Chapter 8 Chance Encounter

Zom was walking through Anima City, making his way to Sylvasta Pharmaceuticals building. He was determined to find Dr. Genus and put a stop to his plans, but he had to play it smart. Zom had no idea what Genus's connection to Sylvasta Pharmaceuticals was. The mad scientist could be in the building or be monitoring it in some way, if Genus found out about Zom being in the city, he might accelerate his plans.
Zom stood a few hundred yards away from the Sylvasta Pharmaceuticals building smoking a cigarette as he began to think about what action to take. He observed all the various beastmen walking around and wondered what Genus had planned for them.
In roughly the same area, Michiru and Nazuna were walking around and taking in all the sights, but unbeknownst to either of them they were being followed by two members of the House of Evolution, who were wearing street clothes to blend in with the crowd. One was a humanoid frog with a scar across his face named Frog Man. The other was a humanoid slug named Slugerous. Both mutants had been sent out by Genus to capture Michiru and Nazuna and bring them back to the lab. Slugerous had telepathic abilities and he was currently using them to make the two targets go down an alleyway away from the bustling crowds. The two mutants went down the alleyway after the targets.
Zom was people watching, when he spotted Frog Man and Slugerous go down an alleyway, though the mutants were wearing regular clothes, he recognized them as members of the House of Evolution. He quickly went after them.
In the alleyway Michiru and Nazuna were wondering why they went this way, when Nazuna felt a tiny something hit her neck and she fell to the ground unconscious. Michiru whirled around to see Frog Man and Slugerous holding dart guns. Frog Man fired a dart at Michiru who managed to dodge it and tried to rush the mutants. A dart from Slugerous hit Michiru's shoulder and she fell to the ground half conscious.
"Alert Ground Dragon. We have the targets and are ready for extraction." Said Frog Man to Slugerous.
Slugerous did as he was told, but before he could do anything else Zom appeared from behind him and slammed his fist down hard on the mutant's head and Slugerous fell to the ground in a heap. Frog Man saw Zom and his eyes went wide in fear and recognition.
"Subject No.66!" Cried Frog Man.
"Hello frog care to show me where Genus is and what his up to or am I going to have to beat out of you?" Asked Zom pulling out his ax.
Before Frog Man could respond a hole opened up in the ground nearby. It was Ground Dragon's doing and it offered a quick escape for the mutants. Frog Man fired his tongue at Slugerous and yanked him away from Zom, before he dragged his comrade down the hole and disappeared. The hole collapsed on itself preventing Zom from going after the mutants.
Zom turned his attention to the two girls. He knew exactly who they were and if Genus wanted them then they were in grave danger. Zom picked both girls up with ease and began walking away. Michiru looked at the strange man carrying her and passed out.
