In one version of the Star Wars Universe, the Battle of Eedit Temple was the end of Master Halsey, his Padawan Knox, and half of his division. But in a different version of the Universe it wasn't the end. It was a beginning, one that no one saw coming. AKA, Commander Trauma is a Dad and adopts a child when freeing his General. This could be a problem

8. Chapter 8 Thoughts?

Halsey knew that he couldn't expect Trauma to come to him much, but that didn't mean he wouldn't welcome the sight of him. Then kicking himself for wanting something when he was an adult and Trauma was taking care of an abandoned child he tried to sit up. A few moments later the familiar force signature came into the room as his Former Master.

Smiling at him from behind the mask, "It seems that Knox has taken the idea that if he doesn't meditate you won't let him spend time with Luorin seriously."

There was a slight unease in his old Master and Hasley didn't comment on it. He just smiled in return, "Oh to be young."

Adjusting the pillow for the younger man to sit up easier Master Koon sat down, "I informed the medics we are having the device in Luorin's heart removed tomorrow." Raising his clawed hand before Halsley could protest, "We have gone through all of the options and it will be perfectly safe. The sooner we remove it the more the side effects go down."

Nodding silently Halsely sat back. Then he asked quietly, "How did she take it?"

"She is excited at the idea," looking at him quickly at the sadness in his voice, "as all the innocent believers are."

Closing his eyes at this Halsey shook his head. Absolute faith, an even greater burden than all of the disbelief in the universe. "And Commander Trauma?"

"Ready to take on anyone who hurts her." A slight note of something entered his voice, "It seems he takes the role of Uncle seriously."

Looking quickly at his Former Master, "You have a niece?"

Smiling behind his mask, "Several of them. And many nephews as well." Turning back to the task at hand, "But none of them believe that Master Secura is going to hurt them or kill their Uncle." Going to the small window in the wall of the recovery room, "That child has seen much darkness in her short life."

Having had experience with Plo Koon's parental instincts Halsley just looked at him, "I think the role of parent is already taken." Tilting his head to one side, "Because among the Nightbrothers 'Uncle' is the same as 'Father'."

Nodding slowly, "I will speak with Agen and Eeth to learn more." Putting a hand on Halsey's shoulder, "Rest now." After getting the nod of agreement he left.
