Sorry for the wait everyone, procrastination got the better of me. But I hope you'll all enjoy chapter 8 regardless!

"Your mission is to kill the second Lancer class servant, Son Goku. Can you do that, Shirou Emiya?"

Chapter 8

"So, Alaya, can you give me any information about this Goku guy?" "I'm afraid even I don't know much other than his name and current master." "You've got to be kidding me. How the hell am I supposed to kill the guy if I don't know his weaknesses?" "All I can tell you is that his master is a girl known as Rin Tohsaka. Everything else you'll have to find out on your own." That name sounded familiar to him, but he couldn't quite put his finger in why. Then it hit him, he knew exactly who she was. "Just my luck…"

Emiya Residence

Shirou had just woken up from a nap after last night's encounter with Vegeta. "Ugh man, why does it feel like I have a bunch of swords going through my body?" Thinking it was just a sore muscle, he got up and put his clothes on. "Hmm, I wonder where Saber is." As Shirou was walking towards the dojo, he saw Goku. He was meditating in his backyard, holding himself up with his tail.

"Hey Goku!"

Goku stopped meditating and looked up to see who was calling for him. "Hm? Oh, hey there Shirou. What can I do for ya?"

"Goku, you're a martial artist right? Those clothes of yours look similar to those a martial artist would wear."

"Hehe, I am actually. I was taught at a very young age how to use martial arts to protect myself and others around me. It's really helped me out over the years."

"Do you- do you think you could teach me martial arts too? When Saber fought that Vegeta guy, I was helpless to do anything. And I don't want to be like that anymore."

Goku realized that this boy was somewhat like himself, wanting to get stronger in order to protect others. All Goku could do was smile. "Is that so? Alright then, I'll train you in martial arts. But before we start, you should go ask Saber. She doesn't seem to like me very much, so maybe training under me would get under her skin. She's in that dojo over there."

"Oh, ok." Shirou started to head for the dojo as instructed. As he entered the dojo, he saw Saber, her eyes closed and sitting on her knees. She seemed to be meditating as well. "Hey, Saber."

Hearing his voice, she opens her eyes, gets up, and looks back at him. "Hello, Shirou. Did you need something?"

"Yeah. But first, can I ask what you were doing in here?"

"I have been resting. I thought I should at least get into peak condition. But Shirou, regarding last night, I feel there I must tell you."

"Okay, hit me."

"I don't think we should trust Goku."

"What?! Why not?! Is it because of what happened last night?"

"That's part of it, yes. Half of it is, us Saber class servants are regarded as the strongest servants. But when I met Goku, I could tell that everything I did against him was futile. He never even bothered to attack me back, he only dodged and blocked all my attacks. It hurt my pride as a Saber, and as a knight as well. The second half is what happened last night. That Vegeta guy was too strong. It took everything I had, even unsheathing Excalibur, just to land a single blow. I'm worried that if we keep them around, only bad things will happen."

Shirou had known that she was having issues with Goku, but never to this extent. "So… you don't like him?" He asked.

"I can't say that I dislike him. But I have this… feeling that if he remains here, something bad will happen to you. Even more so than what the Vegeta guy can do. And I can tell that, for whatever reason, he wants to protect you too, Shirou. But I'm just not able to put my full trust in him. I'm sorry if that wasn't what you wanted to hear, but it's what I feel right now."

"Don't worry Saber, it's ok. I understand. And actually, the reason I'm here is to ask you if you were ok with letting Goku teach me martial arts."

After hearing this, Saber only turned to him and stared him straight in the eyes, as if saying 'Say that one more time'.

"Um… is that ok with you-"

Saber quickly interrupted him, "What?!"

"So that's a no, huh?"

Saber only pouted. "How about this. I'll allow this training with Goku under one condition. You have to train in the ways of the sword with me as well."

Shirou's face lit up instantly, he didn't actually plan on getting a yes anyway. "Yea! Sure, I'll do that. But I thought you didn't want anything to do with Goku?"

"The only reason I'm allowing this is because he doesn't seem to harbor any ill intent towards you. And knowing a little martial arts will help keep you alive as well." Saber quickly retorts.

"Thank you so much Saber!" He quickly runs up to her and gives a big hug. After realizing what he's just done, he quickly stops and backs up. "I'm sorry! It was in the moment!"

She could only sigh at him. "Just go train already." With that, Shirou ran back up to Goku with the good news. As Saber peeked out the door at them, she could see them both jumping up and down like little children playing.

Shirou stopped jumping out of excitement, Goku followed his lead and stopped as well. "Well Goku, I'll be inside. I have to make lunch for everybody. I slept in longer than I should've"

"-Gasp-You can cook Shirou!?" Goku was getting jumpy again.

"Of course. My dad was sick growing up, so I had to learn to cook for us. And someone you can call my sister wasn't that helpful either."

"Huh, neat. But Shirou, let me tell you something first."

"Sure, what is it?"

"You have to make a lot of food. Us Saiyans are basically black holes when it comes to stuff like that. Ok?" Goku adds.

"Really? Well, how much food?" Shirou began to get nervous. "A black hole? That's got to be an exaggeration."

"You make what you think is enough, and I'll eat what's left after everyone else is done eating. That way, everyone gets to eat."

"I don't see why not. Ok, I'll get right on that." Shirou headed back inside to prepare lunch for everybody.

"Hehe, thanks Shirou!" Goku yelled from behind him. "Now, I should meditate some more, it might help me remember more about myself."

Shirou had finally gotten into the kitchen, when the phone started to ring. Shirou walked over and picked it up. "Hello, Emiya residence."

The voice he heard was one he didn't expect at all. "Hey, Fujimura here!"

"Fuji-nee?(this was in the dub too) What do you want? I'm a little busy at the moment."

"Well so am I! I gave up my day off to look after my students while they're practicing. Anyway, I have a mission for you. Make me a lunch and deliver it to the archery dojo ASAP. Now get moving!" She yelled from the other side of the phone before hanging up.

"Huh? I can't just leave now that I'm about to start cooking.-sigh-Guess I'll ask someone else to do it. And there's only one person who might actually say yes."

Shirou walked back outside with the food he had made for Fujimura. "Hey, Goku! Can you do me a favor?"

Goku, again, stopped his meditating. "Sure. What's the favor?"

"I need you to deliver this food to my, in a sense, big sister. She's over at my school. Can you do that for me?"

"Of course! But I am a bit worried about something. What if she asks how I know you?"

"That… is an excellent question. Um, I guess I can go with you. We'll say you're my personal teacher for martial arts. We technically aren't lying that way."

"Hm, I guess. Ok, let's go!" The two began heading towards the front gate.

Homurahara School

Goku was once again wearing his casual clothes he made for himself, and it was the first time Shirou had ever seen them. "Huh, got to admit Goku. Those clothes look pretty good on you." Shirou stated.

"Hehe, thanks Shirou. Although I personally like to wear my gi everywhere, these clothes aren't too bad either." Goku and Shirou started to walk through the school grounds, and Goku looked very lost. He had only seen the main building before, so he had no clue as to where the archery clubs dojo was. "Man, it's a good thing you came along Shirou. I probably would've had a hard time finding the place."

"Haha, don't mention it. Besides, I'm the one who was supposed to come here anyway. I should be thanking you for coming with me. Ah, one more thing. Can you hide your tail while we're inside? I don't want them to be suspicious."

"Oh, sure thing." With that, Goku hid his tail inside his pant leg so it wouldn't be noticed by anyone.

"Thanks Goku. Oh, there it is."

"Alright. They'll probably recognize you so you should go inside. I'll stay out here and keep watch. Don't want another Cú situation happening."

"That's fair. Ok then."

The door was wide open, so Shirou walked right on in. Goku took a peep inside to see that it was indeed an archery dojo. Just then, a girl with purple hair came from around the corner. "Oh, senpai. You made it." As she said this, she looked at Goku with a confused look.

"Hey Sakura, I've brought Fuji-nee's lunch. Can you call her for me?"

She continued looking at Goku for a moment before saying something. "Ah, of course. One moment." With that, she left the room. Only to be replaced by someone else.

"Boy, am I glad to see you." She stated. "Miss Fujimura's been a real handful. She gets high-strung when she's hungry."

"Oh, hey there Ayako. Why didn't you check this morning to see if Fuji-nee had her lunch with her?"

"Hehe, I guess I was really tired today."

"Is it Shinji again? Where is he anyway?"

"Playing hooky. I assume he got a new girlfriend to hang out with. But anyway, Emiya… Who's that guy outside? He's pretty handsome. Is he a friend of yours?"

"Uh… I guess you could say he's a new teacher of mine."

"Oh really? Well, tell him I said hi. I've got to get back to practicing. See ya later Emiya!" She started to run back to the range where the other students were firing from.

"-whew-Good thing she didn't ask anymore questions." Shirou said with relief.

After Fujimura had come and gotten her lunch, Goku and Shirou started to walk away from the building. Until Goku asked Shirou a question. "Hey, Shirou. Can I ask you for a favor?"

"Hm? Sure, I don't see why not."

"Can you take me around the campus? I want to get to know this place more. Our little mission just now made me realize how little I know."

"That's it? Sure thing. Consider it thanks for coming along with me earlier."

"Haha, you're the best Shirou!" With that, Shirou took Goku around the campus as he had asked.

Hours later

"-sigh-Man Shirou, I can't believe there's so much stuff here at your school."

"Yeah, the campus may not be very big. But we have tons of clubs and other fun things to do here."

"You can say that again. Oh, we're back at the lockers. I'll go wait outside while you change your shoes." Goku said.

"Alright."

While Shirou was putting his normal shoes on, he heard a familiar voice behind him. "Emiya, is that you?" It was Ayako. "What are you still doing at school?"

"Oh, you guys are done already too?"

"Yeah, we're wrapping up early today."

"Ok then, see you later. And keep up the hard work.

As Shirou was walking away, Ayako called out to him again. "Hey, Emiya… will you ever come back to the archery club? It sounds like miss Fujimura is trying hard to talk you into it, but, where do you stand?"

"Well… I'm thinking of giving it another shot once I get some things sorted out."

"You are? That's a little surprising."

"What do you mean by that?"

"From the minute you joined, you were so good it was scary. But, it always seemed like you were never interested in hitting the target. Or maybe you didn't have the desire to want to hit it. I just assumed you quit because you got bored of it. It's like you don't have any desire for anything nowadays."

"You think so?"

"I'm not saying you should be like Shinji, but try to have some fun now and again."

"Man, it must be pretty bad if I'm getting pity from a classmate."

"I mean, come on Emiya. You never smile anymore." There was a pause, like the tension could be cut with a knife. Until Ayako spoke up again. "Do you remember that time from training camp? When we were all being rowdy and telling jokes. You were the only one who didn't laugh at my best material. I'm still carrying a grudge for that you know. Well, I need to go to the faculty room. So I'll see you tomorrow."

"Ayako…" As she walked down the hallway, Shirou felt something come over him, and ran up behind her. "Ayako!"

She turned around to see Shirou running up to her. "Emiya? What's wrong?"

Shirou didn't really have a plan, but deep down, he knew what he needed to say. "If you ever need help, or anything else, all you have to do is ask ok?"

Ayako was shocked. This was the first time Shirou had ever offered to help her himself. Even though she didn't show it, she was happy. "He, sure thing Emiya. See you tomorrow." After that exchange, the two went their separate ways.

Shirou and Goku were walking back to Shirou's place, talking about what Shirou did in school. But they had two others tagging along behind them.

One of them was hauling a moped alongside her, and the other walking beside her. They were keeping pace with the two in front of them, but didn't want to be right behind them either. Soon, the one with the moped whispered to the girl next to her. "What is this? That guy's been walking with Shirou since we left the school."

"I know. Do you think senpai knows him well enough to do that?"

"I don't know Sakura, but I'm going to find out. Hey Shirou!" she yelled from behind.

"Hm? Fuji-nee, what's up? Do you need something?"

"Yes I need something. Who's that guy next to you?"

Shirou looked back at Goku. "Do you want to tell them, or should I?"

Goku was quick to respond. "I can do that." Turning around, Goku stated "My name is Goku. And Shirou here asked me to be his personal martial arts instructor."

Sakura and Fujimura both had the same response. "WHAT?!"

One explanation and a chewing out later

"So, Goku's here to see Kiritsugu after he had met him while being abroad. And when you saw him practicing his techniques, you became interested and asked him to tutor you? Am I getting all this correct?" Asked Fujimura.

"So far, yeah. And he'll be coming by my place every now and then to practice with me." Replied Shirou.

"Interesting. Is there anything else that I need to know Shirou?"

"Um… you'll find out once we get home."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

Emiya Residence

"Okay Shirou, I've gotta get back to Rin. She'll probably get mad if I stay here any longer." Goku stated.

"He, no problem Goku. Thanks for coming with me to the school earlier." replied Shirou.

"No problem. I'll see you tomorrow for your first training session."

"Got it!"

After their quick exchange, Goku headed off back to the Tohsaka Manor. Leaving Shirou, Fujimura, and Sakura in front of their home. "So, should we head inside?"

Shirou suggested only to get a quick response from Fujimura. "Yes! I can't wait to have you cooking for dinner again!"

Shirou had brought all the food out and placed it out onto the table. And everyone started eating, but Fujimura and Sakura had their eye's on one person in particular. Saber.

"Hey Shirou, who's the girl?" Fujimura asked with her mouth full.

"She's also someone who came to see my father. They met during one of his trips abroad as well. As coincidental as it may be with her and Goku, it's true. The problem is, she doesn't have a place to stay. I was going to ask you this earlier, but you were focused on Goku, but could she stay here with us?"

Once again, both Fujimura and Sakura screamed out the same response. "WHAT?!"
