Kuoh Academy
It was another day for Ben, he had woken up and came to school. He may of known who and what went to school with but Ben made a promise to his family. While Ben was going to acknowledge his promise to his parents and his grandfather that didn't mean he was going to let anything get past him. Ben may have beaten Rias and her devil minions but he wouldn't put it past them to come and seek some sort of payback.
As Ben walked through the gates of the school he looked around to make sure that he wasn't being followed. He wasn't afraid of them but that didn't meant he was going to let his guard up or get too cocky like he did way back then.
"Ben we need to talk" a voice said to Ben
Ben turned around and saw him standing there, it was none other than Kiba. Ben could see that Kiba still had somewhat of a black eye from yesterday.
"What do you want?" Ben asked Kiba with a glare
"I just came here to talk to you" Kiba answered
"Well I don't" Ben said as he turned away and started to walk
Kiba reached out and grabbed Ben by the shoulder, Ben reacted and elbowed Kiba in the side. Students walking by stopped and stared at the two like something was about to go down.
"Leave me alone Kiba, I am not in the mood to be dealing with you right now" Ben said
"Listen Ben, I don't are about that, I just want to have a talk with you about what happened" Kiba said to Ben
"What do you want to talk about exactly, me kicking you and your master's butt yesterday?" Ben asked
"That is part of it but there is more I want to talk about" Kiba answered
"Oh, you want to talk about how you lied to me, how you betrayed my trust, how lead me only to stab me in the back" Ben said angered
Kiba didn't say anything back, he just stood there still and quiet
"That's what I thought, now if you don't mind, I need to get to class" Ben said walking away from Kiba
Kiba went to reach out to Ben but stopped, knowing what Ben would do to him. He didn't want to make Ben any more angry then he already was with him.
Time Skip
Ben sat there in his desk listening to the teacher give his lecture to the class. Ben saw Issei staring and glaring at him the whole time. He knew that out of all the people in that devil club, Issei would be the first to come after him for payback. The others were somewhat of a mystery to him, Akeno was the only one that creeped him out, even as Rath she creeped him out. Sitting there, Ben was thinking of a plan to avoid Issei and the other devils all together.
While thinking this, Ben thought back to what professor Paradox had told him that night he came home after his fight with the devils
Flashback
Ben's Apartment
"I'm waiting, why didn't you tell me you knew about them?" Ben asked Paradox
"I didn't tell you because I wanted you to make your own first impression of them and it looks like you already have" Paradox answered
"Yeah I did, I mean what did you want me to think after they attacked me and tried to take my soul, making me one of them" Ben said
"I understand your anger and frustration Benjamin but I must say, mistakes were made on both sides and that caused a major misunderstanding between your two parties" Paradox said
"So what are you suggesting then Paradox, you want me to befriend them and ally with them?" Ben asked
Paradox didn't answer Ben's question
"Okay then, what are you suggesting then?" Ben asked in a somewhat calmer voice
"What I am asking of you Benjamin is to keep an open mind towards these devils, I am not saying you should befriend them right away, I am telling you to maybe, eventually ally yourself with them, this does not mean give Rias Gremory your soul just your cooperation" Paradox answered
Ben was taken back by this, Paradox wanted him to ally with them but not in the way he thought
"I don't know Paradox, I've got some trust issues with them" Ben said
"I understand that Benjamin, that is why I am asking you to do what you did with Kevin" Paradox replied
"What I did with Kevin?" Ben asked confused
"You gave Kevin a second chance and he became one of your greatest allies and one of your best friends" Paradox answered
Things started to make more sense to Ben now, Paradox wanted Ben to give them a second chance and to see if they could actually become allies with them. Now the only question Ben had was why did Paradox want him to ally with them.
"Paradox, why exactly do you want me to ally with the devils? Is something major coming that I can't deal with alone?" Ben asked Paradox
"I can't answer due to certain rules involving time and all that but what I can say is that it is in your best interest to stick around with them" Paradox answered
Flashback Over
Kuoh Academy
"Mr. Tennyson, do you know the answer?" The teacher asked Ben pulling him from his thoughts
"Oh the answer, the answer is July 7th, 1937, that was when Japan invaded China" Ben answered
"And when was the invasion over?" The teacher asked Ben
"I believe it was September 10th, 1944" Ben answered
"I am sorry to tell you this but the answer is actually September 9th, 1945 when Japan left China" the teacher said correcting Ben
"Oh, man, so close" Ben said
"Close but not close enough, I suggest that pay attention so you don't end up like a certain Mr. Hyoudou" the teacher
"Heeey" Issei said offended by the comment
Just then bell rang and all of the students in the class got up and grabbed their bags
"Alright class, we will continue the lesson tomorrow, I suggest you study up and read page 240 through 250" the teacher told the class
Ben quickly grabbed his bag and headed for the door before he could be stopped by Issei. As Ben got the door, Kiba was waiting for him there.
"What do you want?" Ben asked Kiba
"Rias wants to speak to you" Kiba answered
"I don't want to talk to your master" Ben said
"I know you don't wish to speak to her but she insists on speaking to her" Kiba said
"If your master wants to talk to me she can come to me herself instead of sending her lying slave" Ben said
As Ben pushed Kiba to the side, he walked down the hall and ignored anything else Kiba said to him
"Hey asshole, you and I have got some unfinished business" Issei said to Ben as he ran out of the class
"Listen perv, the only reason why I tolerate you is because if I were to beat you until you couldn't even jack off I'd get in trouble regardless of how much you deserve it" Ben said before continuing to walk away
Time Skip
Mr. Smoothies
The day was over and Ben was enjoying one of his favorite things in the whole wide world. He was enjoying a Mr. Smoothies smoothie after not having one since he first came to Japan. Despite all the supernatural stuff going on, Ben wasn't going to let anything stop him from getting a smoothie. Ben was going to take Kiba here but things happened and Ben's plans changed.
"Man, this sushi flavored smoothie is awesome" Ben said as he took a drink from his smoothie
Ben took out his phone and went to see if he got any texts, when he checked, he found that Kiba had sent him a message
"To check or not to check, that is the question" Ben said to himself
Deciding to not check the message Ben put his phone back in his pocket and went back to drinking his smoothie. It was then that a spear of light hit the table that Ben was at. Immediately Ben jumped back and hit another table as another spear of light was thrown at him. Ben turned around and saw two fallen angels looking down at him with light spears in their hands.
"Oh great, more of you" Ben said as he got up off the table
"Sacred gear user, you will either come with us or die by our hands" one of the fallen angels told Ben
"Yeah, I don't feel like doing either or, is there a third option?" Ben asked sarcastically
"If you do not come with us we will take that as your sign that you've joined the devils" the second fallen angel said
"Why does everyone think I've joined them? I want nothing to do with devils, fallen angels or anything supernatural, heck I don't even want to be here" Ben said frustrated
"So it looks like you have made your decision" one of the fallen angels said
With that, the two fallen angels threw their light spears at Ben who quickly rolled out of the way. Ben then activated the omnitrix and blindly selected an alien to transform into. Not seeing what he selected, Ben slammed the core of the omnitrix down as it popped up. In a flash of green light, Ben transformed into an alien who's body was made of red charcoal like rocks and was on fire. This was Ben's Pyronite form that he called Heatblast.
"You guys picked a really bad day to be messing with me" Ben said as he caught the two light spears and burned them into nothing
"It appears that your sacred gear has another transformation" one of the fallen angels says
"Oh its got plenty more but your only going to be seeing one of them" Ben said as he threw a fire ball at the fallen angel
That fallen angel dodged the fireball but did not expect for it to explode behind him. The other fallen angel came in close and tried to stab Ben with a light spear but Ben gave off a strong heat wave that pushed the fallen angel back.
"I am really not in the mood for this so unless you want to be barbecue, I suggest you leave now" Ben told the two fallen angels forming a fireball in his hand
"We were tasked with bringing you and your sacred gear back with us" one fallen angel said
"And we refuse to fail in that task like the others before us" the second fallen angel said
Ben let out a sigh of irritation, these two winged jerks weren't going to go away and leave him alone
"Fine then, looks like you won't leave" Ben said
Suddenly Ben began to float in the air as he formed one giant ball of flames above his head. The two fallen angels threw multiple light spears at Ben but the spears dissipated into nothing as they got close to Ben. With that, Ben threw the ball of flames at the two fallen angels. There was a large explosion that engulfed the two fallen angels. Using his control of the flames, Ben kept the explosion contained so it wouldn't destroy the surrounding area. Once Ben was sure that the two fallen angels were defeated, he made the flames vanish revealing the two defeated fallen angels on the ground.
Ben slowly came down to the ground and walked over to the two of them. When one of them moved and tried to get up, Ben shot a fire ball out of his finger like a gun at the fallen angel.
"Your lucky I don't kill my enemies, now tell your bosses or whoever is in charge of you, my omnitrix is not a sacred gear and it is mine, also I'm not joining anyone's side in this weird war of yours" Ben told the fallen angel
Neither fallen angel said anything, so Ben launched to the sky with the power of his flames. He wanted to get out of there before more fallen angels showed up or the authorities did. Little did Ben know that someone was watching him the whole time. It was Koneko and she was sent to follow Ben by orders from Rias.
Time Skip
Occult Research Clubroom
Sitting down drinking her tea was Rias, she had sent out her peerage to do their daily tasks of fulfilling soul contracts and making pacts with humans. Also she was waiting for Koneko to come back with news of what was going on with Ben.
"Its getting late, I'm worried" Rias said
"Don't worry about Koneko, she can take care of herself" Akeno said trying to reassure Rias
"I am worried what will happen if Benjamin finds out what I sent her to do" Rias said
"I know he defeated us badly but I believe Ben wouldn't do anything that would hurt her badly" Akeno said
Rias sighed, maybe Akeno was right but there was still that chance that Ben who was still angered by what happened would lash out at them if they tried anything
"I don't know what to think, I don't know what to do, I've never dealt with anything like him before" Rias said
"I understand Rias but with time maybe Ben will come around" Akeno said
"I feel like I messed up on that end, hopefully Ben will forgive me and listen to what I have to say" Rias said
"With time but for now, let's let him cool off and make sure he is safe from the fallen angels" Akeno said
"Rias, I have important news" Koneko said entering the room
"What is it Koneko?" Rias asked
"It's about Ben and the fallen angels" Koneko answered
"What happened?" Rias asked
"They came for him again and Ben defeated them" Koneko answered
"That sounds like Ben" Akeno said
"That's not just it, Ben said something about his sacred gear isn't a sacred gear" Koneko said
"What did he say it was Koneko?" Rias asked
"He said it was something called an omnitrix and that he doesn't want anything to do with the supernatural or the war between the factions" Koneko answered
"That is interesting, very interesting" Rias said
"Maybe you should ask Sirzechs" Akeno suggested
"Yes, I think I will ask my brother about this so called omnitrix and what it truly is" Rias said
A/N: Hey readers, sorry that this chapter is coming out today and not yesterday but things came up. So yeah, Ben isn't joining Rias and the others right away and they are actually learning that is best to not mess with Ben and maybe it should be best if they try to side with him. Also Rias is going to maybe find out who Ben actually is. I'm not going to exactly say who those fallen angels are and who they work for.
Now to answer some questions and respond to some comments from the last chapter. calderoneric758, yeah, no Charmcaster not in this story. maheshvara007, I can't say for sure that will happen but I can say that Alien X will make an appearance in the story, once or twice. LevinEKevin, I can't exactly do that right away but I will slowly begin to explain the the connection. Mr. Illegal, I don't think I will be using any of the 5YL alien designs. Don't get me wrong I like the work Kuro and the Ink Tank have done but if I'm being truly honest, the designs are super whack, I mean look at Chromastone. So yeah, I won't be using any of the designs but that doesn't mean I won't use any of the 5YL fanmade aliens.
With the questions answered time to get to responding to the comments from the last chapter. Guest-Questioner, all of those are good points but since the second chapter I've been constantly saying that Ben isn't going to be a devil or join their peerage, he'll just help them out every now and then. I guess people just can't read or they just skip past everything either way, A/Ns are at the end of chapters. Fleece Johnson, its not like I can just have Ben kill Issei for being a pervert, I know it seems like having Ben tolerate him his a bad thing but with what I'm doing it works out. Also Ben isn't being a doormat, where did you get that idea? Kratsbroth, oh don't worry you will be seeing even more of the aftermath in the next chapter and then some.
Bromega2477, yeah I figured Paradox needed to show up again in the story eventually. Zero-Nightmare, yeah I think it is best if we keep things to a short comment and a PM, that way it keeps things simple and easy for me. Wraith Master, yeah your kind of super late on that and yeah people wanted Rossweisse but they mostly wanted Akeno, as to why, I do not know. lilbigstoryteller, yeah I try to keep my story interesting for readers.
