Don Antonio gulped.
"I have some money, not much, but some." He lied.
"Oh, I don't want money from you, senor. I want information. Tell me about your dealings with William Bracken."
"Bracken? Bracken. I have had no dealings with anyone of that name."
Kate sighed and took a step towards Don Antonio. She rested the blade of her dirk on his thigh.
"You shouldn't lie to me, and you shouldn't beat the maids in the Governor's Palace when they cannot arouse your passion. I talked to one of the maids on my late night excursions around the palace. She told me that you were very happy because you had made a great deal of money selling powder, shot and weapons to Bracken. However, you got drunk to celebrate and were unable to perform. And for that you beat her. Oh, and you won't be able to punish her if you return to Vera Cruz. I gave her enough gold for her to go far, far from you and live a pleasant life."
Kate used the tip of her blade to cut through the cloth on Don Antonio's pants, moving upwards from the thigh.
"Do you remember anything now, or would you like to see how I can arouse you?"
"Yes. Yes, I dealt with Bracken. I sold him powder and shot as well as guns for a third ship."
"A third ship? Tell me about it."
"I have never seen it or any of his ships, but he said it was a French brig, now named Hangman. He said he would hang you and your whole crew from its yards."
"What do you know about the ship?"
"He bought eight guns, six pounders for the ship. It's not heavily armed, but Bracken said it's as fast a ship as ever sailed."
"What about his other two ships, the Zephyr, 22, and the Phantom, 18?"
"The Zephyr mounts eight pounders and the Phantom mounts six pounders."
Kate smiled. Her Revenge mounted thirty-six twelve pounders which meant her broadside was far heavier than her adversaries, not counting the eight pounders on the Witch.
"Where is Bracken now? Where does he go?"
"I do not know. Bracken is not the kind of man to let just anyone know of his plans."
Kate thought for a moment and then sighed.
"I regret that I believe you. Bracken would not share any more than he had to with the likes of you."
As Kate began to walk away, Don Antonio got a bit of courage.
"Whore! Slut! Thief! Murderer! Pirate! I will see you hang for what you have done to me."
Don Antonio found that he had two very sharp daggers being pushed into his ears, very slowly. He managed to look to his side and saw that two young women were on either side of him and each had a dagger. One was a redhead and the other was a blonde.
"I do not care for the way you speak to my mother." Said the redhead. "Perhaps I could remove your tongue so that you would not insult your betters like that, thief."
The blonde shook her head.
"He'd hardly miss his tongue. We could remove something a bit lower that he would miss so much more."
"You have such excellent ideas, Priscilla."
The redhead removed her dagger from Don Antonio's ear and headed for his crotch. He tried to squirm away, but was tied too tightly.
"Ladies!" Said a male voice from behind Don Antonio. "I know that I've raised you better than this. You should not punish this man without giving him a chance to apologize to Kate. Really."
"You are right, of course, Father." Said the blonde. "Would you care to apologize, Don Antonio? Please don't feel that you have to as there are other options."
"Please, Captain Beckett, I most humbly beg your forgiveness for calling you those totally inappropriate words. You are a lady of beauty, intelligence, charm, courage, wit and breeding. Please, please forgive me. I beg of you." He babbled.
Kate turned around.
"I forgive you. I've decided you'll be put ashore on an island off the Moskito Coast. The local Indians go to the mainland every once in a while, so they might take you there. From there, it's only a few thousand miles back to Vera Cruz. Of course, after so long an absence, someone might have taken your place at the arsenal. Perhaps even an honest man who'll wonder about where all the powder and shot you've sold has gotten to."
Don Antonio began to cry.
A month later, Kate woke up in her cabin. In spite of the fact that she was sleeping in the nude and had the cabin windows wide open, she was drenched in sweat. A quick look at her husband showed that he was also very sweaty.
She slipped out of bed and went to the pitcher of water on her dresser. She took a cloth and wet it, then ran the wet cloth over her body. As she expected, the water was lukewarm.
"Need some help?" Castle asked.
This next part may be a bit more than K.
"I think my boobs are too hot. They need to cool down. Can you help?"
"I'll do my best." He said, getting out of bed. He took the cloth, poured some more water and began carefully washing her boobs."
"My nipples seem to be especially affected by the heat." She whispered.
"Perhaps if I sucked on them a bit?"
"It couldn't hurt, could it?"
He began kissing her boobs and then worked his way down her body, past her stomach to her shaven slit.
"Oh, that's making me hotter, lover, but it's a good hot."
"It would be best if you got back on the bed."
"You think?"
"I am a doctor."
She hopped back on the bad and spread her long, lithe legs as widely as she was able. He lay on top of her and she guided his cock inside of her.
"You are quite hot, and wet."
"Less talk, more action." She breathed.
He slowly made love to her, knowing that the day's heat, even at dawn, would wear them out if he was more active. Finally, she closed her mouth and moaned through an orgasm. In spite of the fact that they were husband and wife, she had always been shy about letting the girls know that they had sex. Not that Alexis and Priscilla had any doubt about that.
Moments later, he exploded inside of her, then slid off of her.
"We're both sweatier than when we began." He said.
"But happier."
"Much happier."
She stretched and got out of bed. She dressed, now in a pair of light linen pants and shirt, with a silk scarf around her head and rope soled sandals on her feet.
Rick, who usually always dressed in a conservative broadcloth suit, complete with a coat and cravat, dressed as Kate did in light linen trousers and shirt.
The two went to the quarterdeck.
"Anything to report, Mr. Esposito?" She asked.
"Nothing, Captain. This makes the ninth day without a breath of wind and the heat is over one hundred degrees. I calculate we've moved about a quarter of a mile since dawn yesterday, just from the currents. The Witch is still on station with us, not a half a mile behind us. Nothing else to report, Captain."
"You're relieved, Mr. Esposito. Go below, eat and get some sleep."
"If I can." Espo muttered as he left.
As they had nothing else to do, Alexis and Priscilla made breakfast for their parents and took it to the quarterdeck where all four ate.
The day passed slowly with little to do aboard the ship, aside from little make work projects thought up by the petty officers to keep the sailors form being bored.
The next day began much the same, up until noon.
"Ahoy the deck." Called the lookout from high above on the mainmast. "Ship ahead, fine on the port bow. I can't make out her hull for the haze on the horizon, but she has two masts with a gaff rigged aft sail. A brig, I'd say."
"Can you see if she's moving?" Kate called.
"She's drifting like we are, but I'd say she's headed this way. At least her bow is towards us."
None of the three ships moved much for the rest of the day, but dawn the next day saw the strange ship a mile or more closer.
"Have young Geordie take a telescope and climb to the top of the mainmast." Kate said. "He has the best eyes of anyone on the ship and I'm wondering about that other ship."
Geordie ran to Kate and got a telescope, then went up the ratlines to the very top of the mainmast. He studied the distant ship carefully for several minutes.
"Ahoy the deck." He called. "It's a brig all right, and it may be armed as it has what look like white painted gunports."
"Lots of merchant ships do that to make them look like warships to keep pirates away." Kate yelled back up to him. "Anything else?"
"Not yet, but the haze looks like it may be clearing a bit. May I stay up here for a bit longer, Captain? Please?"
"For a bit."
It was another half an hour before Geordie called down again.
"Captain, the crew is coming our on deck and are looking at us. And the crew is far too large for a merchant ship. She's either a warship of a pirate."
Rick, Kate and Esposito grabbed their own telescopes and studied the distant ship.
"They're putting boats over the side." Esposito said. "They're going to try to tow her away from us."
"Two can play at that game." Kate said. "They may have a lighter ship, but we have more boats and a larger crew. Plus, we can get help from the Witch. Mr. Esposito, signal the Witch of our intentions and have them send over their boats."
The other ship at the start began to move away from the Revenge, however, once all of the boats were pulling the Revenge, she began gaining on her prey. Kate replaced the boat's crews every hour to keep them as fresh as possible. The other ship replaced their boat's crews every four hours. By sunset, the distance between the two ships had diminished from some ten miles to about five.
"Is young Geordie rested?" Kate asked.
"Aye, Captain." Espo replied.
"Send him to the top of the mainmast then. When it's darkest, they'll try to change their course to get away. I just hope Geordie will see them."
The Moon was down and the night was at its blackest when Geordie called down again.
"Captain, they're altering course to the starboard, about twenty degrees, I make it. And they look like they're getting closer."
Dawn saw the Revenge right behind the other ship, no more than a mile apart.
One of the sailors approached Kate and knuckled his forehead.
"Captain, may I speak wi' ye?"
"Of course, Mike. You know that."
"Weel, I do know that, but I knows to be respectful ta the captain, as any member of the Brotherhood of the Coast should be. That said, I knows yon ship. She's the Phantom and I knows her well. I sailed on her during the last French war, when she was a privateer. But, she's Bracken's now I reckon."
Kate smiled.
"Mr. Esposito, would you please pick out our best gun crew and meet me at the bow chasers?"
