Bridgette and Felix were surprised to find a burly man dressed like a robber standing infront of them with a gun in each hand. Quickly before the guy could blink Bridgette leapt forward and landed a strong enough barrage of three consecutive punches to temporarily daze the man.
Quickly, she grabbed Felix into her arms Bridal Style and ran through the alley out onto the street towards the trocadero which was sure to be vacated. The goon on her trail she didn't hesitate to start creating obstacles to slow the man down. She spared a glance at the screaming Felix.
"Could you stop screaming?! You're making it more difficult to lose him!" Bridgette scolded in a growl as she skillfully climbed onto a roof with one hand as she carried Felix on one of her shoulders with her other hand securing the boy. Once on the roof she took them across several of them until they reached a dead end.
Quickly the man approached as Bridgette searched for a way across and Felix panicked.
That was when she saw the clothes line leading onto a lower rooftop and a thin metal pipe.
She turned to Felix and grabbed his hand.
"Do you trust me?" Bridgette asked.
Felix glanced in the direction of the enemy and then quickly nodded at her.
"Yes?" He answered.
She smiled, "Good! Hang on tight!"
He promptly freaked out as she brought his arms and legs around her neck and waist and grabbed a metal pipe off the ground.
"WAIT! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Felix freaked as she bent the pipe and climbed onto the edge of the roof right below the clothesline.
Bridgette smirked amusedly, "COWABUNGA!"
Felix screamed as she lurched them forward in the improvised zip line and held onto her tightly.
"YOU ARE SERIOUSLY INSANE!" Felix freaked.
Bridgette laughed and the moment they landed cut the clothes line so the man couldn't get to them.
She then turned to him and looked at him firmly.
"Close your eyes and cover your ears."
"Why?"
"Just DO IT!"
Felix did as asked sensing urgency in her voice and Bridgette pulled out her hidden gun. She then aimed at the knee of the burly man and fired with precision.
When the shot landed, the man screamed and fell down.
She grabbed the now stunned Felix and pulled him away towards the entrance leading into the building they were in. Quickly they started running down the staircase.
"Okay! What in the world was that?!" Felix questioned in shock.
"I shot at one of his kneecaps to stop him from being able to follow us effectively. He'll need medical care, so the police will be able to catch him easier. The sooner he's caught, the better the chance that we can figure out who hired him."
Felix was shocked as Bridgette pulled out her cellphone and called the police.
When the call was done, Felix laughed as she finally stopped to catch her breath.
"That... That was insane." Felix commented tiredly.
Bridgette laughed lightly, "Maybe."
Suddenly in-front of them were Ladybug and Chat Noir looking very worried.
"Are you two alright?" Ladybug asked.
Bridgette and Felix smiled.
"Yes, Ladybug. We're just a bit tired is all. We'll be fine once we get back to our homes and take it easy." Felix assured.
Bridgette nodded.
The superheroes relented and took them home. Once the teens were home they quickly showered off and started relaxing. After a while, Bridgette's phone rang with a phone call from Felix. Marinette still out of the house since she was called to the precinct along with Adrien, Felix, Alya, and the rest of the celebrities barring Starlight aka Bridgette.
"Felix? Why are you calling me? Weren't you supposed to be talking to the police right now?" Bridgette greeted.
Felix smirked in amusement as he leaned against a wall inside of the precinct a tiny bit away from the bustle to talk on the phone with Bridgette while waiting for Adrien and Marinette to be done.
"I already did, right now I am only stuck here waiting for Adrien and Marinette to finish. I simply wanted to take this opportunity of free time to speak to you about what happened earlier." Felix answered coolly, trying to mask his amusement and boredom at waiting.
Bridgette rolled her eyes with a smile on her lips.
He was clearly faking that he was bored and amused by her.
"What about earlier? Did the police get the guy?" Bridgette said focusing in on what had happened earlier.
Felix hummed in affirmation, "They did thanks to that shot to his kneecap. It slowed him down enough that when he was about to get away for good, he collapsed from bloodloss. He was taken by Paramedics to the Hospital and is in isolation and heavy restraints being treated by doctors while skilled policemen keep an eye on him at all times. But he won't talk, appearantly, and he keeps saying that he knows nothing about no boy by the name of Graham. He said he was hired to hunt down a girl by the name Starlight and kidnap her." Felix revealed seriously.
Bridgette was surprised, "For me to kidnap me? I haven't done anything requiring that kind of drastic approach in my life. That I know of. I can only imagine whoever wanted me kidnapped wanted my money and that of the rest of TFA. I'll have to look into this."
Felix cut in coolly but seriously, "There's more that I found out."
Bridgette raised a brow in slight surprise, "What did you find out?"
Felix smirked, "Get this, the man chasing us was a hitman, but not just any hitman, the ace hitman of the biggest criminal syndicate here in Paris. The same syndicate whose emblem was tattooed on the lower-arms of the three men that attacked my home in England and killed my mother, and the other three men who had attacked my first home in England when I was an infant and had managed to kill my father. My father having been a very skilled officer in the British Military." Felix explained.
Bridgette was shocked, "If that's the case than things are about to get very crazy very fast for us. I'll push up my deadline for what I need to do and do it all between now and tomorrow. We'll start your bodyguard plan tomorrow after school." Bridgette determined.
Felix smirked proudly as he answered, "Well then see you tomorrow, girlfriend."
Bridgette rolled her eyes and hung up before calling her aunt and uncle to the apartment noticing it was the time where the bakery closed for lunch.
"What is it, sweetie?" Sabine asked her niece worriedly.
Bridgette smiled assuringly, "I'm okay, Auntie. I just wanted to talk to you guys. See..."
As she explained the adults developed a worried expression but remained calm and accepted her decision trusting their niece. The three then had a lengthy conversation until just before Marinette got back from the station.
The Next Day...
Everyone in Marinette's class was around her asking her overall the same question.
Where is Bridgette today?
Marinette truthfully told them that her cousin had been called in by her parents for needing to be absent for half of today and hadn't explained why to even her. They had only stated she would rejoin everyone at school during Lunch.
Suddenly, Alya started as she was staring at her phone!
"STARLIGHT OF TFA IS IN PARIS AT THE EIFFEL TOWER TO HOLD A LIVE SOLO STREAM CONCERT!" Alya bellowed.
Everyone quickly pulled out their phones and opened up the popular band's website to see a live stream happening.
Stream:
Bridgette as Starlight was standing on the stage in her favorite performance outfit with her favorite guitar in hand and hooked up. Her wig was loose enough that at the right time she could simply tug it off and reveal her natural hair and her sunglasses were on her face comfortably. A host, Alec, was approaching Starlight excitably.
"Starlight! This is a tremendous surprise for everyone, i'm sure! While it is widely known that you were born and raised in Paris for a good portion of your life, as part of The Fallen Angels you have never once performed in Paris. What's brought you back to our lovely city?" Alec hosted expertly and kindly.
Starlight beamed an all too familiar (to the students of Francois Dupont) smile at Alec as she raised her microphone and spoke gracefully and kindly.
"Well, uh, there has been a lot of back and forth lately about my identity, why I decided to take a sudden hiatus from music, and just about my plans and activities in general. I figured it was time I addressed everything and where better than the place where my journey chasing the music started?" Starlight answered happily and kindly.
Alec and everyone watching beamed with excitement.
"Are you telling me that you have a reveal or two in store for us today?" Alec asked excitedly.
Bridgette laughed lightly and nodded and answered, "Yes, I figure it's time for me to give the fans an answer. However my identity will be revealed in a big surprise so everyone stay tuned for my surprise. I also want to explain why I took a hiatus from music."
Alec smiled kindly, "Why did you?"
Bridgette smiled shyly, "Well truth be told, A while back I wasn't feeling the same amount of passion I used to when making and performing music. I love our fans and I love music, and because of that, I didn't want to give neither the fans nor the music less than the passion and ambition they deserve from me as a musician. I also wanted to come back home to Paris and spend time being a teenager with my cousin and my family. I know a lot of people have been commenting that I'm running from the recent situation with The Royal Ones, but that situation is water under the bridge for me. I have always found no point in holding onto feelings from situations like that, I prefer to live looking forward towards the future."
Alec and everyone watching beamed happily at that, even Felix.
Soon after a few more mundane questions that Adrien, Marinette, and Felix all knew the answer to already came one they hadn't expected.
"So do you have anyone special in your life now that you've come back to Paris after everything that happened back in America with Jackson?" Alec asked.
Bridgette kept her happy and graceful smile her expression masking the truth perfectly.
"While Paris has many wonderful boys my age, I have my heart set on one already. Though it's not official just yet so I won't be giving any names or hints as to his identity. Jackson was a great guy and I wish him only the best, but he's in my past now and I've happily moved on." Starlight answered gracefully.
Felix, Adrien and Marinette were all surprised at how great she was at interviews.
With that question the interview quickly ended and Alec left Starlight alone on the stage to take her position and start her performance.
