Olympian Headaches and Weddings

Six years later

Zeus was relaxing in his palace with Métis already in bed upstairs when suddenly three old women stood in his palace. He kneeled quickly this time not wanting a repeat of his last encounter with The Fates. "My Ladies" The Fates ignored the greeting and only said "A prophecy has been issued and it concerns you so since you don't have a prophetic deity yet we came here to inform you instead" Zeus nodded still kneeling submissively. "We are not bothering with any riddles and such because it would have been a waste of good rimes so essentially your first child with Métis will be smarter than you and the second more powerful than you, take this as you will"

The Fates vanished from the room and Zeus felt his paranoia spike. 'Stronger than me... and smarter. I could be overthrown before I even got to start my rule, at least I know that Perseus would be loyal and never betray me but with these children of mine I have no assurance that they wouldn't betray me the second they were powerful enough.' Zeus had a crippling case of paranoia which mixed in with his power-hungry and arrogant personality was a ticking time-bomb and it looked to have reached zero.

'But how would I... could I?' Zeus decided to let his paranoia overtake him and he went up to his bedroom where his now pregnant lover was lying splayed out over their bed. His shadow loomed over her and his last thought was 'Yes'

One year later

A little boy and girl 'ran'(read: jogged) through some corridors of their home. They looked like average seven-year-olds if a little taller than average but quite other than that they looked like every other child their age, except their eyes which were unique with the girl having dark green eyes like a forests coloring and the boy having smoldering black volcanic eyes. though the boy was a little crooked and hunched over, the girl was careful to not 'run' too fast to not pull away from him. The little girl was playfully jaunting the boy with him shooting back with snide retorts. "Come on Hephaestus! Dad is going to die of old age before you catch me" The girl said good naturally. "I'm just waiting for you Persephone" Hephaestus replied as he overtook his sister. "Hey! That's not true" Persephone shouted indignantly while speeding up.

They continued to race through the halls only traversed by Aurae who when they saw the two speeding children quickly turned into the air as they passed if they couldn't move out of the way in time. The two siblings arrived at their destination and before the door, they stopped and both grew up from seven to eighteen years old. They opened the door and walked into the room. Standing there were their father, mother, Pan, and another brother. Demeter sent a warning look at the two children's tardiness, but the two siblings didn't react other than a little bow of acknowledgment at the warning.

Perseus looked up and saw his last two children who were supposed to be here and greeted them both with a warm hug each before shooing them over to where Prokopios was standing, hoping in his mind that his son with Hecate would actually converse with his siblings in a non-formal manner, but yet again his youngest son was still distant to his siblings. Perseus shook his head mentally but decided that now wasn't the time to press them on this.

He turned around to look at Pan who looked amused at the children with his all-knowing attitude in full force as usual. "My friend have you tried to summon the fates before?" Pan turned his attention from the now completely enthralled children who had only heard that they were summoning The Fates. "I'm afraid that I can't remember, but I don't think it will be very difficult," Pan said with amusement as he looked just over Perseus's right shoulder. Perseus quickly noticed the three old ladies who had stood behind him. He and all the other occupants of the room went down to a knee.

"Lady Fates" Perseus respectfully greeted the deities of fate. The Fates only nodded in recognition at the greeting and turned their attention to the 'children. "You are to receive your domains children of Perseus. You can rise" The Fates said in their usual raspy voices and everyone came up from their knees.

"Prokopios Son of Perseus step forward" The Fates intoned and Prokopios followed their command immediately. Once he stood in front of The Fates they continued. "Prokopios Son of Perseus is to be God of Potions, Herbs, Healing and The Sunrise" The son of Perseus glowed a dark green with a red-orange sheen. He gasped a little after the glow faded away, and he stepped back to his father's side who quietly whispered some encouraging words and gave him a proud sideways hug.

"Persephone Daughter of Perseus step forward" The Fates repeated what they had just said and her domains were Spring, Flowers, Life, Vegetation, Destruction, The Sunset, and apparently an unknown domain which she would receive at a later date. Hephaestus was called up last and he kneeled in front of The Fates. "Such a tragic fate, in another life" One of the Fates mumbled before they began "Hephaestus Son of Perseus is to be God of Fire, Smithing, Metallurgy, Volcanoes, Swords and The Forge" He stepped back after his red glow had faded. The Fates took one last look before disappearing in a flash.

"I'm very proud of you all and I want you to always remember that," Perseus said seriously. Demeter also jumped in "Know that we will always be proud of you both of us" She looked happily at the children in front of her. Prokopios eyes lit up at his father's remark but remained otherwise expressionless. His other siblings though were playing it like they were very embarrassed at their parents' reminder, but they were still very happy.

'This must be the best day in all my life" Perseus thought to himself not knowing how wrong he was.

One hour later

Perseus flashed into the throne room five minutes before the meeting had started and he sat down in his throne relaxing in his now designed throne. The throne was black marble at the bottom which became dark green in the middle and grass green at the armrests. His back was designed after sunrise with red-orange lines crisscrossing across it. And finally, he had a pair of raven wings in a spread on each side of his head. He had Myaló and Sképsi on his armrests patting them all the while he waited.

More and more Olympians began to turn up for one of the two actually scheduled meetings in a year of the Olympian Council. And Perseus began to converse with Poseidon once he had arrived past Zeus much to their younger brother's annoyance. Zeus loudly sent a lightning bolt at Perseus's feet to announce the meeting. Small lighting bolts from the original strike made their way to Perseus's immortal ravens making them crow out, with smoke rising from them both. Zeus allowed a small smirk to graze his lips once he saw his twin's annoyed look directed at him.

"The fifteenth Olympian Council meeting is now in session," Zeus said with his usual theatrics. The meeting continued like usual until Zeus suddenly fell from his throne screaming in pain.

Perseus jumped out of his throne and rushed to Zeus's side. "What is happening?" Perseus asked his twin. "Headache, it feels like something is trying to get out of my head" Zeus managed to ground out before continuing to scream and shudder in pain. Perseus looked shocked at the specific nature of the headache but quickly shook his head and summoned lots of ambrosia and nectar. He then mentally called for his sons Hephaestus and Prokopios who immediately came with the items he had requested. Prokopios had a bunch of potions, while his brother carried an ax.

Prokopios silently fed his uncle a red potion which made Zeus calm down and eventually escape the pain to the domain of Morpheus. The god of potions and healing quickly followed up with a small philter of yellow liquid that he held ready sending a look to his brother. Hephaestus raised his ax and cleaved Zeus's head in two.

The spectating looked shocked at the spectacle while Hera had narrowed eyes that closely watched Perseus's eldest son.

Prokopios quickly opened the philter in his hand and let it rest on his uncle's lips. Suddenly everyone was shocked when a woman in full armor with a shield and spear jumped out of the gaping head of Zeus. She quickly analyzed the situation observing the man she had jumped out of and his gaping head with the three men surrounding him.

"Hmm, he seems to be suffering" The woman emotionlessly said. Apparently very good at stating the obvious. Perseus looked 'like no shit' to her before turning around and continuing to observe his sons now trying to fix their uncle(well son because Hephaestus wasn't too good at biological matters in the slightest. Prokopios gave him some more potions before taking some ambrosia and nectar to give the healing process a little boost. And then he placed a glowing hand over the gaping ravine of Zeus's forehead and the skin began to knit itself together again. After only five minutes it was completely closed up with only the golden ichor staining the forehead of Zeus indicating that he had been injured at all.

Zeus suddenly sat up in a flash with Prokopios jumping back clearly spooked by the sudden movement. Perseus catching his son as he flies by gains an appreciative look from his son who now was steadied with bright gold ears and gold-tinged cheeks. Zeus now up on his feet asked the thousand drachma question to the woman. "Who are you? And what happened?" The Woman(who should really get a name soon) answered analytically with "I have not yet been designated a name, as far as I know, I have only been alive for a couple of minutes" Zeus nodded at the answer and answered with "And a name you shall have but first, what happened?"

He looked at his twin who calmly replied "With your headache, I decided to call in my sons because of their domains, reliability, and accessibility to help you. My son here, Hephaestus..." Perseus grabbed the shoulder of his giant of a son. "Cleaved your head in two with an ax while my younger son fed you potions and healed your injury after... The Woman had jumped out of your head" Perseus finished.

The Woman nodded and said "I deem this to be a probable scenario and I'm a witness to what happened after I arrived" Zeus nodded at his... daughters? remark and he continued "Well it sounds like you nephews of mine have earned the right of a favor each, now what do you want?" Zeus asked his nephews who both looked uncomfortable at their predicament. Hephaestus began in a timid and slightly shy voice that really didn't fit in with his strong and deep voice. "I don't know what I want. Can I save it for a later date?" His brother nodded with the same question unsaid but obvious.

Zeus made a show of considering the proposal before answering "I don't see why not" He said jovially while glancing at his twin who didn't have any qualms about it. "Well, onto other matters like you needing a name" The Woman stood emotionless just staring at her father? "Athena... What do you think about Athena?" Zeus asked his daughter. "I think it's an adequate way of addressing me," The now named Athena said after thinking about it.

"Meeting adjourned," Zeus said distractedly while walking with his new daughter out of the hall.

Three months later

Perseus wasn't having a good day, first, a beautiful woman arrived at Mount Olympus distracting the whole male side of the council, and then his beloved sister decided to talk with him.

"So I heard some interesting things about a certain Titan and her lover" Hera started 'innocently'. Perseus felt a pit of dread growing in his stomach but he tried to ignore it. "Oh? And what's this interesting whisper?" Perseus replied with practiced nonchalance. Hera smiled with something glinting in her light brown eyes. "I don't think you would appreciate it if it was repeated in this company"

Perseus sighed knowing that he would regret this but he let her touch his arm and whisk them away. They landed in a mortal city where they quickly disguised themselves with mortal clothes and repressed their divine aura.

"So I heard that our favorite witch was pregnant you see, with a boy who looked suspiciously like your 'adopted' son Prokopios or shall I say your only biological son," Hera said with a smug smile. "It would be such a shame if I happened to mention this to my dearest sister, right?" His sister concluded. Perseus growled menacingly but answered with gritted teeth. "What do you want?" Hera smiled magnanimously and answered "I want many things, but I have competition that I want... disqualified from our competition" Perseus raised an eyebrow. "And how am I going to disqualify this mysterious competitor?" The goddess of Marriage replied swiftly.

"You will marry her"

One month later

Perseus stood in front of the tree where the ceremony would be held. He looked at the gleeful face of his sister and mentally scowled. How dare that... ***** blackmail him, I will have to pay her back though patience is going to be key, so for now I will play along.

He heard the murmurs from the assembled crowd and sighed. Demeter was not happy about this, definitely not happy about the arrangement. And the worst thing with it was that couldn't even tell her the real reason because she would be destroyed and if there was one being cared about deeply then that would have to be Demeter the mother of his beautiful daughter.

He heard the murmuring cease breathlessly. 'I guess this is it' The god of Nature thought to himself when he felt the presence nearing him from behind. She eventually stood at his side, and with Hera officiating this ceremony it went on without any other delays. Time went on and Perseus got a surreal feeling at this vow he would swear to which would definitely be broken. People talked and Perseus automatically answered to anyone talking to him but was otherwise unresponsive to any events happening outside his head.

"Aphrodite Daughter of Ouranos do you take Perseus, Son of Kronos, to be your sacredly wedded husband?" Hera said with false cheer. Aphrodite swallowed before answering meekly "Yes" Hera turned her attention to her brother and asked him. "And do you Perseus Son of Kronos take Aphrodite, Daughter of Ouranos, as your sacredly wedded wife?" Perseus glared at his sister for some moments before answering "Yes" He managed to ground out wanting to snap the neck of his sister but managing to refrain from that kind of action at this point.

Hera had her light brown eyes lit with glee at her successful scheme and said with something that most could mistakenly guess was excitement for her brother's wedding. "Then I name you man and wife, you may kiss the bride," Hera said it to her brother who glared murderously but decided to not make a scene and kissed his new wife chastely on the lips, which while the action itself was quite enjoyable he still felt like he received a punch to the gut when he did it.

"Let the celebration begin!" Hera said positively glowing with glee.

Three hours later

Aphrodite was apparently enjoying herself with gracefully accepting every gift they got with an equal amount of cheer and appreciation. Perseus meanwhile only talked to his brother Hades about everything and nothing.

Aphrodite leaned over to him with her pretty smile a little fixed. "You could at least pretend, like for example saying a single word to your new wife?" Perseus sighed apologetically "I apologize, but I think we both know this isn't a union of love or anything like that. We have barely gotten to speak with each other and now we're suddenly married? I'm not happy about this and I again apologize if this bothers you but I hope you can understand this situation from my point of view" Aphrodite nodded understandingly and replied "I know that there's another and I can feel your love for her so I can 'understand' how this is from your 'point of view'"

Perseus blinked shocked by her reply. "How? How do you know about that? And don't you have any objections about it?" Aphrodite sighed tiredly "I'm a love deity, of course, I would know if someone loved another, and it would be against my nature to try to interfere in such pure love" Aphrodite finished sadly. Perseus was still baffled but he supposed that he could understand it.

"Excuse me, I have someone to talk with" Aphrodite nodded understandingly to her new husband and Perseus quickly climbed down from the podium where the head table was located. He saw his target and quickly maneuvered through the thinning crowds of deities and spirits. She noticed him and excused herself from her current conversation and quickly moved away from the father of her daughter, but Perseus didn't let this stop him and quickly caught up with her.

"Demeter," He said tenderly. Demeter looked pained at his presence and Perseus felt a hit in his heart but otherwise ignored it. "Demeter, this doesn't need to mean the end we could still..." Perseus was interrupted and Demeter said fiercely "Yes, yes it does mean the end of whatever we had, I will not be the reason for you to be cheating on your new wife. And I will not be with a married man! Perseus I'm serious this is the end!" She quickly moved away and felt each word from her hit him like boulders to the face.

He knew that he probably should have gone after her... but he had lost any emotion and absentmindedly moved back to his wife's side who watched him with sadness. "Fuck, my life is ehhh..."

The celebration eventually died down in the early hours of the next day and Aphrodite led her heartbroken husband into their new bed and cuddled him quietly.

End of Chapter

A little time skip in this chapter. If anyone asks themselves why they haven't been found yet in such a long time even with the Titans as the current rulers of the Greek world. Then it's because 1) The Titans actually don't know where they are and 2) Both sides weren't ready for war so they are currently just building up forces once this 'phony war' ends.

We have now introduced two more Olympians leaving only four more. Athena is very mechanical, analytic, and emotionless because she doesn't have a personality yet which makes sense given her... lack of a childhood.

I'm sorry for those who wanted Demeter/Perseus, but I need him to not really have a love interest that he would never cheat on because I need some Perseus demigod children and this was the way to go, unfortunately. And I needed Perseus to actually have a real reason to not like Hera.

As you can see Perseus and Zeus still care for each other even if Zeus is a real dick to everyone.

And yes Zeus ate Métis(Ugh I want to throw up). And no Métis wasn't pregnant at the end of Chapter 7 I wanted a little time-skip so I had to shuffle some events around, hope it works!

I had a real writer's block with how I was gonna write the last segment with Aphrodite and Perseus, and it's damn irritating when it happens so this chapter was a little delayed by my own scheduling, so I'm sorry if it sucks but I'm finished with it.
