Robin hated tonight. He normally did not mind being partnered with Nightwing during a patrol, but he did mind if he followed him to ensure his, "safety." He would not like it if he is to follow him to Maria's roof.
And he is also close to being late.
"I will head East and you continue North," Robin instructed, already heading his way towards the direction of Maria's home.
Normally, Nightwing would just let Robin's arrogance slide, but he felt something was off with Robin. "Maybe we should both head East," Nightwing suggested.
Robin turned to glare at his partner for tonight. "No," he said, firmly.
Nightwing wanted to follow him, but he wanted to honor Robin's wishes not to be accompanied. I mean, he was Robin at the moment, and not Damian. He can handle himself for a while.
It's not like he's working for some drug dealer or being blackmailed by the Joker... Is he?
After his patrol with Damian, he began to notice his mannerism around the manor more often. He would occasionally see Damian roam the halls. He noticed Damian carry a colorful book into his room. And most often, he would not see Damian in his room. That was strange, he would always see Damian in his room.
Dick also had reports from both Red Hood and Super Boy that he firmly refused for their company when they are to patrol, and he would always choose East.
Dick walked down the halls, trying to guess where Damian might be now.
He picked a random door and peeked inside. It was the library.
Dick roamed through the endless shelves of books until he saw a corner illuminated by a yellow hue. Tip-toeing to the corner, he peaked his head and saw his little brother sitting comfortably in a big velvet chair with a Brothers Grim collection in his hand.
He looked peaceful, sophisticated. And an occasional smile would grace his face.
Dick tip-toed away from the secluded corner Damian put himself in, in hopes he did not disturb him.
