacing.

"I know you're mad." I told him. "I would be too, but you need to calm down so you guys can talk about your plans as a pack."

'Calm down Ha! The only plans are to kill that stupid leech!'

I walked towards Paul and put my hand on his side. "Lie down."

I started petting him and felt him relaxing into me. "There you go. You did good. You all did. You think you can shift back now?"

'mmmmm. I don't know how Jacob's not dating her yet.' Paul got up and walked slightly away to where I could not see him anymore.

A minute later a human Paul came out and gave me a hug. "Thank you. You always know the right thing to say."

"Of course. You guys are my family." I told him.

He gave me a hug and we walked back to Emily's in silence.

"Hey Sam!" I called out.

"Adi where were you?" He asked, worried and a little mad.

"I went to get Paul. You guys need to talk about your next plans as a pack. Can't do that without Paul." I responded.

"So you went near Paul while he was mad and in wolf form?" He asked, now really mad.

"Don't worry Sammy I'm fine, and I brought Paul back."

"Wait, she managed to get you to calm down?" Sam asked Paul.

"Yeah she just knows the right things to say I guess." Paul responded.

"Ok, I thought I warned you about going near us. We could hurt you." Sam said.

"One, I already have scars, more won't make a difference. Two, none of you would attack me. And three, I don't follow the rules." I told him.

"Fine" He sighed. "Ok I guess we have to decide our plans."

"Do you want my opinion?" I asked Sam even though I would probably give it either way.

"Sure I guess." He said.

"Keep two wolves patrolling at most times. I would not recommend having Seth, Leah, or Quil together as they are still newer, however if you did it would not be too big of deal. Having two wolves patrolling will help you catch a scent easier and quicker. Next, the Cullen issue. Jacob will go down and warn the mind raper Cullen about crossing the border Monday. Besides that, if there is another chase, try to cut her off. Something tells me she has a gift of escape, but I'm not sure." I told him. "Honestly, you guys are doing good. You almost caught her tonight, and next time you will."

"Thank you. Why Jacob on Monday?" Sam asked me.

"Well Embry and Jared don't know Bella well enough. Paul won't be able to control his temper. He will probably start a fight with the leech, no offense Paul. And the other three are too new to be around a vampire or be all the way in Forks. I know Jacob probably doesn't want to, but its either him or you, and you should be on our land just in case there is a problem." I told him.

"Ok. Jacob, your going to go warn the mind reader leech who is dating Bella on Monday." Sam ordered him.

"Really, fine. Only because Adi thinks its the best idea." He said.

The guys smirked at him and called him 'whipped.'
