Chapter 8: Trust
"You have SO much explaining to do." Katara says.
"HUGE!" Sokka adds.
"Look guys, I-"
"YOU WHAT?!" Katara yells.
The ground rumbles.
"Wow Katara, you really do get mad." Toph says with a grin.
"That wasn't me.." She replies.
The ground shakes more.
"Whats happening?" Sokka asks worriedly.
Suddenly, The front part of the cave opens, showing the fire lord and Suki at the front.
"Wah-hoo! ZUKO, SUKI! YOU DID IT!" Sokka yells in excitement.
"Not for long.." Zuko says. "They're gonna get back up, So we need to get out of here" Suki adds.
The gang gets up and runs out of the cave and into the forest. Aang stops. He looks at the trees and the setting. It kinda looks like the one..in his dream. Aang gasps at the look of it.
"Aang what are you doing? Come on!" Katara shouts.
But Aang is too distracted. "Aang watch out!" Katara yells at the sight of an arrow coming toward his head. Aang ducks randomly for no reason and sees an arrow hit the tree. "What the heck? I didn't even try to duck." Aang thinks.
The gang comes running behind him. Aang turns to see all the men running toward him. Katara swings a water whip at the soldiers causing them to fall. Zuko blasts fire at them, burning them also causing them to fall. Toph picks up a boulder and shoots it at the soldiers causing them to crash. Sokka swings his boomerang at the soldiers knocking their heads down. Suki chi-blocks a few of the soldiers so that their arms droop. The leader of these men isn't a part of this fight, for what he wants surprisingly has lost his bending. The leader sneaks up on Aang, grabs him and takes him in the forest.
"HELPPPPP!" Aang yells after being taken away.
The gang looks at Aang being taken away and follows him. The men follow too. Aang is taken to the middle of the forest and takes his stance after being let go. "What are you doing you can't bend.." The man tells him.
"Oh.." Aang says getting out of his stance.
The rest of the gang appear behind him and take their stances ready to defend him. Suddenly, the men take benders and stick them to the tree. Only Aang remains free.
"So, this is the Almighty Avatar who defeated Ozai? Well, it seems it isn't so. You can't bend..You're nothing but a big bag full of disgrace..your nothing." The man says.
Aang lets a tear fall down his cheek. He feels a tingle. "No...I'm not nothing...I'm the Avatar." Aang says as his tattoos and eyes begin to glow. The gang smiles. The man frowns in fear.
Powerful winds begin to swirl around him and the man gets blown away.
"You've done it! You're the Avatar!"
All the elements swirl around his airball. The man hits some rocks and gets bruised. Aang grabs the water and frees his friends, causing them to fall.
Aang grabs his fire, water, earth, and air into one straight line pointing towards the man.
"End him!"
Aang stops and freezes. "No, I can't.." Aang says. "I didn't end Ozai so I won't end him." Aang says.
"Who is he talking to?" Sokka asks.
"Then do what you wanna do."
Aang comes near the man and grabs his forehead. Then he takes away his firebending. They both grunt and fall on the floor. The gang's mouths are wide open in surprise.
"I'm sorry.." Aang whispers to the man as he walks away.
Aang is on the beach of Ember island. He's thinking. About so many things…
"Aang?" Katara says gently.
Aang looks behind him to see Katara.
"We need to talk.." She says.
