Okay, so you guys may have noticed that I've changed the rating on the story to an M.
While I was originally planning to have the third story be the first M, I think with the way that Rory and Logan's relationship is progressing I didn't want to have to worry about what language I used. I therefore want to warn everyone that this chapter does include mature content in the second part, but is done before the third part.
So onto the reviews:
roganjalex: glad to see that you enjoyed the Chris/Logan moments.
Andrea2811: Clearly not the end of Dean! Also, Shira doesn't approve of them, she just saw that using Rory would have gotten something she wanted. Thank you for calling my fanfic beautiful, very much appreciated.
December Jeffries2: Yeah it went a bit better because at the end of the day Logan has been a much bigger part of Rory's life so he got defensive. I'm glad you find Logan and Jess's friendship a good weird.
loganhuntz: Honor and information is never a good mix, also I like how you've picked up the issue of Chris knowing before Lorelai.
Keep reviewing guys, as it is great to hear your thoughts and comments! Feedback is always appreciated as well. As usual a big thank you to RoryHuntzberger they've been a big help as per usual and came up with some great ideas for this one.
Alright so on with the show, just to mention I own nothing Gilmore Girls related.
Season 2 Episode 7
The Gilmores were not having the best week. After all the excitement revolving around the ball, both of them expected the next few weeks to be pretty normal. However, fate had a different plan.
It manifested in the form of the guidance counsellor telling Rory that she needed to become more social or she could risk not getting into an Ivy League college. Rory had been flabbergasted by the news. Between the two Stooges, Lane, Steph and Honor she thought that she had a good set of friends, and while their relationship might not be known she also had a steady boyfriend. However, this meant nothing to Chilton as they never saw these interactions, and so she had been deemed a loner.
While she didn't always engage with the other students, ever since her little talk with Tristan last year the pair usually had lunch together once a week, and before the whole misunderstanding with Paris, she and the girls seemed to be getting along. She therefore was a bit insulted by the accusation, but after Lorelai had a disastrous meeting with Headmaster Charlseton, it would seem that she was stuck having to resolve this problem.
That was why Rory had been getting involved with the Puffs. They were a 'secret' society at Chilton, and while Paris seemed to be obsessed with getting into the group, the young Gilmore saw it more as a means to an end.
Lorelai's week wasn't going much better than her daughter's. She was labeled a bad 'Chilton Mom' since she apparently wasn't involved enough with her child's studies. She had therefore begrudgingly volunteered to be a part of the Booster Club, much to her mother's delight. While she had surprisingly had some success within the group and even seemed to impress the other moms, the whole thing wasn't Lorelai's cup of tea. The only reason she was doing it was to help Rory, so that's what she kept repeating to herself while she planned the fundraising event for the club.
However, she did get some pleasure in making her mother partake in their fashion show. A fashion show that she was hurriedly getting ready for at this very second.
Lorelai had gasped when she opened the garment bag at the same time as her mother and was bombarded with their Mother/Daughter outfits. The red tweed dress that she was required to wear was definitely a statement, and when she started walking down the runway with her mother's matching set, Lorelai felt a bit apprehensive.
That is until she sees how much Emily is enjoying herself and her delightedness becomes contagious. She desperately tries to ignore Luke's whistling and Michel's gleeful face as they do a little dance at the end of the runway and just focuses on having fun.
Lorelai would have succeeded in ignoring them, if she didn't then hear a very familiar voice yell out, "Looking good Gilmores!" The younger of the two women whips her head towards the direction of the voice, and is met with the sight of Logan leaning behind Luke's chair, he's currently wearing his infamous smirk.
The raven-haired woman narrows her eyes at his presence but carries on with the fashion show. Emily bashfully waves him off and the two of them proceed back to the beginning of the walkway. As they make their final turn and the ladies in attendance start clapping, all Lorelai can wonder is why the young Huntzberger is here.
When the fashion show finishes, all of the Booster Club then come out to talk to the other ladies. This increases the noise level of the room, as all the women start chatting amongst themselves.
Seeing that the main event is over and the ladies will start having their dinner, Luke turns to Logan and asks him incredulously, "So you decided to crash a Chilton fundraising event?"
The blonde laughs at the question before jokily replying, "To be honest with you Luke, I just love charming the older ladies in society. It's a great ego boost."
Both men are startled when they hear another voice say, "I knew it! All this time you've secretly had an affinity for cougars!" They turn to see a smug looking Lorelai standing in front of them. Her arms are crossed and while she is mocking him, Logan can tell that she wants to know what he is doing here. Something that all the other ladies at the event also seemed to want to know, if their whispers and pointed looks were anything to go by.
In truth, Logan was actually in Stars Hollow because he wanted to visit Rory. He's well aware that his increasingly frequent visits look unusual, especially as he's only just started Yale, but if everyone were to know about their relationship he doubts people would question it as much. However, Logan also knows that he can't tell them the real reason, so he tries to think of a good excuse before Lorelai can ask him.
Seconds later that question comes up, "So kid. Not that I don't love seeing you, even in my current attire, but why are you here?"
"Is seeing you looking like Nancy Reagan not a valid excuse?" Logan asks rhetorically as his smirk comes back, causing Luke to look very amused. When he is met with a very unimpressed stare, he then says, "Some of my morning classes got canceled tomorrow, so I don't need to be in till the afternoon. I thought I'd come visit Ace as she said she had a problem at school. Even though it wasn't that long since I last saw you guys, I don't know if I'll be able to come again any time soon." He's pleased to note that Lorelai's face softens throughout his explanation, and he mentally pats himself on the back as his excuse wasn't that far off from the truth.
"That's really sweet of you." Lorelai tells him sincerely. She already knows that it will brighten up Rory's week after the whole Chilton thing. However, not liking that he had seen her dressed like this she has to ask, "I think Ror will really appreciate it, but couldn't you have surprised us, I don't know let's say, at the house. You know, where I don't look like some kind of Stepford wife?"
Logan chuckles at her observation but then explains, "I did go there first, but no one was in. I then went to Luke's and when I couldn't find either of you there, I thought that I would see whether you were still at work."
"That's right!" the raven-haired woman says as she finally remembers why her daughter wouldn't have been at the house. "Ror decided to stay behind for a couple of hours to get some work done for the paper or a project or something. However-" Lorelai stops mid-sentence to look down at her watch before nodding her head, "Yeah, she should be getting home any second." She's entertained to see how excited Logan seems to be by the news. How her daughter doesn't realise that this boy is in love with her, she has no clue. If only Lorelai knew.
It only takes the blonde seconds to then try and excuse himself so that he can get back to the house. Lorelai tries not to laugh when Logan says, "If Ace is back at the house, then I'll get out of your hair," he looks around the room for added effect, before commenting, "It seems like you have your hands fall."
While Lorelai is amused by his whole little act, she's more than happy to have him gone. The sooner the better as she knows that he will be teasing her for her attire for at least the next couple of weeks. She therefore readily sends him on his way.
Logan's smirk comes back as he saunters out of the Inn's dining room. He hears Luke tell Lorelai that he's going to head out as well and then hears her thank him for all his work.
Wanting to embarrass her slightly further, the blonde stops at the table that his girlfriend's grandmother is sitting at. It's on the way out and he can also see that it is the table that Lorelai will be sitting at. He bends down slightly so that his presence is noticed by the redhead, "Apologies ladies," he addresses the rest of the group, before turning back to the Gilmore woman, "But Emily, I was just saying to Lor how fantastic you looked on the runway. There was just no way that I couldn't come and say hello before I left."
He winks at her, as the redheaded woman playfully pushes him. She loves the attention that the boy's comments gain her. Emily then says, "Oh Logan you are such a tease! You must get it from your grandfather. Elias was always the charmer."
After their little exchange, the older Gilmore is then very happy to show him off to the rest of the women on the table, "Ladies, I'd like to introduce you to Logan Huntzberger. Mitchum and Shira's youngest, and my granddaughter's best friend."
The rest of the women at the table offer a greeting, with a few of them saying that they thought they had recognized him or telling him that they knew his parents. One of them is just complimenting him on what a charming boy he seems to be, when Lorelai makes her way to the table. It seems that Luke was much faster than him at departing the Inn.
"I thought you left?" she grills him, before joking, "Or are you just unable to contain your womanizing ways?" While her remark was targeted, Logan has to refrain from laughing when Lorelai pouts as Emily scolds under her breath, "Lorelai, leave the poor boy alone."
Not liking that she's being reprimanded in public, even if no one else heard Emily, Lorelai jabs Logan lightly in the ribs trying to prompt his exit. He's impressed, as she does all this while plastering a smile on her face for the other women. The blonde has to cough so that he can cover up a laugh, finding her exasperation hilarious. "Well with this company, who knows." he answers her last question. "However, I can see that you have a lovely evening planned, so I won't take up any more of your time. Ladies, it's been a pleasure meeting all of you," he addresses the table, before turning to the older Gilmore, "Sophisticated as ever Emily." He then finally turns to the younger Gilmore, "I'll see you back at the house, Lor."
As he turns and makes his way to the exit, he wears an even bigger smirk than before. Lorelai's annoyed face from his dismissal is still playing in his head.
Rory had just gotten into the house a few minutes ago. After the day she had, all she wanted to do was get into comfy clothes, snuggle up with a nice book and watch some TV. So that's exactly what she was planning on doing.
She chose a pair of sweatpants and one of Logan's old t-shirts, as she wanted to feel comforted by one of her boyfriend's possessions. She's just selected a book for the evening, and is still in her bedroom when she hears the front door open, making her freeze. Knowing that her mother should be at the Chilton fundraiser for the next couple of hours, she cautiously calls out, "Hello?"
Seconds later, all tension leaves Rory's body as she hears Logan's voice. "Ace it's me". He then suddenly materialises in front of her, he must have realised that her voice came from the direction of her room. As soon as she sees him, she drops her book down on her cabinet and jumps into his arms. She wraps her legs around his waist and pulls him into a kiss.
When they pull apart, she then asks him, "What are you doing here?"
Logan looks at her lovingly before responding. He's still got a good grip on her thighs, holding her body close. "I thought I would come and surprise my girlfriend" he tells her, before teasing, "And from the reaction I just got, I think that I should do it more often." He squeezes her legs once more before dropping them, allowing her to stand. It's at this point that he looks down, getting a good look at what she's wearing and he is not disappointed, "Can I just say something before you ask anything else." When the brunette gives a small nod, he then exclaims, "I am completely digging the shirt." His lingering eyes make Rory blush, which pleases him as he always likes seeing that he still has an effect on her.
Not wanting all the attention on her, Rory then asks him, "So how did you make this visit seem normal to the guys?"
Logan smiles at the brunette's question, his Ace was always thinking ahead. "I told them that you wanted to introduce Jess to Stars Hollow some more and thought that I would be a good person to have around, seeing as we seem to be getting along."
She looks at him incredulously, "And they believed that?"
The young Huntzberger chuckles, before saying, "Actually, they did. So much so that I think they are jealous about how quickly Jess and I have bonded." Rory snorts at his comment, she can just imagine the other two reacting exactly in that manner. She wonders if this will cause a problem in the future.
Wanting to change the topic, Logan then asks, "Our insane friends aside, how did everything go after that awful meeting with the guidance counselor?" While asking Rory this, he leads her over to the bed so that they can be more comfortable.
The young Gilmore rolls her eyes at the question, but then proceeds to tell him about the whole thing with the Puffs and their weird secret society, she also says about Paris's involvement. While Logan is concerned about the pressure that Chilton is putting on his girlfriend and how bullshit their claim is, he thinks that it's the perfect opening to tell Rory about the Life and Death Brigade.
After she's finished offloading her problems to him, Rory then asks him about Yale and he's just about to start explaining his own involvement in a secret society when she gasps.
"Oh my God, Lo! I just realised you shouldn't be here, you have class tomorrow morning!" At her exclamation, Logan can't help but laugh. Only Rory would be worried about his lectures. He's quick to reassure her that his morning classes have been cancelled, he explains that one of his professors is ill and the other had a prior engagement. The look of relief on the young Gilmore's face is almost comical.
While Rory is much calmer about the situation, her panicking had brought forward an observation that they should try to resolve. She therefore communicates this to Logan, "While I love that you've come to visit me, I feel bad that you're always the one making the journey."
The young Huntzberger frowns at her comment, before saying, "Ace as long as I get to see you, I don't mind making the trip-" He would have continued, but Rory was already shaking her head.
"I'm not suggesting that you shouldn't see me," she tells him, before explaining, "What I was trying to say is that we should both be sharing the load. As in some weeks you come here, but others I go to Yale. Or we can even have designated days for each place. Maybe I can come to Yale every Friday after school before Friday Night Dinner. We could even go to that pub that you guys are always going on about. We can also alternate weekends, or whatever works best for us, or another day in the week if we don't have the time-"
Logan cuts off her rambling as he understands what she's getting at. He smiles while he says, "I think that sounds great Ace," he looks deeply into her eyes as he agrees, "I really like the Friday pub idea. I'm sure the boys will be more than happy to join."
He's delighted to see that his acceptance causes Rory to beam at him. "That's good!" she tells him enthusiastically, "Only problem is that it might take me a while to get there with the buses and stuff."
The blonde rolls his eyes at her remark. "Seeing as I finish early on Fridays, I think I can manage to get to Chilton on time. You'll just have to put up with me on the way back." he responds jokingly.
Rory giggles before replying, "I think I can manage to put up with you for that long." She then leans in and gives him a quick kiss, before saying, "Thank you though, you didn't have to offer."
"Ace, I think you know me well enough to know that if I don't want to do something, I won't do it, so there's no need to thank me." he tells her sincerely, before quipping, "However, if you wanted to thank me with a kiss, I think I need a better one than that."
She knows that he's teasing her, but Rory happily obliges as she leans in for another kiss. This time, it is much more passionate and it isn't long before the pair are lying down on the bed. Both of them are battling for dominance, as Logan turns Rory's body so that she is laying on her back and he's on top.
As they lay there making out, they get completely caught up in each other. Logan's hands are currently in Rory's hair, lightly gripping onto the back of her head, as she gently runs hers up and down his back. The young Huntzberger starts bordering the next step with his girlfriend, even if it is only slightly, as he puts more of his weight on her, so she could feel his arousal. When he can see that she was comfortable with that, he then starts rocking his hips into hers, causing Rory to make a noise of appreciation.
A few more seconds pass before Rory has to pull away to catch her breath. Logan uses the break to switch his attention to just below her jaw, peppering open mouth kisses all the way down the column of her neck until he reaches her collarbone. He then applies a bit more pressure to the tops of her breasts and smiles to himself when he hears Rory's breathless moan. As he makes his way back up to her lips, his hand starts to wander down her body. He's just about to reach his intended destination when he feels Rory tense underneath him.
Logan immediately halts his movements and flicks his eyes up to Rory's. "Ace?" he asks softly, worried that she is uncomfortable. While he can see that she's trying to appear okay, he can detect a slight fear in her eyes. He therefore goes to move off of her, but she stops him before he can make it that far. "Rory," he sighs as he looks at her, before imploring, "We don't have to do anything. It's okay if you're not ready"
Realising that he had felt her tense, Rory shakes her head in disagreement, as she knows what he's assumed. "No, it's not that" she tells him shyly, averting her eyes as she turns her head away.
Not liking that she's become so withdrawn, Logan places his fingers under Rory's cheek and turns her head back so she's facing him. "Then what's this about?" he inquires gently.
The brunette bites her lip as she tries to think of the best way to voice her concerns. "I just realised how much less experienced I am compared to you." She then desperately tries to look away as she's embarrassed for sounding insecure.
Logan almost wants to laugh, but he wisely refrains from doing so. He doesn't think his Ace would take the reaction too kindly. Instead, he tries to tell her why he thinks that the whole thing about experience doesn't matter. "Rory" he addresses her very seriously, "I could have been the biggest Casanova out there, sleeping with hundreds of women and gaining insane amounts of experience. But none of that would have mattered. At the end of the day, you're the one I love. You, Ace. I love you!"
His exclamation makes Rory stop biting her bottom lip so that she can give him a small smile. Glad to see that he was getting through to her, Logan continues, "In fact, I'm so desperately in love with you, that it makes me unbelievably nervous! So much so that my own, significantly smaller than Casanova's experience, is probably not going to do me any good." He relaxes further when his remark brings out a giggle from the brunette.
Incensed by it all, Logan then tells her, "It doesn't matter what I've done in the past. You are the only person that I've ever been in love with. So when I go through all of this with you, it will be a first for me as well." He smiles when he sees that his comment causes her to chuckle.
"I'm sorry," she says with a laugh. Her previous reservations seem to have been resolved by his assurance, "but this will not be a first for you!"
Seeing that she's teasing him and glad that she's become much more comfortable with the situation, Logan dramatically gasps, "Excuse you! Of course it will! It's the first time I'm doing these things with the woman I love. So I think that it's a big deal!" As he says this, he starts walking his fingers slowly up her thigh. He looks at her expectantly, and when she gives him a quick nod showing him she's fine, he keeps going higher.
Logan then continues with his little monologue as his hand encroaches her inner thigh, "I mean, if anything, it puts all the pressure on me as you'll be expecting me to perform well." Rory now bites her lip for a very different reason, as Logan lightly traces over her sex with the tip of his index finger. The friction of her clothes only adds to the sensation.
However, she opens them again, puzzled that Logan is still talking. "It would just be terrible if the person didn't live up to these expectations. I mean, imagine being the guy who disappointed the person he loves because he couldn't live up to the hype." As he voices these concerns, he unties her sweatpants, before slipping his hand under them and further slipping underneath her panties as well. He doesn't strip her of her clothing, as he's not sure she would feel comfortable being that exposed in front of him just yet.
Meanwhile, Rory is tired of talking, so she grabs hold of his head and puts his mouth to better use. As they engage in a very passionate kiss, Logan is thrilled to see Rory taking control and is further delighted to find that his earlier ministrations have had an effect on her as well.
Rory is about to say something when she senses his lips turning into a grin during their kiss, but loses all train of thought when she feels his fingers touching her down there. After the initial pleasure dies down, Rory realises that Logan was distracting her with his odd remarks while he tried to get her out of her own head.
She can't even complain about his methods as she practically twitches with anticipation when the blonde teases her entrance. Definitely a stark contrast to how she was behaving earlier.
Rory moans when Logan finally starts to slowly move his finger inside of her and he is completely enchanted by the look on his girlfriend's face. Rory's mind has completely wandered. All she is able to experience is pleasure and after a short while, she starts to feel something build up inside of her. She is almost shocked at how easily Logan is able to slip another finger in, adding to the sensation.
In the meantime, Logan is caught up by the quiet moans and little gasps that she keeps letting out, making him incredibly turned on. He wants tonight to be about her as it is important that Rory feels comfortable with this side of their relationship. Logan looks down towards his hand, before curling his fingers inside of her, adding to the pressure. He is met with a much louder response, so he then experimentally brushes his thumb over her clit for more stimulation.
After a few more minutes, the whole sensation causes Rory to finally reach her peak as her orgasm starts to take over. She breathily calls out Logan's name and the young Huntzberger is sure that he will have that image seared into his mind for the rest of his life.
As she comes down from her high, Logan chuckles at her slightly blissed out expression and leans in to give her a kiss. "I love you" he whispers as he tucks a stray strand of hair behind her ear, letting his hand linger on her cheek.
Rory has to take a deep breath to regain focus. She then looks at him and replies, "I love you too" before adding with a laugh, "and I loved that!"
Logan snorts at his girlfriend's dorkiness and they relax in the small bed. He absentmindedly plays with Rory's hair as they mindlessly stare at the ceiling, both of them content in the peacefulness that is brought about.
Given the chilled out atmosphere that they've created, Logan's afraid to break the serenity, but he knows that they should probably talk. He's about to make a comment when he suddenly hears a car pull into the driveway.
"Shit" the blonde mumbles. He realises that it's probably Lorelai and that he and Rory need to make the room, as well as themselves, look more presentable. Rory scrambles to adjust her clothes and make her bed, but she finds it slightly difficult as Logan tries to flatten down her hair at the same time. They have just managed to make everything look the way it should, when they hear the tell-tale signs of someone opening the door.
"I have cake!" Lorelai happily announces to the house as she struggles to take her coat off. She's waiting for one of the kids to answer so that she knows which direction to head in. The raven-haired realises that they are in the kitchen or Rory's room when her daughter responds, "Ooh what kind?"
Lorelai follows the voice, before responding, "Vanilla" and hears a pleased hum from Rory. As she enters the kitchen, she is met with Logan's back. It seems that he is getting a drink out of the fridge and he gives a backwards wave to acknowledge her presence. She's about to answer his question about whether she wants anything, but turns quickly when she hears Rory's voice, "So was it a good night?"
She looks back at Logan and shakes her head no, before focusing on her daughter. Lorelai looks to see Rory coming out of her room after placing a book back on the shelf. The older Gilmore assumes that the two of them had chilled in her bedroom, and in her daughter's case read. A typical night for the pair, where she's concerned. Something that Lorelai is glad about as Rory had become so stressed with the whole Chilton situation, the blonde's influence was therefore appreciated. Little does she know just how Logan got her mind off of it all.
Getting back to the younger Gilmore's question, Lorelai shrugs and says, "It went fine. Ran smoothly. The food was amazing and Michel only made three people cry." Wanting to know more, Rory then inquires, "What about the fashion show?" She's a bit confused when this makes Logan chuckle and her mother whips her head around to glare at him.
"Shut up!" Lorelai growls at the blonde, but this only causes him to laugh louder. The whole thing makes Rory look between the two, trying to figure out what her boyfriend seems to know.
After he settles down, Logan looks past Lorelai to the puzzled brunette and says, "Ask her what she wore, Ace!"
Lorelai narrows her eyes at the smug-looking trust fund brat. "Why are you here again?" she barks out at him. Seeing that it must be good, Rory looks at mother before asking, "So what did you wear?" Instead of answering her, Lorelai starts making excuses, "Would you look at the time. I think I'm going to head off to bed."
The older Gilmore barely moves before her daughter is pushing forward with a mini interrogation, "No one took a picture of you?" Lorelai looks around trying not to make eye contact with the brunette. "No, can you believe that?" she supplies as her answer.
"You know, I really can't," Logan pipes in, making Lorelai cringe as she's reminded that he was there. "Especially as I thought I saw a camera when I was at the Inn"
"Dammit!" the older Gilmore stomps her foot and pouts. She then hands Rory her purse so that she can see the photos. While her daughter is getting them out, she points her finger at the smirking blonde and threatens, "If you do anything else to piss me off tonight, it's out of the house for you mister." Lorelai's disappointed to see that he pays no heed to her warning, instead he laughs her off as he makes his way over to see the pictures with Rory.
As they are looking, Rory exclaims, "Oh my God!"
Lorelai is quick to interject. "Be nice," she begs them.
"You look like Nancy Reagan" her daughter comments as she flicks through more of the photos.
Lorelai rolls her eyes at the remark, ignoring the amused glance Logan sends her way "It's disturbing how the two of you always pick the same reference when it comes to things like this. Can you both stop being pod people for like two seconds."
Rory looks back up at mother, before saying almost apologetically, "I'm sorry. You just look so different. Elegant, understated."
"Yes well, you guys have had your fun. So I'm going to hit the hay." Lorelai tells the two delighted looking kids as she snatches the photos back. However, she doubles back to inform Rory of something, "I would suggest brushing out your hair, fixing your makeup, and putting on your cutest pajamas." She's entertained by her daughter's perplexed expression.
"What? Why?" Rory demands quickly. She was sure that she had made herself presentable enough, there's no way that her mom can know about her and Logan already.
Lorelai then proceeds to tell her daughter the plan that Francie and the girls have concocted, but it seems like Rory isn't overjoyed by the prospect of being kidnapped. The older Gilmore is able to talk her into it, but she's glad that Logan also gave his two cents on the matter. His agreement seems to win her daughter over in the end. Rory is then calmer about the whole idea, but she gets her own retribution by grabbing the photos back and saying that they can be used for Christmas cards.
Once the raven-haired woman has gone upstairs, Logan follows Rory into her room. He sits down on her bed and is happy to watch her brush her hair at her vanity while she gets ready. It feels like the perfect time to approach the Life and Death Brigade discussion, seeing as her mind was already on secret societies. Logan therefore hesitantly tries to get her attention. "Hey, Ace?"
Rory hums in acknowledgment as she starts putting on some light make-up, which makes Logan continue talking. "So there's something I need to tell you."
Sensing his seriousness, Rory puts down her lip-gloss and turns to face him in her chair. She furrows her brows as she tries to work out why he looks so nervous. "Okay," the young Gilmore says slowly, she then gets up and approaches the bed, "What's this about?"
Logan's glad that she's now sitting in front of him, as he finds her close proximity comforting. "You know how you were talking about secret societies." Seeing that she's very much invested in the conversation he then rushes out, "Well I'm kind of joining one."
It takes Rory a moment to realise what Logan is telling her, "You're joining a secret society?" she questions him confused.
"Um yeah," the blonde replies cautiously, he rubs the back of his neck as he's nervous about what her reaction might be to the next bit of information. "It's this very elite club called the Life and Death Brigade. The Huntzbergers are actually founding members." he tells her quickly, hoping that she won't focus on the name.
He's not so lucky. "The Life and Death Brigade?" Rory repeats, before asking, "Why does that sound dangerous? Is it dangerous? Oh my God, could you get hurt? What do you have to do to be part of the group? Are you-"
Logan interrupts her as he can see that she's panicking, "Woah, Ace. Okay, I think you need to calm down as I try and explain this." Rory takes a deep breath as she centers herself. She then looks at him expectantly, prompting Logan to tell her more about the LDB, "I know it's not what you want to hear, but the whole point of the secret society is that it does involve a level of risk. Each of their events has a stunt that is performed by their members, but come on Ace I've always been a thrill seeker, this isn't that surprising." He can see that she wants to say something but he assures her, "It sounds scary, and I completely understand why you'd be concerned. But Ace I can guarantee that I would never do something that wasn't safe. They test all of their stunts, so it's not like my life is actually in danger."
Rory sits there as she internalises everything he just told her. While she initially freaked out, she can see that he really wants to be a part of this and so she tries to be more enthusiastic about the club. She gives him a small smile, "It sounds great, Lo." Rory grabs hold of his hand and gives it a squeeze, trying to reassure him. "I'm not going to pretend that I'm not sceptical or worried about it. However, I can see that this is something that you really want to do, I love you too much to get in the way of that. But please promise me that you'll be careful…" she trails off when she sees him smiling.
"Of course, Ace" he agrees before placing a gentle kiss on her forehead, happy that she seems to be more accepting. "If it helps, Colin and Finn are also joining. Both of their families are also legacies."
The brunette snorts at his remark, "Bringing up Colin and Finn does not help your case. If anything it makes it worse. Those two would follow you off a cliff if they thought it would be a laugh."
Logan rolls his eyes, but he can see where she's coming from. "Okay, I'll admit that I shouldn't have brought those two up if I was trying to persuade you. But what I'm trying to get at, is that this will all be alright. You'll still have to put up with me for a little while longer."
Rory giggles at his small joke, "How will I cope?" she asks rhetorically, before becoming more serious. "Just please keep me involved," She lifts her hand up to run her fingers through his hair, her hand then lingers on the back of his neck and she rubs her thumb up and down at his nape. "I'd rather you tell me about anything going on. I would hate it if something bad was to happen to you and I had no idea."
Logan rests his forehead against Rory's before nodding his head, her hand still rests on his neck. "Anything for you, Ace. I know it's meant to be all secretive, but come on I'm Logan Huntzberger. I think I can bend the rules slightly."
The young Gilmore can't help but smile at her boyfriend's cockiness. She's happy that he's willing to do this for her and so she says shyly, "Thank you, it will just make me feel better."
After that, the two of them start chatting about menial things. They are cuddling on Rory's bed when they hear a car pull up to the house. The brunette is quick to stand up and is then pulling Logan out of her bedroom. While she walks him into the lounge she calls up the stairs, "Mom my kidnappers are here!" The blonde looks at her amused as she pushes him on the couch and holds her hands up at him as if to say 'stay there'.
Moments later, he is left in the dark as Rory rushes back to her room. He turns on the couch so that he is now laying down, but still has a good view of the kitchen doorway. Logan watches as a group of girls come into the house and make their way to his girlfriend's room. He hears them yell surprise and then watches as they all start to make an exit. None of them seem to notice his presence, until Paris stops so that she can say something to Rory. Just after their exchange, the blonde girl turns to leave the kitchen when she sees him.
"This is just great. Of course Romeo is here. I bet you get a kick out of all of this." She says sarcastically.
Logan waves at her from his place on the couch and he watches as Rory then joins her. "Nice to see you again Paris. Looking lovely as ever." She scowls at his comment, not enjoying the pleasure he seems to get out of her predicament. It's not her fault that no one warned her about this late night rendezvous. She doesn't need any reminders that her spot treatment and messy hair is not an ideal look.
The brunette rolls her eyes at her boyfriend before bluntly saying, "Goodnight Logan." She then grabs hold of Paris, manoeuvring her out of her house. They leave behind a smirking Huntzberger as the girls set off for their Puff initiation.
Barely an hour later, Logan is being awoken from his bed in Rory's room by a stressed looking Lorelai. "Lor, what's going on?" he asks groggily. The blonde wipes the sleep from his eyes as he sits up in the bed.
Not liking how slow he is waking up, the frazzled woman shakes him again to try and get his attention. "It's Rory" she exclaims.
Lorelai isn't quite prepared for his quick response. He nearly head-butts her when he jumps out of his seat. "Ace!? Is she okay? Is she hurt? What the hell happened?"
Seeing that he's now panicking, Lorelai tries to calm him down as she grabs hold of his face so that he's forced to look at her. "Logan, she's okay. She's not hurt. I just got off the phone with Chilton, they said something about her being there and that I need to come and collect her."
After her explanation, Logan takes a deep breath, as he's relieved to know that his Ace isn't in danger. While he's trying to slow down his racing heart, he realises why Lorelai would have woken him up. "Okay, so do we need to get going?" The older Gilmore smiles at his immediate response, always glad to know that the blonde has her daughter's back.
Forty minutes later, Lorelai and Logan are making their way down the hallways of Chilton. They pass some of the Puff girls with their parents and the older Gilmore smirks at the blonde when she overhears whispers about how he's the Huntzberger heir. Both of them can feel eyes on them as they near the headmaster's office, they are met with a frantic looking brunette.
"What happened?" Lorelai questions as she kisses her daughter's cheek, "The reception on the phone was crap, so all I heard was Rory, Chilton and get down here." Logan is off to the side slightly allowing the two women to greet each other. He bristles slightly as he can still feel way too many eyes on him.
"We didn't go to breakfast," the younger Gilmore admits, "Instead they made us break into the headmaster's office as the big initiation."
"Those stupid girls" Lorelai mumbles and Logan nods his head in agreement. He crosses his arms as he steps nearer to the pair, wanting to shield them slightly as he is still aware that they are being watched. It would seem that his arrival and association with the Gilmores is garnering some attention.
Rory also hums in agreement, "Part of the initiation was ringing the bell in his office. So that's what we were caught doing when security showed up." Lorelai looks at her incredulously, she then asks flabbergasted, "That's what you got busted for, ringing a bell?" When Rory nods, the older woman continues, "Were you at least smoking a Cuban cigar while you were doing it? No, I mean, bad girl. How many times have I told you not to ring bells? They can dent or scratch and they can make dogs go crazy! Who do you think you are, the hunchback of Notre Dame?"
Logan snorts at Lorelai's comments, causing both women to look at him. Seeing as he now has their attention, the blonde then says unashamedly, "Sorry, I just find it amusing that you are far more understanding when Rory gets in trouble, whereas you are worse when I'm caught."
"Um, I think it's because this is one of the very few times that Rory has been caught doing anything. Also, usually when I'm reprimanding you about something you've done, it's normally because you were the ringleader. Last time I checked, Ror had no idea what these girls had planned." the older Gilmore tells him exasperated.
Not liking her answer, Logan then accuses, "This is hypocrisy at it's finest. You just pick and choose to have a go at us when it suits you." Even though he says this, he can agree that the whole situation seems a bit silly as in the grand scheme of things, this is pretty minor and so he's not actually that fussed about the situation. Especially when you compare this to some of the things he got up to with the other two Stooges.
Lorelai rolls her eyes at his assertion. "Ignore him" she says to her daughter, "When I woke Limo boy over there was completely freaked out. While he might seem annoyed, I think he's trying to cover up his very dramatic reaction for when he heard that something might have happened to you."
The young Huntzberger glares at the older Gilmore. He didn't really want his distress known to his girlfriend. However, his eyes soften when he hears Rory ask quietly, "Really?"
"Oh Ace, of course I panicked" he tells her sincerely. Logan then pulls her closer to him, tucking her under his arm so that he can hold her close. "All I had to go off of was your insane mother saying Rory and Chilton. Well actually she originally only said it was about you, which made me wake up very quickly." He then kisses the top of her head to reassure not just her, but also himself.
Logan's comments prompt Lorelai to then ask, "That reminds me, do I need to say anything to the headmaster?" She's trying to move the conversation along, as she's a bit weirded out by just how couply the two of them are acting. Don't get her wrong, they usually behave like they're together, but it seems like something has changed. Especially with the way that Logan is holding her daughter as well as all the knowing looks.
Rory waves her off saying that it has been dealt with and she should be fine. Satisfied for now, it is not long before Lorelai starts herding them out of Chilton, but she does look at the pair in suspicion, as the blonde still has his arms wrapped around Rory.
It would seem that Lorelai isn't the only one to notice something going on between Logan and Rory. Francie stands alongside Lem as their parents discuss what they are planning to do after this whole altercation. They were the eyes that had made Logan feel protective of the Gilmores.
The two girls had been whispering to one another, correctly identifying him as the Huntzberger heir and also wondering what he was doing here with Rory Gilmore.
They watch as Logan pulls the brunette to him, and the pair start walking towards the exit of the school with her mother. Lem points to their connected bodies and says, "See, they must be together."
All Francie can do is hum at her friend's assumption, she is far more focused on how she has completely underestimated the youngest Gilmore. The way that she was able to get the Logan Huntzberger to look at her was not something that should be ignored. Perhaps Rory could still be an asset after all.

The next day, Logan spent an enjoyable breakfast at Luke's with his two Gilmores. Both him and Rory had crashed as soon as they got through the door early that morning from Chilton, so caffeine was essential. The young Huntzberger had briefly chatted with Jess, who was serving coffee for the morning rush, before he had to make his way back to Yale.
There had been a near miss when he went to leave, as Logan had subconsciously gone to kiss Rory goodbye. Luckily he had stopped himself just in the nick of time and made it look like he was just kissing her cheek. He then copied this with Lorelai so no one would think it was strange, but he had to purposefully make sure not to look at Jess's smug face when he was exiting the diner, as his mistake hadn't been missed by the other boy.
After her boyfriend left, Rory then made her way to Chilton. She was hoping to put the whole Puff initiation disaster behind her and was relieved to see that the ordeal seems to be over with when she gets to school. The young Gilmore is able to enjoy her lunch and is happy when one of the other girls from the failed initiation joins her with her own book. She then has a brief encounter with Tristan, who comes over to ask her if the rumors are true and to have a small catch-up. A gesture that she appreciates, as it was nice to see that he cared enough to check up on her.
While Rory is happy that it's over, she uses today to reflect on what happened. She didn't like the position that Chilton forced her into, but it did get her thinking about the perception of someone being a loner and the opportunities to socialise.
Rory had been fortunate in her situation, as she already had an amazing support system. While the school thought that she didn't interact enough with the other students, the young Gilmore already had a tight group of friends that she can rely on and push her to become more social.
It's something that she can't necessarily say Jess has. Rory thinks back to brief times that she's seen him around town and the way he behaves at the diner. She realises that he always seems to be alone. She then realises that it must be hard to be a newcomer, especially in a town like Stars Hollow because everyone is so close.
Logan's excuse that he had told the boys so that he could visit her had also got to her. He had used Jess so that they wouldn't question him coming to Stars Hollow, but his reasoning was still true and it was something that she should actually do. Rory therefore comes up with a plan to try and become Jess's friend, she just hopes that he will want her to be one.
Once school is over, Rory makes her way back to the Crap Shack, where she picks up one of her newer books, before making her way to Luke's. She's going to pretend that she was going there so that she can suggest a book to him.
As she enters the diner, she's pleased to see that there are seats available at the countertop. Rory quickly slides into one of the stools, and Luke almost reflexively pours her a cup of coffee. Seeing that she has a book with her, all he does is greet her and ask if she wants anything to eat. After she orders some fries, he leaves her in peace as he knows she likes to get pretty focused when she reads.
The young Gilmore is glad to have the distraction while she waits for an opportunity to talk to Jess, as he is currently making the rounds with the other customers. She perks up a bit more when he comes behind the counter to refill the coffee pot that he was using.
"Hey" Rory calls out purposefully.
Jess looks surprised that she had said something, but then she reasons that he might have watched Luke's interaction with her and came to the same assumption as his uncle about letting her read in peace. "Hey," he offers after a beat and gives a small smile, seeing that he still has her interest he then asks, "Did Blondie finally leave you alone then?"
Rory laughs before replying, "Yeah, funnily enough he does have his own life to get back to."
"And here I thought that he was your personal stalker/bodyguard." the dark-haired boy quips sarcastically.
"No it's only a part-time gig, the upgrade to full-time stalker/bodyguard only happens once I leave school" the young Gilmore wittily responds. She's glad to note that her remark seems to impress Jess, he's amazed that she's able to keep up with him as people usually struggle.
Switching topics, the troublemaker looks down at the book in front of her. He then flicks his eyes back up to hers as he tilts his head curiously. "Is that any good?" he asks her and it's easy to see that he is interested in her answer.
Rory smiles to herself as her choice of conversation starter seems to be working. She looks down to the book that she'd chosen, American Gods by Neil Gaiman. It had been a good read and it was a plot that she thought that Jess might enjoy. She therefore tells him that. Unlike with other people, she goes into more detail without ruining the actual story. She can see that Jess actually wants to hear about it, which is a nice surprise as the only other person that she's ever been able to talk about literature with is Logan. While he doesn't make it as obvious, the blonde really does enjoy the written word. The two of them could easily talk about any book that they've both read for hours, but they usually refrained until they were alone as it bored everyone else.
It was actually Logan who turned her onto this book, and while she is talking to Jess she wants to laugh as the thought of them all creating a book club suddenly pops into her mind. She doesn't think the two boys would be on board with her idea, so she refrains from telling Jess. However, she does think that Logan has been much better than her with trying to make Jess feel more welcome to Stars Hollow, so maybe when the two boys have become more friendly it would be something that she could bring up.
They carry on talking about other novels that they think the other person would enjoy, and once that conversation dies down, Jess produces a deck of cards from somewhere. They both start playing Go Fish, while Jess waits on tables in between his goes. It creates an easy opportunity to ask him different questions in a relaxed setting, and allows Rory to get to know the newcomer better. Halfway through one of their games, they start trying to convince Luke to join them. As Jess goes to fill up one of the customer's cups, she and Luke exchange knowing glances.
Rory smiles at him when the diner owner sends her a thankful look. He's happy that it seems like Jess finally seems to be making friends, and Rory is a great girl so he appreciates her effort.
The young Gilmore had been having similar thoughts as she reflects on her seemingly successful plan to become Jess's friend.
EN: While the plan was to keep this a T, I think the maturity of Rory and Logan's relationship deserved a change in the rating before I got to the next story, as it seemed more appropriate. I hope you guys liked it, as there will definitely be more to come as they explore their relationship further.
As stated before, please review, as I love knowing your thoughts. Until next time.
