Zombies, Oh My!

"GET AWAY FROM ME!" Ash yelled at the top of his lungs as a horde of fresh-eating zombies was chasing him in the streets of Raccoon City during a zombie apocalypse.

His legs felt like jello as he tried to outrun the undead from tearing him up limb from limb while avoiding obstacles in front of him. He jumped over a parked taxi that was in direct his path, only for him to stumble forward when he landed back down onto the pavement. Fortunately, he managed to recover his balance and sprinted forward into a dash, leaving the zombies in the dust. He noticed an alley up ahead on his right so he made a sharp right turn and ran through the narrow alleyway, accidentally knocking over a trash can in the process. When he ran past a few resting undead bodies against the wall, the sudden noise disturbed their slumber and woke them up. The zombies stood up and followed the teen.

When Ash reached the other side of the alley, he immediately retreated back and pressed himself against the wall. Slowly, he peeked around the corner and noticed several zombies were lurking around close by. 'Great...' He mentally sighed.

Just when he thought he could catch a breather, he heard several grunts and moans near him. Slowly, he glanced back at the alleyway and saw a couple of zombies staggering out from the darkness. He froze in horror. 'You gotta be kidding me!' He mentally screamed.

One zombie lunged forward and attacked, causing the Pokémon Trainer to scream.

"AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!"

"Claire, wait up!" Leon yelled at the young woman who was running ahead of him towards the Raccoon City Police Station.

"We have to find Sherry before-"

"LEAVE ME ALONE!" Leon and Claire was taken aback when Ash suddenly sprinted across from out of nowhere, causing the pair to stop dead in their tracks.

"Leon, just now-was that a boy in an Ash Ketchum cosplay?" a puzzled Claire asked.

"Y-Your guess is as good as m-"

Suddenly, a horde of zombies ran across, chasing after the poor teen.

"W-Were those zombies chasing after h-"

"Your guess is as good as mine, Leon." Claire suddenly cut in and finished his sentence.

Ash had his back pinned against the wall of a convenience store. He ran into a dead end after taking a wrong turn, trying to lose the horde. Now he found himself corner like a frightened mouse as the zombies were closing in on him little by little. "Great..."

The zombies lunged at the Pokémon Trainer who immediately shut his eyes and embraced for the inevitable. Fortunately for him, it never came. Several rounds of rapid gunshots abruptly echoed the air, followed by loud shrieking and then thuds. Soon awkward silence fell momentarily until a young woman's voice spoke up. "Are you okay, love?"

Ash slowly opened one eye and then the other until he fixed his attention on Party Girl who was standing in front of him with her sniper in hand. Looking past her momentarily was the bodies of the undead, lying motionless on the ground all around her. Each was taken out in a blink of an eye with her fellow teammates in the background were surveying the area, making sure they didn't miss a single one. Sighing a big relief, Ash glanced back at the blonde woman. "Thanks, I thought I was a goner."

"No problem, love." She smiled.

Noticing Ash, Dee-Ay cautiously walked up and approached the teen. "Hey, are you the only survivor around here?"

Ash blinked. "Uh, well, I'm not sure about that since I just got here by accident." he explained.

The leader frowned, looking a bit unsatisfied with the answer. "I see."

"Hey captain!" Tweed called out, drawing Dee-Ay's attention in her direction. "We had better get out of here. After that, we probably woke up the bloody neighborhood." she suggested, in which she received a nod.

"Right." Dee-Ay glanced back to Ash. "It's best we escort you out of the city. It's not safe here, um..." He paused momentarily, waiting for the teen to give out his name.

Taking the hint, Ash responded. "Oh, it's Ash. Ash Ketchum."

...

...

...

"...As in Ash Ketchum in that anime series?" Willow finally broke the awkward silence.

"Man, my kid loves that show!" Harley laughed. "He watches it everyday."

"Fascinating. Very Fascinating." Shona was already taking notes in his journal. This rare encounter was worth writing down.

"How the bloody hell is that even impossible?" Tweed asked.

"Your guess is as good as mine, Tweed." The puzzled leader was already baffled by this strange turn of events.

"Love, mind telling us how you got here?" Party Girl asked.

Sighing heavily, Ash simply responded. "It's a long story."

And this folks, is how Operation Aura started. xD Well, not really, but you get the idea.
