Chapter 8 Memories
Sakura pushes Jin away from Tomoyo and calls someone for help. Sakura is soon surrounded by everyone around her. Jin looks at the crowd area and slips away from them. Sakura turns around to look to see where that scum Jin went. She realized he slipped away. How much longer must he be out in the open and not be punished for hurting her best friend repeatedly.
Security came over to help Sakura to bring Tomoyo to the front of the mall waiting for an ambulance to take Tomoyo to the hospital. She had called Eriol immediately and said that they will be going to the hospital.
When Eriol had received the call he was just about to get out of his car to his home. He had just returned from Syaoran's apartment. His heart dropped when he heard from Sakura that Tomoyo was endangered again and Jin was the cause of her fainting again. Eriol clenches his fist in fury. He wasn't there again to help protect her again. He turns his car on and turns to the hospital that Sakura told him they were headed towards.
Sakura arrived with Tomoyo at the hospital. The doctor checks everything to see what is wrong with her. Sakura is waiting for his check up. He turns to Sakura and tells her that she just fainted from too much shock and fear.
Sakura sighs in relief. Suddenly, the door to the room was slammed open. Eriol was heaving and breathing hard. He runs to Tomoyo and wants to grab her hands but stops himself. He thought to himself, "she doesn't remember you. But even so, we are just friends."
"Eriol, are you okay?" Sakura asked him as he broke out from his trance. He continues to look at Tomoyo with concern. He never felt this way about his friends. He and Tomoyo had been talking more often and he could not but help himself from liking her so much. Eriol punches the wall in frustration.
"ERIOL!" Sakura exclaimed in shock. She didn't know he would hurt himself.
"I'm sorry Sakura. I wasn't able to protect her." He said guilty.
"Eriol," Sakura said softly, "You didn't know this would happen."
Eriol closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. "How is she?" he asked.
Sakura spoke to him, "She will be okay. She just fainted from shock."
Eriol paused for a moment and asked, "What happened?"
Sakura paused and looked at Eriol, "Jin was at the mall and we ran into him. I thought it was too awkward and Tomoyo didn't look so well. She told me she had a headache and I was worried. I just left for a moment and when I came back I saw Tomoyo push Jin away from her. By the time I reached her, Tomoyo had fainted." Sakura explained.
Eriol clenches his fist again. He had just punched a wall but he didn't feel pain. He just felt anger get a hold of him.
They heard someone moving around in the bed. They saw Tomoyo opening her eyes slowly and staring at them.
Sakura and Eriol rushed to her bed. Sakura grabs Tomoyo's hand and says, "Tomoyo! I have been so worried about you." Sakura cried.
Tomoyo gives Sakura a small smile and says, "I'm okay. I just have a headache."
Eriol and Sakura sigh in relief. They were shocked when Tomoyo spoke again.
"Sakura. I remember everything." She said softly and a tear slipped from her eyes. She shuts her eyes to remember the tortuous moment with Jin at the party. She didn't want to remember that night. She was happy not to remember that night.
Sakura started to cry with Tomoyo. "I'm so sorry Tomoyo!"
Eriol let the girls cry for a few minutes and asked, "Okay. Everything is fine now. Tomoyo are you scared of Jin?"
Tomoyo looks at Eriol. She remembers everything that Eriol did. He was there for her when she had woken up the first time and she had forgotten him. She felt very bad and wanted to make it up to him. He was a very good friend. She was happy to have met him and he saved her.
"Eriol." Tomoyo whispers. She wipes away her tears and smiles at him.
Eriol was surprised by her smile that he couldn't help but smile back at her. Sakura looked at both of them and knew she was ruining their moment again. She coughs and says, "Tomoyo, I need to call the girls that we won't be able to hang out tonight."
Tomoyo just nods her head in a daze. Sakura chuckles and walks out of the room leaving Tomoyo and Eriol together.
Eriol felt a sudden nervousness. He realized this was the Tomoyo he knew. The one before she forgot about him. He felt his hands feel clammy and didn't know what to say. Tomoyo looks up at Eriol and motions for him to sit next to her bed.
"Eriol. I want to apologize for not remembering you." she said softly.
Eriol looks at her and grabs her hand and says, "Tomoyo. It's okay you forgot about me. We just will start over again if you forget about me again." he said sweetly to her.
Tomoyo felt a sudden electric shock in her hand and she retracted her hand from him. Eriol smiles at her and grabs her hand again.
"Don't do that Tomoyo. I-I like holding your hand." he said shyly.
Tomoyo turned red from his confession. She nods her head shyly. Eriol beams at her and continues to hold her hand and caress it.
Tomoyo was starting to feel butterflies in her stomach and blush a deep red.
Sakura opens the door and peeks at them. She chuckles softly. She knew they liked each other a lot more than as friends. She sends a message to Eriol, "I'm leaving. You must take care of Tomoyo while I'm not here."
Sakura didn't want to be a third party to someone falling in love. She walked away. Eriol looked at his message and he spoke, "It looks like Sakura left. I guess it's just you and me for now." he gazed at her with affection.
Tomoyo secretly curses out Sakura in her head. "How dare she leave me with this situation." she thought.
Sakura was wandering back home slowly. She sighs of the outcomes of the day. The day had come out more stressful than relaxing. She massages her shoulder and pulls out a piece of candy to calm her nerves. The candy had a sweetness to it that made her smile. She arrived back home and saw her brother and father.
"Hi, Touya and Dad." Sakura greeted.
They both looked at her and smiled. She looked around and noticed there was someone else in the room as well. He had silver hair with a gentle smile and he turned to look at her. She had a crush on him before and blushes. But she no longer felt that way about him anymore.
"YUKITO!" She exclaimed and hugs him immediately.
"Hi, Sakura." he greeted.
"You are finally back from overseas!" she asked excitedly.
"Yes. It is winter break now and I just wanted to see my favorite little girl." he said.
Yukito could not believe Sakura had grown up so quickly and had turned out to become a very beautiful girl now.
Touya says quickly, "She isn't a little girl anymore."
Sakura nods in agreement.
"She just grew up into a bigger monster now." he said calmly. Sakura stops nodding her head and kicks Touya.
Everyone in the room laughs.
After chatting with Yukito for a while. Sakura went up to her room and opened her monitor. She had been waiting for Little Wolf's message. She read his message. She decided he must be very tired from traveling. She suppose he must be tired. She had sent him a quick message.
Syaoran had just taken a shower and walked out with a towel wrapped around his waist. He looks at his phone and sees he had many messages from his Mother and sisters. He had called them earlier that he had arrived and is settling in well. Yet, they still had bombarded his phone. He sighs and puts on his clothes getting ready for bed.
He opens his laptop and looks through his emails and messages. He was waiting for an email from someone. He closes his eyes and remembers a certain girl he had just met today. He frowns at the thought of her. He had a terrible day with her from the minute he had met her. But he could not help but admit she was very beautiful. He sighs and sees a message had popped up from Ying Fa. He smiles as he is reading through the email.

I had a very productive day today. I hope you are settling well where you went. My friend went to the hospital again. But she is fine. I think one of our friends had a crush on her. I didn't want to disturb the love. Haha. I really hope you had a better day than I did. The guy I was supposed to have a date with asked me to forgive him. But to be honest I am not mad. I just was frustrated he didn't answer my calls or even told me he could not make it. We decided to be friends for now. I would love to get to know him first. Do you think I made the right decision? I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Ying Fa
Syaoran frowns at the thought of this guy becoming her friend as well. Would she forget about him as well? He didn't like it. He starts to write his message, but he quickly deletes it in frustration. He walks out on his balcony and gets some fresh air to cool off. He thinks, "Ying Fa is just a friend. We barely know each other." He thinks again about Sakura and frowns, "Ying Fa would be nothing like this savage girl Sakura."
He remembers Sakura smiling at him at the airport and when she grabbed his hand at the restaurant. He looks at his hand and blushes. No one had ever tried to hold his hand before. He didn't know why he let her hold his hand. He went back inside and went to finish writing a message to Ying Fa.

I am settling well. My day was rather long and disruptive. I still manage to live. I am sorry about your friend. I do hope she gets well. If you want to forgive the guy, I respect your thoughts. I just hope you will be careful. Just remember I am always going to be here if you ever need to talk.

Syaoran hits submit. While he was writing his message he felt angry from meeting Sakura. He had remembered seeing the girl on the floor when he had arrived at the airport. He saw her bright emerald eyes and her hair curled at the ends. He was speechless from her beauty. He was ready to pass her when he had seen his name on a piece of paper. He had frowned because people were staring at her. He saw her blush and went up to her. He found her embarrassing. He hadn't meant to sound rude, but he wanted her to get up from the floor.
He sighs. He was a little frustrated hearing from his cousin that she thought of him as a pervert. He tousles his hair with his hands with frustration. "I am not a pervert." he declared out loud. "If I meet her again, I will set her straight." he promised.
The next morning he headed over to some shops nearby. He wanted to get some items to give to his Auntie and Uncle. Syaoran was looking through some items when he heard a voice. He had recognized the same voice on a phone call he recalled. He quickly turned and saw Sakura. She was walking with some of her friends. He quickly hid behind a mannequin. He just now recalled the same voice was her voice. He remembered suddenly that Eriol called her name out before. He wanted to smack his head. He thought, "Why am I hiding from her? I have nothing to be scared of"
He walks out from behind the mannequin. And continues to shop and ignore that she is there.
Sakura had turned around and noticed a familiar brown hair man from behind. She thought for a while thinking who this person was. He had looked familiar from behind. She shakes her head and continues shopping and ignores the feeling.
They continued to shop and ignore each other. They came to grab a silk green scarf. They both had grabbed it and looked at each other.
They said in unison, "YOU!"
They glared at each and tugged on the scarf.
Sakura says, "I saw this first!"
Syaoran snorts, "I grabbed it first!"
Sakura gave him a death glare and tugs the scarf harder. Syaoran felt her trying to take it from him. So he gave it a harsh tug. Sakura tripped over her feet from the harsh tug Syaoran did. She fell towards Syaoran.
He widened his eyes and ended up catching her from her fall. He could smell her unique smell. She smelled like a sweet cherry blossom and it didn't smell like a strong pungent perfume like his sisters would wear. Her body felt soft and light.
Sakura quickly looks at Syaoran in shock and exclaims, "Y-You!" She pushes him away and lets go of the scarf. She starts pointing at him and her lips press in anger. She didn't want to yell and make a scene. She knows he is Eriol's cousin, but felt like they were polar opposites. He was no gentleman in her eyes. Sakura exclaimed in her head, "PERVERT!"
Syaoran had fallen on the ground from her pushing him away. He gets up and looks up at her and glares at her. "I just only helped you not fall, yet you push me on the ground?" he said.
Sakura looked down and said, "I'm sorry." She walks away from him
Syaoran looks at her and shakes his head and thinks, "This is what I get for trying to help." He picks up the green scarf and heads to the cashier. He thought that trip would be relaxing but it just ended up being more stressful. He furrowed his eyebrows and thought about what to do next and to avoid this Kinomoto. He is starting to feel bad luck when he is with her.
Sakura was mentally still cursing out Syaoran in her head.
"Sakura!" some yelled at her. Sakura turns around and sees Kei. Sakura was surprised to see him.
"Hello, Kei." Sakura greeted him.
"Sakura, I haven't heard from you since yesterday. I wanted to know if you wanted to hang out today?" Kei asked. He was planning to try to make her fall for him. He hadn't thought she was going to play hard to get.
Sakura thought about it, but she had already had plans with Tomoyo and Eriol. Eriol had invited Tomoyo to eat at his family home. But Tomoyo was rather nervous and asked to invite Sakura to come too.
"I'm sorry Kei, I actually have plans. Maybe next time." Sakura said. She looks at her watch and says, "I'm in a rush, I have to go. I will see you next time" she quickly said and ran off to the exit.
Kei smiles and turns down to a frown. He coldly looks at other people around him and snorts. He simply just walks away and thinks of a plan so that Sakura would fall in a trap and this friend thing would be over. He didn't want to be friends with Sakura. He felt an urge to just control and obtain her.
The day of the date he had met up with his ex-girlfriend Mayumi. She was calling him to meet with her. When Mayumi had met with him she was arguing with him about him and her best friend. When he whispered to her during the party, he had said he cheated on her with her best friend. Mayumi had thought her friend had betrayed her. She had found out when Kei whispered to her that he had actually raped her best friend. He told her that there was nothing she or her friend could do to him. Mayumi had accused her friend as her friend was silent and acknowledging the rape. Mayumi wanted to warn this girl named Sakura of him. But she feared Kei would hurt her. She had kept silent for a while, but seeing her best friend deteriorating. She no longer wanted to keep silent. Her friend needed her.
Kei had met up with Mayumi and knew what she wanted to do. He had to shut her mouth for talking so much. He remembers telling Mayumi if she spoke a word of this she would regret opening her mouth. He threatened her and held her arms to restrain her. Mayumi feared him, she had never seen this side of him. He showed his darker side that only his friends have seen and most girls would see him as this nice guy. He didn't want his mask to be released so soon.
Sakura was walking by her park again. She smiles as she passes by. She remembers when she was younger and she was so carefree and had many friends. She would often give candy to everyone. She had sweet memories of her past. She quickly walked to her house.
Syaoran had been walking by the stores and found himself at a park. He walked inside the park and sat on the swing and pushed himself to swing a little. He felt the cold cool breeze on his face. He felt so relaxed.
Flashback:
"Hello, Li" a little girl said to him.
"Hello." Little Syaoran greeted.
"Where have you been these past few days?" she asked curiously. She shyly looked at him and looked away when he looked at her.
He sighs, "I'm moving soon." he spoke softly.
The little girl looks down and tears a little. She looked heartbroken. She says, "I want to give you a piece of candy. But I think I may need it more than you."
Syaoran looks at her with sad eyes. She was the only friend he had met here. For the first time he hadn't felt lonely. He rummages through his pocket and finds a piece of candy and gives it to her.
"What is this?" she asked.
"I'm giving you my piece of candy. I hope both the candies will make you more happier." he admitted, "I just don't like to see you feeling sad"
The girl smiles at him and gives him a hug, "Promise me you will come and visit me in the future." she asked.
They pinky promised each other they will meet one day in the future.
Present:
Syaoran thought back to that day. He had promised to meet her. But they still haven't met again. He wondered if he would meet her again. He vaguely remembers the memories he had when he was younger. She made an impact on his life for a passerby in life.
His feet hit the ground to stop swinging. He looks up at the sky and sighs. He stands up and starts walking to a limo that would take him to Eriol's place.
