Chapter Eight: A Talk With Gabriel

Chat Noir landed on Juniper's balcony.

"You know you can just come in the front door, Adrien," Juniper hummed, as she drew.

"This is funner," Chat responded. "Claws in."

"Funner isn't a word, Kitty," Juniper said, looking at the boy.

"What? It's in the dictionary," Adrien said. His blonde hair, when under the light, created a halo above his head.

"Yeah, the unofficial dictionary, Adrien," Juniper said. Adrien chuckled as Juniper shook her head.

"So, what do you think about meeting my father- he hasn't talked to me about it, he's bound to though," Adrien said.

"Well, how about we go?" Juniper asked, looking her boyfriend in his big green eyes.

"What about your mom?" Adrien asked.

"Mother will assume I'm with you, she's been doing that lately, when she comes home, 'Oh, Juniper, you're not with Adrien?'" Juniper said.

"Okay, then let's go, Junebug," Adrien said, calling his transformation. He picked up Juniper in a wedding-style hold, and leapt away, towards his house. He detransformed in an alleyway and took Juniper by the hand. "I don't know how he'll react, but I will do my best to state my opinion on you."

"Thank you, Adrien," Juniper smiled. "I- I love you, ya know." Love. That was a word they hadn't used yet.

"I love you too, Junebug," Adrien replied, and then led her by the hand to his house.

"Adrien, who is this girl and why is she coming here so late?" Natalie asked, seeing the boy. "Not to mention your hand-holding."

"Natalie, I need to talk with Father," Adrien said.

"Your father is a very busy man, Adrien, but I will try," Natalie sighed. Adrien squeezed Juniper's hand when an angry Gabriel walked out.

"Adrien? Who is this girl and why do you need to talk to me?" Gabriel asked, harshly.

"Father, this is Juniper Allen, and I wanted to tell you that we are in a relationship," Adrien said after a sharp inhale.

"What? Adrien, you know that you cannot date someone with out my permission," Gabriel said. "She will leave at once, and there is no questions asked."

"No!" Adrien said, gripping Juniper tighter as tears welled up in her eyes. "I'm done getting your permission! I'm your son, not your employee!"

"Why do you think I do all this for you, Adrien?! Because you are my son and I care for you!" Gabriel shot at his son.

"No! You never cared, and you never will! You'll never treat me like an animal that you can lock up in a cage! I'm a TEENAGER! NOT AN ANIMAL!" Adrien shot back.

"As long as you live under my roof, eat my food, you will follow my rules," Gabriel said, regaining his composure.

"Then I guess I won't be living under your roof or eat your food," Adrien said, leading Juniper out. "You've made your decision, I'll make mine." Once outside, Adrien sighed.

"Kitty?" Juniper asked softly. "Are you okay?"

"I- I'm fine," Adrien said.

"No, Adrien, you're not," Juniper said, and kissed him on the cheek. "You're hurting. Come with me, we'll get you some soup."

"Thank you, Junebug," Adrien said with a forced smile.
