Watching as Scyther and Spearow grew ever closer to each other, and with his smile never faltering, Ash kept his eyes firmly on the battle, "Final! Stretch your wings out and dive to the left!" Hearing her trainers words, Final stretched her wings out as far as she could before maneuvering her body so she dove down the left side of Scyther, clipping the top of the mantis pokemon's head with her outstretched wing as she dove past.
Scyther grunted in surprise as Final's wing clipped its head, making the Bug pokemon's flying falter slightly, making said pokemon wobble slightly before Scyther canted to the right, narrowly missing a tree before turning around in the air, flying back towards Final, its wings outstretched and shining brightly.
"That looks like a Wing Attack!" Ash thought, glancing around swiftly as Final waited for her trainer's next instruction, her eyes never leaving the incoming mantis pokemon.
"Fly into the tree's, Scyther won't be able to reach you!" Ash quickly called out, watching as Final flapped her wings before nose-diving into the thick brush of the tree tops.
"Scyth?!" Scyther exclaimed as it swooped down to the tree's, it's wings slashing the leaves of the top of the thick brush before the tall bug pokemon flew back around, heading straight for the tree tops and slashing away with its sharp scythes, both of them glowing a bight greenish color, "Fury Cutter to slash the tree leaves...really smart move..." Ash thought as he kept a close eye on Final and her position within the tree tops.
"Now! Fly out and user Peck!" Ash called out as Scyther reached the layer before Final would be revealed, "Rowww!" Final cawed as she shot straight out of the tree leaves, nailing Scyther in the middle of the chest with her glowing white beak.
"Ther!" Scyther cried as it show straight down through the tree's, hitting the floor with an audible Thump! as Final fluttered down gently onto the same floor, her eyes never leaving the fallen bug as the debri started to clear.
"Scyth...Scyth..." Scyther panted as it struggled to stand, leaning all it's weight on its large scythes, "Go! Poke'ball!" Scyther's ears perked up at those words, moving swiftly and hitting the poke'ball straight back into Ash's hand, who caught it, looking at Scyther with an impressed look, "Dam, you are strong...alright! Let's keep going! Final! Use Leer!" Final flapped her wings and narrowed her eyes, her left eye glistening in the sunlight: making Scyther step back slightly, a sweat drop falling down it's face.
"Scyther!" The mantis pokemon cried as it shook it's head before it went airborne once more, flying straight at Final with it's wings spread out and glowing bright white, "Wing Attack this time, huh? Perfect!" Ash thought, a grin spreading on his face, "Fly straight up then spiral down with Peck!" Final reacted instantly, shooting straight up, the tip of Scyther's wing narrowly missing the base of her's as he shot passed where she once flew, slamming its scythes into the tree that was behind Final.
Scyther began to struggle as it tried to pull it's scythes out of the tree - Final on the other hand flew up a bit before spiraling down, her beak glowing white as it connected with the top of Scyther's head.
Scyther let out a cry of surprise as it managed to dislodge its scythes form the tree just as Final hit her mark, forcing the bug pokemon to the floor, where, once again, it tried to stand up using it's scythes - Ash knew this was his chance: Scyther had taken a lot of damage and was focused on standing up!
Silently, Ash un-clipped a poke'ball and threw it, waiting till it was half way towards Scyther before calling out, "Poke'ball, Go!" This time Scyther didn't have the energy to swipe at the poke'ball, closing her eyes as said poke'ball hit her on the forehead, turning her to red energy and being sucked inside before the poke'ball dropped to the floor and began to shake violently. At this time, Ash and Final held their breathes as they watched said poke'ball shake furiously, back and forth.
After a few, agonizing seconds of furious shaking, the poke'balls center flashed red and a soft ding rung out.
Ash gasped, not only needing air but in happiness. He had done it! He just caught Scyther!
"YES! WE DID IT!" Ash shouted as he ran up to the poke'ball, scooping it up in his hands and holding it close, "WE DID IT! WE CAUGHT OUR FIRST NEW FRIEND!" Ash continued to cheer loudly as Final chuckled, smiling as she watched her trainer dance around happily.
