Right, so voting has ended, Arcee was the clear winner, now lets see the origins of Galvatronus.
Ryu wolf: Chromia will indeed meet Flamewar, but only after learning from Jack that she's Arcee. As for the Jack questions, well this chapter answers them.
OPlv2: Well, we shall if your suspicion of who Galvatronus might be is correct or not, as we learn that this chapter.
A Lesson in History Plus One More History Lesson
Sierra frowned as she glanced at Miko, the girl had been silent, upset that she missed the chance to see some action. But something did seem off, Jack had strangely vanished the same time the Wreckers left.
"Incoming groundbridge request from Scotland." Raf cried, glancing towards Ratchet.
The Autobot medic nodded, quickly activating the groundbridge. "Wheeljack, what happened? Where are the others?" He began asking, only to pause as he saw Wheeljack, standing still. In one servo was the Apex Armour, in the other, was Jack.
"Wait, Jack snuck out with you lot?" Miko questioned in disbelief, watching as Jack refused to leave Wheeljack's servo.
Wheeljack glanced at Miko. "I know you got questions kid, but right now I'm needed."
Miko frowned in confusion, since when did Wheeljack take an interest in Jack? As she glanced at Ratchet, she saw the same confusion in his optics. "So, what happened?"
Wheeljack looked at Jack. "We lost the bone, but we got the Apex Armour back from Starscream, well, Jack did…" He trailed off, placing the armour down before looking at Arcee's lifeless shell. "And encountered an old comrade."
Ratchet frowned. "What do you mean old comrade?" He questioned.
"It was Arcee." Jack's voice echoed over the hanger. "But she wasn't Arcee anymore."
Wheeljack sighed. "Arcee's got a new body, an Insecticon body." He explained, placing Jack by the Apex Armour. "I have a feeling Galvatronus had a hand in her apparent resurrection."
Ratchet nodded, glancing back towards Sierra. "I see, that will, upset Chromia greatly, if she hasn't already felt it."
"I just ot wind of another Con hotspot." Fowler announced, making his presence known. "Right outside of Taos, New Mexico."
Ratchet nodded. "Since Optimus isn't back from his mission , Wheeljack, I need you to go investigate."
Wheeljack nodded, glancing at Jack. "You want to come?" He questioned, knowing that whatever Jack decided, it was his choice.
A flash of light engulfed Jack, fading o reveal him in the armour. "Yeah, I got a few questions of my own to ask you as well."
The Wrecker nodded, glancing back at Ratchet. "We're ready doc."
The medic nodded, moving towards the controls. "Raf, set a bridge for Fowler's coordinates."
Pulling the lever, the vortex burst to life, allowing the two to pass through, unbeknownst to them, Miko made a run, vanishing through after them, Sierra not far behind her.
Megatron grinned as he held the two bones within his servos. "Excellent work Soundwave, you as well, Flamewar. Soon Project Predacon will be well underway." He paused, glancing at Starscream. "As for you, Starscream, how did you managed to loose the Apex Armour to a human?"
The Air Commander backed up slightly, only to find himself backed up against Galvatronus. "You lost what to the human girl?" Megatron's brother demanded, his crimson optics burning brightly.
Starscream turned, his lips twisting into a smirk. "It wasn't the girl, it was the boy, Jack." He replied, confident that he had Galvatronus on spot. "That vison of yours isn't coming in handy now is it?"
Galvatronus chuckled. "Oh, but I know these events well, not because of my prophetic visions, but because I have seen it all before." He revealed advancing forward. "But you should consider yourself lucky that Flamewar intervened when she did, otherwise, we wouldn't be having this conversation."
The Air Commander felt his wings lower as his optics widened, Galvatronus was an enigma to him, the previous second in command of the Decepticon's was mysterious, no doubt Megatron was among the only ones who truly knew him well. It was unsettling.
"It seems that the apparent demise of Arcee has affected him greatly, if he is now hanging out with the Wreckers, but now that he no doubt knows that Arcee survived, and lives on, it will bring something out in the boy." Galvatronus went on. "I suspect he will cling to the memoires he has whilst moving on in his life."
Starscream was puzzled, and confused. "What do you mean?"
Galvatronus smirked, his ground fangs glimmering in the bridges light. "It means everything is going as planned." He answered, pushing the Air Commander to the side. "Does Soundwave have anything else to report regarding his mission?"
The communications officer nodded, an image of Divebomb flashing to life. "A Predacon, among the Autobot ranks, how?" Megatron demanded.
Galvatronus chuckled. "So this is where she came to reside." He observed, eyeing Divebomb's helm closely. "The daughter of Predaking, Onyx Prime's chosen one."
Megatron glanced at his brother, there was something different, something knowing, something he didn't know. "Is there something you care to tell, brother?"
Galvatronus shook his head. "Only when the time is right, for even I cannot change or foretell what Primus has set in motion." He turned, glancing at Flamewar. "Flamewar, come, there is much you must know." He beckoned, marching to make his leave. "Soundwave, open a groundbridge to my citadel."
The communications officer quickly turned, a the groundbridge vortex forming quickly. Megatron only watched as the two vanished, his optic narrowed in thought. "I do not wish to question your intentions Lord Megatron, but Commander Galvatronus seems to hold, unknown intentions, I fear these intentions could be damaging to the Decepticon cause."
Megatron hummed in acknowledgement of Starscream's observation. "My brother does appear to be planning for something, perhaps the coming of another. Whatever the case, I suggest we keep a close eye on him whenever he is present."
Jack eyed the remains of the Vehicons he and Wheeljack just scrapped, it was a nice distraction from the thoughts of Arcee's betrayal. "Woah, I never you could you fight Jack." Jack turned, his eyes wide at the sight of Miko. "Miko?" He questioned. "And Sierra?" He felt slightly surprised at the red heads actions.
"Well, I guess Miko didn't want to be left out." Wheeljack observed, coming to a stop, his gaze soon fell upon Sierra, he didn't know the girl well enough to judge her actions carefully.
"Sierra, I though you'd know better then to go rushing out after that incident in Jasper." Jack said, holding a hand out for the red head to climb into.
"And what, be stuck back at base with the tech nerds?" Sierra replied, meeting Jacks gaze. "Besides, from what I've learned, you guys do it all the time."
Jack groaned, following Wheeljack into the mine. "First of all, I only ever leapt into the field to stop Miko doing something stupid, and second, whenever I am in the field, it's because the Cons showed up. That time with Smokescreen doesn't count."
Wheeljack glanced over his shoulder. "You mean that mission wasn't the first time you pulled a Miko?"
Jack sighed in annoyance. "Ok, but that one can be overlooked, it meant the Cons didn't get their hands on the Star Saber."
"Alright." Wheeljack replied, turning his attention back to the cave ahead of them. "Cons, sounds like their drilling as well." He turned, glancing at Jack. "Want to put the girls down and have a little fun?"
Jack nodded, placing Sierra upon the ground. "Keep back and out of sight while we deal with the cons."
Sierra nodded, watching as Jack took the lead, absorbing the firepower delivered onto him by the miners and their guards. She watch in shock as Wheeljack charged, the two Jack's taking the cons down with ease. She hadn't known Jack was this skilled, perhaps he took classes.
Galvatronus frowned as he advanced, Flamewar by his side. "As you are aware, I have been preparing for his return for a while now, however, my existence didn't come about because of the danger he presents, but for another reasons." He began, coming to a stop.
"I was reborn by Primus, alongside twelve others, a new generation of Primes, each of us chosen by one of the original, while Primus chose the final, simply because he had gone rogue and betrayed the rest."
"You see, I came form an alternate timeline, where Megatron was victorious, he would proceed to conquer the Earth with his armies, I fought hard, alongside others, protecting those around us. We were aided in our efforts by Predaking and the remainder of M.E.C.H."
Galvatronus sighed, his optics narrowed in remembrance. "Sadly, despite our best efforts, we lost, and on the verge of defeat, thirteen humans were enlightened, given a chance to prevent what was to come, and lead not only Cybertron, but Earth as well, into a new age of peace."
Flamewar nodded, glancing towards Megatron's brother. "So, you were one of them, but who were you?"
Galvatronus closed his optics, his hands clenched tightly. "I remember your death so vividly, when Megatron tore you in half, he wanted to punish me, for what I had done to him, for the harm I had done to his pride." He paused, shaking slightly as he opened his optics, a bright blue met Flamewar's red. "I was Jack, now I am Galvatronus, Megatronus' chosen."
"The Fallen." Flamewar muttered, gaze locked on Galvatronus.
"Indeed, and I posses a connection to all the others chosen by the Primes, I am the centre, the first chosen. The pillar that holds them all together. It is way I will not allow Megatron to succeed." Galvatronus stated, his bright blue optics fading back to their crimson red. "And to do so, Megatron and his forces must be at their weakest, so that when I struck, the Decepticons will fall apart at the seams, leaving them scattered and, most importantly of all, defeated."
Jack moved several rocks to the side, glancing back at Wheeljack. The wrecker glanced back, Sierra and Miko held sentinel, keeping an eye out for any Decepticon reinforcements. "So, who was Springer?" Jack asked, pausing in his work.
Wheeljack sighed, turning to face Jack. "He was my mentor, he taught me how to use my swords, I was closer to him then I was to others. He taught me all I know." The Wrecker turned, glancing down the tunnel. "I can't fault him for following Ultra Magnus, it was his choice, but we fighting Devastator, trying to stop him rom reaching Tagan Heights. It was when Galvatronus made his presence know, swooped like a predator, headed straight for Ultra Magnus as well."
"Springer leapt in the way, wouldn't let Galvatronus past him. I tried to provide aid, but Ultra Magnus wouldn't let me. Went to provide aid himself." Wheeljack closed his optics as he started to dig once more. "Galvatronus got the upper hand, that Con was stronger than he let on, disarmed Springer quite literally, then used his fancy cannon to kill him."
Jack nodded. "And you blamed Ultra Magnus for it?"
Wheeljack nodded as he placed the drill aside. "Springer was hardly recognisable after the battle, whatever it was Galvatronus use, it vaporized a lot of his armour. I left after that, went rogue, spent my days tracking down Galvatronus. Wherever I went, I found fellow Wreckers, felled by his blasted weapon."
"The only reason I agreed to aid Magnus in his attack on Tesarus was to avenge Springer and the other Wreckers Galvatronus had slain. Yet it seems even that failed to kill him."
Jack sighed, memories of Arcee flashed before him. "And Arcee joined him." He muttered, his mind going into overdrive as he began to put several things together. His eyes widened. "Wait a minute, if Galvatronus didn't kill Arcee, then he managed to take what made Arcee, well Arcee. You think he did the same to the Wreckers?"
Wheeljack frowned at the question. "I don't know, I don't want to get my hopes up…" He trailed off, the two of them coming to a slow realisation. "You don't think that…"
"Galvatronus is planning something bigger than this war?" Jack finished.
And Megatron smirked as he eyed the Predacon bone in Knockouts servos, unbeknownst to him, a bird flew off into the distance, an orange bird marked with the Autobot insignia.
This all takes place during Plus One, I didn't bother writing the stuff with Knockout, June and Fowler because that was mostly the same, safe the fact that Bumblebee and Chromia take Wheeljack and Arcee's place for the rescue.
The sub plot of this mysterious being's return is a set up for the sequel, Retribution.
The origins of Galvatronus are revealed I had trashed so many concept ideas of a Jack being Cybertronian or turned Cybertronian story for a long while, the original concept for this story had Jack and Sierra as ancient Cybertronians, Jack still retained the name of Galvatronus while Sierra was known as Scorchfire where Jack had served Megatronus Prime/The Fallen and Sierra served Solus Prime. The idea was that they'd end up on Earth, guarding Unicron's prison until they awakened during the days of the Autobot/Decepticon war there.
Speaking of plots, whenever I've had time away from this story, my brains been going into overdrive regarding a different telling of this story, one where we know who Jack, Miko and Raf are reborn as, this idea would start before the war, where ideals held from their previous life are changed due to the caste system and loyalties shift where it would then conclude with Predacon's Rising, however, this story would be a lot darker then anything I've done before, let me know if this is something that should be written.
