I finally found this bloody paybook!

My, this really is bloody.

Where'd all this blood come from?

Eh no matter, I finally got the bully back!

Right, what happened during those few months this poor, lovely playbook missed?

I've been accepted into the Army! Sure it's not as grand due to no one taking me seriously (I blame being vertically challenged), but my 'glorious' actions during basic training automatically earned me the rank of Lance Corporal. I suspect there had been some foul play up above. I'm looking at you pops.

One sweet, sweet bonus is the automatic assignment of a rife! Not too long after I misplaced this jotter, the army implemented a new variation of the Lee-Enfield bolt-action rifle! The leng was already a smooth action, with the ability to cycle the bolt in just two quick flicks instead of four like the one we have back home. New improvements include a short magazine which allows us to load up to 10 rounds in two chargers. A big improvement over the standard five of other nation's armies, so I've heard.

Training was pretty streamlined since I already had longarm training. The difference between a shotgun and a rifle isn't that much of a difference except for the ammunition used. Other than that, it's simply pointing and pull. The only problem I had with the new rifle was the instructor's encouragement to load two chargers when empty. This is supposedly standard practice, but he hasn't seen combat yet from the looks of his shiny medals.

Anything else?

Ah yes.

I managed to get in touch with a guy from Parker Pens. While I like the brass one I have now, it's too bulky and uniform to really inspire me to write. It's also too heavy from its thick walls that make up the barrel and cap. Supposedly, the guy I know will ship it back to the states to get it retrofitted and remade. I have no idea how long that pen's been used, but I know I'll need a new nib and body. We'll be going over the specifications later this week, but for now, I'm stuck with this dam pen.

Dam it. I did it again!
