Elijah watched Elena in awe as she slept peacefully. He had never seen anyone as beautiful as she was in all his years of living. It was true that Elena was a doppelgänger, however, she was so much more than her appearance. Elijah wasn't sure why he had obtained these feelings for the newest doppelgänger. He often wondered if it was her similarities to Tatia, or something else.
Elijah was snapped out of his thoughts when he felt Elena's breath on his cheek. He wondered when she had approached him, and how she got close enough without him hearing her. He watched Elena curiously, something about her seemed different. Elena had not said a word to him and there was something in her eyes that made him uncomfortable. Elijah's eyes couldn't help but be drawn to Elena's pink lips that were slightly parted.
Without warning, Elena pushed Elijah up against the wall and smashed her lips onto his. Elijah's eyes widened as Elena moaned into his mouth. He couldn't help but enjoy her soft plump lips on his, but he knew he needed to put a stop to this before it went too far. Elijah pushed Elena back, faintly aware of her shaky breathing.
Elena's eyes widened as she realized what she had just done. Her need for Klaus was driving her crazy, she needed to get a grip on herself. More importantly, she needed to get to Klaus as soon as possible. Elena knew that no one other than Klaus could give her the release her body was craving. Once again she had found another reason to hate the blood bond.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to..." Elena said quickly. She was extremely embarrassed by her actions.
"It's alright Elena. I understand that you couldn't help yourself." Elijah assured her.
He wasn't sure, but he suspected this had something to do with the blood bond.
Elena nodded at him, confirming his suspicion.
"I am sorry." Elijah said, giving her a sympathetic look.
Elena narrowed her eyes, she couldn't understand why he was apologizing.
"What for?" Elena asked.
"For Niklaus, he should have never done what he did to you." Elijah stated.
Elena shook her head.
"What are you talking about? Klaus has done nothing but be there for me." Elena said defensively.
Elena wondered what lies they had told the nobel original.
"Elena, Klaus kidnapped you, kept you locked up, and tortured you for 3 months" Elijah stated.
"I have no idea what they told you, but it's not true. I am with Klaus because I…" Elena hesitated, she had never said the words out loud before.
"Elena, Klaus is using the blood bond to manipulate you." Elijah informed, stopping Elena from saying those three words.
"He would never do that to me, Elijah. There's no reason for him to, I'm completely devoted to him." Elena admitted with a smile on her face.
"You weren't always like that, were you?" Elijah questioned, in an attempt to help Elena come to her senses.
"I wasn't, but that was only because I thought he was the enemy. They had lied to me just like they're lying to you, Elijah." Elena stated.
"Why do you hate them?" Elijah asked.
Elena looked uneasy when she heard Elijah's question.
"I won't tell anyone." Elijah assured.
Elena let out a shaky breath, she didn't like talking about what happened.
"They… they killed my family and made me watch. They had almost killed me when Klaus saved me. They don't remember because Klaus compelled them to forget it ever happened." Elena said in a shaky voice, her eyes were filled with tears that threatened to fall.
Elijah looked at Elena with a frown on his face. He wasn't surprised, he knew how Klaus was, but this was too far even for Klaus.
"Elena, that did not happen." Elijah informed.
Elena narrowed her eyebrows and shook her head at him.
"Yes it did, I watched it with my own eyes." Elena said curtly.
"Your family is very much alive, Elena." Elijah stated.
Elena shook her head in denial, she had watched them die. She wished she could believe what he had said was true, but she knew her family was gone and they weren't coming back.
"Get out." Elena demanded, hating how her voice cracked in the end.
Elijah gave her a slight nod and walked out of the cellar. He knew that if he would've stayed and continued talking he wouldn't have made any progress. He would just have to show her instead of telling her.
Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked up as Elijah walked into the room.
"What happened?" Caroline asked.
"Is Elena okay?" Stefan added.
"Call Jeremy and get him over here." Elijah demands.
"What? why?" Bonnie asks.
"Elena believes that all of you murdered her family, we need to show her that Klaus lied." Elijah announced.
"What?" Damon exclaimed, as Bonnie quickly sent a text to Jeremy.
"Why?" Katherine asked in a disgusted tone.
Everyone in the room scowled at Katherine, Damon was about to say something when Elijah quickly interrupted him.
"If she can break the blood bond we would have a greater chance at killing Klaus before he becomes a hybrid." Elijah explained.
"I don't see where Jeremy falls into this." Bonnie said.
"Klaus manipulated Elena's memories, making her believe that you killed her family, if we prove to her that he lied, she might be able to break the bond." Elijah informed.
Elena quickly wiped the last tear from her face when she heard the door opening.
"Go a-"
Elena's words got stuck in her throat at the sight of her brother. She wondered if she had gone insane, how else would she be able to see her dead brother. Elena shut her eyes tightly and opened them slowly, just to make sure she wasn't hallucinating.
Tears flooded her eyesight as she pulled Jeremy in a hug. Jeremy wrapped his arms around his sister as a way of comforting her.
"I'm sorry Jer, I'm so so sorry. It's all my fault." Elena sobbed.
Jeremy pulled back, resulting in Elena looking at him confusedly.
"I'm not dead, Elena. I never died." Jeremy explains.
Elena shook her head violently, unsure of what to believe.
"No… No you died." Elena argued.
"Klaus lied to you, Elena," Jeremy informed
Before Elena could respond Klaus's voice stopped her.
"That is not your brother, Elena. That witch is using her magic, she's trying to manipulate you. Don't fall for it." Klaus's voice instructed.
"Shut up, you liar!" Elena shouted, grasping her head.
"Elena?" Jeremy asked in a worried tone.
Elena stayed silent, preparing for a pain that would never come. She hesitantly looked up at Jeremy.
"He lied to me." Elena said with tears in her eyes.
Did Klaus honestly believe that she wouldn't recognize her own brother?
Elena started to feel dizzy, she grabbed Jeremy's shoulder as her vision became blurry. She attempted to understand Jeremy's jumbled words, but her world faded to black.
Elena's eyes slowly opened, revealing her friends, Jeremy, Elijah, and Katherine.
"I remember everything." Elena stated, making eye contact with Elijah.
Elijah looked into her eyes, searching for something.
"You broke the bond." Elijah noted, sounding surprised.
Elena nodded slowly, before looking at her friends.
"I'm sorry for how I acted…" Elena started, but was quickly interrupted.
"Don't worry about it, Elena." Stefan assured her.
"Did you sleep with Klaus?" Caroline asked, causing everyone to look at her.
"What, it's not like I'm the only one who wanted to know." Caroline said, looking back at Elena.
Elena's eyes went to Stefan, then they went down to the ground.
"I don't want to talk about it." Elena stated.
It was true that they hadn't exactly had sex, but that didn't mean Klaus kept his hands to himself. Elena hadn't thought about Stefan at all when she was with Klaus. She was unsure if it was the bond or if it was herself, it didn't change the fact that she cheated on him. She would have to talk to him about it sooner or later.
Elena wanted to hate Klaus for making her cheat on Stefan... for everything he did to her, but she couldn't. The blood bond might have broken, but her feelings for him remained intact.
