Welcome to my first Care Bear Special!
"Thanks for inviting us for a sleepover, Grumpy," said Swift Heart Rabbit, one
night in Care-A-Lot.
"You guys remember to brush your teeth?" asked Grumpy, getting cozied up in
bed.
"We did," said Baby Hugs and Tugs, in their crib.
"Okay, good," said Grumpy.
"What a great slumber party," said Funshine Bear, getting into his PJs.
"I'll say," said Bedtime Bear, stretching. "Yawn, it's been a great day."
"And that's the truth," said Lotsa Heart Elephant.
"Now comes my favorite part of bedtime," said Grumpy, showing his rare smile.
"Story time!"
"Oh, goody, goody, gosh!" said Baby Tugs. "We love bedtime stories! Especially
when Grams tells us some."
"Well, I think it's Grumpy's turn to tell a bedtime story," said Swift Heart.
Grumpy smiles once more. "It is indeed, Swift Heart. And boy do I have a
story to tell. I made it up myself. Not to mention it is based on this neat
show on TV."
"Ooh, interesting," said Funshine.
"Oh yeah, if any of you got any questions, don't be afraid to ask. We ready?"
"Ready, Grumpy."
"Okay," said Grumpy. "Once upon a time, out in outer space, there was a team of
Care Bears and Cousins on a mission to spread love and care to the universe. They
roam through space in their spaceship called the S.S. Spaceship. The captain
of the crew is Braveheart Lion. His crew included: Super Astronaut Swift Heart
Rabbit, Lt. Treatheart Pig, Lt. Funshine Bear, Friendship Pilots Cheer Bear and Secret Bear,
Junior Cadets Hugs and Tugs, Prof. Bright Heart Raccoon the inventor,
Space Archeologist Lotsa Heart Elephant, Space Doctor Loyal Heart Dog,
and Engineer Grumpy Bear. As you can see, we have a big and epic
cast."
"Wow," said Lotsa Heart. "They're a big family like us in Care-A-Lot and the Forest
of Feelings."
"Exactly," said Grumpy. "Our story begins when the crew of the S.S. Friendship
was getting ready for its big mission yet..."
Entering the main area of the S.S. Friendship is Super Astronaut Swift Heart Rabbit,
all suited up and ready for her big breakthrough.
"Super Astronaut Swift Heart Rabbit reporting for duty, Captain Braveheart," she
said with a salute.
"I see you're all ready for your big mission," said Capt. Braveheart Lion.
"10-4 on that. This is my chance to shine like Lt. Funshine Bear."
"Good one, Swift Heart," said Lt. Funshine, waving to her.
"Thanks, Funshine," said Swift Heart. "Anyway, when are we arriving to planet
Indigo?"
"We're halfway there, Swift Heart," said Friendship Pilot Cheer Bear, driving
the ship with Secret Bear.
Secret Bear says something to Cheer Bear in her ear, quietly.
*whisper, whisper, whisper.*
"Got it, Secret Bear."
"What did Secret Bear say?" asked Swift Heart.
"She says that Planet Indigo is straight ahead," said Cheer Bear.
"I don't get it," said Junior Cadet Tugs. "How come Secret Bear doesn't talk out loud
and stuff?"
"Secret Bear's very shy," said Swift Heart. "She usually has secrets of her own that she's
shy about, too."
"Oh," said Junior Cadet Hugs. "You mean she doesn't want to talk?"
"She, sadly, doesn't have the guts to speak up," said Cheer Bear. "But that's okay.
Not everyone can overcome shyness."
Secret Bear then lowers her head. She's thinking that maybe it's time to overcome
her shyness and be able to speak up.
"Here we are, everyone," said Cheer Bear as they land on Planet Indigo.
"Ready to go for it, Swift Heart?" asked Lt. Treatheart.
"Yeah," cheered Swift Heart.
"What's Swift Heart's mission again?" asked Tugs.
"My mission today is to help Lotsa Heart Elephant find a rare caring treasure:
The Golden Heart."
"The Golden Heart?"
"Uh-huh. It's said that it was made by Bears and Cousins from way back when.
Only we don't know if it was during the dinosaur times or the medevil times.
That's only one thing Lotsa Heart would know and that's the truth. Now, it won't
be easy. The quest for the Golden Heart is a challenge."
"Do you need help, Swift Heart?" asked Capt. Braveheart.
"Uh..."
"It's okay if you do."
"I'll go," said Funshine. "Besides, I love an adventure. Don't worry, Swift Heart.
I'll be with you."
"Thanks, Funshine. You sure about this?" asked Swift Heart.
"You're my best friend, Swift Heart, of course."
"Oh, watch out for Beastly and Shreeky," said Lt. Treatheart.
"Will do," said Swift Heart.
"Alrighty, let's go!" said Lt. Funshine. "Wish us luck, family."
